If you are planning a trip to North Myrtle Beach, do not stay at Windy Hill Dunes #1106 located at 3805 S Ocean Blvd. The unit was filthy, mold growing behind the guest room beds, furniture was filthy and torn. All the carpeting was filthy. Mattresses and pillows were stained. I have vacationed to Myrtle Beach for the past 10 years and these were the most undesirable accommodations I have ever experienced. I understand it is the beach and people change units on a weekly basis, but there was no excuse for the condition of this particular unit. The only redeeming qualities were the proximity to the beach and the stunning view from the balcony. The view earned the one star rating, which should really be an 1/8th of a star. read more

Where do I start. 1st of all when choosing options with Myrtle Grand I specifically asked if Camelot was an older/newer complex. I was told newer. 18 years old is not newer. 2nd the room was not clean. 3rd toilet not cleaned. 4th outdoor chairs not clean. 5th silverware disgusting 6th while we were cleaning the smoke detector is beeping. I had to buy a battery across the street for $8.63 I don't feel like the above issues are acceptable. We should not have to clean our room upon arrival after long day in the car with kids wanting to go straight to beach and pools. Our expectations are to be able to walk into our rental and it be clean and we're ready to go and relax and enjoy our family. Made trips to Target to get additional wipes and paper plates and plastic ware is exhausting. Had similar experience 6years ago at avista with Myrtle grand. Do not recommend. They would not refund cleaning fee. Owners of 716 Camelot should know their unit is poorly managed. read more

Where to begin. Booked with VRBO, got initial instructions from Red Awning, then Myrtle Grand Vacations (Property manager). Myrtle grand is terrible, they don't answer the phone or return your calls ... ever. They are there to give you the keys and take payment. Upon arrival Myrtle grand switched us from Island Palms C3 to Island Palms C2 and told me it was the same unit except it wasn't. The room slept 4 instead of 6, so we took turns sleeping on the floor/couch all week. The condo had a musty smell on arrival and cleanliness was subpar. Ants on the kitchen counter, dirty rag in the fridge, dishes inside of the dishwasher, kitchen items had food stuck in them, window blinds were dusty and stained, showers had dust and hair and half used toiletries left in one of the showers. This place had a 300$ cleaning fee ... obnoxious. I called Myrtle grand - no response. Went to give the kids a bath after the long road trip but no hot water. Searched the condo to find instructions to turn on the breaker. Basically you have to search the condo to find owner instructions - which are different than the Red awning and Myrtle grand instructions. Good luck figuring out which ones are correct. I stopped at the Myrtle grand office the next morning at 10:20am (they open at 10am) to try and get a unit that would sleep 6 and to talk to them about the condo. The doors were still locked, we knocked on the door but no one came out. I again called with no response. We did dishes for the first time the next day. The garbage disposal was broken and the water on that side of the sink wouldn't drain. We ran the dishwasher and it leaked all over the floor. I grabbed towels and soaked up the water and called Myrtle grand. They sent out a service guy who came out put down another towel and left. When we came back to the condo later that day the kitchen was full of water. Over Easter weekend I did 5 loads of laundry for towels to soak up the dirty water. No response at all from Myrtle Grand. Monday morning I was at the office at 10:15am doors were locked, knocked hard on the doors and they came out. Ken said he forgot to unlock the doors and didn't come out because it was a holiday weekend. They said they would come out Monday but never did. The stink from the backed up water was horrid, used a cup to remove all water from dishwasher myself. I did all dishes in the bathroom sink the rest of the week. We spent as little time in the condo as possible and checked out early. Never again. read more

We have had nothing but professional, courteous service from Myrtle Grand Vacations. I highly recommend them.

While the hotel itself was nice, I would NEVER rent again from Myrtle Grand Vacations, and would NOT recommend it to anyone. You would think that such a vacation agency would have decent customer service, but after our group stayed there, we have not received our full deposit back 3 months later! They charged for "cleaning fees" that we were never made aware of when we signed the contract. We had made sure everything was clean before we left, and took out all of our trash, etc. The owner, Walter, is just awful to deal with! After countless emails and phone conversations, we have gotten nowhere, and he doesn't even seem to understand the issue. Not only that, he seems to be the only one to be contacted. So overall, Baywatch was a great place to stay, but Myrtle Grand is a horrible agency, so rent through other agencies if you want to stay at Baywatch!! read more

Nothing but stress caused by this company! My family bought a condo in Myrtle beach. Myrtle Grand was the rental agency that it was listed with when we purchased it. They are difficult to contact. The company seems to close whenever they feel like it. They also seem to change their phone number making it tough to contact them. They haven't sent us the check after people rented our unit months ago. They charged us like crazy for small items that needed to be replaced, without consulting us first to tell us something needed to be replaced. I could truly go on and on. This place is a headache for tenants and owners. P.s. we no longer use them as our rental agency but they still have our unit listed on their website, so if someone rents it they will be disappointed when it's not available the week they already paid for! read more

