3 1/2 weeks and still waiting for the glasses. They need to let patients know they do not make the glasses there. They saw I was covered for 600 dollars and I assure you that is what they charged. I called insurance and canceled it. Went over to Eye Mart got my glasses they were exact same thing and was 269.00 and got my glasses in 23 mins exact. If I had read the BAD REVIEWS from there I would have never stopped that day. Check the BBB and read the complaints on them. Thank God they did not charge my insurance already I may have never been able to give up trying to get them. Never will use them again. read more

I have been getting my son's eye glasses from the Veteran's Columbus location for 6 years. When I started going there, Rhonda was the first person who helped me. Lovely women, fantastic service. Then Bob, he was great too. Now when I go there, I don't really recognize anyone. One year, I ordered a pair of eye glasses and the wrong pair came in, but for some reason, I just accepted them without saying anything. Then when they broke, they said they could replace the 1 piece that broke. I said okay, so then when the replacement came in, it was the original right pair that came in. So, they had to redo it. I had one person tell me, I read through the notes, we have done enough for you. I'm thinking, um I have paid for what you have done. I always purchase the insurance and my son, who is 8 always uses the insurance. This last time, I went in November 2024 to use the insurance. They told me that the pair of glasses that I had for him has been discontinued. Michelle told me that she would call me the next day. I never heard, so I called. She said she would call me back. Never heard so I called back. She said she was having another person help her and they would call me back. Never heard, I left it this time. I am very busy, single mom, share a car with my older children and work. When I was getting ready to go in to talk to them again, January 7th, I received a text message, your glasses are available. It took me a while to go in, I received a phone call from Tracy and she said, if you do not come in to get them your glasses are going back. I told her, no I am going to be in on Thursday. I went in on Thursday. One gentleman went all over the store and came back talking on the phone with his manager. He said they sent them back. I told him why would they send them back, it is very hard for me to come in and I told them I would be in this week. He said he didn't know. I was a little upset and frustrated and I feel bad for not being more patient with him. Walking out, he said to me, don't worry you won't have to pay for them. I told him what do you mean, I already paid for them. He said the manager will order them in the morning. I have not even received a call from the manager saying she was sorry. One year also, I went to use my son's insurance and they told me it was already used. I told them I have not used it. So, they did end up ordering his replacement because someone marked something wrong. So, I am not sure where all this confusion is coming from. But it is really bad service. If they offer for insurance options, then they should expect with a young child, they will break them and they shouldn't get upset or feel that they have done too much for someone when they replace it. The interesting thing is that when I first started going there when Rhonda and Bob were there, I use to tell people what a great place it was. The only time I went somewhere else was when my son needed a pair of glasses within a few hours. My Eye Dr. has glasses that fit my son's face and I usually get 2 pairs. read more

Upon arriving at my mid day appointment, the front desk advised me the system was down and has been all morning. I needed to pay cash, let them photocopy my card, or reschedule. She had my file in her hand with my phone number printed in a block next to my name. I asked hey why didn't your office call to advise your system was down - I could have saved the time to not miss work. She tossed my file on the desk and said "We ain't doing all of that". I left but I definitely will not be back with this type of attitude and lack of consideration. I wish I could've given negative stars. read more

