We had take out last night. Very good portion of the noodle and lovely soup based. Recommend people love ramen like us.

We had their ramen last night . Good portion of ramen and strong favor of soup. The cost is reasonable Recommend this place if you love ramen like us.

Decent place for ramen. I went on a Sunday evening and the place was pretty quiet. Maybe I'm biased from my experience of going to bigger ramen places, but this ramen was okay. It just felt like it was missing something that would satisfy my ramen craving. Is it better than what I could make at home? Yes. But is it a place I would specifically seek out for the ramen experience? No. All in all it has a cozy, family business type of vibe. There are two tables by the window that offer superb lighting.

Surprisingly delicious. Before I came here, I was skeptical. It's because they offer Pho (Vietnamese) and sushi and ramen (Japanese) at the same place. However my urge for ramen overtook any inhibition I had and I stepped into this place with a modern decor. The whole place has a new smell to it. I tried the spring rolls (I guess Chinese as well?) which were pretty good. The Spicy ramen knocked it out of the park. Delicious. The soft boiled egg was awesome as well. Pricing was pretty good, $12 for a big bowl of ramen. Beware. They aren't joking around with the spicy label.

Went here for the first time tonight. I've been looking for a good ramen place ever since moving back from Toronto. So when someone said to check out this place I had to do so immediately. My friend and I shared many different courses as neither of us can eat large portions and this worked out great because I found the food portions quite large actually. We ordered one miso ramen, spider roll, volcano roll, and spicy tuna roll. We barely finished. The preparation was beautiful. The food was really tasty. The sushi rolls had great flavor and the ingredients blended quite nicely. The rolls were also quite thick which I liked. The soya sauce was great and I am usually quite picky about the sauce because many places make it too salty. The ramen was delicious and just what I was looking for. I'm not sure it tops any Toronto ramen places but it is definitely better than all the other ramen places in Ottawa. It was fresh, well cooked, presentable, the noodles were soft, the broth was well balanced and tasted very well. Both my friend and I were surprised as well as delighted. We also got a bottle of warm saké that went down smoothly alongside the food. The service was great. The waitresses were very helpful and pleasant. The chef as well as the waitresses didn't hesitate to give recommendations. We went on a Friday evening around 9pm and the place was quite nice. It wasn't crowded but maybe because many places on Elgin on a Friday night are usually stocked with the usual weekend pub goers. This ramen sushi bar isn't to be confused with Guu in Toronto where it is loud and lively. It has a nice quiet ambiance to it. The candles were nice and it was great to carry on conversations - a nice contrast to the noise of Elgin Street at times!

After having some dental work done, I had a craving for Pho. I met up with the great, Andrea B, who was a little sicky poo, and ventured down the street to this little place after seeing great reviews on Yelp! I ordered the Chicken Pho, Small. It was the best Pho I've had! perfectly delicious. The staff were just as wonderful! providing recommendations on our sushi appetizer! I can't remember the name of the sushi we had, but I had not heard of this kind of roll before. Always up for something new, and with the thumbs up from our server, we enjoyed delicious sushi and pho with great company! The layout of this tiny restaurant is fantastic! Lots of red and white, with funky bar stools and comfy bench seats on one side of the tables. I will be back for more!

I feel like I should have tried the ramen, since that's what everyone on here is raving about. That being said, I was pretty sick with a chest cold when I came in here, and all I wanted was pho. It was a few steps from my sister's apartment, so we decided to check it out. The decor is cute - loads of red and white. Our server was a total sweetheart (I'm hoping it's not the one Paul mentions in his review...ick!), and was quick to get us lime water and recommend her favourites. We opted to share the kiss roll with spicy tuna, cucumber and crab stick wrapped in avocado. It was wonderful. I could have eaten more, but thankfully our pho arrived soon after. I went for the chicken and shrimp and loaded on the bean sprouts. The chicken was plentiful and delicious and while there wasn't a ton of shrimp, the pieces I had were plumb and fresh. the broth was a bit bland, and I'll likely add some hot sauce next time, or try another broth. That being said, it totally hit the spot and soothed my sore throat. Our service was lovely and it was a great spot to spend some time with my best friend. I'll be back for sure.

    Average ramen.

I've gone to both this location and the Somerset Street one; this one is more modern. The ramen itself is just so-so; the pork is deliciously tender and yummy, but the whole thing tasted pretty normal and not outstanding, unlike Toronto's ramen. Have not been back since as I prefer pho!

5 stars, simply because this is the ONLY place you can get real ramen in Ottawa, seriously, the ONLY place! I've tried them all. I won't compare this to those Toronto establishments, it's just not fair. I can certainly say in Ottawa, this is the best and the only place to go for real ramen.

    Spicy Tonkotsu ramen.