I booked a penthouse rental at Ocean Bay Club in North Myrtle Beach through Myrtle Grand Vacations (MGV). 25% down payment was made on December 1, 2011 for rental at the end of July 2012 with the balance paid later. It is one of the nicest condos and the employee that checked me in even said it was his favorite property that they rented and that we were so lucky to be renting it. When I got to the condo, everyone else had almost all of their things moved in. Walking into that condo and seeing everyone so happy was fantastic. And then I noticed on the entry table papers that were someone else's rental stuff with Condo-World for the same unit for the same week. How could this happen? How could two rental agencies rent the same unit for the same week? How did they each have working keys for the same unit? The other people had just secured their rental recently and were paying $2,000 more for the week than me. I called the MGV office and spoke with the guy who checked me in. He told me I'd have to clear out of the unit and come to their rental office. We didn't leave the unit but I went to the office with my brother. When I got to the rental office, their business manager told us that the owner of the unit had moved his unit to another agency. I was later told this change happened in December 2011 but somehow MGV were unaware until July 28, 2012. They presented us with a couple of options for other places we could stay, one of which was a unit 4 miles up the road and only ocean view. We ultimately ended up there. We were contemplating waiting for the police to come. This is when the idea of a refund was mentioned by the MGV business manager. He didn't get specific but mentioned that they just wanted us to get our vacation started. We could deal with the details on Monday. Of course this sounded fantastic to my brother and I. We were even openly saying things about getting a free week rental the following summer as well, because "the customer is always right", to which the employee who checked me in replied, "Not always." Something I definitely thought was odd at the time. The MGV business manager and other employees present were fully aware of our expectations. On Monday the business manager presents us with a $200 refund and a free Fall weekend stay. When refund was mentioned, I assumed a full refund. Instead we get what amounts to a 7.7% refund. We told the business manager that we wanted to meet with the MGV owner. We were told that we could talk with him on the phone. On the phone the next day the owner offered us an $800 refund. He painted himself as a victim. He repeatedly told me that I needed to be reasonable. He just wanted us to get past it all, move on, and enjoy our vacation. It felt to me like he didn't really care how much this impacted us and how horrible not only the check in day was but also the unit we were actually staying was in comparison to were we had booked. He didn't really care about our 30 plus year history of vacationing in Myrtle Beach and how this was poisoning that well, or about the family reunion that was ruined because of our relocation. He wanted the problem to go away with the bare minimum done on his part. The offer was emailed to me Wednesday about the time I figured out the owner was the employee who checked us in the first day, the one who raved about how great the unit was. He was on site while we discussed the whole situation but made no effort to identify himself as the owner and he was the one to say, "Not always", in reply to my brother saying that the customer is always right. It felt like the owner manipulated us from the outset. He hid who he was from us instead of being open and upfront. It would have been so easy for him to have said that he was the owner and he was going to take care of us. Any place that self identifies as having the best customer service in Myrtle Beach would have acted that way and wouldn't have hesitated to make it right by giving a full refund. read more

Myrtle Grand Vacations is awful. We own a condo in Myrtle Beach and we used them as our rental agency. They have been a nightmare. They rent our condo but we don't see the money. As stated by a previous reviewer it takes months to receive payment and if and when you do they deduct charges for maintenance without contacting us first for permission to do said repairs. We had a winter rental this past year we have yet to be paid for. I have terminated services with Walter Pig but he refuses to take our listing off his website, and I now come to find out he is still collecting rentals for the coming season when he knows full well that the locks have been changed and he has no access to our condo. He refuses to refund payments he took from these potential renters. Beware DO NOT book from him or let them manage your property. read more

