I stopped by during my lunch break just to check out the frames they had. I've found it very difficult to find frames that I really like and fit my face. This specific LensCrafters had quite a few options. Pretty much all designer frames. Versace, Prada, Tiffany's, Coach, Michael Kors, etc. Obviously the frames are a little more pricy but it is nice you have a lot of options. The store was busy so I wasn't immediately assisted which was fine because I was just truly window shopping. After a few minutes, I was stopped by an employee named Angelo who was REALLY friendly. I even told him I was on lunch break and I didn't have much time but he was understanding. He explained to me that the doctors work separately from the store so if I wanted pricing for the exams I would have to speak with the doctor. That's a little inconvenient but something I can live with. Although I didn't find the EXACT frames I was looking for, I may end up coming back for an exam. read more

I did lots of research and my conclusion was you either get low prices or good service. I even used check book magazine for reviews. There wasn't one place that had both. Well I was wrong. I ended up at LensCrafters because the smaller shops lacked a big selection sunglasses. Angelo was super helpful. I ended up with a pair of Oakly's (yes they are not the cheapest) and I couldn't be happier. Dr. Espejo was also great. My sunglases came in and they are razor sharp and the digital progressive lens are perfect for driving. I now wear these all the time in the day. Very happy and I will definitely return. read more

Dr. Espejo is a Optometrist Boss! I decided to get the eyes checked out & called to make an appointment. To my surprise I was informed that I could do a walk in or same day appointment...hence 45 minutes later I arrived. From the UPS man that held the door open for me with a quick salutation to every staff member that was on the floor, everyone greeted me & was very pleasant. Sylvia was the Patient Check In Coordinator, who assisted me over the phone with the pre-insurance tidbits & provided me with the minimal paperwork to fill out. She also provided information & fees associated with additional proactive testing & I appreciate the upfront oppose to the back end of that. Paperwork submission was a brief process & I was ready to go for the pre-exam testing...you know the darn "puff in the eyes" test. That has always been an agitational experience for me LOL...yet she did in a nanosecond & I was placed in the exam room. This team must work on optical synchronization, as soon as I sat down, Dr. Espejo came in. What, no hour wait to see the Doc?! What a very cool & laid back Physician. He came in, introduced himself, welcomed me to his office & asked how I was doing. Shucks I forgot I was in for a medical exam. The exam was thorough & expedient with Doctor E answering my questions & breaking down some other information for me. He did so with such a nice demeanor. I was very impressed that he was direct & educating at the same time. Good exam, with needing only reading glasses. I already picked out my Michael Kors specs...of course wouldn't wear anything else :-) His selection of designer frames is very extensive & the prices are fantastic! I really feed off of great customer service & to be in a medical practice with other patients & still be taken care of without skipping beat, always renders a great review. This location is GORGEOUS!! They have a wonderful selection. I needed a pair of Progressives, and the gentleman in the front want so helpful. He used their cool monitors to help me find alternative color selections for the frames. Getting measurements and ordering the glasses were a breeze. Robert helped me with the order. He had me laughing the whole time - he's a gem. I was told 2 weeks for glasses delivery (which is standard for my unique prescriptions or lenses) but ny glasses came a week early! At pickup, Angelo kindly explained how progressives work and was very patient and knowledgeable. I'll definitely come back to only this location. Everyone was so warm, welcoming and friendly. I wanted to love this place but after not being able to figure out my prescription three times I'm over it. The only reason why I'm willing to give them one star is because of the customer service I got in the front of the building the sales associate was very nice and professional helping me pick out my glasses but that was the best part. And to top it off the doctor said my eye was rejecting the upgraded prescription because of my stigmatism... I am aware I have astigmatism but I come here so that I can see. read more

Not going to lie, I was hesitant to go to an eye doctor in a big, chain Eyewear retailer, but am I glad I did. It took Dr. Louis A. Espejo approximately 15 mins to get as close to a perfect contact lens prescriotion I've had in at least 5 years. My especially pronounced astigmatism, unique to each eye, has made it impossible to find a prescription good enough so that I don't have to squint at least a little whenever I wore contacts (glasses are fine since the lenses stays put). At one point I was so frustrated, I went back to the same doctor to adjust in order to get a clearer fit. Not so with Dr. Espejo. Apparently they have a Hogwarts school of optics somewhere, because I can finally, truly see again. Thanks Doc! Definitely don't want to leave out the amazingly patient, and tasteful, Lens Crafter associate who spent 3+ hours (!!!) helping me sift and choose through nearly all frames in stock. Oh, and did I mention Angelo has impeccable taste?? All-in-all, I super appreciate that Angelo made finding the right frames a fun and dynamic, rather than stressful, experience; and I'm pretty sure his input and guidance led to much more ascetically pleasing choices :). read more

