DO NOT INSURE YOUR CAR WITH THEM! This year my car was totaled (not my fault) and fortunately we had gap insurance to cover the depreciated value. The gap insurance company would not payout a portion of the value that was owed to us because Enumclaw could not prove that we had insurance on our car EVEN THOUGH THEY VERIFIED WE HAD NEVER MISSED A MONTHLY PAYMENT. Due to their clerical error and their unwillingness to make this right, we now owe $3k. I think this shows how unprofessional they are and clearly deomstrates their lack of belief in customer satisfaction. I would hate for anyone to be stuck in the same situation as we are. read more

I ended up dealing with this insurance company in May when my car was rear ended by one of their insured drivers. From what I experienced they are very slow to get back to people, if they even do at all. I remember calling them multiple times after the given time frame of when they said they'd get back to me. Even if you've given them all required information. I.E. their insured's policy number, name, car make/model, time/date of incident, etc. I can understand that I'm not one of their insured drivers & that they need to get the other party's account of what happened etc, but their customer service was very bad. To be honest, it was unacceptable as well. When they did approve of the body shop to repair my rear fender on my car, they weren't even courteous enough to let me know. I had to find out through the body shop that everything could proceed. I hope I never have to deal with them again. read more

Thus far, Mutual of Enumclaw has been fine to work with -- in over a year of being insured by them (auto and renters insurance), we've had no billing issues and their prices are quite decent. We've made one claim; it was for a broken windshield on our car. Dealing with that was easy as could be -- though they contract out glass claims to a national glass claim network, but still, that's part of the service we've paid for, so I'm happy. This is a great company that feels like a small mom-and-pop - they offer very competitive , if not better, rates than most big-name insurance companies ... I like everything about their coverage, the rates - the only thing I don't like is that I have to pay from my checking account - but that saves me five dollars every time I pay so that's OK, but it's a teeny hassle to coordinate that vs charging it and paying all my bills later at one "point of pay". I've worked with Insurance companies many times before. State Farm has by far been the best to work with when having a claim. I used to think Mutual of Inumclaw was a great insurance company. Not anymore. I have roof damage in Spokane due to the windstorm last November. The "Senior Claims Adjuster III" is very rude and dismissing. He was not only rude and dismissing to me, but to the contractor that I hired to repair my roof. He won't answer any of my emails, and I've just about had enough, as I am ready to submit a formal complaint! I think they are a good company as long as you don't have a claim, once you have a claim it seems you are not very important any longer. As soon as my roof is repaired, I will be finding a new Insurance company. So disappointing! read more

We have been with MOE for 20 years, and have had several claims with them, from fender-benders, to one totalled car. They have always been prompt in their response time, professional, and so easy to make changes (add a driver, or take a car off, etc.). Agent told me I was the one who had to contact State Farm insurance myself and put claim in after I had already given all my information to Mutual of Enumclaw. State Farm claimed they were at fault. Unanticipated extended time in the body shop meant need for extended rental car use and now I am out $400 of my own money paying for additional time for a rental car as State Farm refuses to pay anymore than what they reimbursed Mutual of Enumclaw. Mutual of Enumclaw gets paid over $4500 a year from us for insurance. Accident was not my fault and I am out $400. Not too happy with Mutual of Enumclaw nor State Farm either. read more

