We have been coming here for over a year- when we started my daughter was barely starting to take steps now shes running and jumping. My gym has been very helpful in her building her physical and social skills. She loves the skills stations and that every week it is a different adventure. This place is amazing for toddlers. We attended a 3rd birthday party here on Saturday, and everything looked like it went so well! Everything is fun and well organized. We took the Green Line and walked the last few blocks to get here. My 21 month old son was asleep most of the way to get here. He was still waking up when he walked in, we gave him a little snack and some water, and then he went into the gym part. He was instantly SO EXCITED. He was running around and laughing. For a birthday party, they have a ton of organized parts that are perfect for toddlers. The staff here is fantastic. My 21 month old was not old enough to be interested in taking part of any of the organized activities. But he was so happy to run around on the cushiony floors, climb up the different sections, go down slides, go in the ball pit, jump on the trampoline, etc. I think the activities might be more appreciated by 3+, but the party was still great for all of the toddlers! The party was 1.5 hours long, and the last 15-20ish minutes were food and cake in the lobby area. So food stays separate from the gym part. If this place were closer to me, I would host our next couple of birthday parties here. They have toddler toilet seat as well as koala care changing station in the bathroom. read more

This location is great. The staff are friendly to my children and others. They do a good job of engaging and encouraging kids while still letting them explore (even during circle times). I'd definitely recommend them for open gym, classes and parties. Their online portal on the other hand I give one star (so won't slight this location with that review). It's horrendous and just not what one expects from a gym. I'd expect to be able to schedule one-off drop ins for my kids. However you can't do that online but only scheduled recurring classes, which will bill you right away. My wife, who does IT product management, thought she was an idiot when trying to schedule a single drop in class. I felt the same way when trying to. It shouldn't be this hard and I have to imagine is scaring away customers including myself. read more

My daughter took her first class here today and had a blast. I was so happy to find them as one of the few places that has figured out how to reopen safely during Covid. The class had only 3 children and an excellent instructor. Everyone wore masks, sanitized and maintained distance, but the kids were still able to have fun. They got to run, jump on the trampoline and sing songs. Such a great resource especially since it's so cold outside. We're excited to go back next week! read more

My son has finished 2 classes on in the age group 3+ Good: 1. The routine is good. 2. The facility is clean and staff good too. 3. Every Monday they change the setup and the routine is different. Things not thrilled about 1. The price but that seems to be city standard 2. They say you can drop and go but my son fell down and was stuck in one of the block during the free time and he was crying but since they had music on no one noticed it was when we ran toward him did the teacher come. So I am currently not going to consider it a drop off class. 3. Some kids are really big as its a mix of 2 classes and they over power the younger kid during free time. Hoping the good will improve with time and bad go down. read more

I sent my daughter, and I loved the attention and the safety of this place! She made friends that she always jumped for joy to see, and jump she did! It's a great place for a socially-active and athletic toddler, but my girl got bored of the routine by age 3 and wanted to explore the world outside of a MyGym. The instructors were great, and trustworthy, especially given the fact that I am leaving my child in their care as she does cannon ball dives into the ball pit! read more

For the 3 and under set, this is probably as good as it gets. Floors are cushion-y, lots of things to crawl on/ around/in, tons of different things to play with. The gym set up changes weekly. The teachers are great and classes are well structured. We go because our house is not a play gym, plus the teachers help take the babies/tots to the next level- as a first time parent- there are things the teachers do with the babies that I would have never thought of(think headstandy stuff), but they work and it's very natural and now we do them at home too! read more

The first day, when we had a free class, it was such a great experience. And my kid had alot of fun. But after we signed up, I got very dissatisfied. Second class, was nothing like the introduction class. And today, we were the only kid although we came by schedule, and they didn't bother to give us a lesson. I am very dissapointed. read more

I went to a free trail of "tiny tykes" The age group is 6-12 months... The staff was friendly enough, but not as enthusiastic as I would have preferred. My son isn't really all that mobile yet... So a lot (All except the swings) of the activities Were not really good for him... I might consider rechecking it out when my little guy is on the move.... But not likely, the staff did very little to inform me of why the program would be beneficial to me/my son. read more

