We booked this place based on the 5 star reviews. For the record, we do love charming, old, mom n pop style motels. This is far from a 5 star motel. We stayed for 3 nights but we did consider leaving on our first day. We had a queen "suite". I was told it was the only room available when we booked. I called a few days ahead to see if there was a king available. I also asked upon check in and the next day. I didn't really get a response just a head nod. There were very few people there and very few cars. I am pretty sure there were several rooms available. The bad: room was far from clean. Kitchen supplies were all mismatched and looked like garage sale items. No bowl to make a salad. I had to use a pot. No dish soap, cupboard doors broken, ceiling vent falling out, broken hairdryer, VERY uncomfortable bed - like sleeping on a cardboard box. I asked for a new hairdryer and was told they didn't have anymore. (Then go buy one. You are a motel) I had to buy my own. So why did we stay? The property did have some charm. We were able to easily walk to town. We were able to enjoy our outings in Wickenburg. We sat on our little porch and enjoyed the weather. The room was tolerable and short term. There is so much potential for it to actually be 5 star but it needs a lot of love and attention! read more

We stayed one night at My Place after being given a recommendation but were sadly disappointed at the state of our suite re. cleanliness and general shabbiness despite the nightly price which matched that of higher end hotels in Phoenix which also provided full breakfast . The bed was clean and comfortable, as were bath linens but floors were filthy as was toilet and the shower curtain wasn't nearly long enough to prevent water going everywhere. It was not the worst place we have ever stayed and perhaps the fact we arrived New Years Day contributed to our disappointment due to staffing issues, but nevertheless it is not somewhere we will visit again, despite the efforts of the charming young man who greeted us at the front desk. read more

Good grief...I tried to post a review previously and it never posted! Luckily I came back today to update with some photos and found this draft to finish. I've stayed at this place repeatedly now, and I wouldn't stay anywhere else in AZ if I could help it. This property is centrally located and has easy access to the downtown area as well as local restaurants. Most hotels in Wickenburg are too far to one side of town or the other to be convenient. Every single trip I make to this property is exciting because it's an entirely new hotel every time. The owners purchased a couple of years ago, and renovated right away, but the upgrades and innovations don't stop. The lush gardens and wonderful eclectic touches of personality across the property are ever-evolving, including the recently added meditation labyrinth. This is a fantastic boutique hotel, with an atmosphere of occasional and perhaps accidental B&B. You never know when the owner is going to put on an impromptu outdoor movie night around the firepit; or share fresh-baked bread or homemade stew or home-baked cakes with all of the guests. This was a very sweet & cozy non standard hotel. I made the mistake of getting the small studio which (was charming!) but the bed was a full size. I would stay again only in a little larger room. I cant say enough nice things about this place.....My favorite part of staying here was meeting the owner Mila. She is a wonderful host and her love and genuine hospitality are expressed all throughout the property. When you meet her you cant help but love her right away. I was there during the colder months and really enjoyed sitting out by the fire pit at night and visiting with everyone. The rooms are clean and each one is decorated nicely. They've got a little bit of a cabin feel and comfort to them vs staying in a drabby hotel which are all more expensive than staying here if I remember correctly. ........To me its a no brainer. This is the spot you want to stop at if your staying in Wickenburg!!! read more

This is THE relaxing and friendly place to stay in Wickenburg. Small, cozy, and friendly. Formerly the Blue Diamond Lodge, the new owners (August 2013) have completely transformed it into a relaxing paradise. You wouldn't recognize it if you'd seen it before; totally cleaned up and beautiful. Their personal touch is everywhere. Our room had everything we needed, a full mini kitchen with pots and pans, dishes, utensils. Comfortable design. It feels like you're staying in someone's well-designed home, and not a hotel. best of all, the owners are friendly and really care about their guests. We probably received the friendliest welcome ever to a hotel! Milla, the owner is delightful and we chatted about her homeland of Bosnia. Our room was spotless. We had booked a double and I wish we had upgraded to a queen, as the bed was a bit small, but she did warn me. We were only staying one night, so not a big deal, but next time we will opt for the upgrade. The hotel is located right off Highway 60, so there is some traffic noise, but not too bad, and it's really like a little oasis in the desert. And the other guests were super nice too. A weary traveler, I decided to drive through Wickenburg on my way back to Tucson and am thrilled I did. This place is a sanctuary. Milla, the proprietress-par-excellence, is attentive but low-key. I didn't get the chance to meet her husband but he is onsite as well. The room was immaculate and I slept like a baby, and even though it is close to the road, I did not hear any traffic noise. The songs sung around the fire pit were all that were needed to lull me to sleep. Ruby, my Min Pin, got along well with the resident dogs; she's a sucker for puppies and there were two - along with their Mama, Joy. I highly recommend staying at My Place Suites - it is a home away from home and you will be treated like family. I feel like I was reunited with a long-lost sister and I will most definitely be back for another hug. read more

