I came in to sell a bag of both men's and women's clothing and a couple of shoes. most of the items I brought in were things that I just missed the return. Period on at the store and thought might as well get a little bit of money back. Honestly, it's a joke to be selling to these stores nowadays but I just happened to be in the area which is why I decided to go in. It looked like they barely looked at my bag. In the end, they only bought 4 out of i'd say about 50 items for $16, including a pair of brand new Birkenstocks that I wore once. The attendants are nice enough and i'd sure they say they offer "competitive pricing", but you're better off just selling on facebook. read more

Some of the workers were very patient and kinda but I came in Sunday afternoon and was helped by some blonde girl. She started off already rude. My sister was waiting in line to checkout and she helped another lady before her even though she was already in line. Afterward we walking around the area because I brought clothes in to sell. I came back around 1:30 ish pm. I let her know I was there to pick up whatever they didn't want. She asked me what order it was. I didn't understand her and repeated patiently what I said. She got visibly upset and rudely said yea what's the name on the order. Normally I don't mind minor things or attitude but this girl was beyond rude. read more

I'm leaving this review in defense of an employee who I watched be verbally abused by an apparently-regular customer today. I'm angry with myself for not realizing what was happening while the customer was still there so I could intervene, and shocked the owner/manager lets her keep coming back. I'm so sorry, Mariana. You were incredibly calm, patient and respectful while that horrible woman berated you. You and your colleagues deserve better, I hope your manager does the right thing and tells her never to return. read more

I DO NOT RECOMMEND this place especially for those who are gonna sell their clothing. I am not someone who leaves a review but every-time I've come here I always have the worst service. They do not call you nor text you when your sell is done and they WILL gonna have you waiting for HOURS without letting you know. Especially the girl with glasses with blonde hair I think she dyed it black/brown. She's nice but I notice and had catch her multiple times where she DOES NOT go through them and just give it a "look". I gotten her couple times and when I come back to pick up my clothing she always has one of her coworkers tell me that they did not buy anything due to not fitting in their inventory when most of clothing are brand new with tags and are mostly styles that are trendy. I HIGHLY Recommend the one in northfield. The girls and manager are soo sweet, kind and give good service especially when selling clothing and WILL call you and not have you waiting forever not like this one who'll waste your time. read more

This place is an absolute JOKE. First off they have like 12-year-olds running the place and evaluating your items. I brought an over $800 worth of Adidas shoes that were in very good to excellent condition, and they told me that it didn't fit there inventory. Meanwhile, on the shelf they had US polo, Asics and target brand shoes. I brought in a bunch of vans shoes in women's sizes, some that were worn one time, really nice dress shoes, nine west shoes, Nikes and Converse, and they said the same thing. This place is an absolute joke, don't waste your time. They have no idea what they're doing. The funniest part was they asked me if I wanted to take my items or if I wanted to donate them. You know what that means right? They didn't want to pay me for my items, but they're fine with me donating them and then a week later they're gonna be selling them on the shelf. Don't spend a dime here, don't attempt to sell your stuff here. I prefer to do business with people who do business with me. And when you bring the quality of items, in the condition that I did, and they tell you that it doesn't fit their inventory, they are absolutely clueless. Look at my pictures. I'm not over exaggerating what I brought in. Every single pair of shoes that I brought in, was nicer than anything they had on there men's shoe rack as far as athletic shoes goes. I agree this place has a nice variety. But they will definitely low ball you if you're selling to them. I brought in 2 big bags and they gave me $35 for 9 items. One of the items being a $250 dress that was still in perfect condition, and some brand new Nikes that were $100. Both only worn once. Overall my experience was OK, but I'm definitely never bringing my stuff there to sell again. read more

I go to this location to sell and shop. I went in today 5/19 and two women were working. The one with short hair was very kind and did my order. She alone deserves 5+ stars. The other woman with the heavy make up was extremely rude. She made multiple comments about customers and gave multiple disgusting looks. Normally I take store credit because I usually find a lot but today I didn't, so I opted for the cash. As I was at the counter she said "of course they only want cash. We should just start telling people we are only giving store credit". She was not welcoming and made me uncomfortable. I shouldn't feel bad about taking cash or feel mean eyes on me while I walk around and shop. read more

