This is the type of women's consignment shop that I favor.  It is small, but organized, and offers a wide selection of apparel; the exception would be shoes and small sizes of tops and sweaters (they do have them, however, the selection is rather limited.)  The people who work in the store stay out of a shopper's way,  but I don't see that as a negative.  I like to browse and move on as I please without intrusions.   I noticed a few complaints about the owner turning down prospective consigners' offerings.  If the owner or buyer declines someone's articles, she has, of course, that prerogative.  I have bought a few brand new pairs of jeans at the store.  On the other hand, I purchased a pair of dress pants there a few years ago that weren't up-to-the-minute contemporary, but they were classic in style, constructed well, and are still my favorite pair of "dressy" pants/pants I would wear to work. The point is, the owner evidently does accept some slightly dated items, but I'm fairly sure her decision to do so depends on what the items are, if there is a need for them, and if the shop has space, just to name a few. read more

I recently wanted to clear some closet space so I gathered clothing to donate. I was running errands and came across this establishment and thought it was a great idea since many of my items were nice designer items. I went inside to inquire about selling pieces. The store manager was EXTREMELY rude and pretentious. She told me that they typically do appts only but she would take a look however she'd have to put her customers first. I am not sure what about me was not a customer. I would have gladly shopped here and referred friends here in the future. I understood and offered to make an appt. The attendant, with attitude, informed me she couldn't do a Sat. appt until November. This worker was obviously miserable and I pity her. Now I highly would NOT recommend giving this place any business. Donate to Good Will or Salvation Army instead! I am sure they would appreciate it more :) read more

Run, do not walk away from this place. I took clothes in to consign, and found them to be extremely rude. Unless you have pieces that you bought and NEVER wore, don't bother. They carry a lot of Chico and Coldwater Creek, brands I like, but certainly don't qualify as "high end" clothing lines. There must be a certain personality type that goes into the clothes consignment business .... One that enjoys being aloof, condescending, and rude. Save yourself the aggravation. Life is too short to deal with those people. read more

Went here for the 1st time last week and will never go back. Just as most of the other reviewers stated, I experienced a very rude and condescending employee. She was "way to busy" to talk to me and would not be able " to fit me in " for several weeks. She did give me a list of all their requirements. I don't know how this store stays in business. The manager is very rude and pretentious. Hello, YOU WORK IN A CONSIGNMENT SHOP. She reviewed my spotless St John Caviar suits, Ellen Tracy suits, some expensive formal wear never worn. She rejected several suits and said they were "out of style". They were maybe 2 years old and classically styled. Not out of style at all. I decided that I could find a better use for my lovely clothing and donated them to Dress for Success. read more

Don't know what is wrong with the reviewer who gave this place a one star and a nasty review. I have been here numerous times and always found something lovely at reasonable prices. The merchandise is pristine and current, and perhaps you won't find a whole lot of Prada or Chanel, but this is certainly higher end goods. The sales staff is great and friendly. And no, they will not take crap like some other consignsment stores that are more like thrift stores. But everything here is in great condition and very reasonably priced. From the reviews I read online I expected more of a boutique. I was able to find a few pieces. However I was highly disappointed in the store and lack of customer service. The brands advertised on the website were not available. The accessories and handbags were especially disappointed. I gave them a try but will continue to shop at Lilac Consignment. read more

I wanted to like this establishment since there aren't many women's consignment places in the immediate vicinity, and I LOVE shopping consignment. Upon my visit in early fall, 2014 I observed a customer looking at a lipstick. She proceeded to touch it to her wrist and that's when the "uncomfortable" exchange took place between her and an owner. The owner told her she'd have to buy the lipstick since she ruined it. The customer asked why they couldn't just wipe it with alcohol and put it back. The uncomfortable exchange went on for about ten minutes until the customer finally agreed to buy it, along with two other items she had tried on. She told the owner she didn't appreciate her attitude and offered that she would never come back in the store. The owner stood her ground and told the customer what she did was wrong. Without taking sides here, I will just say this was an unfortunate and extremely uncomfortable exchange that made me want to run out of the store. The stock was pretty good but prices are on the high side. I haven't been back. Alas. read more

This is my first yelp review, I felt compelled to write this because this is a great store! It is like shopping in a boutique without boutique prices, Everything is in excellent condition, current and well organized. They do not accept junk. The staff is friendly and will even tell you the truth about how something looks on you when you try it on. I have been shopping here for a few years. I am glad they help their shopping customers rather than stop to service someone who just stops in to drop off their unwanted stuff for consignment without bothering to make an appointment. I am glad the owner told the customer to buy the lipstick after she used it rather than just wipe it off and try to sell it to some other customer. It shows she cares about cleanliness and her customers. They do carry high end designer items but they go quickly. I have shopped many consignments shops but this one is the best in this area! read more
