Mushroom starter which was basically soup on a plate. Tasty soup, but soup nonetheless.
    Brendan W.

I like Greek food and after seeing their lunch deal on a bank holiday Monday for €12.50 for a starter, main and glass of wine I thought I would give it a shot! Staff are very friendly in here, so you cannot fault this at all. The surroundings are tacky. It's full of tourists. Nothing authentic about the vibe. As soon as we were seated and I saw some customers plates of food I kinda already started to have second thoughts. I ordered meatballs for starters. These were bland and not particularly hot which makes me think they were cooked previously and reheated. The boy got the mushroom starter which was kinda like mushroom soup with pieces of sliced mushrooms in it. This didn't come with bread so it was a bizarre starter to serve because he really needed a straw. He ordered some bread to go with it though and this was OK. For mains I ordered the pork gyro. I heard another table being told they could mix chicken and pork which I wish I had been told of when ordering. Nothing about my dish was great. It was all very very average. The moussaka was much nicer but kinda bland. We ordered some home made bread as we didn't feel like there was enough food between the 2 courses. This was ATROCIOUS. The worst thing about the meal. It was not fresh and had a terrible consistency. The wine was nice. It was an Italian Pinot Grigio and a good sized glass. If I had paid full price for what I was served I would have sent it back. This deal is technically good value but I would have rathered had gotten something really nice in just one course and a soft drink. Based on this I would not go back. But if you are on a budget really want some wine with your lunch then by all means go for it.

I've always been wondering why there are not more greek restaurants in Dublin, so Mykonos is a welcome addition. Located on Dame street, it's quite a tourist trap though, so don't expect haute cuisine- it's nothing fancy ...but the prices are very fair though. The menu consist of loads of mezzedes (tapas style plates) and about 10 main courses. Don't be fooled about the 'tapas' style plates, these plates are humoungous. The souvlaki consisted of a big chickenskewer, good portion of fries, pitabread, some salad and tzatziki. All that for 6,50€?? I wonder how big the maincourses are! The peasoup, prawns, hummus and moussaka were all quite nice. But we didn't care for the stuffed peppers, which were obviously pickled rather than fresh. We ordered a verdejo (white wine) - the cheapest bottle on the menu for 23€, and it was a really lovely wine!

Sardines and octopus on the menu? I'm there! If you're looking for an authentic mediterranean place, I can assure you this is probably one of the closest experiences in Dublin. Even the way the waiters go about their business is different, with no fuss, openly commenting on your food choices and suggesting what they think is better in a humorous tone. A few minutes inside Mykonos and you'll start believing you could be in Greece, with the white and blue themed decoration and colourful pictures of fishing villages hanging on the walls. To seal the deal, you have the delicious smelling food, which I'd put down as casual and homely, more than surprising or inspired. The small plates - mezzedes - are the stars of the menu, ideal to pick a few and share like you would with any other kind of tapas. There are many vegetarian options and also a few dips - tzatziki, hummus... - that go nicely with their toasted pita bread. Meat lovers don't despair, there's also something in here for you, like a mixed grill platter or lamb dishes. The wine list is almost as long as the food menu, and I was happy to be able to choose a nice light wine to go with my meal. What you can't pick from a menu are desserts, and that's because they change daily, but you're bound to find specialties there, like baklava. It's quite enjoyable and I know I'll go back, but when it comes down to it, the prices aren't competitive - particularly during lunchtime -, for such simple food or even portion size.

Greek salad and Starter. Half eaten already.

Had the lunch special which included a starter, main course and glass of wine, coffee or tea for 12E. It was well worth it. We has the Greek salad and Tyropita for starters. Both were delicious, fresh, crisp and flavorful. Both had the Gyro plate. It didn't have enough pita bread, just half of one per order, for the amount of meat. I tried a mix of chicken and lamb/pork blend. We ordered a bit more pita bread, but overall, it was delicious. We tried their red wine ( Merlot) and cappuccino. Both drinks were a good quality. We definitely enjoyed this moment to recoup for our continuing journey of historical sight seeing. Its endless in Ireland, which is steeped in history as far back as 2000BC. Amazing conglomeration centuries of mixed history.