The birthday parties are great and so are the classes! My daughter took classes there between the ages of 1-2 and it was fun for her and myself. Also, we've attended 2 birthday parties there and they're very well run and I'm going to have her 5th birthday there. I am so glad that I decided NOT to sign my children up for this program. I heard things but I wanted to make sure. So I can say that this is a very unprofessional program. The owner is clueless. You ask her something and she doesn't know. How can you not know and you are in charge!? Then there is a woman there named nayelli who has the worst attitude. She is very nasty and rude. Definitely needs to work some where without people because she is miserable. read more

I absolutely love this place I have been taking my sons here for a two months! Miss Nallely is absolutely amazing with the wee ones. She is so hands on! Clean place. My son and I started coming to MyGym when he was a few months away from turning two and after the free introductory class we signed up because he loved it so much. Every class is fun and he looks forward to it all week. You register for a given class at a set time each week but we have never had any problem when missing a class and coming on a different day, even without notifying the instructors. Once you come to a few classes they all recognize you and know your child's name. The classes are 50 minutes each but they pack in a ton of activities - and a nice mix of structured and unstructured play so that your child gets to roam freely sometimes but also spends some time following instructions (especially good for toddlers!). Great experience every time and even though there are some structures that look daunting I've never seen a kid hurt themselves. The closest I've seen is once when my son was jumping on the trampoline and fell over and said his foot hurt. An instructor magically appeared with an ice pack and gave it to him. They're all that attentive and friendly. Definitely recommended for toddlers. read more

My husband and I chose to have our daughter's fourth birthday here -- based on the other positive Yelp reviews -- and we couldn't have been more thrilled with the experience. We had a small group of kids (ages 4-5) and they all had so much fun. The staff members were SO good with the kids, especially Mr. Johnathan. He kept them engaged, laughing and running around playing games the whole time. Not once did a smile leave his face. My daughter loved all the special birthday girl attention. She was "line leader" and was the first to try all the new activities and games. One of the cutest moments was right before we all sang Happy Birthday. The staff members helped her put on a "Birthday Princess" hat and wand and pulled her through the gym on a little sled while she waved to all her friends and family. I know she felt like a true princess because she had the biggest smile on her face! So sweet. The staff members were friendly, organized and professional and the facility was clean and safe. They even made sure to help each of the kids use hand sanitizer before going back out on the floor after eating (a huge plus for this germaphobe momma). They put a real effort into handling everything so that parents are just able to relax and watch the kids have fun. I would not hesitate to have another party here in a heartbeat. My two kids were invited to a birthday party here, and... Zoo-Wee-Mama... this place is 'the bomb'! The two very attentive young ladies kept the little ones entertained for an hour and a half. There was laughing and running and climbing and jumping. Even some of the adults got into it. My wife was given a turn on the zip-line and it was a minor miracle that she didn't end up in the ER with a busted rib from laughing so hard. read more

I enjoy bringing my son here when we are in town. They staff for the most part friendly and helpful. My son loves being able to interact with other kids. You also get wonderful photo ops and the other families are very nice as well. I definitely will purchase a membership and continue to bring my son. read more

I read about this place in "Going Places" magazine. I decided to book it for my sons 6TH birthday, I had many doubts about spending $360 on a child's party, however it was well worth every cent! When we arrived it was already set up, plates napkins and all, the staff lead the party from the very start and kept the children engaged to the very end, with running and jumping games, climbing, hide and seek, free play, bubbles, and a really cool zip line! The 2 staff members were able to keep the attention of 15 kids, ages ranging from 3 to 10. They danced, they laughed, they threw balls and had a blast! The staff conducted the flow of the entire party, they even packed up the gifts, passed out the pizza and cut the cake, I did NOTHING! It was the most well organized party I have ever given, The children had so much fun, my 6 year old didn't want to leave. We also had a few kids that needed extra attention with a few behavior issues and the staff was able to positively redirect them with no problem. This was money well spent! I would do it again for sure. read more