I can't express enough my love for my place suites. The property itself is warm and inviting, relaxing and blissful, beautiful all around. The owners are so wonderful, and have become dear friends of my family and I. They have an outdoor kitchen where they cool traditional meals and grounds including a pool and a rock garden. It is an area of complete peace. The fire pit at night becomes a old tradition of folks gathering around and sharing stories in this rustic western town. I LOVE my place suites. An oasis in the desert. Very comfy, super clean, little luxury details, lush vegetation, brightly colored flowers, and privacy, privacy, privacy. Everywhere you look, you will see that My Place is tended with love by the owner. We stayed for the weekend - a couple and 2 small dogs - and enjoyed all of it. We also liked that we could walk a half-mile to the historic downtown's restaurants and shops. I would expect to find a place like this in Sedona, but here it is in Wickenburg for just a fraction of the price. The old wild west feel of the town carried over into the decor, with love added everywhere (look for heart shapes in the landscape and unexpected places). The bed was as nice as ours at home; good shower with hot water; AC works well; lots of places to sit for a spell outside amongst mother nature and very few people. This is what boutique hotels are supposed to be: unique and special. read more

Milla is one of the BEST hostesses that anyone could ever meet. This was my favorite of any place I've ever stayed and I've stayed all over the USA. I had gotten lost and when Miila heard the story, she came over to me and hugged me. It was such a wonderful thing to do and so unexpected. The King studio was my choice and I was not disappointed. The room was spotless, the accommadations were wonderful and the bed was so comfortable; I slept the best for my two nights stay. I live in AZ but 200 miles away and I can say I will return for a staycation because the property is tranquil, the rooms are wonderful, the price is great and I will enjoy seeing Milla again. read more

This would be great for an extended stay, as it includes a kitchen, flat screen tv, comfy furniture. Room was spotless and bath had little shampoos. It was so healing and restful! Just what I needed to come back to at the end of the day, I felt right at home. I enjoyed both the pool and the labrynth. The best place to stay in Wickenberg My husband and I loved loved this beautiful and charming place of rest and comfort. Clean, comfy, welcoming, charming, relaxing and worth the trip. The only place I'd stay in Wickenburg, and frankly the only reason we went. Milla the host is generous and kind and entertaining. The grounds are kept immaculate and the decorations are well thought out and cared for. The rooms are spacious and large, the bed is super comfortable and rooms very clean. After seeing our large sweet and kitchen, we wished we would have planned to stay longer. My mom and dad called us the previous week from My Place Suites and told my husband and I that we just had to go, well my parents don't often make recommendations like that... but New Year's was coming up and my husband and I decided to treat ourselves to something fun and so we went ahead and went for New Year's eve. It was not what we expected, it was comfortable and quaint more similar to a bed and breakfast with the hospitality. We were greeted by a wonderful couple from Canada and in host Mila at the fire pit, they were in deep conversation but welcomed us immediately. Milla had baked the most delicious cookies. We shared spirits and great conversation around the fire pit and rang in the new year together. Another guest who joined us partway through the evening states sh had come to Wickenberg for a very difficult family situation and she was so happy to be ringing the New Year in together with us and ended up having such a good time. It can be a place of rest and relaxation and a wonderful place to gather with a group of friends or a family reunion, which we plan to do it in the future. Call ahead and see if Milla has anything planned as the My Suites seems to be an extension of her home and I heard rumor of a shared meal. My husband and I plan on inviting several other couples to join us and staying for a few days and spend our days hiking and enjoying that area and coming home to Millas hospitality and the wonderful accommodations. I love this place and will definitely return again. The room was SPOTLESS. The grounds are beautiful. The owners are the nicest people in the world. We only stayed one night, but I feel like I made a friend in that short time. By the time we were checking out, Milla (the owner) was showing us her residence, the grounds and her adorable dogs.
