That said, I had a small issue with them refusing to refund a defective piece of merchandise I was sold but ended up getting satisfaction from dealing with the general manager. The interaction was positive enough for them to retain my business. I've come back and upgraded my rating as a result. Beyond that, the store is pretty standard. I find the clerks to generally be pleasant to deal with, though. You can usually find cheaper gas in Clayton, but it's not a bad station if you're close by and need a fill-up.

I used my get upside app and it led me to this particular gas station. It said BP on my app, the building says Handee Hugo's. I pulled up, easy access from hwy 70. I got out and pumped gas. The place looks to be renovated as they now had tv advertising at the pump. The place is well lit and has plenty of parking. They also have a car wash next to the building. I try my best not to go into the gas station, so im always hoping that the receipt tape is in stock. Today was perfect as it was able to print my receipt! The last 2 gas stations I encountered were out of receipt tape, so I was over joyed that this one was maintained. Overall, cleaned, well maintained gas station.

Obviously this place is in the middle of nowhere and nothing is state of the art, but it's safe- at least during the day when I was there.
