Dr. Li is awesome! Never had a problem with him but some of the staff were horrible. Don't even want to look at you and seem very judgy when I asked if they do price match. Also, they DON'T PRICE MATCH as they said! IT'S A LIE! So CHECK your receipt before you leave! She told me that it would be 64.85$ per 90 contacts to match Costco per request but she DID NOT check you out with that price! It was 78$ which was their usually discount. It might not seem a lot but if you multiple that times 8, it's almost 100$. And if you have 2 ppl that's 200$ I could've save. Better to buy it at COSTCO next time. This is the most unprofessional locations ever. I was scheduled for an appointment at 9am. Arrived on time was told to sit and wait because the receptionist wasn't available. When she does arrive to check me in she tells me the appointment has been canceled. She claims to have called an older number . My questioning is why not send an email everything was scheduled online. This was a waste of my time and laziness on their part pS I'm black so of course that plays a part in the service I receive or lack there of. very disappointed with this Germantown, MD; Century Blvd. today. The woman assisting with the frames choice was clearly irritable after having to switch from the progressive screen to singular frames. She went as far to say, "I wI'll have to get the Dr. to authorize switching to the single lense screen because it's not uploaded. WHAT??!!(she took a deep breath and shrugged her soldiers in frustration after every question asked). I was one of two other folks in at that hour so there was no reason to rush my decision and get pissed as I choose a less expensive option(althou my coverage is excellent-Fedgovt). I almost felt as thou her demeanor was due to my being a minority. Much attitude when I requested an explanation to the differences in pricing..I angered, paid the co-pay and requested a copy of my exam to go elsewhere. I am an African American female and when I walked in the store, a woman of Hispanic decent looked at me like I had 3 heads or no business bring there. So a few weeks ago I scheduled an appointment online. I received a phone called yesterday as a courtesy to remind me that I had an appointment tonight. I was also told that my insurance wasn't accepted so i should cancel my appointment. I should have, this was my first warning sign. I was fine with paying out of pocket for an exam so I asked that i could keep the appointment. Arrived 10 minutes early as a courtesy of new patient paperwork needs to be filled out, etc. Was not greeted, but as other patients/customers walked in, they were immediately greeted. After 10 minutes of standing and waiting at the check in desk I was asked if I needed help with something.........."yes, I have an appointment", I said. Overall my experience with myeyedr, is that when they were Doctors on Sight they were much better. I took a star because frankly, they were better then than now. Overall the team is nice, there is a lot of confusion (for me) as to which location I am going to. I've managed to arrive at the one location twice (they have two in town). The store is clean. The prices are ok. The team in the store is nice. Selection is ok. Overall it is just not that great a place. An oh boy don't ever give them your email address. I get two to four emails a week reminding me I need to get a checkup, new glasses or whatever else is going on. Meh. Too much advertising for my taste. My last beef with them was over contacts ordered. we were told that we would get a rebate. Except that we had to jump through hoops to get the rebate and in the end the store gave us the wrong paperwork, so our rebate was rejected. read more

I was scheduled for an appointment today only to arrive and be told it was scheduled for the following day. They called the day before to confirm and I had a confirmation text message showing I had the correct date, but was asked if I wanted to reschedule for later that day. Ok fine, I come in at the later time, granted I was 12 mins late, to be told the doctor had to leave and they have a 10 min grace period. Why schedule me that late if the doctor had to leave, then I called the center to see what the grace period was for being late and was told 15 mins. First and last visit!!!!! read more

We purchased a pair of glasses for my son as well as a warranty to protect the glasses. Needless to say, he broke his glasses and I called to replace them. The replacement order was placed, which took a couple weeks to come in. When we went to pick up the replacement, we were told we needed to turn in the old glasses. However, because we were not informed of that previously, we had thrown the glasses away. Now we are being told that we are going to be charged 50% the cost of the retail pair because lost glasses are not covered by the warranty. However, no one could tell me what the retail cost was and that I would need to speak with the manager. However, the manager is "on PTO" and I would need to wait a week until the manager returned. When I inquired about someone else being able to make a decision, I was told that was not possible. So I could either wait a week to be told what 50% of the retail cost was or return the glasses. This type of poor customer service is unacceptable. Who goes on vacation and does not leave someone in charge who is empowered to make decisions for the customers? Needless to say, they've lost a customer over this. read more

