Nice enough store, but some of the clothes seemed a bit old and or not necessarily targeting the younger audience. I see this as a almost 40 year old professional. I stopped by after hitting up a few other stores along Tennyson after a recommendation from an acquaintance. Upon entering the owner seemed nice enough and was really chatty with one of the customers. It's clear that this store really likes its long time customers, but takes a bit of time for new customers. I walked around and some of the clothes was pretty nice. However, $70 for a used J crew skirt is not something I could justify. After wandering around at least twice, I felt like the clothes wasn't really my style and left. read more

Not only was I able to make some money by selling my clothes, but they were also so kind and welcoming and even remembered my children's names. I've had good luck finding great gently used items at this store. My favorite Christmas party dress with an Anne Taylor label was found here at a cool $25. Items aren't generally cheap but are well selected and if you are looking for a few nice pieces for work or for dressy occasions, you'll probably find something. Prices are staggered over time - the longer an item has been in the shop, the lower the price. If you are an unusual size like me you might be able to use this to your advantage if you wait long enough (muahahahaha). Awesome pieces in common sizes disappear quickly. read more

The lovely sisters who run this charming, cozy little consignment shop are probably sick of seeing me in there, but they are consistently friendly and helpful whenever I go in. This is a great place to shop for work clothes and play clothes, and I always end up leaving with way more than I went in looking for. The shop is run very professionally and everything they sell is clean and pressed. They also have a large selection of shoes and accessories, which is always fun. My only gripes (and they're small) are that sometimes the styles are a little old for my taste (although I think they do work hard to provide variety for ladies in their 20's through their 60's); also, the dressing rooms leave something to be desired - they're separated by sheets, and the other day I accidentally bumped butts through the "door" with another lady who was trying stuff on. Overall, though, the prices are reasonable, they have GREAT sales (sign up for their mailing list and get an invite to their 75% off sales), and they're awesome saleswomen - but they won't try to sell you on something your a$$ looks fat in, which I always appreciate. read more

If you consign items regularly then Clotheshorse is a valuable place to go. Although you must make an appointment to bring items in and must often wait several weeks for an open spot, the payoff is worth it. I have taken dozens of items in and have had wonderful luck selling them. Their percentage of the sale is quite reasonable and they are extremely friendly during the whole process. I consigned many items I had worn in an office job I recently left for grad school. While much of their stock is too upscale for me these days, anyone with an 8 to 5 professional gig will find much to love here. You should watch for their clearance sales as well. read more

I consigned here recently and I only sold one jean. When I went to pick up the clothes that didn't sell and the check for a measly $11, I inquired about a sweater on the mannequin and was told that it would be too small for me and that I am "long-waisted". Didn't even bother to look at the tag or to look at me for that matter. At 5'11", 120 lbs, and all legs that's a first. No wonder nothing else sold! read more

Yelp is about personal reviews so although I really enjoyed the owner - the shop just really wasn't my style. It seemed to be a good fit for an older crowd and mostly more conservative tops and dresses. The clothes themselves are good quality, but I couldn't find anything larger than a size 14 and the XL's were what most other stores would consider L. I probably won't be back, but glad I went and checked it out. read more

I would rate this higher for the shop owner (who is super great) but for the selection and prices I cant. I did find a nice purse and a cute jacket, but most anything else was either wayyyyyy to small or wayyyyy to big. I know this is the consignees not the shop owner so I am not blaming her, just saying. They do have a graduating price that goes down the longer an item is in the store so you can find a good deal if you find your size. In October 2016, I took many items of clothing, a purse, and a pair of shoes to Clotheshorse. One of the owners picked out what she wanted and scribbled the total pieces she wanted on a small piece of paper. I took pictures of each piece as I was not comfortable with their method of accounting. I returned to the store in February 2017 to pick up the unsold items. Missing was a designer suit, a women's tuxedo, and a pair of shoes. The excuse I got was that those items were not listed on the piece of paper. She called one week later and remembered the tux had been sold. I did not get paid for the tux, shoes or the suit even though I had pictures of those items. Needless to say I will not return to Clotheshorse. read more

First of all- the frumpy looking woman working there was extrememley rude! The store was cluttered and disorganized. There was a terrible selction of clothing. I saw three of the exact same Coldwater Creek white tee shirts. The style of clothes on display were outdated in style. Don't waste your time shopping there or taking your clothes there. I have had difficulty in getting all of the unsold estate jewelry back after consigning a large amount to to them last Fall. I remained in constant contact with them to let them know that whatever they could not sell, I wanted back. I still do not feel that they have given everything back to me. A word to the wise -- take cell phone photos of everything you leave with them and ask for a full reconciliation of what was sold and what was not sold. They have the software to do this for you All they gave to me was a list of what they sold. Out of 11 rings I consigned to them, they sold none, but gave just four back to me. I pointed this out and the co-owner Sue made me feel like I was wrong, Then two weeks later the other co-owner Wendy called me to say she had the remaining 7 rings which were sterling. She said they were "just in another place". I will always wonder much of my jewelry is still in the "other place" There were copper pieces that were not on the sold list, yet were not returned to me. read more

