It's a good place for Muslims to be there. Mash Allah now they have initiated a wonderful program for teaching Urdu to children. I like it.

Love this masjid! It holds true to its name, it feels very much like a large, tight knit community. Very spacious prayer halls for men and women. They have a mother's lounge and babysitting area. I also found it very cool that they have an onsite restaurant and bazaar. Look forward to my next visit.

This school is a very mixed bag. First the good. The principal and his wife work very hard and,…read moreaside from the issues below, seem to be genuinely good people who in ways care for the kids in the school. Whether or not they are saved, based on knowing about and believing in the free gift of salvation, is a different topic. The school is also very affordable (subsidized by the parent church) and limited to parent church members only--therefore keeping out kids that may have been kicked out of public school. The academics at the school are also decent, not great for sure. Here are the bads: * It's a feeder to the college of the parent church: GSBC (Golden State Baptist College), which is basically a career dead end, except for the very small percentage of those pre selected for pastoral roles, based on family connections. It mainly serves as a meeting spot for college kids to get married--but at the cost of a four year education. The vast majority (nearly 100%) of the high school's graduates are expected to and do attend GSBC. * There are many kids in the school without their dads in the home, whether from divorce, being born out of wedlock, or through adoption. As such, the fatherless group can often seek out to harm those with fathers in the home, creating a weird atmosphere. * The favoritism of the children of the staff's inner circle is off the charts, which harms themselves and others. The co founder of the school often recounts that while she was growing up as a daughter of a pastor, she once won a bicycle in a school competition, but had to give it to a laymen's daughter instead to avoid the perception of favoritism--and how she was always mad about that. However, things have gone wildly in the opposite direction at NVBS with favoritism including: manipulating spelling bees to help the chosen, preventing popular laymen's children from running for class president, and massive manipulation of the sports programs, including: - Putting the principal's daughter on the varsity high school volleyball team as a Jr high schooler, without merit. - Putting the principal's son on the high school basketball team in front of players in his own grade who made varsity earlier than him and play the position better. - Spreading out the favoritism by allowing the parent coach of varsity basketball to play his older son as the starting point guard for the last two years, even though he hasn't spent the time to learn to dribble with his left hand. They also do weird things like the first grade teacher often asked the girls to rub her feet during class, which once we found out about, the principal did a good job to stop. So, all in all, I would say to avoid this school and pursue homeschooling, other Christian schools, or even be a light in the public schools. The favoritism issue alone not only hurts the confidence of the majority, but it also doesn't allow the favored few to actually work for and gain skills--hard work is simply not incentivized (the sports programs way under perform based on their size and effort). We left the school 1.5 years ago and have never been happier. Our son, who had been suppressed like the rest was a rising star in 8th grade basketball (top scorer by far and won the Student of the Year award). But when he got to 9th grade, the new parent coach of basketball benched him in JV, told me even many of his own classmates were better than him (including the coach's younger son who scored 0 baskets in junior high), and made him sit on a "bag of balls" instead of a chair during the Best of the West tournament during games. And, this is for a team ranked 95th in the county, out of about 100 teams. Now, two years later, my son is playing as a varsity guard at the 10th best school in the county.

It looks like parking is being re-done and policy is being Enforced etc etc. I came for a visit to my brothers for the weekend, and parked here this morning which I would move as I am in and out of the house. The guy in navy polo saw me getting in the car. Waited a few minutes and tried to act like "security" "policeman" not even hello, straight up "you have no business to park here, I saw you this morning, etc etc " I am not sure if he is having a bad day or that's just the way he is raised to speak to woman or in general. But he probably should learn what manners are. If your business or whoever is trying to implement this "new" parking policy, then start posting signs on the trees, re do your sign so it's visible enough and get security 24/7. As long as my family has lived here, there was no such thing who can or can't park. So policies and procedures for your business, businesses need to make sense, instead of coming out of the building with snobby attitude! I am sorry you are miserable and hate what you do on Saturday, but respect goes along the way! And if you saw me this morning park here, why didn't you come out and say something then? I did work 20 hours in hospital and last thing I wanted was to be stalked where I park and for how long! I cannot seem to believe this man's approach to my car! I should I have just drove away and not listen to him. It's 4:15pm and cars are parked out there and I don't see him stopping anyone from parking there, so it's interesting to me that you are almost picking and choosing who you want to tell something. I hope that made your day for choosing to be rude! :)

The school has been accommodating, welcoming and Christ-centered. My daughter loves her class and also feels challenged educationally. From day one, the staff made our family feel welcomed. They strike that rare balance of being warm and nurturing while also maintaining high academic and behavioral expectations. My boys are excited to go to school each morning, and as a parent, that peace of mind is priceless. The teachers are exceptional--patient, communicative, and deeply invested in each child's growth. They recognize that kids learn differently and somehow manage to challenge, encourage, and celebrate each child as an individual. Yes, it is a Christian school, but it is by no means over the top and our boys really enjoy the stories and songs. The lessons are truly focused on being good humans - who can argue with inspiring a little more love and kindness? What stands out most is the sense of community. This isn't just a school; it's a partnership. Whether it's helping my youngest gain confidence in preschool or ensuring my older kids are engaged, curious, and supported, the school consistently goes above and beyond. As a mom juggling work, schedules, and three very different personalities, I can say with complete confidence that this school has been one of the best decisions we've made for our family. My boys are thriving--and we can't say thank you enough to SCCS.

The praise and worship team led by Pastors wife sang uplifting songs to the Lord. The congregation was fully engaged and the Holy Spirit showed up. The children's church recited bible verses that they learned. Just warmed my heart. Pastor Kaloma Smith brought the word from 1 Kings 18: 20-40. Resetting our Expectations of God! He shared his experience of hearing the Lord. Having faith and favor during the transition from the East coast to the West coast. His wife supporting him and standing with him.
