I hired Albert a few months ago to remove a large couch from my home. All went well and we discussed doing a second job at some point down the line. We needed to move some items from a private garage in Boca Raton to a condo in Delray Beach. One would think this would be a fairly simple move, right? Read on to see how this move panned out. We put our trust in Albert to move two pieces of high end furniture along with some very sentimental items that can not be replaced, including urns, bar mitzvah albums, etc. I can go on but you get the drift. Granted, this company is a junk hauler and some things were indeed being dumped. However, the personal items that were to be kept were packed in such a way and with such care, even a moron would be able to tell these boxes were NOT garbage. In fact, Albert and my friends ex-wife had a long detailed conversation about both the furniture and which boxes were to be saved. The value of the furniture was also discussed as it was custom made and of great quality. Why did we use a junk hauler to move such sensitive and sentimental belongings? I always make a point to use independently owned businesses whenever possible, and Albert appeared to be a decent guy. A family man trying to provide for his family. Let's face it, during a national pandemic, we must be careful with who we allow into our homes. At this point we had an established relationship with Albert and we were trying to help him earn some money by giving him a small local move. If you follow me and read my reviews, then you know me well enough to know I never sugar coat anything-ever. I'm straight and to the point, so when I say this guy can not and should not be trusted, I mean this 100%. He came to the door and told us he "accidentally" dumped EVERYTHING! Yes, the two pieces of custom designed furniture as well as the meticulously packed boxes that contained so many precious memories/items. He dumped urns for God's sake! And speaking of God, Albert told us he is a Christian several times. What does that even mean? I'm Jewish, but do I remind my clients I am Jewish whenever I screw up? Of course not! We can all fabricate stories; such as "accidentally" dumping expensive furniture, but please tell me where religion even fits into this subject. If I accidentally placed a lien on a clients property, would claiming I am Jewish have anything to do with this? It wouldn't even belong in the conversation, right? Example: Mr Smith, I am so very sorry but I accidently put a lien on your home~BUT I AM JEWISH. WTF does religion have to do with anything??? Albert did give us a small loveseat he claimed was brand new he purchased the previous day. I don't believe him, in fact, I believe he kept it from a previous move. Just my opinion, not a fact. Listen, this review is solely based upon my own personal experience. Do I think this guy is respectable? Absolutely not. Honest? Again, a hard no from me. And to reiterate, this review is based on my own experience with this company. The facts don't lie. We hired him to do a small job, he fudged up, but because he is Christian, that makes it okay??? We recently used My Junk Genie to remove a giant lot of decorative stone from my backyard and they did an absolutely wonderful job. I priced out a few companies, but they had the best price and quickest availability. On the day of the appointment they showed up as promised and let us know in advance when they were on the way, which was appreciated. Considering that there's still a pandemic going on, I also liked that that the entire process was no contact. I didn't have to walk them through the job (just sent a photo) and they in return snapped a photo to verify it was done. They also take digital payment, so it's a seamless socially distanced experience. As for the job, it went very well! The stones they removed must have weighed 25 lbs each and there were at least 100 of them. They knocked it all out in about half an hour. I was impressed. It would have taken me 2 days and the destruction of my back to get it done. I would definitely recommend My Junk Genie if you have any junk removal needs. These guys are really awesome. read more

I thought things went smoothly until I went out to my car the next day and saw the driver side door all scratched up. I had just picked my dad up from the hospital and because the car was with the valet, I had checked really carefully for any damages. Plus, these scrapes would have been hard to miss. And the scrapes weren't from another vehicle, clearly something--like a dolly or other junk--scraped up against the care. Bryan said they take 100% responsibility for any damages but claimed they didn't do this. I don't believe them so hire at your own risk and check VERY carefully everything before they leave. I didn't bargain for car repair when I hired them.. The car was checked and in perfect shape BEFORE my junk genie showed up. So BS on your reply to me. read more

My roomate hired Albert and his crew to remove some old furniture from my Condo. I found the experience both positive and affordable. My roomate asked if he could also bring the new couch and chair, extremely expensive furniture and some personal effects. I remember the words-it's a new business and I have a wife and baby and your nice people, sure. The date was eventually set for to this Saturday. Albert and I had a long conversation about the quality of the furniture as he did with my exwife, whose home we were moving from. Also with my personal effects where my parents urns, my Haftorah, my college degree-all of the effects I have saved. My requirements were in writing and we spoke with all 3 of the men. I will leave it at that-Albert said he junked all of belongings it out of habit? Habit? This was thousands of dollars of stuff AND INVALUABLE FAMILY ARTIFACTS. And he said he was sorry. My ex husband and I recently sold our home, and the night before final cleaning was to be done for the buyer, we realized how much trash we had... none of which we had a place to take it to! We came back to our condo last night after a few months away and immediately discovered that something was very very wrong. Our trusty refrigerator had stopped working while were gone and all the frozen meat inside had turned into a stinking mass of liquid death. I went straight to Yelp to find out who I could call to get the fridge out of our lives - out of 4 companies I tried, one had an opening next week and two others said we needed to empty the fetid glop out first (we couldn't even go in the kitchen due to the stench, much less open that freezer door). But Albert at My Junk Genie cheerfully told us that he and Bryan could be over in just a few hours, would seal up the up the whole mess and whisk it away, and charge us an amazingly reasonable price for almost literally saving our lives. And folks that's just what they did. There's not enough good adjectives in the English language to describe the service they provided us but a small sample would include responsive, efficient, respectful, quick, friendly, caring, and epic. And I have to tell you that after the fridge was out and Albert grabbed a mop and voluntarily started cleaning up the reeking sludge left behind on our floor, I just about wept tears of gratitude. Five stars because everything they did was top-notch. My initial call of inquiry was returned within minutes, Bryan getting all the details in quick order. We were able to schedule pickup within 2 hours, and the two-men-crew showed up right on time. Our warehouse space was cleared-out and swept within an hour, the items removed were headed to the dump. Here I must remark, these men took better care of our discarded items than certain professional movers have taken during household moves. Did I mention the price was very reasonable? I used these guys back in October and they were super friendly and VERY helpful. I was in a pinch and needed junk gone from a home I moved out from on the last day and they came through when no one else could and were very reasonable. On top of that as they were leaving I ran into an issue with a leaking sprinkler that was making a huge mess in my neighbor's lawn and they went above and beyond and even helped me shut that off. My mom sold her winter home of 20+ years in FL and we had to empty it. Most of the furniture and accessories went to a consignment shop but we didn't know what to do with patio furniture, mattresses, box springs and a giant amoire, which apparently no one wants any more. The realtor recommended My Junk Genie. Albert's guys were on time and extremely pleasant. They accidentally loaded some furniture that was being picked up by Habitat for Humanity later that day and they pleasantly unloaded it. I'm sure it was poor communication on my part as I was really busy. They were great. Then Habitat for Humanity came and rejected the furniture. I was in a panic because I live in CO and I was flying home the next day and the house needed to be empty when I left. I called Albert and explained what happened.