One of my sons had a good experience there, so when my other son (his twin brother) started complaining of headaches and eye strain, I made another appointment for him. I booked online, and the booking system kept changing his name to that of his brother. When we got to the appointment, I was told that he was too young to be seen (5 years old) even though his twin brother was seen there just a couple of months ago. Then I was told that the system double booked him, so he could come back in a few hours (but only "might" be seen because of his age). I have been coming to this location ever since I got glasses back in 2010. Every time I've come, I have never been acknowledged as I've come in nor am I able to let them know I have arrived since the people behind the counter are either dealing with other things or socializing. But when someone is on the phone there is usually a second person who doesn't greet either. I've stood at the counter multiple times waiting for people to be done giggling. Waiting times are pretty annoying and there's a "waiting room" of one chair. Or waiting in chairs used for fitting glasses. I feel like the time with the doctor is of quality but it feels so impersonal which one would want when trusting someone with their health. Once done with that I feel like majority of the time spent here is people trying to sell you excessive items. It took me a while to write this review but I've officially had enough. While waiting for my brother's appointment. Couple other stories but this is long enough. All in all it's basically a glasses/contacts shop with a doctor in the back. Got a bad prescription here. I've worn glasses for over 10 years and have had exams at least every other year. The exam here was the quickest exam I ever got and thought the doctor here was just more efficient. Turns out the prescription was VERY bad. Went elsewhere, different Rx and glasses is just fine. They really shouldn't overbook and not take their time giving an exam. People's eyes are very important and shouldn't be messed with just to make a quick buck. Not only that, glasses are expensive, and eyeglass shops do not refund when they make the glasses to spec but the problem is with the prescription. So I'm also out over $200. read more

I visited this location after a bit of a hassle with my insurance and another MyEyeDr location. Everyone was very friendly and welcoming! My appointment for contacts with Dr. Li was both prompt and thorough, and I was done in about 15-20 minutes. I feel like I got a prescription very fitting for my eyes. I am disappointed & now regret having gone there. Something was clearly wrong with the new Rx they gave me so I took the glasses back & told them: stuff looks slanted/warped so I can't drive, walk or work in them, I get nauseous after a while, and my vision is now worse. The lady who helped me didn't have the best customer service - she was a bit dismissive, condescending, and not at all apologetic or empathetic. She was helpful in that she readjusted the frame so it fit me better, which helped a little. Other than that her focus was on telling me that there was nothing wrong and I just needed to get used to them, and that they used a transition brand that no one else sells (who cares!). I've worn glasses all my life & this experience with new glasses was definitely a first - I usually get new ones and am instantly happy that I can see better. I asked about the strength of my original script and told her that I wanted to order a pair in that strength online so that I can walk around safely. She refused to give it to me but said she could give me my new script so only, "especially if you aren't buying from us". I also asked for my pupillary distance (something you need for online orders & that they measure during exams) & she refused to give it to me as I'd be "using it to not buy from us". She then encouraged me to buy a non progressive pair from them for walking. :-| I also asked if my vision for distance had actually changed and she wouldn't tell me; she also was in consistent in letting me know if I had progressive lenses or not (something the physician told me I wasn't ready for during the exam) - she initially said they were & when I said the optometrist said he wasn't going to prescribe those she said they weren't and we're just "a bump for reading at the bottom". :-| She also told me I just needed to take a couple of days for my eyes to adjust and get used to them. :-| -- I've had them for a week. They did not bother to recheck my eyes, confirm the script with the Dr, or recheck the lenses for its actual strength. So, I used my insurance allocation for the next 2 years & paid a $200 copay for a pair of glasses that I can't use, and for a service that won't give me full details from my visit to remedy the error that exists with my glasses because I won't be buying glasses to correct their error from them. I now have to use my old glasses or pay out of pocket for a new optometrist to re-examine my eyes, buy new glasses out of pocket, and get the information I paid for at My Eye Dr that My Eye Dr won't give me. After reading half the reviews that said they have had their glasses LOST, I decided to take a chance. Bad idea, while I was sitting waiting for my eye exam I began talking to a lady who was telling me she had her glasses lost and how she came there because they hadn't even called her to tell her, her glasses were lost. This review is about me and my experience however, it went exactly the same as what I just described. My frames were "LOST", no one called to call me....I went in bc I hadn't heard from them and was told they weren't back from their factory in North Carolina. Now the ironic thing about that was that I was told that the lens were being sent from NC and I was originally given the choice to keep my frames with me or they would keep them and pop the lens in the frames when they came in. SMH, Needless to say, I allowed them to keep the frames and was told the frames weren't returned from their factory in NC.......Puzzling, huh? Ask me what I THINK....cute frames are being stolen. Mr. Stanley Mariona, the General Manager tried to make it better. He went to the original vendor where I brought my frames and ordered me a new pair and he refunded me $50. I appreciate what he did, but I can not deal with a business where frames come up missing regularly. It's crazy how this seems to happen so frequently as if it's a part of business. Initially Mr. Mariona told me to pick out a new pair of frames in store which didn't work for me because the frames they had weren't trendy enough for me. I went into this store to get my glasses straightened and the GM told me no problem they could help me. They told since I did not buy this pair here they couldn't guarantee anything and they were not liable - I said I understood but please do what you can without breaking them as I had to wear them work. 2 mins later the GM told me his 'experts' had broken my glasses. I felt well treated by the optometrist when I went for my appointment. She was professional and I have no complaints about the care I received from her. I would give her four stars. But my interactions with everyone else seemed to be, in a word, "upsell". I have excellent insurance that covers vision related expenses. Yet it seemed like things were constantly proposed that weren't covered or cost more than what my generous insurance benefits covered. It was proposed that I have a retina scan that would be an extra $20, not covered by insurance. What were the reasons for this test? If a medical test or procedure is proposed, I expect to be told why it is being recommended, not just "it's not covered by your insurance." I hadn't even been examined by the doctor and nothing had been diagnosed at that point. Why are the non-licensed office staff proposing medical tests to patients? After having my eyes examined by the optometrist and appropriate recommendations made, I was taken out to the optician section. Wait, where are the eyeglass prescriptions that I came for? I got the feeling that they didn't want me to know that I could get my prescription from them to take to any optician and that wasn't required to purchase glasses from them. Even with my generous vision insurance which covered 100% of most charges, I was given the "upsell" for a pair of glasses that would have cost me almost A THOUSAND DOLLARS (!!) and my out of pocket expenses would have been over $200! I have been buying my glasses online for years (no insurance coverage) and have always come away with good quality glasses that cost me under $100 for high-index progressive lenses in a metal frame. I was astonished that even with my insurance that would cover 100% of most charges, it was proposed that I purchase the more expensive frames and the lenses with all the add-ons not covered by insurance. I had asked for my written prescriptions but these were given to me only after I sat through the sales pitch for expensive glasses. read more

