I went with my coworker on a tour of the facility and she felt the same right away. I have such a trusting relationship with Children's First and I am comfortable with everyone I come in contact with at the facility. They give daily reports on my children, so I know how they did during the day in regards to napping, eating, and playing. This is very important and critical to the comfort I feel every day.

(I am a foster to adopt mom and I also hold my license for this, so I try to remain as professional as possible in all situations.) I planned on leaving the facility after the Summer program ended and never looking back, but today was the final straw. The owner decided to speak to me in a very disrespectful deportment in front of children, parents, as well as staff members while picking up my son from the end of the year "Picnic in the Park" event. She loudly made ignorant comments and remarks to me from across the park in an ill-mannered way, as my son and I were leaving. This was the most loutish behavior I have seen thus far from someone who is supposed to be a professional with children under their care. This all originally started towards the beginning of her Summer program after she refused to apologize or even admit that she was wrong about incorrectly adding up the cost of all field trips for the Camp. She began by texting me at 6:44a.m. on Friday July 8, 2022 accusing me of cheating her out of funds for Summer activities. Please also keep in mind that I paid for everything in advance before it was even due. She was in fact incorrect and it was proven. Even with the error on her end she still refused to apologize and had the audacity to have an attitude with me, because she was proven wrong. She stormed out of the building at that time and even continued to show her haughty demeanor on a daily basis since the incident. If a parent is asking for clarification on something it is common courtesy to speak to them with respect; which the owner did not display. I wish that I could post the screenshots of the deranged text messages that were being sent to me by this woman, but it is against policy for Photos and Video Criteria. Hopefully I have been detailed enough though for those in need of a review. If I ever get the go ahead to post the screenshots of the text messages she sent to me I will gladly do this for any proof needed for fellow parents as they have been saved to my device for reference. I previously liked this facility, but I noticed the staff constantly changing and leaving one by one with no notice. She even lost an amazing retired CPS teacher (Mrs. Coleman) and I should have read the writing on the wall after her departure. At this point, the turnover rate is awful and now I understand why. I have witnessed her speaking poorly to her staff first hand and was in absolute shock that she did this in front of me as a parent instead of taking the employee into the office. Please do your due diligence when selecting any facility; as a level of trust is needed since your child is in their hands during the day. This was not the only incident, but after multiple run-ins with the owner, I do not trust that my child would be treated properly in her care. He will no longer be attending this daycare after today, but once again, make sure that you do your own homework in your selection process to make the best decision for your family. I have NEVER experienced this level of unprofessionalism from someone who is supposed to care for little children. I am just glad that my son will no longer be in attendance there.

If you work here: You will be overworked underpaid. It's a hectic workplace. You will be working with different grade levels students from KG to Grade 9 in the same room. All of them have different needs at the same time. For example; devices not working or not charged, they don't understand what their school teacher wants them to do, they take breaks at a different time, and you have to keep track of their breaks, or just upset because they are kids and have different moods. Working in a tiny room that teachers and students are tripping over each other. You will face a lot of conflicts from the lack of communication between the academy's director and owner. Finally, you meet the owner who is disrespectful and ungrateful. If you put your child here: You will face an unethical adult to child ratio, which opens doors to so many wrong things to happen to your child; neglect, accidents, being unsafe, or simply not being happy.

Then an incident happened with my child and when they showed me the video my child was left alone with a room full of children, at least 20, ranging from infants to school age. I watched the video for about 10 minutes before I stopped it and staff had still not returned to the room. They only had one staff to take care of all those children at that time. Stating to me that the other staff member had went to pick up children from school. So they were telling me that they only had 2 staff members to take care of about 20 children plus you were adding more to the group? This was unacceptable. There were times when I would plick up my child and an older school age child would be watching her. My daughter is the only child and I felt she needed to be around children as she was only home with adults but the habits, all bad, she picked up on while there took me about a month to break.
