We were even hesitant to take a birth class at all--but we're so grateful we took Lisa Greaves' class. While we're planning a hospital birth, we hope to avoid a C-section if possible, and Lisa's class truly empowered us to feel comfortable and informed about all of our options. We learned about laboring at home longer, pain management strategies both with and without medication, and how to advocate for ourselves throughout the process. By the final session, we felt much more knowledgeable about pre- and postnatal care and genuinely prepared to welcome our baby. We also really appreciated the sense of community and the additional resources the class provides. Can't recommend it enough!

We came into class feeling excited but very nervous about this next chapter and left feeling so much more confident and prepared for both birth and the newborn stage. We loved Lisa's thoughtful approach - blending evidence-based information with compassionate, personalized support in a way that felt holistic, reassuring, and never fear-based. 10/10 - Highly recommend to any expecting parents looking for a childbirth class that feels both realistic and deeply supportive! Thank you, Lisa!

Our labor was long and difficult, and overall, Paige was with us for over 55 hours straight. She was incredibly supportive throughout the entire journey and was there for me 100% even though it meant she had to miss class that day and missed about a night and a half of sleep. She stayed with me after the birth and helped me nurse my baby for the first time. We spoke often those first few weeks after my daughter's birth and she was so supportive and reassured me that I was doing a great job. Since my daughters birth 5 years ago, Paige and I have remained close and she is my go to person when I need support naturally balancing my hormones and nutrition, when I have questions about infant behaviors and sleep, and when I just need to speak to someone who is positive, and kind, and always supportive. I feel so lucky to have Paige in our lives and I highly recommend her services.

Wow let me start off by saying thank you Paige! I have been dealing with ph imbalance / gut related…read moreissues for the past year and a half. It's been SO frustrating. Although my issues are pretty common with other women, it's been so painful and annoying to the point where I would cry. I would go to my internal medicine doctor and gyno at least once a month and each time I was treated without empathy and prescribed the same medication with absolutely no actual solution to the root of my problem. No matter what doctor I saw or how much money I spent on medication the problem would come back after a few days. I started losing hope in getting any better since even these "medical professionals" couldn't help me. I came across Paige's Instagram one day randomly and saw that she posted a lot about her experiences and education with women's health. I wanted to take a more holistic approach on my health and even got off birth control after 7 years to give my body a break and feel as natural as possible. I reached out to Paige through social media and I am so happy I did! I scheduled a one-on-one FaceTime constellation with her and wow she went above and beyond than anyone else has. Talking to her was like talking to a best friend - it was comfortable and natural only with a lot more educational and legit information! Paige took her time and evaluated my daily lifestyle (from what I eat, sleep patterns, stress, etc) after that she gave me a wide variety of recommendations on how to heal my gut internally and externally as well as how to ease the process of getting off birth control. She had so much valuable information and offered affordable and realistic approaches on how to heal myself. There is no overnight remedy for anything and although she didn't prescribe me a one and done cure, she suggested many lifestyle changes that would help me in the long run and my overall health - not just for my gut issues. I've been applying a lot of her recommendations, such as dietary changes and adding probiotics and supplements to my daily routine. Wow wow I have already seen more of a change in a little over a month than I have seen in over a year of visiting doctors monthly. I am so grateful I met Paige! She made me feel like I wasn't alone and that things would be better! She was so empathetic and patient with me! I would definitely recommend her to anyone having health problems - especially women! Not only is she so wise and sweet but also provides affordable services! She has even followed up with more than once after our consultation! I am truly grateful the universe brought me to this angel! Although I am getting better I will definitely be setting up more consultations with her in the future. Thank you Paige for being so caring and most importantly so real. Your passion for what you do is what makes you stand out. In a world where western medicine dominates, we need more people like Paige for our future. 10/10 would recommend!

To be very honest...I didn't even know what a doula is or if I needed one. But being a FTM, I had so many questions and worries about giving birth. I started to do research, and was recommended to check out Annette. And I am so glad I did! From the first conversation, I knew I was in the right hands. I am anxious and an over-thinker, but thankfully Annette's expertise and calming nature helped ease all of that. Most importantly, she helped me become informed in all of my options - so I was able to make the best choices for me and my baby throughout the whole experience - especially when dealing with doctors (which can be rather intimidating). Finally, she was also beyond helpful and reassuring to my support person, my mother...as the two of them together helped me welcome my son into this world. Annette takes on many roles while helping - a coach, a best friend, a cheerleader, an educator and many more. My family is forever thankful to her, and highly recommend having her in your corner to anyone on the beautiful, yet sometimes rather wild, pregnancy journey.

