The Short Version: Ramen and Poke restaurant not far from…read morethe Ottawa airport. Good food, nice ambiance and excellent service. The Long Version: My mom and I had lunch here and we enjoyed it. My mom got the Kimono Ramen $22 and I got the Chicken Kaarage Poke Bowl $19. My bowl wasn't on the menu in the restaurant but I asked the server if it was available because I saw it on a menu online and she said that it was in fact available :) My mom's ramen came with pork belly, grilled chicken breast, wood ear mushrooms, bamboo, bean sprouts, a marinaded egg, and ramen noodles. She asked them to hold the sesame seeds so that I could have some. I had a taste of everything except for the pork belly (it was too fatty for me, lol, but my mom liked it), and I thought it was tasty. The ramen noodles were nice and chewy (she chose the thick noodles) and the broth was good. It wasn't too salty. I liked the lean grilled chicken breast as well. My poke bowl came with sushi rice, mixed greens, edamame, cucumbers, avocado, shredded carrots, and shredded surimi crab (they call this Kani salad, it's basically shredded imitation crab with maybe a bit of mayo). I got 5 pieces of chicken kaarage. They were crispy and nicely seasoned. I enjoyed them despite them being dark meat, lol. The vegetable ingredients were fresh. The sushi rice was a bit clumpy, but once I mixed all the ingredients together, it was fine. Service was wonderful. We were greeted right away and brought a carafe of water. Once we got our food the server noticed we were trying to share a bit of our meals with each other and she offered to bring us 2 small bowls. The bowls were incredibly helpful and made sharing much better and less messy, lol. I felt the food was about 4 stars but the thoughtful and attentive service bumps this place up an extra star in my books. Decor is pretty. Design is sleek and modern. The restaurant is in a plaza with several other restaurants and shops, including T&T Supermarket. Free parking available in the plaza parking lot. Review #80 (2026)

We got a nice seat in the corner pretty quickly and only had to wait a bit until the server came with the menus. The menu is fairly small and they do almost a "fushion" so they aren't really known for anything specific, like ramen or sushi so we opted to get one of each. Their waters come in these really cute round water cups with a lime. I ordered the sushi special ($18) and he ordered the spicy tonkatsu ramen ($12) with the unagi sashimi ($6-7). The sushi was made pretty quickly and I could see it sitting on the counter waiting for the ramen to be finished so they could come together. The ramen was a full bowl and it smelled pretty great. I had a little bit and it's got a spice kick that will linger and just goes through your mouth. However, most ramen places I go to give you both sides of the egg, this one only did one side. His unagi came as a sushi when we asked for sashimi so we had to ask them to take it back to get what we originally wanted. It took them about 15 minutes (which I thought was a long time) so we kind of had it for dessert. My sushi special (for lunch) was just salmon rolls with avacado on top, one of tuna, salmon, snapper and red tuna and a little bit of seaweed salad as well as a miso soup. It was a bit overpriced for what it was in my opinion. However, the sushi was good, rolled well, the rice and fish tasted fresh and melted in my mouth. Would have given the place 5/5 if I didn't feel like their food was a bit over priced and if the ramen was a bit better.

Also, not the cleanest place: I sat at the bar and there were some guy's business cards in front of me from who knows when. Water was tepid. Great to know for next time I'm in the area! As you walk down the stairs, you'll see it's renovated pretty nicely and not overly done. We grabbed a seat and were served with water pretty quickly. We had a look through the menu and they serve up more than just ramen. There's don, sukiyaki, code noodles as well as a bunch of sides. Since it was a pretty cold day, I knew I was going to settle on a ramen. I settled on the spicy tantan as I get that at many places. Service was good and the food came out pretty quickly. I started with the broth. It was alright. I got a second spoon with some chili oil and it that was OK too. I tried some of the ramen...it was OK. I don't know why but it reminded me of instant noodles so wasn't a huge fan of that especially at the price point. The egg was cooked well and the other toppings are decent as well. Portion size was standard but staff are super friendly and attentive. Even though the ramen I ordered was ok at best, it's nice to see more shops pop up around Ottawa. I'll definitely come back to try one of the dishes.

I tried the Spicy Tantan without the chili oil. Still got pretty strong kick. Noodles were good, ground pork was good (spicy), egg was fine, lettuce worked better than I expected, bamboo was good too - nice crunchy kick. Fungus was excellent. I wish there was a marinated ground pork that was not spicy. I could not tell if the broth was amazing as my lips were tingling already. Also tried the Hawanmushi - it takes 20-30minutes they said so glad we ordered early. Loved the egg custard but not a fan of the savory sauce. Loved the shrimp, crab, shitake toppings and wish there were more! Cool to try and I was okay with the price ($9) but as I didn't like the flavor combo - will not get again. Sadly they were out of deep fried brown sugar mochi. Dango was something I have always wanted to try - it tasted like bland mochi. I thought each color would taste different but they all pretty much taste the same. Texture is nice just like soft mochi. Loved the icing. Very reasonable price ($6). 2 skewers of 3 Dango each per order. Mint candies at the end are super delicious too!

Visuals on its own I would give this 10 out of 10. The seating arrangements are also very comfortable, not too loud/busy when I went which was during lunch time on a weekend. Comparing it to other ramens I've had in Ottawa, I have to admit it's nothing crazy. After eating it don't expect to be blown away because there are better ramen, but at the same time the flavours are still there so it's not bad! The reason I have to give my experience a 3/5 is not only because of the average tasting ramen, but the service was also lacking... don't get me wrong the staff are very friendly, but after placing our order, we nearly waited for 45 minutes-1 hour. I know it's partly our fault for not following up with the waiters sooner, but we're pretty understanding people and we don't like confrontation when it's not needed. But around that 45 minutes mark, I had to say something because your girl was STARVED. Stomach growling and everything. The staff finally checked for us and they said they've JUST placed the order in... however the waiter was super nice and when we went to pay at the end, he apologized and defaulted us to not provide any tips given the long wait- which was much appreciated.
