The restaurant is located in the central district near the commercial and cultural core of the city. It was busy with many diners opting dining in the huge outdoor patio shaded by huge umbrellas. We chose to dine indoors which was nice because of the openness of the patio and indoor dining. We were handed the lunch menu and were only available in German. I must say the prices even in Euro was, dare I say... pleasantly reasonable! We each ordered an Argentinisches Huftsteak (Google Translation: Argentinian hoof steak). My 200 grams (roughly 7.05-oz) steak was 16.90 € ($19.28). The experience was the best. I've never had to cook steak over a hot stone before. When the hot stone was getting cool before consuming all meat you can request for a replacement. Customer service was great especially when we were one of the few who chose to dine indoors. We weren't forgotten. The steak was served with House Fries and came with 3 dips: Barbecue, Meerrettich (Horseradish), and Chimichurri. No soda refills. I have hit many Paulaner restaurants in Germany over the years, but this is one on my favorite spots, nestled in a little square under the trees and surrounding a nice water fountain. I come here on every visit to Stuttgart. I have actually hit this spot twice in the past year. The last time was during the World Cup, when I managed to get a seat next to the fountain with a perfect view of the TV. On the most recent occasion, I sat on the other side of the fountain. This place is usually bustling, and it is difficult to grab a table outside, but the staff always seem to accommodate me. I always order a nice, fresh and cold Hefeweizen beer, and even though I peruse the menu, I get the same thing- Schweinshaxe, or Pork Knuckle, they do it like no one else- it's ALWAYS consistently good, juicy, crispy, perfect. The last time I came with friends, this time it was just me, and I struck up a conversation with a local, such an enjoyable time, and happy to see the locals frequent this place.