Worst Insurance company ever! Been insured with them for approx 8yrs with no claims. Recently had a factory sunroof explode and pop out while driving down freeway. Agent gave "pro shop" referral which I called, that glass place did conference call with MoE glass company Safelite who told me they had a limit on how much they would pay for glass and wanted me to pay 300.00+ out of pocket! That's not including a deductible which I had full glass! Agent and claims said full glass no deductible. It was at this time I noticed when the glass popped out it caused damage to the roof and trunk lid (mostly chips) I advised claims of damage found. THen another claims handler got it and said that full glass only covers side windows not OEM sunroofs! I knew that was FALSE! Then Claims came back and said car was a total loss! They gave low ball offer then said because we made offer you have to turn in rental car even though my policy says 40.00 per day up to 1000.00 2 days at 32.00 per day and they want me to turn in the rental? After a total low ball offer to boot! They did not do a mandatory by state condition report just put it all down as "typical" even though I sent them a boat load of pics which they tried to say they never got! Every stall tactic on book! They did a comp comparison with a FWD vehicle when mine is AWD comparison car they came up with had PRIOR ACCIDENT history! I sent them 5 comps and they came back and said sorry we are sticking to our offer. They refused to follow state law and give me a copy of the repair estimate and also refused to give me copy of the condition report which is mandatory. They simply cannot just say your car is typical without looking at it but the example car was PERFECT because dealer said so. Total Crooked claims department! They will soon find out what Arizona law requires them to do operating in this state! (oh yeah, I was a auto claims adjuster here in AZ for 10 yrs & my job? We had two claims in the last few years. One involved our nearly new RV and the most recent was a kitchen flood. With the RV, we worked directly with Camping World, who worked directly with Mutual of Enumclaw. We couldn't have been happier with how all that worked out. For our kitchen flood, we worked a lot with our claims adjuster who always responded same day. Honestly, we see no reason to consider changing insurance companies. After reading the other reviews, it's clear that not everyone has had the same treatment. We have had Mutual of Enumclaw for probably 30 years... multiple houses....multiple autos...4 teenage drivers (boys) and have not one complaint....not one! We've had 2 significant claims... and they made every effort to make us whole again. Yes, we have paid many tens of thousands over the years. Great company if you like paying thousands of dollars to get horrible service. Filed a claim (my first ever) to get my truck fixed and was told all they needed was photos and estimate. Then they decided they needed an adjuster to look at my truck but he wasn't available for a week. A week wait just for somebody to come look at my truck for 5 minutes and say yes it's damaged. Our car was damaged by another car insured by Mutual of Enumclaw, aka Enumclaw Property & Casualty Insurance Company. MofE was horrible to deal with!! After courteously taking our report of the accident, they assigned us to an adjuster who took 10 days to contact us and would never return our calls. Eventually, the adjuster denied our claim with no explanation and no back-up documentation. We had to go to small claims court to get a settlement. Avoid MofE!! We are an independent insurance agency who sells their products. We have been doing this for over 30 years and we don't represent carriers we don't trust! MOE has great staff, great support, competitive rates, and very fair claims. We have seen claims paid in situations where other carrier might not have! It is a shame to read some of the bad reviews below. After doing this for so long it is extremely difficult to judge an entire company based upon one bad claims experience. Sometimes claims just don't go exactly the way we would like them to. Also, it is easy to say it is the adjusters fault, but often times it is not clear who's at-fault in an incident or something that simply isn't covered by any insurance policy; its just too complex to say. Also, we find it much more accurate to judge a company after multiple experiences. To be fair, I think that some of these specific situations could have been remedied by some interaction with the agency that sold the policy and are not a true depiction of how rich the policies tend to be. read more

I had to interact with the insurance company to get compensated for the costs of repairing my vehicle from the body shop, auto shop, along with downtime of not being able to use my car for my business while in repair. We use a local agent that provides the absolute best service -- and if we need to add or change a vehicle it is always accomplished the same day with just an email or phone call to our agent. I am extremely displeased with this company's service and practices. I live in California and was temporarily paying my daughter's premium. She lives in Oregon. They would not send me the notices by mail or to my e-mail and we were not offered automatic payment options. I was paying 6 month premiums and because I was not getting notifications I failed to pay on time. I went on line and paid by credit card. They accepted my payment. A month later I got a cancellation letter sent to MY ADDRESS IN CALIFORNIA, along with a check made out to my daughter. (So they obviously had my address) I called and asked them to refund the money to my credit card and they refused. I would not recommend this company to anyone. read more

My policy started out with a great yearly rate. Unfortunately it didn't stay that way. On multiple occasions they added and refused to drop other drivers on my policy without my permission. When I tried to add my daughter and her car to my policy they denied it. 1 month later they added a 19 yr old boy, whom I am not related to, without my permission and refused to to drop him without proof that he was not my son, did not live with me and had his own insurance. They violated his privacy by sending me his driving history and added $4,119.30 to my bill. How this company hasn't been sued and closed down is beyond me. read more