There is a warm welcome from all the staff when you walk in the door and are shown a table. The full menu provides a good wide selection of traditional Greek fare - by the way the chef is Greek which also helps with the authenticity of the place. We tried a number of the starters: sardines (wonderful) taramasalata (really good) cabbage dolmades (fair but in a creamy sauce?) vine leaves dolmades (too much leaf) and then had the mixed grill which was wholesome & will fill you up (if you eat it all on your own :-)) would have preferred less of the charcoal burn on the chicken kebab and a little less salt in the kofta, but nice all the same. The baklava pastry was a tad dry but came with a refreshing sorbet. Topped off with fresh Greek coffees we left happily fulfilled and if only yelp allowed 1/2 points it would have been a 3.5 instead of a 3 as it wasn't enough to go to 4......

    My gyro plate

Excellent food, great ambiance, and the staff is very accommodating. We started with some appetizers; flaming cheese(saganaki), pita and hummus, and bread with olive spread and sun dried tomatoes. The saganaki was to die for and we went to heaven on the hummus. The baked bread with olive spread and tomatoes was pretty good but the bread was crispy which I personally prefer soft bread. I had the gyro plate which was made with traditional lamb and pork as supposed to the normal compressed meat tubes you normal see at gyro places. My son is a vegetarian and ordered the vegetable musaka and my wife ordered the meat musaka. The made a mistake and brought two meat musaka's. When we mentioned it, they were very apologetic and brought the vegetable musaka within 3 minutes. All in all, we would eat here again.

Visiting Ireland for the first time, I did my best to read up on good places to grab breakfast,…read morebaked goods in Dublin and Brother Hubbard popped up on a few lists, Reddit posts, so I put it on my list to try and I'm glad I did! I walked in on a Wednesday morning, right as they opened at 9am, and was seated immediately. The sit-in part of Brother Hubbard is bright, relaxing, spacious with plenty of tables inside and there's a patio outside with plenty of tables as well. The waitress came over with a menu and gave me plenty of time to look it over. She was very courteous and pleasant, checking in throughout my time there, never hovering. For breakfast, I ordered an Americano, a ginger scone, and their Irish Oat Porridge - Classic. Their porridge is organic oats made with milk and with ordering it as "Classic", it was served with cream and honey. Starting with the ginger scone, this was another case of a perfectly baked scone - Crispy, golden exterior with a moist, buttery interior. The flavor of ginger was perfectly balanced and the raisins inside were a nice supplement to the scone. The porridge was really good, I loved the creaminess of it! Both did a nice job of filling me up and setting me up for the day of walking to come. Funny enough, around 3:30pm, I stopped here again to grab a mid-afternoon treat and ordered the chocolate and hazelnut Babka, their soft bun filled with chocolate and toasted hazelnuts. This pastry was crazy tasty! A slightly crispy exterior with a croissant-like inside chocked full of chocolate and those toasted hazelnuts. This was so rich and truly decadent. Brother Hubbard is a gem of a breakfast and pastry spot! I appreciate the relaxing café environment with friendly staff and high-quality food. I know if I come back to Dublin, I'd come back to grab breakfast, or perhaps another Babka.

