Last night, the right lens of my glasses popped out (luckily, I was getting ready for bed). So, while doing laundry, I had planned on going to the place I went to 2 months ago. But, unfortunately, they're closed on Mondays. :-( So, a quick visit to Yelp, and this office turned up. Upon walking in, most of their frames, are located on the right half of the office. And, the information desk, and customer waiting area, with a couple of small displays, are to the left. There were 3 people ahead of me. But, they were filling out Patient Information Sheets for eye exams. I walked up to the desk, and the girl came out. I told her what I needed, and gave her my glasses. A few minutes later, she came out, and returned them to me. While service was prompt, attitude and courtesy were issues. There was no, Welcome to... Nor, upon leaving, Have a good day. And, that was after I wished her both Happy Holidays, or Merry Christmas. Whichever one she preferred (did get a chuckle from her). Nice to know that there are a couple of eye-glasses places in Mville. And, these guys would be a good backup. read more

I recently saw Dr. Ferrell for an eye exam. I was charged $205 for this routine exam, which my vision insurance covered (or so I am told) except for a $10 co-pay, plus $44 for retinal photos (required for all patients at this facility), which cost me $39 out of pocket. So far so good, I guess. However, I was ADDITIONALLY charged $130.50 for a contact exam, which my insurance did not pay. This strikes me as bizarre because I was asked right away to take my contacts out, i.e. there was no exam to see how the contacts fit or no special "contacts" part of the exam such as my former optometrist used to do. But writing a prescription for contacts apparently costs $130.50 that the insurance does not cover. What's even more strange is that when I called my vision insurance to inquire, they had no record of the office having submitted a bill. (Yes, I called in twice and spoke to two different representatives.) Could it be that the $179.50 that I had to pay out of pocket was the actual cost of the exam, without them submitting anything to the insurance? Needless to say, all of this seems perplexing and quite unorthodox to me. I do not plan to return to this office. read more

I had an appointment with Dr. Ronald Ferrell today scheduled for 3:40pm. I was called back to the room the lady asked me to wash my hands since I had contacts I went to the restroom and returned. She closed the door and asked me to cover my left eye with my left hand and read line #8. I told her my vision was blurry due to me being highly allergic to pollen. She said read the next line above it. I said it's not the point of being able to read my VISION is blurry right now. She kept insisting that I try to read the lines. I told her you aren't understanding. I then told her the entire board was blurry and at the moment I had just come in from being out in the pollen. She still insisted that I read. I shut my mouth and took a deep breath because she wasn't understanding what I was conveying. I tried to explain one last time that my eye was itchy and my vision was blurry from the pollen. She said this is not a test just read. By this time she said do you need to take a break. I didn't need a break she really began to take things out of proportion. I got up and walked out the room because she just wasn't listening to what I was saying as a patient. I went to the desk and asked could I see the Dr. I have been coming to Dr Ferrell for over 25-30 years. The receptionist says he is in with another patient I said that I would wait. So this lady comes out and says no you cannot see the Dr. in order to see the Dr. you have to come through me first. I stated that I had tried several times to explain what I was experiencing and she didn't get it. At this point I wanted to see the Dr. The lady began to get loud and I told her that I was done discussing this with her I said I am not talking to you I am talking to the receptionist. She continued to talk to me and in a loud tone. I once again told the receptionist that I had been coming there since I was a child and I wanted to talk to him. The lady then stated I don't care how long you been coming here you still have to come through me. The receptionist asked me if I wanted to reschedule. I told her no I want to talk to the Dr and make a complaint. The lady became louder and kept being confrontational with me. She said I have never had a complaint look at my track record. I really had nothing else to say to her I just wanted to talk to the Dr. there was another staff a tall bushy haired African American woman and was literally holding this young lady back from walking up on me. I was shocked because it appreared as if the woman wasn't holding her back she was going to charge me and attack. She then stated you are supposed to be a man arguing with a woman. I told her this has nothing to do with gender. She also stated :you got me fucked up" in front of staff and customers were present. I told the staff you just going to let her curse at me. She keeps going back and forth with me I'm not yelling at her or anything I just want to see the Dr. The staff took her in the very room where her office was and closed the door. You could her her cursing and yelling through the door. I told the receptionist that I didn't understand I told her the only thing I was trying to tell her was that my vision was currently blurry due to my allergies and I have a history of allergies it is in my chart. She stated "do you want me to reschedule and the lady came out the room the tall bushy haired lady and said reschedule him. I asked will there be another person to take care of me when I come back because I didn't feel comfortable with her. The tall lady said when you come back you will have to see her that's her job. You see her before seeing the Dr. so do you want to just go. I said no, I want to talk to the Dr. She said it's not going to happen. I said so you are just going to let that lady curse me and be totally unprofessional? The tall lady said, truth be told you both were unprofessional. I asked her how was I being unprofessional by asking to see the the Dr. The tall lady began to loudly yell, Yes you were you are just as much to blame as her. Dr. Ferrell is a great Dr but his staff are unprofessional. read more

