Understandably, like many area businesses, they are overwhelmed and cannot take new clients. What is not understandable is why the person who answered the phone was so rude. She actually went out of her way to be rude and condescending. I have no doubt it must get annoying to have to tell people countless times a day that you are not accepting new patients, but perhaps mention that on the recorded message. You don't have to be kind but when someone is trying to get help for their best friend who is having frightening symptoms, you should really skip the whole being a jerk thing. I was able to find another vet and he got great care and is doing well now. I'm glad we were able to find another clinic because I would have taken him to this place despite the rudeness if they had been willing to see him, I was that desperate to get him help, but outside of a medical emergency, I would never want to place his care and well being in the hands of people like this. Imagine getting the honor and privilege to work with and care for animals all day and somehow still manage to be a horrible and miserable human.

Dr. White's diagnosis was spot on, and we were able to bring her to the emergency hospital in Scarborough for surgery. Dr. White and the team saved her life! I think people from out of town don't realize that this is a small practice with one Vet who can only do so much. They are not offering night time emergencies, and daytime depends on availability. In the negative reviews here, the people are from out of town AAND had an emergency. This is the North country and we don't have the range of services people expect further south. We ourselves usually have to drive to Portland for a 24 hr larger vet that is set up to handle emergencies, especially at night.

I have 4 dogs, have had cats and something is always going awry with them. Dr. Sanders is not only professional, funny, and congenial, but she is super-smart...smart enough to also say she's not sure when she isn't, which is so refreshing. Her approach is education-centered, so you never feel like there's only one option, even if there is only one option. Her practice is not based on squeezing the customer, but the animal in front of her. I also know that her staff is fantastic...they came with her from her last practice, and I can tell you that staff and techs can make or break a practice. Hers make it. If you live within a few hours of Taylor Brook, go to Dr. Sanders. You'll be embarrassed you took your animal friends anywhere else!

They are hard-working in this environment where there are so few Vets. This is all good, but why amazing? Well, at our last Vet, they wanted to squeeze every single penny they could out of you. You could only get your pet medications through them - all because they didn't trust drugs from elsewhere, and they could be Chinese counterfeit. Give me a break, really. The add-ons on check-out were truly nauseating. At your appointment, they gave you maybe 15 minutes, there were so many more appointments after you to make the most profit out of each day. Did they care? When your pet was really sick, could you get-in to see them? No. When your beloved pet was dying, and you were trying to squeeze just a few more days, could you even talk to them on the phone? No. At Sandwich Animal hospital, you get none of this foolishness. Drs. Casey and Adrien Cloutier are dedicated to their customers and their beloved pets. THAT'S AMAZING. These two are "keepers".