I have a very busy schedule. I used the website to schedule my appointment and that had me 2-3 weeks out for the appointment. I confirmed through their text of the appointment 2 times. The appointment was on a Wednesday 9/11 which I took off from work for to make sure I would not be late and had plenty of time to be there. On the 9/4/2024 I was sent a text to confirm. I did. That Sunday 9/8/2024 I was sent another one and a way to do the paperwork before I got there. When I confirmed I did not have my insurance card infront of me so I confirmed and skipped the pre paperwork section. I received a text thanking me and stating they will see my tomorrow at 11:40 that Tuesday 9/10/2024. When I get there I was told I did not confirm so it was cancelled. I showed the lady and she stated she wasn't going to argue with me. She said that they called and my voice mail was full so they cancelled it. I have a job. I cannot answer every time a random number calls my phone. My email was available to them as well as the texting that I approved. They are rude at the desk. I'm sure they are over booking and using the online as a way to excuse themselves from the responsibility of owning their mess up. A company has to pay for an online scheduling service. To say that you are not responsible for the automated confirmations is absolutely wrong. You are. It did not create and launch itself. I've read the reviews and see I'm not the only one this has happened to. The staff is either underpaid or paid too much to feel the entitlement to be so rude as if we the patients are the problem. Went in with wife to get her glasses, she got me to get an eye exam. I have had 20-10 vision my entire life and am in no way near-sighted or far-sighted. Got eye exam, suddenly supposedly have a "slight astigmatism". Recommended to get glasses to help with eye fatigue as I am going into Cyber Security, so blue light blocking glasses would be good to have. They would also make them prescription to help with the "astigmatism" I supposedly have, to help with eye strain from bright lights. Had to wait a year to get them because of Covid. Go back in, no new eye exam, just get glasses using one year old script. Get glasses two weeks later, bad script, get free re-exam. Script had supposedly changed in a year, so I figured, yeah that's why the glasses were not the right script in the first pair and made my eyes hurt to wear them. Everything through them looked pinched inward and warped like a funhouse mirror, and made my eyes strain REALLY badly to focus. Hurt quite a bit. Two more weeks and new glasses are ready. I get them... and they look the exact same but are less extreme. Don't hurt my eyes to look through them, but everything still looked pinched and wobbly slightly. "You have to give them at least 2 weeks for your eyes to get used to them." they lied. No, corrective eyewear should correct vision problems the moment you put them on... that's the entire point of them. Got them home, still eyes are not focusing well through them, and the muscles in my right eye starts feeling like the eyeball is twisting to compensate for head tilt. Yeah, eyeballs rotate slightly to compensate for when you tilt your head, this is medically proven and documented in slow-mo online. Then I look at my tablet. I see my tablet I am using that is on my counter and I realize it looks like a lopsided trapezoid. I pick it up and look at it through the glasses and to make it square shaped, I have to hold it at a weird oblique angle. Without these abominations on my face, it is perfectly square and clear. These glasses tint everything slightly orange or yellow, distort and pinch everything into a weird trapezoid shape, AMPLIFY bright glare instead of getting rid of it, and make my eyes strain MORE... everything I bought them for NOT to do, they do. I AM NOT NEAR-SIGHTED. DOCTOR GASSER IS A FRAUD. THIS BUSINESS IS A SCAM. I AM GOING IN AND GETTING MY MONEY BACK, AND THEN SUING THEM FOR MALPRACTICE!!! read more