I had the worse experience of my life wi to eye care here today. I called the office on September 18th and made an appointment for today at 9 am. I was the first patient in the building and went to sign in for them to tell me they had no appointment scheduled for me today. The same thing happened to me last year at this location also. None the less I showed one of the girls working there where I had called and had an 8 minute conversation from someone in the office and informed her this was the second time this had happened they decided they would see me. It went downhill from there. I accepted I may have to wait a moment , even though this was their mistake, and I watched patiently as they saw 1 patient per hour for the next 3 1/2 hours. During this wait another patient that came in after me had already gotten tired of waiting and left. Me thinking that was the perfect opportunity for them to put me in and she was next up in the order of patients that proceeded to come in after me. Another patient went up and asked how much longer she would have to wait also for them to tell her she was next. At this point I realized they planned to keep me there until all of the patients there were seen which would have been over 5 hours of waiting. At that point I got up and asked them if that was their intentions or when they would be seeing me and was told it was not fair for me to be seen before the other patients there when I was a "fit in." I asked the lady if she thought it was fair to me, who is also a patient, to take off work for the second time now for an appointment their office set for me just to be told they never set the appointment. She was very unprofessional, didn't listen to what o had to say, didn't care that this had happened to me for the second time, nothing. I have been a patient of Dr. Ferrel since I was a teenager but he really messed up to me when he took on the MY Eye Doctor buisniess. On a higher note, I called Cathys Eye Care when I left and their office had me an appointment schedule 9 days out when My Eye Doctore was going to push it to November. Their staff at Cathy's was super nice on the phone and I look forward to starting to do business with them in the future. Further not My Eye Doctor originally was not even going to let me schedule another contact lens exam until December when my annual appointment expired even though my contact lens prescription had already expired. mind you I'm self pay so I don't have to wait for their annual allowance. Or shouldn't I should say. Just save yourself the time and book with someone else. read more

The doctor in the Milledgeville, GA is amazing the office staff is awful! They are rude, they do not greet, they do not interact in the most basic of ways. The tried to scam me on my insurance ( I now what my insurance covers and they she tried to tell me that I had to get reimbursement from insurance and pay over 700 up front, she was wrong and I proved her wrong before I left and when told that she was incorrect, politely, she said she assumed it was that way). The desk ladies never got off their butts or their phones to assist with frames or facial measurements. I had to ask for my license and insurance items back, she forgot they were in the scanner (but she didnt forget her phone was in her hand). Someone came in to make an appointment and the desk person said we are booked for a month go somewhere else. They tried to charge for warranties without asking if I wanted them. The desk staff is awful, rude and made it very clear that they did not want to be there. I will not be back read more

After picking my son up early from school and driving over sixty miles there for our two confirmed appointments, we are told they canceled them. First, we are told , I called yesterday and left a message; that's not possible, I never walked out the door yesterday, so there's no way I missed a call and there is no message, so they quickly dropped that excuse. Next, we sent you an email; no, only emails I received were confirmations saying don't forget your appointments. So, asked to talk to Dr. Ferrell and was quickly shot down. Last year, great experience; this year's experience left me probably never going back to this franchise even though I think Dr. Ferrell is great, and will probably consider not using MyEyeDr business at all because it was such a bad experience. Just to mention, I'm disabled and handicapped, so it was process just to get up, get ready, drive there and back, pick up my son from school early, and just be told, we canceled your appointments and have excuses made up in front of us. And I did double check, all of our contact information was correct and we were early for our confirmed appointments. Did get asked it we wanted to setup appointments for another day but no. On federal and state assistance, apparently wasted time, money, gas, and physical pain from the trip, no, I don't want another appointment to this office and probably MyEyeDr again. Even though Dr. Ferrell is great, I do NOT recommend this office/franchise in Milledgeville, Georgia. read more

While I love Dr. Ferrell and have been seeing him since my children were little and he now sees my grandchildren, the office personnel leave a lot to be desired. It was bad enough that I had to wait 6 weeks to get an appointment, but I get to the office today and found out that it was cancelled because I didn't confirm the appointment. They said that they called and left a message but I didn't receive anything so how could I confirm when I didn't know that. One person was in the waiting room and they wanted to reschedule. No thank you. I will take my business elsewhere as well as all of my family. read more

My appointment was at 330 and I was traveling from WarnerRobins so we left with plenty of time to make my appointment. In route we encountered heavy construction so I called and informed (left a voicemail because no one answered) them that I ran into construction work in Macon and will be 10-15 minutes late. When we reached Milledgeville there was construction again close to the My Eye Dr location so I was 17 minutes late instead of 15. The lady that came to the door was rude and stated I could not be seen because I was late. I explained that I called and left a voicemail and she said yeah we got it. I looked bewildered and asked then why did you not call me back and state this over the phone. She said let me get my manager. A second woman comes out I'm assuming she was the manager as neither woman introduced themselves... she states that I was over their 15 minutes grace period and I would have to reschedule. I then asked why did no one mention this 15 minutes grace period rule to me when I clearly spoke to them previously and stated I would be traveling from WarnerRobins. I also asked why there was nothing on their website about this grace period! This woman looks at me and says "Honey it's common sense"! Oh I held my tongue but did say that it is definitely NOT common sense! She then stated I needed to reschedule or wait around for the next appointment @4 to see if they don't show up. I said "No ma'am (because my mama taught me manners and was standing right there) I don't NEED to give you my business and I will find somewhere better. Good Day! read more

