I was also able to pick up some much needed small paint brushes for only $5! Take a look at the photo. Don't they look better than the $1 brushes you get at the hardware store or big box stores? Not to mention, half inch wide brushes can be hard to find. They also have a selection of art from local artists available for purchase. I wish I had more time to peruse the selection because from what I saw there were some very interesting pieces.

The woman working on the day we visited, I presume the owner, was very sweet. She was even creating her own art while she greeted customers. My MIL and I both left with some really cute greetings cards. New Leaf has a great selection of designs and quality you won't find at your local drugstore (think Etsy quality). I haven't gifted the cards I purchased. I'm considering framing them and using them as art. The cards I purchased were designed by an artist from Michigan. Jewelry, scarves, stationery, art, trinkets are just a few of the things you'll find at New Leaf. You can feel good about anything you purchase - you're shopping local and supporting area artists. As we took a closer look at the items, it became clear that this was a store filled with artist's unique work. The store is small and packed, so really look closely in all the corners, because you never know what treasure you might find. We found and purchased a few things as gifts for ourselves and others.