I've developed a bit of a ramen obsession over the past year or so, and love to drop into one of the great shops in Toronto when we visit. Unfortunately, I hadn't found 'the place' in Ottawa yet- but things have improved since we moved here, so I decided to give Ginza a try for lunch. Ginza uses tonkotsu, a rich, pork bone broth. It's the most authentic tonkotsu broth I've seen in Ottawa, and tasty, but it wasn't the punch in the face of rich flavour that I associate with the stock when it's done best. The pork belly fell similarly flat in flavour, and the garnishes didn't offer much of a range of textures. The spicy tonkotsu was not incredibly spicy, and I had a hard time getting our server's attention to ask for something to spice it up. (By the time she came by after delivering our food, we were done). The noodles were nice, though - springy ramen noodles and not plain wheat noodles that we often find when ramen is scarce. If I have a serious ramen craving this place will hit the spot, but if you're really die hard (for instance if you have a 20+ hour broth that you make in your kitchen so your whole house smells like pork for weeks... ahem) you may be disappointed. Ginza doesn't carry only ramen, but has a range of Asian fare - mostly Japanese (ramen and sushi) but also some Vietnamese (pho) and Chinese (wonton soup with BBQ pork). Lunch was a bit pricey for what we got, but that's not too surprising considering that they don't have serious ramen competition in the city and downtown lunch is typically on the pricier side. Still, you won't be hit with serious sticker shock as you can be at other places in the area, which is nice.

Decent Ramen and Pho, reasonably priced and friendly staff. The bathroom is a bit of a messy closet, but otherwise we were satisfied!

Then I wanted the Taco Shrimp salad but was told they didn't have any shrimp either. For real? So I ended up getting the Cobb salad, which was $10.50, and contained spring mix, grilled chicken, bacon bits, avocado, grape tomatoes, and chopped egg. It usually comes with your choice of blue cheese or ranch dressing, but to the dismay of Cobb Salad purists I opted for the balsamic vinaigrette instead. You can get a free little piece of bread with your salad. The ingredients were fresh. I felt that there wasn't very much chicken in it though. However there was a lot of egg. I think there must have been like 2 eggs in there. I really liked the balsamic dressing. It was tangy yet smooth. The spring mix was a true spring mix, not mostly romaine with some token leaves of other greens like some places. Overall the salad was good, but I felt it was overpriced, and it didn't have anything really special about it. However, it was one of the few healthy choices available in the food court.

We were happy that we did decide to give this place a try, as it was everything that we had expected, and more! When we walked-in, we were greeted by a young man, that asked if we wanted take-out or dine-in. We chose dine-in however, the restaurant was quite busy at the time so, we had to be seated at a table near the front entrance. Upon sitting, we noticed the iPad that was on the table for ordering. We were also given paper menus to look at, which was easier. Once we had placed our orders, we waited only about ten minutes for our salads to arrive, along with the hummus and pita bread. The salads were absolutely amazing; the bowls were filled to the brim with cucumbers, tomatoes, lettuce, olives, and feta cheese. All of the ingredients were fresh and tasty, and that dressing, WOW; it was delicious! It tied the salad in so well, it was the best salad we had ever tried at a Greek restaurant. The hummus was also delicious, with heated-up pita bread creating the finishing touches. This hummus was definitely homemade, and marvellous! We even asked for an additional pita, as the one we had wasn't enough for the four of us. This appetizer was definitely a great start! Once our main meals arrived, we were pleasantly surprised at how large the portions were. And the homemade sauce on top of the rice was wonderful; I don't know how they made the sauce, but it was perfect with the rice. The chicken was tender, with the tzatziki sauce not being needed often due to the tenderness. The potatoes were huge, and deliciously spiced. The meal was massive, and we couldn't finish it all; definitely worth what we had paid for! Throughout the entire meal, the server checked on us, bringing us water when we had asked, and making sure we were well taken care of. As we were leaving, the owner/chef asked where we were visiting from, and if we enjoyed the food. This place was hands-down the best Greek restaurant that we've ever been to; down to earth family-owned, amazing food, and great hospitality. Will definitely be back, and would recommend that you all try it as well; you won't be disappointed!

All the nearby spots are reserved for the apartment dwellers in the building. Ordered a Huevo Ranchero ($16) - which came with scrambled eggs two corn tortillas with salsa, cheese, sour cream and a side order of fries. The eggs could have used some seasoning even with salsa it needed something extra A Vegan Breakfast Bowl ($14) - a mixture of tofu, spinach, mushrooms and tomato chutney - which somehow tasted to all 4 of us like onion chutney. The vegetables done good, but tofu again had just no flavour. Tofu had a spice rub all over, but it tasted like plain tofu. The Bacun strips were rice paper rolls with some attempted flavours but none came through. And two Vegan Bennies ($16) - a super grainy slice of bread topped with the same tofu, green onions, Bacun and some red pepper strips (NOT Coulis as described in the menu). If some person was having a tofu dish for the first time I think they would describe tofu as no flavour at all. We vegans know that you can do amazing things with Tofu. The home fries in the above dishes was the best - now that we could give 5 out 5. All of us had to go and get Sriracha and Ketchup from the counter to rescue the dishes. Coffee was too weak as well. When you go in and order on the counter and you get food delivered to your table. Should the restaurant still offer to tip on the machine BEFORE even we were served? The order did take a long time, the table not clean when we sat, no condiments on the table and coffee refills slow. An extra star for giving tons of vegan options