Brother Hubbard is a solid spot for breakfast and brunch, serving entrees, lighter fare and offers a pastry assortment that will have you pondering about getting takeout. I visited Brother Hubbard on a Sunday, half an hour after it opened and was able to be seated immediately. However, the brunch rush came afterwards and by the time I left, the entire place was filled. It's popular. And yes, it's the same spot Phil Rosenthal ate at. I even saw the owner who was featured on the show here, helping out with clearing tables and so forth. I ordered the traditional Irish breakfast and an iced chai latte. The food was good and actually, not as heavy as I anticipated. It came with an egg, sausage, bacon, beans and a pudding, which I had to look up. It's ground meat with oats and is molded into a patty. It didn't taste bad, so can see why it's served around these parts of the world. And the meal also came with another item I had to look up, colcannon bread, which was a potato bread with kale. And it was my favorite part of the breakfast! Delicious. If you're looking for a breakfast spot in Dublin, then I'm pretty sure you already know about Brother Hubbard, which is popular, all for good reason. The food was tasty, service was friendly and I loved how bright and welcoming the restaurant was. I was satisfied.

The vibe is relaxed, efficient, and no-frills, with the comforting aroma of charcoal-grilled meats and freshly baked bread filling the space. At around 6:30pm on a Friday night, the restaurant was almost completely full, and I'm glad our party of five made a reservation in advance, as we were immediately seated. The menu is extensive, ranging from your familiar favorites like Falafel and Halloumi to generous Mezze platters and large-format entrees. Prices are fairly standard for Dublin (€20-30pp) if you split several dishes among multiple people, tapas style. We began with a couple orders of their Fresh Lebanese Oven Bread (€2.50/pc); while it seems like a steep price to pay for a piece of bread, it's a generous portion, and it comes pillowy and warm out of their ovens, ready to be dipped in a variety of sauces. As a group, we decided to just split a lot of appetizers; we started off with their Warak Inab (€9.90), which were tender, stuffed vine leaves with toothsome rice, tomato, and parsley, with a hint of lemon juice and olive oil. Their Falafel (€6.50 for 4 pc) is solid if not stellar; each ball was expertly fried, but we found them a bit bland. Their Sambousek Cheese (€7.90) is what I can only describe as an elevated Lebanese mozzarella stick: a deep-fried pastry filled with feta and mozzarella, accented with herbs. I enjoyed that this wasn't too greasy, and the cheese had a lovely, slightly-melty texture. Their Halloumi Cheese (€9.50) was fried and grilled, with a mild flavor, complemented by the fresh earthiness of mint, tomatoes, cucumber and basil pesto sauce. Their Manakeesh were a standout - described as a "Lebanese Pizza" with very thin dough, we ordered their Manakeesh Halloumi Cheese (€12.90) topped with melty halloumi cheese and toasted sesame seeds, as well as their Manakeesh Meat & Tomato (€13.90) with minced lamb, tomatoes, red peppers, and pomegranate dressing. We appreciated the tender, slightly-stretchy dough, as well as the balanced combination of flavors and textures that each Manakeesh came with. Each was easily shareable - a bit larger than an American personal-sized pizza. Their Lamb Kofta BBQ (€16.90) comes with a juicy, charcoal-grilled minced lamb skewer, mixed salad, tahina sauce on top and on the side, and Lebanese Pitta Bread. The meat is well-seasoned and the tahina sauce is creamy and delicious, but we wanted a slightly larger portion of meat for the price. Lastly, we split a 2-person portion of their Kunafa (€16.90 for 2-portion) among the five of us, which is crunchy, string-like dough combined with stretchy, sweet mozzarella cheese, baked and lightly flavored with a homemade honey syrup. The mix of crunchy dough, stretchy cheese, and sticky honey made for a lovely contrast, though our Lebanese friend remarked that this version was much more red in color than she was used to. I will also say that we found this a bit overpriced for what it was.is brusque but not unfriendly, and relatively fast, even on a busy Friday night. There are cheaper Middle Eastern options for a quick bite, but this is a place I'd return to for a good sit-down meal! All in all, Rotana City is a decent option for Lebanese food in Dublin; it's pricey for what it is (especially with the mandatory service charge), but probably one of the only places where you can find such an extensive menu with both familiar favorites and traditional dishes. Service is a bit slow but friendly, and everything was solid if not stellar - not a place I'd go out of my way for, but a good option if you're craving Middle Eastern food!
