My almost 2 year old absolutely loves MyGym. The space is safe and fun, the staff is so sweet and absolutely amazing and the activities are the perfect balance between structure and open play. When we moved, my son had a gap in daycare and he was craving the interaction with other children and a kids friendly space with semi-structured activities. My son has attended My Gym for the past four months and it's been such a great experience for him. I chose my gym initially because it is a great value. I compared my gym with other similar children's gyms in the area and my gym had the best schedule of classes and offered unlimited practice and plays, which other gyms did not. My son (and I) love the practice and plays. They are a great way to blow off steam and enjoy some open ended play. The teachers do a fun short puppet show at the end which is adorable. My gym also has such enthusiastic, warm, fun teachers. They seem to really enjoy working with children and have such positive attitudes. They greet them by name warmly at the beginning of class and remember things about your child. One day my son was being cranky and one of the teachers (Miss Melanie) took apart one of the play structures they had put together to give my son the ladder piece because she knew he loved it so much. I find that the classes have just the right level of challenge and the teachers respect children's boundaries. They encourage them to try new things but don't push or force. The classes start out with a short circle time (about 5-10 minutes I believe which seems developmentally appropriate) with a warm up, skill, and song/game and then breaks into stations that switch out every 10 minutes or so. During the stations, they are encouraged to participate and try the activity but also able to explore freely if they choose. I have also appreciated their flexibility during our time there. My son is a bit of a spicy pickle and went through a tough phase during teething and kait (the assistant manager) worked with us to find a class that would work for him (that ultimately meant joining a weekend class so my husband could join and tag team). Our baby has been at MyGym for 3 months now and he LOVES it. He gets so excited even entering the doors. The staff are great and each class is slightly different week to week with new fun activities mixed with routine favorites. They are super responsive. The whole community of parents are kids are also really friendly and great group. So happy we enrolled. read more

Oh how I love love love this place! The staff are dedicated to what they do and they genuinely care about the kids they are hosting and teaching. We have gone for Pay and Play days as well as special events in the evening (Disney night). Though we are not members, they make it affordable by offering pay and play days often enough. My son is so happy when we are there and I love that they teach activities which help develop find motor skills. I think I may actually enjoy it more than my son because I get to watch him do new things to challenge himself in a safe and secure place. I will continue to come here as often as I can. We are lucky to live so close to one of the location. read more

My wife and I cannot say enough good things about the staff and facilities of My Gym on East 83rd Street in Manhattan. Our children, now 5 and 3, each started taking classes there at age 1. I was constantly amazed by how much the staff members all love what they do - Karine, Emily, Vanessa, Liz (the owner) and others. It's obviously very comforting as a parent to see your infants and toddlers with people who are not just "doing their jobs", but by those who genuinely care. A number of the employees have attended birthday parties of our children and their classmates in Central Park. And during the Ice Bucket Challenge craze of a few years ago, my wife and several other mothers participated in a group "splash" hosted by My Gym. My Gym is also a great place to meet other families. As new parents we were overwhelmed with unfamiliar responsibilities, and prior social lives become extinct. Although many of us have since moved out of Manhattan, some of our closest friends now are those we met there. Several of us tried other children's gyms but we all agree that none compare to My Gym on East 83rd Street. read more

We joined my gym just as my son was turning 10 months old. He had little exposure to other people/babies at the time as we had been terrified of covid. From the start, Finn was always happiest at My Gym. From the moment he walked in, he was always proud to show us all the things he could do! My nanny would send us videos of Finn trying to crawl up a ramp and the message would say, one day he'll do it and then one day he did! I remember when the gym emailed and said Finn was ready for the Waddlers. He was just 1 and I thought, but he's not even walking... Just a few sessions in - he was walking! My son really grew up and developed so well here and I would recommend this class to any new mom in the city - it's great for adventure, socialization, testing new skills and gaining confidence! read more

My daughter went to My Gym for a year and loved every minute of her experience there. I was fortunate to attend classes with her and can't speak highly enough of all of the employees as well as David. The experience was always age appropriate for my daughter, but they also pushed her to try to new things and explore during the classes. My son loves his classes and free plays, and I love coming here with him for various reasons. First, it's super clean, the staff are all super kind, professional, and great with children. They are upbeat, but not obnoxiously so and the classes provide guidance but are developmentally appropriate (don't have toddlers standing in line waiting to use the equipment for the entire time, for example). Also, their music playlists are great and varied. It sucks to go to some of these classes that all have the same annoying tunes. Kids get to listen to various genres of fun music, not watered down kiddie versions of their favorite songs. Also--amazing make up policy/cancellation policy. Love these guys! read more

We had our daughter's 3rd birthday party here recently and it was great. We had 18 kids with parents and everyone was fully engaged from start to finish. Vanessa and Evan did an amazing job - from helping set up all of the food / drinks we brought for the adults to the pizza and cake for the kids, they went above and beyond to keep all of the kids active and and entertained. Excellent activities from dancing to a motorized Thomas the Train and even a mini zipline swing. The structure of the party was great - roughly an hour of play time, then pizza / cake and then back to the gym to burn through all of the sugar. Highly recommended for a kids party and I have to imagine that the normal classes are just as good. Great find for the neighborhood. read more

My 2 year old son took a class here and we all loved it. The staff is incredible, and goes out of their way to make you feel welcome. They always greeted my son by his first name as we walked in the door. The open play is excellent too. Both of my kids took classes at My Gym from the time they were eight months old until they started nursery school full time. They both had wonderful experiences. To this day, singing the hello song will make both kids clap and cheer. In addition to the kids having a lot of fun, I appreciated the flexible make-up classes, the availability of drop-in sessions and the ability to cancel when our needs changed without being locked into a particular session length. I'm so happy we found the My Gym on 83rd when our daughter was 13 months. She just turned 3 and had her birthday party there. Not only did they do an amazing job and all the kids had a blast, but it was so special to see how they tailored the activities to my daughter's likes and strengths because they've truly taken the time to get to know her over the years. Hosted my 4 yo son's birthday party for over 20 kids and the staff was absolutely amazing. We received many compliments regarding their ability to keep the kids engaged. My son thoroughly enjoys classes at My Gym UES twice a week and we just celebrated his 3rd birthday party there today. I could not ask for anything more! Emily and Karine ran our party and are the utmost professionals, with unbelievable energy and enthusiasm. They prepared everything beautifully, ran a variety of fun, engaging, entertaining activities throughout the party (at least 6-8 different physical activities for the kids to do, in addition to free time) and were genuinely excited and happy to be a part of the celebration. My son was so happy to see them and all my guests remarked on what a fantastic party it was. The space may not look so large, initially, but the layout is perfect...tables set up in the front area for pizza and snacks, with play space changing constantly based on the activity. Our son has been attending My Gym since he was 3 months old (now 2 years old) and we attribute his fantastic development to the wonderful staff at My Gym, Kiki, Sarah and Emily are like part of the family and our son talks about them non-stop. He comes home and wants to show off all the skills he has learned physically, but also his mental development is exceeding our wildest expectations because they also focus on teaching him things like colors, the ABCs, how to share and be a good friend. We absolutely love My Gym and are so lucky that we have this great "home away from home" for our son in the neighborhood.