What a shady place when it comes to business practices. The employees acknowledge it but are indifferent. The special coating fail in just a few months and the place won't replace or refund. "You have to buy new lenses"...so there is a waste of money on lenses $200+ If you want to change out the prescription after an exam...surprise!!!! You can't put new lenses in the frames you purchase just two years ago. Even though the lenses are still being marketed from Ray Ban and Armani. They have a whole list of excuses e.g. no longer have lenses template, something wrong with frame... Funny thing I sent the frames to an online firm they put in new lenses with better features (e.g. transition lenses) at half the price. Plus I didn't have to spend $400+ on new frames. My frames were fine and templates were available. I received them in a week. Don't be sucked by the glitzy store front. They are subsidizing it by ripping us off. Oh by the way I contacted corporate as well...never hear back. read more

I recently moved to Rockville from Arlington, Virginia. I previously went to the Lenscrafters at Pentagon City, and they were exceptional. They were not inexpensive, but the service was top notch. I went to this particular Lenscrafters two days ago and was the only customer in the store at that time. The store is small and has a limited selection of glasses. I was concerned with the optician's skill level and his inability to respond to simple questions, like how much are the lenses, what are my options for type of lens, UV protection, etc. These questions came directly from my optometrist. I submitted an online complaint and the website said they would respond within 1 business day. I followed up with a phone call to the parent company earlier to day to report my issue and to let them know I received no response. I got pushback there as well. Still waiting. Lenscrafters' other stores are usually very good. This store seems to be an outlier. UPDATE AS OF May 28th: Lenscrafters failed to respond or acknowledge my online complaint submitted nine days ago. read more

After voicing my complaints, Dr. Espejo was very quick in rectifying the situation and refunding me for the extra services I was charged. He gave me a call to apologize as well as sent me a follow up email. I do appreciate his immediate attention. I believe my experience might have been an exception, a bad combination of the busy office and my new insurance plan that resulted in some miscommunications. I would recommend new patients to clarify what is covered under their insurance plan prior to receiving services to avoid any surprise costs. If you live nearby, I would also call ahead to check the wait time/number of patients for the eye exam. Just for reference, the retina exam is $39, doesn't involve pupil dilation, and you even get a digital image to take home. read more

Told my lens would take a week, but the CVS I've used before took overnight. On 7th day I called to see if they were ready but no one would answer the phone (I called three times). I realize going to LensCrafters can be a frustrating experience- especially on a rainy weekend day. Luckily, my experience was the exact opposite. There was a wait, but it went quickly- about 10 minutes. There seemed to be some confusion about the sign-in process (some signed in, some stood around and then yelled that they got there first) but everyone was very nice about it and tried to be accommodating. All I needed was an adjustment on my glasses. The gentleman who assisted me was very friendly and pleasant. He took the time to get the right fit and then I was on my way. They have a AAA discount if you are a member! The optometrist, Dr. Louis A Espejo, is awesome. He was very informative, friendly, and really explained everything. I paid the extra $39 for the retina eye photo and it was worth it to me. He was able to give a thorough explanation of my eye health. His office operates out of LensCrafters and I had to order contacts through his office. For glasses, that's when LensCrafters come in. His office and LensCrafters work in partnership with each other. They have a great selection of frames and I was able to receive my glasses within a day or two. Their prices are expensive, but they usually have some deal going on and I used my AAA discount. The only thing I didn't like is that they tried to up sell you on everything. Their insurance plan went from $34.99 per glasses and then after I declined, I was told it was $9.99 because I went to Dr. Louis Espejo. When I picked up my glasses, they asked if I wanted a cleaning kit, when I declined, they offered me 20% off. I highly recommend Dr. Espejo. As for where you want to get your prescription filled for glasses, LensCrafters is convenient being right there. read more