I had an appointment yesterday, July 17. I was very hesitant and nearly cancelled my appointment because I am high risk, as I have a lung condition. I was also hesitant because at the moment I risk passing out and I typically need another person with me, but because of the precautions that need to be taken, I was only able to go to my appointment alone. However I 100% get and respect that new rule. As soon as I got to my appointment I was greeted with tons of precautions including,keeping their doors locked, giving me a new mask, giving me easy access to hand sanitizer, etc. I let them know of my condition at the front desk and the lady Stephanie, was very accommodating and let me know that they will do whatever they can to help. After having my eye exam and then being helped by the extremely helpful Yesenia, I felt 100% safe inside this location. They are taking every step and precaution they can to keep the public safe while still offering eye appointments. I will be sure to let my friends who are scared to go out, that this location is safe and they won't have anything to worry about during their appointment. I got an email that my "order is up" last September 4. I was very excited and looking forward to it done. I went the following day, just to find out that it was a mistake. This is such a waste of time! I took off early hoping that they can resolve the problem. They lady just told me that it was not yet ready and it was a mistake and I have to wait for another week or so to have my lenses changed. They offered to changed the lenses with an ordinary lenses which will be hard for my vision to adjust. This is very frustrating! read more

I had an appointment yesterday that went really well. I initially had to call them to let them know that I might be late because of a family emergency. I did assure them that I was on my way. The young lady was very polite and told me that I had a 10 minute grace period. Fortunately, I arrived on time. Due to COVID, was asked to wait inside the door. Someone came over and took my temperature. From there, I went directly into the pre-exams followed by my seeing the doctor. It had been 2 years since my last visit. I was asked if I was wearing contacts. My reply was "No." I explained that I lost one of the lenses from glasses and when I called in December to see about getting a replacement, I was told it couldn't be replaced because the prescription had expired. Thus, my reason for this appointment. The eye exam went very well. The time spent with the doctor was thorough and it wasn't time consuming. I spent the remainder of my time with Arefin, a young man who was very good and knowledgeable in his work. I told him what I was looking for in new frames. He listened and brought me several types of frames. Arefin was helpful in helping me narrow it down to the pair that he thought would best suit me. Once the measurements were taken and he figured out the final cost for the glasses, I was very happy! He used information from previous purchases to come up with the ideal glasses and still saved me a LOT of money. I was very grateful for his assistance. I've been coming to the Germantown location for years and today I had an appointment withDr. Pam Bae Li (who has never seen me). The service here is always subpar but I go anyway. So, I got to the store 5 minutes late. Please note: there was a terrible rain storm that I had to drive through to get to the location. Anyway, I cheerfully walked in the store and had a awfully rude exchange with the woman at the front counter. She asked could she help me and I said I had an appointment and she asked my name and then said well we tried to call you!! She was extremely cold and off putting. I told her I'm only 5 mins late and I did not receive any calls. She said we tried to reach you and it went to your voicemail and then you walked in the door!! The doctor is not going to see you you need to reschedule. Then she goes in the back and comes out and said yeah you need to reschedule (never no eye contact, very nasty and with very poor customer service). So I explained I was only 5 mins late and just drove thru a terrible storm. She then proceeds with are you going to reschedule or not. I politely walked out!!! I will take my money elsewhere. MyEye Dr is no longer a place I will go for my contacts or eyewear, nor will my family. This experience left me in bad spirits. Its never what your say but how you say it. Dr Lee has a serious lack in interpersonal skills, extremely bad Demeanor when Inquiring about extra fees for contact fittings as well as glasses. When I inquired about the fees that we might have to pay for his attitude change drop the papers down at the desk walk me to the front and turned around and left. It is my conclusion that he has a serious lack of consideration for veterans of the armed services. After reading some of the reviews I wish I would've cancelled this appointment earlier prior to even dealing with him.