As far as pricing, selection and quality goes, its right in line with other consignment shops in NW Denver - where I have also both consigned and shopped. I can't go in here without finding something; I am in love with a pair of red shoes, a striped jacket and a necklace I recently scored here. As far as the owner goes, she is head and shoulders above her competitor consignment-shop proprietoresses in NW Denver. She is kind, honest and patient. The shop is cute, too. I visited this shop a few times just browsing on Tennyson Street since I live a few blocks away, and the sisters who own the place are friendly and very fun to chat with. I take my mom here when she comes to visit and she loves it too. I recently started dropping off clothes for consignment here and have been happy with the process...and making a few bucks at the same time! You can't bring your clothes wrinkled up and piled in a bag so there is slightly more effort here than Buffalo Exchange, but because the clothes look nicer on the hangers, they can charge more and I get more $ back. Perfect for unloading nicer clothes or professional work wear. Great shop with clothes up and down the gamut of designers. Quite a bit of high-end stuff. Prices drop on a ladder scale based on length in the store, so you can find deals if you're patient :) read more

About a year ago, I bought four items at Clotheshorse: a pair of cowboy boots, a top, a pair of jeans, and a sundress. I was kind of in a rush when I went in because we were going to a concert that night, so I didn't get on my phone and research the stuff I was purchasing. Most of the stuff in the shop was NOT designer, but from mall stores like Banana Republic, Ann Taylor, Abercrombie etc. Which I suppose one would expect for that neighborhood; it's not like Highlands Mommies wear Tom Ford! As other reviewers have mentioned, the owner was really nice and helpful. Anyway, the top and jeans were ok. Definitely priced higher than I usually like to pay at a consignment shop, but they were nice items that I still wear and enjoy. Once I got the boots home, and I looked carefully at them in natural light, I realized they were much more badly damaged than I realized when looking at them in the incandescent light in the store. They were really overpriced for being basically trashed. I ended up giving them to a friend. The worst was the sundress. The first (and only) time I wore it, both spaghetti straps broke. The tag in the dress said "Forever". I'm dating myself here, but back in my day we didn't have Forever 21, we had Contempo. So I had no idea that the "Forever" on the tag meant Forever 21. Basically, Clotheshorse charged me $20 for a cheap used dress that was probably $15 new at Forever 21. I know some of you will say "buyer beware", but the whole point of going to a consignment shop and paying ten times the price of a thrift store is that the items are supposed to be curated. You shouldn't go home from a consignment shop and immediately have buyer's remorse because half the items you bought were overpriced trash. You should be thrilled with the great designer items you got for a steal. That's the whole point of consignment shops! Even though the owner was nice, I can't recommend Clotheshorse. read more

I love this store! I shopped around other consignment stores and have shopped at Clotheshorse since 2011 I think maybe a little earlier. This is why I love this store... I am in the public eye and I like to dress in a fashion that suits me. I have very particular taste and I'm not the kind who wants to show up at a christmas party with three of us wearing the same dress or outfit. I love good quality and unique items.( That being said I have also purchased some wonderful basic cold water creek items that I love.) I have always felt that Wendy (Owner) is honest if I ask an opinion about what I am trying on. I have been in stores where they will say anything to make the sale and I love the honest opinions at Clotheshorse; I also know that if I don't want her opinion then she leaves me be. The owner is very knowledgable about so much when it comes to retail from types of fabrics to shoes and jewelry. I also love that I'm not sifting through stains or clothes that are falling apart. I still look around at other stores but I think this is a fantastic shop and so I keep returning. I always have people compliment what I wear when I am wearing clothes from this shop. WOO HOO!!! I love this shop! The customer service here is exceptional, the items are nothing but the highest quality; nothing in the store not worth buying! I am employed two shops down at Mouthfuls Pet Boutique and enjoy stopping in as often as I can to see the wonderful prices on all of the fabulous clothing as well as accessories. I could not recommend this wonderful place anymore, it is simply fantastic! I love the ladies employed here always friendly and more then willing to help you find what you need if you are not sure what you are looking for. A huge plus is once the lovely ladies get to know your specific style they will call you and let you know when they get certain products in that they know will fit your personal taste. They have tons of high dollar clothing which i love because as everyone knows it can cost a paycheck to get nice things for a professional job. they also have beautiful jewelry, purses and shoes which are my weakness. the best part is it doesn't break the bank. I started consigning my gently used items here several months ago. And picked up some beautiful silver jewelry for myself and a bolo for my boyfriend. The items I purchased was from someone's estate and they were absolutely high-end, and I am very particular. For those who complained that the store caters to larger sized and older customers, I will have to disagree. Having said that, if you're in your teens or 20s, this is not your store). The items I have brought in were Sizes 4 - 6, Small, and XS, with brands from DKNY! CK, KORS, Adrienne Vittadini and somr Italian brands. I've spotted couple of beautiful Max Studio and BCGG evening blouses. But alas, Size Small. Unfortunately, I am no longer a S/XSmall (reason I had to clean out my closet). I've also bought a brand new Coach leather wallet which I absolutely love. I guess with consignment stores, sometimes you get lucky, other times, not so. My experience from consigning my items has been great. I've been paid very fairly, timely, and Sue has been wonderful to work with. I highly recommend checking out this store. read more