We've been covered by Mutual of Enumclaw for over 12 years: auto, home owners, investment property and umbrella coverage. They insure low risk people, keeping rates low while providing excellent coverage and customer service. It's nice to get a break and be part of a risk pool with other people like ourselves. After a texting driver slammed into our car that was stopped at a light and totaled it, we were forced to deal with that driver's Farmers Insurance. Their adjusters were manipulative and lied about what we were entitled to (rental car, full value of our totaled car, prompt resolution). Instead, we chose to go through MOE and let them collect from Farmers after the fact. What a relief! They were prompt, helpful, honest and fair. Where Farmers was going to make us wait for a rental for 10 days, MOE authorized one the day we called. Farmers refused to pay us for extras we had in the car - back cargo cover, floor mats, window tinting - and told us to go to the junk yard to pick up the cover and the mats. Should we have scraped off the tinting, too? How useful are mats and a cargo cover filled with chunks of shattered glass for a car we no longer own? MOE gave us fair value for the car and issued the check the same day. Farmers needed ten days to 'process' the payment. We've been satisfied with MOE for all the years we've been covered through them, but I hadn't considered how valuable they'd be when we had to deal with another insurance company. We have been a Mutual of Enumclaw Policy Holder for 18 years. Very small and less than handful of claims. 1-2 claims that were "Acts of God" or someone hit us I think 2 times. A couple of windshield repairs. I understand that some premium increases come in to play. However they have done us dirty on a few occasions. 1) Our boat was stolen. Claim paid out $6000.00. However the boat was recovered and because of this they will sell at Auction and any $'s received over our claim were supposed to be returned to us. Boat auctioned for more but 5 years now and no check. Then it took them 3 years to transfer that boat out of our name. 2) A women didn't like my Husband being behind her as her car was small and his truck headlights were hitting her wrong in her rear view mirror. She slammed on her brakes, he attempted to swerve but clipped her rear quarter panel. Officer cited her for "Rage and Aggression" behind the wheel and no fault of my Husband. This girl tried to fight it in court. Judge upheld Officers citation. Only MOE and her insurance Arbitrated behind closed doors and decided for us w/o our knowledge to have each of us responsible for our own damage and repairs. We had a deductible we had to pay out. They never even allowed us to argue. Didn't care that a court made this Girl accountable. 3) They raise our rates over 25% for this policy period. Reason due to losses in substantial claims last year and this was an increase for all carriers to implement. Only I seem to be one of the very few who got increased. Not one change in the last 2 years, but myself out of 6 other MOE holders in my office alone I am the only one to get increased. An out of the blue increase of over $100.00 a mo. Or $600.00 a period. My policy isn't chump change. I hold 6 vehicles with them. I would leave in a heartbeat if another carrier even offered $10.00 less right now. Over the years I have experienced several insurers for my homeowners and auto insurance. I believe in "pride of ownership"... whether it be my home or my vehicles. While the others insurers have been satisfactory, I have now found that Mutual of Enumclaw has served me best. The coverage for the buck is reasonable... and the service of my agent is top-notch. I had a fender-bender some time ago... of which myself or the other party was not at fault. BEWARE! STAY AS FAR AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY AS POSSIBLE! I had water damage to my condo (from a leak from an upstairs unit), which began on 12/20/2016. I had to move out of my condo on Jan 6th so they could get the damaged material out of my unit. As of this date, April 12th, 2017, I still have my entire kitchen torn out, and my entire kitchen wall and ceiling is gone. I have not been living at my property. They do not care about this, since they do not cover loss of use expenses. They are not covering a hotel, food, or anything. I believe that since it is no cost to them to drag this out as long as possible, it is exactly what they are doing. This insurance company did not respond to requests for information for MONTHS. When they finally came out to do an adjustment claim (In March!) they gave such a low bid, that there is no way I can get my kitchen repaired for what they offered. I had a licensed contractor get bids and put together a quote for what it would cost to repair- 4 x's what they offered. Not only that- the insurance adjuster lied, in writing. Luckily we have documentation from my own insurance agency (MOE is the HOA insurance and the responsible party for the water damage, so my own insurance company cannot move forward until MOE does its' part) that proves he was lying. I filed a complaint with the Insurance Commissioner of Washington State. At this point I have no idea when I will be able to do the repairs and move back in. I am massively stressed out and am at the point of despair, as I have no way to move this ahead faster. I feel for all the other people on here that have had the same experience. All I can say is- do not use them for insurance or give them any of your money to insure you. They will not actually cover you if or when you need it, as evidenced by all the other one star reviews on here. read more