I have been looking for the perfect jeans. One's that fit perfect, that are used and the right price point. This is not the place. This closet is used and overpriced. The prices are ridiculous. They have many brand name items. But for the rates that they pay the people that sell them, the merchandise I think is a rip-off. They have many complaints about them trying to purchase a clothing just for a couple of bucks. Now I understand why. Their profit margin must be enormous. I would not stop there again. I'm surprised at the low ratings - I found the selection and prices to be quite good! This store is HUGE and has a huge variety of everything from jeans, to shoes, to ball gowns and so on. The store is well organized which makes it easy to find things and there are a ton of dressing rooms. I especially liked their policy when you sell items, they will either give you the dollar value or double that amount in store credit! I think that's a pretty good deal. Also, they have this system where you text a number and get a random discount (between 10% and 20%) and you can use that towards your total price as well. This can be done every time you make a purchase which is awesome. The only issues I had were 1. like everyone has mentioned, the phone system is EXTREMEMLY annoying. They should definitely have someone answering the phone - their automated system is terrible. and 2. apple maps didn't bring me even close to the store. This may not be a fault of MBFC, but something to keep in mind when trying to locate them as you won't be able to call and get directions. I'd suggest gps-ing to the AMC theater or Marco's pizza and walking from there. read more

After calling a number of resale stores about selling some clothes and being told they weren't buying right now due to a season change, I took a 35 minute drive to My Best Friend's Closet because their recording said that they take all seasons all the time. NOPE! Apparently they're too full, but I could come back the 1st of March (just 4 days away!). I'm SO FRUSTRATED and will never sell or buy clothing here ever again. I've been helping to clear out some of our closets at home and we've been taking quite a few of our items here. I'm always greeted with a friendly face and a relaxed atmosphere to shop around in. I was excited to see that they moved to a much larger location - the layout allows them to organize their inventory and they have a HUGE selection of things to peruse. I definitely recommend signing up for their notifications to keep an eye out for their seasonal sales. Anastasia and Vanessa have been awesome to work with and are always super quick to look through our things and give us an offer. Honestly, it's nice to chat with them and see how the store has been evolving during these crazy times. They've been doing an amazing job of keeping everything up and running, even on busy days when there are loads of clothes that people have dropped off for sale. All in all, a great place to shop and a great place to help clean out your closet if you don't want to go through the work of selling online. read more

The stuff they sell is pretty good Some not so great. They have no loading zone so you have to haul your stuff to the front door from the parking lot. Today I called the 'main line" for MBFC I asked to be connected with the Westminster, CO store... well, that wasn't possible but I was asked why I wanted to speak to them. I said, I wanted to know what "seasons" of clothing they were accepting right now. I was told... Spring and Summer - mainly. Great... I wanted to improve my chances for articles being purchased. Went to the store, parked feeding the parking meter, and walked to the door....to see a sign WE HAVE MOVED... I returned to my car, drove over by AMC Theaters and gave it another shot. The new location is ENORMOUS ... and great - I just wish they would have told me they moved... with on the past month! I gave the clerks my 25 pieces of Spring and Summer clothes... they said give them about 20 minutes... No problem! As i waited 2 other ladies were called back to the counter... they took $14 in cash .. and walked out with 2 garbage bags and a laundry basked of clothes... I was next... and then was offered to purchase 4 of 25 items. I was told... we have too many skirts, some are not last season or we just have too much other inventory. I was offered $9.46 or $18.00 voucher. I left with my other items... I shopped the sale items, shoes/boots and fancy dresses as I waited. There was nothing in the store I wanted to purchase...but I can tell you they had alot of crap priced ... WAY too high. Now, i am not upset that they didn't offer pennies for my clothing... but I will tell you... they might offer you $2.00 for something, then price it $19,95 or more! they must be making money ... but when you see the inventory and quality of stuff of in this store I can't imagine how. Ugh! Great concept, lousy execution. So, this spot used to be a Hollister, but it closed a while back. My daughter and I first tried stopping in back after they opened in January. We waited around for a half hour after their scheduled open time and gave up. Stopped by this afternoon, and we lucked out. However, we were less than impressed. The store is laid out weird. There's a small men's section in the front, right next to prom dresses. Work/career dressy clothes also in the front. Shoes in the center. Junior's jeans and casual wear in the back. Selection is broad, but pricing is odd. I found 7 for All Mankind jeans for $20 but Rock and Republic (a Kohl's brand) for $40? Shouldn't that be the other way around? (FYI, woulda bought the 7's but they were way too long and I don't like super low rise!). This also seems to be the home of Coach and Prada ripoffs. Don't expect authentics here. Customer service was non-existent. One male clerk who was busy texting away. We bought a cute top for $10 and moseyed on. read more