Knowing that…read moreI was hoping to have an all-natural birth, and also knowing that my partner's tolerance for seeing me in pain is quite low, I was insistent on having a doula be a part of our birth story. I did a lot of research and we interviewed two potential doulas. Both seemed beyond qualified, but from the minute Annette entered our living room, it was like having a long lost friend come over. We chatted very easily. She guided our discussion, asking pertinent questions to make sure the fit was mutual. We had another sit-down a month or so before my due date to go over questions and review our desires. She went over our birth plan and reassured us that it would all go well. Fast forward to my water breaking and contractions starting. My wife was in constant contact with Annette throughout the night. The next morning when my labor was progressing, Annette came over. She was amazing. Reassuring and calm, her presence was the perfect blend of taking charge and letting our birth story unfold naturally. She guided me through breathing and various positions. When my contractions plateaued, she encouraged us to walk the dog around the block to get them started again. Her soothing and knowledgeable demeanor was encouraging and the exact support not only I needed, but my partner needed as well. She guided my wife to being the perfect support throughout. She knew exactly when to call the Lyft. We got to the hospital and our baby arrived 45 minutes later. I was hoping to be in the birth center at Mt Sinai West (which has since shut down), and found out it was closed. Thankfully, Annette guided us to laboring as much at home as possible - which was my requested goal. She was in the delivery room, and stayed until our baby learned how to latch (and he learned well - a year later he's still a breastfed baby). She was available for questions throughout the next few weeks. She came over two days later to make sure all was going well. I cannot rave enough about the virtues of having a doula throughout the birth experience - Annette was the perfect one for us!

First off I would just like to say that if you are checking out this page and CHB doesn't have a…read moreton of reviews yet it's because I liked the weekend intensive course so much that I asked Samantha to create a Yelp account for CHB. They have been around for many years (since 2011) and are very experienced. My only "negative" feedback is that when I was looking for a Childbirth Intensive class to do I wasn't able to see any reviews on Yelp for peace of mind :) That said, pregnancy is stressful business, especially for first time parents. What to expect as we get closer to the end of the pregnancy? What's up with this or that weird thing your body and baby are doing? The stressful anticipation of the big day. How are we going to do all of this together? And not to mention the overriding sense of "oh shit when this is all done it's just going to be starting".... So professional help is very welcome and NEEDED. The Childbirth Weekend Intensive with Samantha was beyond professional. It was clear that she and Melissa, who was assisting her, were doulas and educators because they are very passionate about helping women and couples have a positive and meaningful birth experience. When I originally imagined the weekend intensive course I imagined two packed and stressful days spent just jamming information into our minds, but what I experienced was the absolute opposite. The pace of the course was perfect and didn't feel overwhelming as the term "intensive" would suggest. Asking questions at any point about anything was encouraged. The other couples at the course were hugely beneficial to the overall experience since we all brought different types of questions to the table. We all learned a lot about the biology of birth, strategies for managing paying, strategies for having a good experience at the hospital, and really we received a solid foundation for coping with everything that we had ahead of us. At the end of the weekend we did not feel overwhelmed but rather empowered. I would also like to stress that I think it's unusual to interact with someone teaching a course that seems to care so much about your experience and your outcomes. Samantha's empathy and caring really stood out for me and she was also very knowledgeable and able to competently answer all of our questions (even the weird over technical ones). So THANK YOU CHB and Samantha for getting us emotionally and intellectually prepared for the big day and beyond!

She is a wealth of knowledge when it comes to babies and parenting. We crammed in so much helpful information in just two days! She provided handouts and was open to all questions and topic discussions. Hilary is absolutely incredible. To be quite honest, she was my first experience with a doula. I always had a misconception that doulas were against any sort of medication during the birthing process and always naively pictured home births in a bath tub ;) I was so wrong! Hilary is supportive of all kinds of birth plans. The great thing about her is she has experience in all of them and never passes judgement. We highly recommend taking these classes with her... whether you're novices like my husband and me, or pros like some of the other couples who also took the classes with us and equally found it incredibly helpful. Now that we feel super prepared, we just need to safely get this baby out :) We are now hoping to use Hilary as our birth doula if she is available, as she was very calming for an anxious person like me, and seems like she would be assertive as the baby's advocate if need be.