I don't have an issue with the providers they are great; however, I'm a long time patient and never had an issue before; however, this is the second time I've confirmed my appt. via text to arrive and my appt was cancelled. This is an inconvenience for patients! Due to their appt confirmation system failure, I had to reschedule. Showed my text feed showing it was confirmed. The remark was, We tried to call you but your voicemail was full. Well if confirmation is required for the appt via text then send a cancellation text!! Fix the system. Tried to get some ray-ban sunglasses with insurance and the lab said they no longer send back the sunglass lenses. The tech who told the sales person this information refused to speak face to face, so I thanked them and left. Long story but, MyEyeDr lost our business of over 12 years! My youngest has been in glasses since he was five! They watched him grow up and he would have been a life long customer. BAD BUSINESS over ridiculous greed! It's disgusting, because my son has never gotten glasses from anywhere else but we both will now. I bought him a new pair of glasses in late 2020. Bought their "insurance" policy too. (Only good for 12 months) Went back in January to discover his prescription changed. He likes his current frames and they are just over a year old, so we were going to get new lenses. I even planned to pay for all the add ons that we just did a year ago, on the new lenses. UNTIL, they insisted that I had to sign a release of liability before they'd order the new lenses. Their release states that if I gave them his frames (that I already bought there) and THEY were to break his frames or the new lenses, I would have to buy new frames and/or lenses AGAIN!! They would be so gracious to offer a DISCOUNT on replacements. (Which they would take no loss on because of mark up.) Plus, they "can't guarantee the same frames would be available." If the same frames weren't available anymore, I'd HAVE to buy a completely new set of glasses! How convenient for them! Blows my mind. We left without what my son NEEDS because of the principal. I canceled my appointment for a few days later to get my own new complete set of glasses too! Since when did it change from "You break it, you buy it." to "We break it, YOU buy it, AGAIN!?" I even finally got to speak to the branch manager the following week and asked her if that was really their company's stance, which she confirmed is their "policy." She told me that most likely nothing would be broken in the process of first, removing his current lenses to trace the frame shape and then putting them back in. Then, when the new lenses did come in, they'd have to take the lenses out again and put in the new ones. So it "rarely" happens that their employees break frames or lenses in the process but IF it did happen, I'd have to pay for it. AGAIN. She then proceeded to tell me that IF something happened, she'd deal with it on a case by case basis but they would only offer me a discount to replace anything they might damage or break. She refused to even put that in writing for me. She stood by them refusing service unless I signed the release. When I pointed out the lack of integrity and accountability of this company's policies and my disappointment in having spent thousands with them over the years between me and my two sons, her attitude felt like "sorry, not sorry" and very dismissive. I guess customers are a dime a dozen to them. The star is for the long-time, attentive employees that MyEyeDr on Veteran's Pkwy in Columbus, GA, are fortunate enough to have. We'll be finding a new optometrist because I'd rather pay for me and my son to get brand new glasses with a company that won't make their customers pay for their mistakes. We'll find someone who respects and appreciates customer loyalty. MyEyeDr is NOT one of those companies. read more

I have been using this location every since MyEyeDr first opened in this location. I have never had a problem until purchasing my glasses last year. Up until last year all my glasses were perfect fit and strength. When I picked up my glasses things were out of focus and gave me headaches. Since I don't live in Columbus I came in a few weeks later. The person at the front desk didn't let me talk to anyone who measure position of the prescription but just said I would have to put them on first thing in the morning and give my eyes time to adjust to them. All my other glasses were correct from day one. I went back two more times and all they did was attempt to adjust the frames. On my last visit I was asked why I waited so long to come back in. I told her this was my third time coming back but was always stopped at the front desk. I was told immediately that they would not do anything at this point. Also, when I was given the eye exam for these glasses I stated that my last prescription was perfect strength and vision was perfect on my DOT eye exam. Dr. Gasser told me he was going to tweak it just a little. One year later I still haven't been able to wear them. I've been getting texts from MyEyeDr and Dr. Gasser about it's time for my annual exam. Even though I need glasses right now, there is no way I will go back there and purchase another pair since I wasn't able to wear the last ones. The only way I will even consider going back is if they contact me and at least attempt to make this right in some way. My wife left this establishment for the same reason. I don't like doing negative reviews, but they gave me no other choice. read more

I will never use this Eye Doctor again. I have been going to them for a year now I've been in contact since I was 20. I have done three contact reevaluation's because they cannot get my prescription correct so I just end up getting glasses out of frustration I wanted to try one more time to give me the opportunity to get the contacts right and they are wanting to charge me $125 after I've spent almost $1000 with them for two pair glasses and two full visits. I will be definitely using another Eye Doctor . I do not recommend this company at all they're not willing to work with you, even though they're optometrist is in capable of getting my contacts correct after three visits. All I asked for was a courtesy visit. I would pay for the contacts in cash, but they would not even offer me a courtesy visit to try to fix my vision with contacts. After spending so much money with them, they would not even giving me a courtesy of $125 contact fitting as they call it. I do not recommend this place at all. read more

I had an issue at another MyEyeDr location, and I came into the Columbus store and had an awesome experience. The manager, Alecia (sp?), was very helpful and patient. The rest of the staff was also friendly and focused on customer service. The staff are also very knowledgeable regarding what vision insurance covers for both glasses and contacts. read more