Had two large bags of clothes and they took 16 items and I received $44. It seemed like a great deal since Platos had taken none of those items! The majority of my clothes were Banana Republic and JCrew which Platos does not accept, (even if they are in fab condition!) so MBFC got my business. Customer service was great and it only took 15 minutes to go through my bags of clothes which is excellent! You will never get full or even half price for your clothes but MBFC gave me the best price for quality clothes that were crowding my closet. So being new to Colorado I knew nothing of where to go to shop etc. After some Yelping I found MBFC. There was a location near my hotel so I decided to check it out as I was in desperate need of shoes and a purse! One minor complaint was not being able to find the store easily in the shopping center, but after a quick, friendly call they gave me directions to the door. Once inside, I was concerned that prices would be high bc of the atmosphere (it was very clean, well organized and hip looking). I was shocked at the great prices and at the sale they had going on. After browsing a while I had a pile of clothes to try on. After noticing the time (8:50) and realizing they were about to close and I had yet to try a single pair of shoes, I dashed into the dressing room quickly. I was amazed that at no point did I feel rushed. I emerged from the dressing room with my loot and proceeded to the register when I noticed the two cases of higher end designer labels. Not wanting to be rude I simply asked if they had any Coach in there. The gal in charge at the time, Nikki, said they did and even a pair of shoes and proceed to open the case for me. I quickly found a Coach bag in excellent condition, an adorable pair of Coach heels, a Coach makeup bag and a great Dooney & Burke purse!!! The prices were unbelievable!!!!! And the makeup bag still had new tags on them! Deciding I needed all of them, I grabbed them all. At the register, I engaged in friendly conversation with Nikki and the other gal working, Bradlee. Despite it being now well after closing, they were both SO friendly and patient I was blown away!! Thank you so much!! read more

I walked into this place with 2 full buckets of nice, expensive clothes with the tags still on them. I had things like Urban outfitters, brandy Melville, and Nordstrom. The ladies there told me it would take a hour. I walked around and came back since they never texted me when they were done like they said they would only to find they bought 1 thing. They offered me $1.80 for a dress that had a $50 tag still on it. The ladies working were rude and didn't even have my name or number right on my card but just kept trying to convince me I gave the wrong name. I cant believe I waited a hour for them to offer me less than $2. I'm extremely disappointed in the customer service and will never recommend this store to anyone. smd read more

I purchased a $60 gift certificate at the Westminster, Co location for my son on Wednesday 3/27/19 and had mentioned to the cashier that it was for him to purchase a few pair of jeans. I was informed that they were "thinking" about closing out the men's section at this location, to let him know of this possibility and to come in sooner, rather than later. My son arrived THREE DAYS later and the men's section was completely gone! He was told that he could go to one of the other locations, however it is not convenient for him due to his work schedule. Very disappointed in this place! I have been buying and selling at My Best Friend's closet since it opened. I have 3 daughters so we have a lot of clothes we go through. I took 3 very large bags of clothes in last week. Most items were high end name brands in great condition. When my items were chosen, she handed me a slip offering me $16 for the items she chose to buy from me. When I asked which items she seemed annoyed, she told me that she would have taken a lot more but they are overstocked. I understand this could happen but please save us all the time & inconvenience of lugging bags into the store by maybe posting a sign out when you don't plan to take anything. The items she wanted to give me only $16 for were a brand new with tags Athleta vest, almost new Sperry shoes, almost new Free People Jacket & a couple various name brand tshirts & sweatshirts. I was just about insulted! This place use to be fair and friendly but now just greedy. I could make more off those clothes at a garage sale. I will be taking my business elsewhere for now on, or just donating would be easier and more fulfilling. Hopefully things turn around for this place or they won't make it. read more

When I walked into the Orchard location and was simply in the presence of the staff, I knew this wasn't going to be a pleasant experience. Long story short- don't waste your time taking a bag full of clothes in to be told something is out of style, or not good enough, or whatever it may be; especially when the staff is dressed as though they just spent the day lounging around the house with no sense of professionalism- looks or otherwise. Also, to get $2.00 back on a $45 shirt? Save yourself the hassle and have a garage sale! You'll get the same amount of $ and won't have to drive, OR deal with young unprofessionals who are underdressed telling you your name brands aren't really good enough... I wonder if the owner/upper management are aware of their staff? I wish someone had warned me that I would be better off posting to Craig's list or the like! read more

I was under the impression from their website that this resale store was for adults not teens, like Plato's Closet. It is not. The store is full of tween type clothes, and cheep ones at that, they were trying to re-sell cheap t-shirts from Target and Forever 21 that probably only cost $5 to begin with. I took a chance and tried to sell some stuff at the Orchard location. Don't take too much stuff to this location because there isn't any parking within 5 blocks of the store, so plan on walking a ways with your stuff. Out of a large basket of shoes and clothes, they only took 4 items. I had taken in jeans from Gap and Hudson, high end dresses and shirts from Nordstrom, Anthropologie, Banana Republic, Free People, etc. and some really nice, never worn shoes. What they took was the $3 dress I bought from Hot Topic, and a cheap Target dress that were more the style of a teenager. The girls working there were quick at sorting though my out of style clothes (I'm 26). I wouldn't trust an 18 year old clerk to tell me what is stylish but I guess the management likes their "i just rolled out of bed in my sweat pants and ugg boots" look. read more
