Unauthorized charges, Mismanaged, Filthy Dirty Just paid in full when Lori charged my credit card more $, and insisted I could only have a credit back. 4 boys harassed me, and tho I was still nice (tho another member wanted to complain), I got home to a mean email telling me I was the problem when she should have brought them over to discuss. Dropped our insurance coverage, so had to pay, only to find the pool closed every day because mistreated lifeguards quit. There are a handful of excellent fitness instructors. But seriously, the Pilates classes are not "Pilates". Most are just " exercises on a mat." So wish they would get a decent teacher who understands and promotes true Palate practices. read more

Hands down best gym in town. My son loves the childcare and can get up to three hours per day. He has never cried when I dropped him off and always looks forward to going to Kids Stuff. I highly recommend jumping in and doing the group fitness classes. The trainers welcome everyone from elite athletes to beginner couch potato. Every time you check in you get health points and can earn free guest passes and free cash. Come and join this fantastic community. read more

I just wanted to give an update and also mentioned about the one staff member who was looking over my shoulder when I was posting a comment on the kiosk that should've been confidential but since he was looking over my shoulder he continued to mention to me about something alluding to the fact that" if I didn't like it I could lump it in so many words". Of late I've seen more potential issues at the club that should be/could be corrected including improvements and staffs attitudes demeanor and the way Legitimate/habitual/concerns are are handled at the club rather than what I've seen they been "brushed off" and not validated. As well as with other organizations I think part of the problem could be that "it comes from the top down". If people don't care then the people under those that don't care aren't really going to care or take responsibility or really give credence to members and such.One might be greeted with a friendly smile and a hello in with the club but what one sees is not always what one gets.J just a current update.The BS continues. Additionally it's increasingly obvious that there are double standards at this club I really don't know what would be accomplished at this point given the poor reply , responses by Scott and the request for clarification regarding confusion based on "written policies" and what "policies" are actually followed there at the club And the double standards that seem to be so prevalent. I've tried to be as,clear and concise as I can., And . The Lack/Hesitancy-of a written/response/reply,Request for a clarification is just another sign in my opinion of the dual standards that seem to be so prevalent And the disrespect on the part of MVP.I've tried and strove to be as clear and concise as I can but yet equal/responsible communication is not reciprocated. I really don't know at this point whether it's OK for me to go on the recommendations of the instructors or not regarding "freedom to Do different yoga poses as needed/as would be beneficial/and has had been allowed in previous sessions and avoiding poses that might be detrimental for one reason or another. I really don't know if I'll ever really be heard by the staff there at MVP regarding legitimate ongoing habitual concerns and I really don't know at this point whether or not it's going to continue that the staff there including instructors are given the OK with the disrespect on the part of MVP. including chiding /criticizing etc. etc. the members read more

Improvements have been made on the gym would rate it 4 out of 5 if not for its members. It seems no one knows that the wipes aren't decoration but there to help you clean your bodily sweat off of the bench after you are done. Also appears they think there is a weight fairy that re-racks weights. Clientele ranges from courteous mall walkers to washed up 55+ yr old men who still think they are in high school and walk around like it's the high-school weight room. read more

This gym is CLEAN, filled with people of all shapes and ages, but what is amazing is all the classes they offer for FREE with your membership. I have always wanted and needed a group workout environment to keep me motivated, and that's exactly what they offer. They have three pools and pool exercise classes! Not to mention racquetball courts, an indoor track, tennis courts and a training field all indoors! The facility has state of the art machines and friendly staff, a small area with drinks and lots of help. Just go in and take a tour , you'll be amazed. read more

Good selection of classes from early morning to evening and weekends. Instructors are motivating and provide instruction to people of all abilities. Everyone is welcome in any class from beginner to advanced levels. There's no judgement; you are encouraged to do what you can do. I have been a member for 8 years. They regularly update our cardio and weight equipment and the staff is always super friendly. They offer a wide variety of classes that you can participate at your own level! If classes aren't your thing there is a range of cardio and weight equipment to do your own thing. Kids Stuff is amazing with my kids (6&3) who have been going there since 6 weeks old! The weight room is well organized and the locker rooms always clean! read more

My family and I were new to the state, just moved from California. We chose MVP because they seemed to be the only gym around that was comparable to what we were used to. Turns out we had to move back to California and needed to cancel our membership that we had for 45 days. I called and tried to cancel over the phone 3 times but they kept trying to pull the monthly dues from my account. The account I had to close because we dont have Lake Michigan credit unions in California. They said they cant cancel over the phone and I needed to come into the club. How do I do that if I live thousands of miles away now. They continued to charge me instead of cancelling and now sending me to a collection agency. Is this athletic club that bad off to where they need my money? Just close my damn account and let me move on! read more

I've been a member at MVP Rockford for several years now. I love this place. Yes, the monthly dues are at the high end, but I'm ok with paying in exchange for all this Club provides. Whether you like group exercises and programs or you prefer to do your own thing, this gym has it. I've never had the experience of a seeing dirty or unkempt room or area. The Staff are always hustling about, performing their jobs. They are helpful, polite and knowledgeable. All of this and more is why I've been a member for years and will continue on. read more

Disgusting shower areas and steam room. Lifeguards leave electrical appliances next to pool. The place is crawling with kids of all ages. Parking is awful. Not much good to say. Staff ok but inconsistent. read more

Worked out here when visiting from out of town for a few days....got a week pass for $33 which was great. The facility is really nice....large and spacious with lots of natural daylight. It's clean which I appreciate. The only drawbacks for me are the equipment is outdated (they don't have enough free weight machines) and the cardio machines aren't great...I prefer the Precor machines.....but you can still get a good work out. The locker room/pool area is great....and they provide towels and soap for the showers. read more

MVP is an outstanding gym. They offer many fitness classes. They do whatever they can to facilitate you.

My son is active duty military home on leave. When he went to the gym to work out, he was charged $33.00 for a week long membership. Generally, businesses support activity duty military personnel especially when they are working to maintain a level of fitness (and work out with their Dad who is a member). The YMCA welcomes active duty military personnel at no charge during their leave. Where is the support of MVP? read more

Sad to see the friendly, family-oriented MAC change to a greedy business like MVP. The customer service does not even come close to what the MAC offered. They will put on a forced smile until you become a member then you are on your own. Don't expect anything from this place. Grand Rapids can't wait for a decent family fitness center to come by. MVP is a sad, greedy business. People getting hurt with their old machines. Kids drowning in their pools every summer right under the nose of their "lifeguards". People getting hurt, falling, bleeding in their facilities and they do nothing about safety. People are realizing that and checking into other options for fitness and family recreation. read more

for 300.00 sign up fee and 138.00 a mo ( family rate) Rockford only this place is not worth it , the YMCA in Belmont is cleaner and nicer . and i only payed 95.00 a mo and no sign up fee! the pool area really sucks with old pool and dirty locker room ( shower were gross and the pool area was dirty and spider webs all long the floor ) the track was nice and the girl that showed us around was nice . the kid room (daycare) is old and gross . tennis courts were nice and the equipment looked ok. read more