The staff is very welcoming and Dr. Ferrell was the only physician in the area that was able to get my prescription right. The wait time can be a little long but to have my eyewear comfortable and correct I am willing to wait. It wasn't a long wait time for my glasses or contacts. It would be nice if they had Saturday hours. Overall I would recommend and I will revisit. read more

My husband and I have been patients here for the past few years. I had an eye infection and had been prescribed eye drops by my family practice Dr. It occurred again so I called for an appointment to see my eye care professional. I was told that he was "double booked" for the rest of the week (today is Wednesday) and advised that I should call another eye Dr. in Milledgeville for an appointment because I "need to be seen." We have purchased our glasses and had regular checkups here for years...it is unfortunate that you can not be seen when you need a Dr. I won't be back. read more

The staff was very friendly. I was able to get an appointment on the day and time I needed. They were a provider with my insurance. Dr. Ferrell has excellent chair side manners. He is very friendly and very thorough. I never felt like the exam was rushed. They had a wide selection of frames that my insurance covered 100%. My glasses were there on the day they stated they would be. VSP is who my insurance is with and apparently they use their own lab, so the wait for my glasses was a bit long, but I was informed of this at the exam. I will be using them again. read more

Unfortunately, no matter how good every other experience is with a business, if the customer ends up with a product which is not what was expected, the final overall outcome is not positive for the customer. This happened to me recently when I went to MyEyeDr for an eye exam and 2 sets of glasses. I took one frame to be used for new lenses, but chose in the store a new, beautiful, expensive RayBan frame for the 2nd set. When I picked up the finals, my RayBans were not exactly identical to that displayed in the showcase. I spoke with the office manager, Lisa, about the discrepancy, and basically she made her position clear that I was wrong and she was right, and she offered nothing to mitigate the circumstances. What ever happened to "the customer is always right"? Originally, I had planned to get a 3rd set of glasses from MyEyeDr in the near future, but after this disappointing experience, I will never again patronize this store, nor any other with the same name. read more

I would not recommend this provider of services to anyone. Dr Ferrell is a fine doctor, Denise has wonderful customer service skills. Lisa the manager on 3 spate occasions gave me information that was incorrect. To be clear she lied. I went for my eye exam on 01/02/15. I wanted contacts. After several visits trying to get the correct contacts I found that I could not use contact. Dr Ferrell told me not to open the box of contacts and bring them back. I did this. Lisa the office manager waited on me when I returned the contacts. She said that she would have to talk with her manager to find out how to credit the contacts, and she would call me that day to let me know what had been done. I left my credit card number with her so that amount could be credited. I did not hear from her that day. I called the next day because I was concerned about my credit number being left at the office. She told me that she could not credit the card but could give me an account credit. That was fine because after all I need updated glasses. I went in the following Monday to be fitted for glasses. Upon arrival Lisa to me that she was sorry but I would have to wait for the authorization on my glasses. She stated she had called my insurance company and they could not give the authorization because they do not show the contacts had been returned. she asked that I give her a few more days to get the authorization. Last Thursday she again told me she had not received the authorization. Come back Monday. I was unable to go on Monday because of work. Yesterday I called and spoke with her again. I asked if everything was set for me to come in and get fitted for my glasses. She stated yes. I also confirmed my prescription was for trifocal. She stated yes. I told her that I get off at 1:00 pm, and asked if that would be a good time to come in. She again stated yes. She stated the Dr would not be in and it would be a slow day. When I got off work today. I go to the office. Again I was told there was no authorization. "What" ?, come to find out my contacts were never returned by Lisa. They were sitting in the back off. Yes I was very angry, Denise handled me the best she could apologizing, trying to calm me down. At this point no apology would do. Denise called Lisa, left a voicemail. Lisa returned her call. I let her know that she had lied, I asked for the district managers name and phone number. She tells me she can not give out that information that she would email her. I told Lisa I would not be leaving without a refund. She stated she had gone to the bank and would be back in 15 mins. She never returned. I was there 1 hour and 20 minutes. I did get a call from Vanessa who stated she was the district manager. I gave her a very detailed account of what happened, not allowing her to speak. All I wanted was the $261.00 credited to my credit card, nothing more. After listening to Vanessa reprimand Denise for how she handled me, I was done with this company. Denise handled me correctly, Lisa lied, Vanessa swept Lisa's actions under the rug. Vanessa did have Denise offer me a free pair of glasses. I did not take them, I will go somewhere else. read more