I have to say, when I first noticed this around town, I thought the idea of an indoors place where kids presumably "got fit" was ridiculous. I admit I was so, so wrong. My kid loves -- LOVES -- this place. Every week the setup/obstacles change. He has done more climbing, jumping, dangling, sliding, balancing, swinging, ziplining, and ball-pit-swimming than he could have experienced at all the local parks combined. That is not even conveying the entire MyGym experience, where he basically goes to one age-grouped class per week (unlimited in the summer months) and then I can take him to the three additional free play times, too. The class uses guided song, movement, instructions, games, so it is a social experience too. The teachers are all really great. They love the kids, so their enthusiasm makes what is essentially a planned script fun and educational for them. I am continually impressed at the creativity of the setups, games, and stories done there, and at how they seem to influence the development of my kid. It is expensive but worth it, especially in the winter months. read more

This place is wonderful. We just had our son's 3rd birthday there and it couldn't have been easier for the parents, and couldn't have been more fun for the kids! They had everything a little one would want - fun games and jumping around, zip line, ball pit, piñata, bubbles, and more - and they made the birthday boy feel so very special throughout. We started My Gym when my son was about 10 mos old. He is almost 3 now and we still love it so much! I attribute many of his skills to their program - Confidence, an Ability to Wait & Listen, Balance, Play Well with Others, etc. Staff is wonderful and turn-over is low. It is also a great value for what become one-hr classes when your child is old enough and there are so many "Open Gym" sessions you can take advantage of too. The most amazing thing is that we have been coming weekly for two years and I have never seen the same class twice! They keep the format the same so the kids know what is coming next but the activities and room changes all the time. They also really encourage both Caregivers and Kids to try new skills and activities. It is also very clean and they replace equipment regularly. Wonderful place. We will not be stopping our My Gym visits anytime soon! read more

So, this place has great activities and my daughter loves it. But, the 3 stars are for the price and lack of available classes/play time. I wouldn't mind the cost, but the little time slots offered for classes (esp. for a working parent) are not convenient at all and quite limited. Plus, they say the cost includes the play time, which again are at rare and inconvenient hours for a working parent. Basically, you pay $79/month (MORE including registration) for 4 measly sessions. I think we could get more for our money elsewhere. read more

My daughter attended here for almost a year. We stopped going because we moved. She had a blast during classes. When we walked in the door she would run towards the gate that goes into the play area, usually before I was ready. The teachers were all great, they interact really well with the kids. They get that toddlers have grumpy days and go with the flow. During the summer they run a special where you can go to unlimited classes, this made it a great deal. read more

my daughter has been a member for about 8 months (she started at about 2.5 years old). This was her first structured class of any kind and the first week she was a little apprehensive, but by the third week - she was loving it and going was her favorite thing to do. The classes have free play mixed with different activities. It never seems like "the same old thing" because they have so many different activities and bring out different stuff for free play. The biggest hits always seem to be the trampoline, the big container of balls that the kids jump in, and the giant swings that hold multiple children. The instructors are amazing and very good with all the children - my daughter loves them. Lots of fun. I'm always tempted to jump on the trampoline, but I just watch my daughter have the time of her life - like a good parent. Silly daddy, my gym is for kids. read more

I had my baby's first birthday party at the My Gym in Wheaton and We all had a ball. I recommended it to a friend for her daughters party. She booked the party for the My Gym closest to her which was here at River Forest. I was excited to be back at My Gym but I was let down quickly. The staff there seemed disconnected to the kids and appeared stressed like they had a long day. Most of the staff pushed through and kept a semi smile on for the kids but one seemed as if she was highly irritated. The kids were excited to be in open play area and she was way too serious for the occasion. There was one incident where this lady had the kids in a circle with the parachute and some of the smaller kids ran underneath because kids love playing under a lifted cover or parachute. Well she must have been irritated by this behavior to the fullest because she gave my son an extra push that sent him flying into my friends lap. I was taken back by it but I didn't want to ruin a little girls party by showing how upset I was. I will say I know this was the last party of the day and the lady did appear irritated but I'm trying to believe that the hard push was accidental. To continue with my dissatisfaction of the place. There was no balloons or happy birthday banners up anywhere to show that it was a birthday party and to top it off when it was bubble time these people ran a long cord through the middle of the floor with a tray of soap water and a box fan to blow the bubbles I felt like they could surely invest in a bubble machine seeing that these parties are not free. I wouldn't go back to the My Gym in River Forest. read more