The worst experience I have ever had. I bought highend glasses and in less than 4 months the coating is Peeling off the lens. They will not help in anyway they are scammers. In stead they want to charge me 500.00 for new lenses . I will never ever purchase another product from their company. Instead I will go back to My eye Dr where I have purchased over 5 pair glasses and never had a problem with my lenses. I really just wanted different frames. I learned my lesson the hard way. This is by far the best Lenscrafters I have ever patronized. My salesman was Pedro, and the optical tech and doctor are top drawer. The eye exam is only $70 w/out insurance, and it's well worth it to have service from this doctor. Again, the optical tech is someone I've been following for 15 years since he was at the White Flint location. He is the best in the business. My salesman Pedro was very nice and we had a good time carrying on with some wanton banter. What brought me to Lenscrafters? Well, frankly it was a couple of screw-ups at Visionworks further south on Rockville Pike. I thought I read the reviews on that particular Visionworks location before going there but obviously not. I'll add to the list of folks disappointed with the "doctor" there. There is an obvious language barrier. This was my first trip to this chain, having only been to Voorthuis and Lenscrafters, the latter for the past 15 years. I've ordered 2-3 pairs of computer glasses from Lenscrafters in the past and they've all had a focal length from about 18" to about 6 ft. Enter Visionworks, and my computer glasses came back with a narrow focal length at 12". Anything closer or farther was a blur. Even their web site says the expected focal length is 20-26 inches. I talked to the "doctor" and she said that I told her to make them that way. Wow! She also got my script wrong, but it was close enough and I'd had enough so I kept my distance glasses and readers, which is really what she scripted for me even though she denies it. I basically made the best of the situation without having to be involved with them any more. I only went there because of my current and crappy insurance plan. I went down to Lenscrafters and ordered a pair of computer glasses. I am using them now and they are even better than the ones they cut last time. I can not only make out items from 12" to 20" where my 40" 4K computer screen is located, but also out to about 8 ft where my 55" 1080P Samsung sits. This is from the Lenscrafters on Rockville Pike, north of Congressional Plaza. The doctor here gave me a corrected script and explained how the scripts interplay with the focal length, and I left there a very happy camper. Also, there is an awesome guy in the back who grinds their lenses so if you are going to go to Lenscrafters, PLEASE use this one. The doctor and technician are top notch, as was my sales guy Pedro. The best service I ever had! My son's glasses got broken by missing screw to hold lens and frame. Called as soon as they opened to see if they could help, and the lady on the phone told me to come to the store to show the glasses to determine. We went to the store immediately and the manager fixed the frame, calibrated, adjusted and cleaned with no charge! I never had such a nice service before. Not because it was free, but the professionalism of her work was outstanding. Wanted to pay but she just said " have a nice day". Would definitely go back to give a business next time. read more

This is a big chain with expensive glasses because they have designer names. The quality is not one iota better than the popular line that's now very trendy whose name I shall not mention where you get frames lenses anti reflective glasses for $95. I own 5 pair so I would know. However, my new insurance sent me to LensCrafters. Owned Luxottica, the huge conglomerate that owns all designer eyewear and makes frames for $2 and turns around and sells them for $400. There's a whole article on it and 20/20 did a special on them a few years back. Long story short. I had good service at this location. The employees just are there because they need a job. It's not their fault the conglomerate is there to rip off and over charge for the most part the service was very good. Only the store still is really bad. Not sure what it is but they have a ton of air freshener to try and mask whatever foul odor is there. 3 stars for the 2 employees who treated me well!. read more

I love this place. I've been going to this eyeglasses store for I think 3 years now! Their staff is absolutely lovely and the eye doctor they have on staff is very kind and honest! Everyone there seems to genuinely care about all of their customers and they really do a great job of helping out! Making everything quick and easy. Not to mention their warranty program on glasses/frames where if u break your glasses or (I think lost glasses are also covered) it's only $25 to get a brand new pair! And you can use it as many times as you need a year. But I actually don't recall the cost of the warranty initially but if you're interested in an amazing eyeglasses store that cares, I would definitely recommend them. read more

Today my wife and I visited the Lens Crafters on Rockville Pike. The visit started off rocky when the Dr said they didn't take our insurance. The insurance issue was quickly resolved and we proceeded with our eye exams. The Dr was very professional and apologize for the miscommunication and was very thorough with our exams. Afterwards we went to choose our frames, Kara and Kristina were a big help and very pleasant to work with. We will certainly be visiting this location again! read more