I have never had an experience this awful before. NOT an exaggeration. I normally post good reviews. I'm not hard to please. Before you even think about booking with them, please, please, I urge you to check out their numerous complains with the better business bureau. Many people had much worse experiences. The fact that they are even still in business is a shock to me. I left the following complaint on facebook in August after they ruined my vacation, but after looking to book a second vacation and seeing their horrible business on yelp, I had to review it again. I booked a package online via Travelocity, which was listed by myrtle grand vacations. I have used Travelocity many, many times, even booking time shares, and I have never experienced this level of incompetency. I arrived at 10pm on my check in night, to the address listed on my confirmation sheet and was told they had no record of me. Finally, after showing them my confirmation page, the lady at the front desk told me "Oh, you booked through myrtle grand vacations, I don't know how they get away with this. You have to go pick up your keys from them. This has been an ongoing problem" She literally had a stack of papers with the address- that's how many people this happens to. I had to drive an hour away from my hotel to their office, to get my keys from an unsecured box outside. Anyone could have just opened it up and taken my keys, but apparently this is perfectly acceptable business to them. Then, after an hour ride to their office and an hour ride back, at MIDNIGHT, I arrive at my hotel to realize there is a lockbox outside with the keys to my condo inside them, that this two hour ordeal wasn't even necessary. My husband and I, tired from the ride, jump into the shower to see there is no soap, and only a little bit of toilet paper in the room. Then when we get out of the shower, my husband throws down his towel in disgust because there is a huge period blood stain on one of the TWO TOWELS in the condo! The floor also had black streaks across it! Disgusting! I read a paper left with my keys that told me I would have to clean everything in the apartment and remove all trash! I was feeling quite upset at this point, but then I read that I had to drive all the way back out to their location the following day before noon or they would lock me out of my apartment! I called Travelocity, who said that there was nothing they could do- that they can only post the information they are given by Myrtle Grand Vacations. Just wait, it gets better! So I arrive at their office the next day, obviously upset. Since they majorly screwed up, I am assuming that they will make some attempt to make the matter right. Any other reputable business would make an effort to make up for their mistakes, but not MYRTLE GRAND VACATIONS. Instead, I was ignored, told it wasn't their responsibility to inform me of any of that information, told to sign a contract, and charged an additional 85 dollars for a "cleaning fee" even though our condo was unclean when we arrived. I told the woman working that I felt scammed. She just nodded at me and just kept on typing on her computer. I asked to talk to a manager, and was told that in the middle of a Wednesday, there was not a single manager that could help me. The woman was VERY NASTY, refusing to assist me, telling me verbatim "I could get more belligerent to you, but I am trying to be nice" as she talked over me. No one at the office took ANY responsibility for the mix up. They blamed Travelocity and me, giving me condescending explanations of "Let me tell you how this works." I don't care how you use Travelocity or any other company to advertise, if you use them and screw up your add, causing distress and inconvenience to your clients, you should make up for it. That's what any other reputable, trustworthy company would do. Even though both of the people who helped me viewed my confirmation page that had no information and viewed THEIR add on Travelocity and saw that it had NO information WHATSOEVER about any of this. Then I am told that I did not have to clean my condo, that the paper was left in my envelope by mistake? I don't even know if I should believe that, the way this place operates! Even though I have been yelled at, spent 4 hours of my time going back and forth to their office, and voiced my very real concerns about their business practices, this company made NO EFFORTS AT ALL to make anything right, refused to take responsibility for their shady practices, and overcharged me for my stay. DON'T BOOK WITH THEM! ALL THEY CARE ABOUT IS GETTING THEIR MONEY, NOT BOOKING YOU A "GRAND VACATION"... They are still booking with Travelocity and numerous other locations with no information whatsoever as to their ridiculous policies. BEWARE! read more

Stay away! I rented a condo at Barefoot Landing and it was disgusting! Filthy! The furniture was torn and outdated! Blood stains were on the mattresses! The carpet was filthy and the appliances did not work! When I went to the office to complain the Manager offered me a refund. He promised it would be credited to my account. When I didn't see it, he stated that I needed to sign a contract first promising that I would not release negative comments against the company! It is hard to know where to begin! This review is speaking from an owner of property, who was allowing Myrtle Grand Vacations (Ken Drakeford & Walter Pigg) to handle rentals for the property. They seem so pleasant to deal with; however, we found that most things they say or agree to are just empty promises. They rented our unit out all last summer, thru April 30, 2018, and we have received no rental income to this date for any of these rentals. We will probably never get the money owed to us, but take this as warning to never do any type of business with this company, or these two individuals. I used MGV to manage my condo for 1.5 years. During the second half of 2017 service declined materially. I terminated the contract as of December 2017 and never received a 1099, statements and money from my last quarter. They stopped answering phone calls and emails around the same time and have moved their location twice in the last 6 months. Their website is often not working. Walter Pigg at Myrtle Grand Vacation is awesome, he suggested Sands Ocean club for me. I stayed in room 429 that had 2 bedrooms, 2 baths, the beds were amazing, the place was clean, the condo had a full kitchen with everything you need to cook a full meal. The room had a full balcony overlooking the ocean. The beds were amazing. There were towels, linens, and Myrtle Grand gave you some supplies to start with, you can get a few extra supplies downstairs at registration, but remember this is a condo not a hotel, so bring your own toiletries, soap etc. The resort itself was amazing, I wrote a big review on trip advisors, but it had an indoor pool, an outdoor pool, lazy river, an indoor bar called Sandals with music and karaoke, an outside bar called Ocean Annies, that you could sit and listen to music while at pool. They had a restaurant a spa, an indoor laundrymat. They have a 4 tier lighted free parking deck.The price was right and I even had a check in on a Sunday evening, which they left the key and a packet in the lockbox outside and just gave me the code. Checkout was a breeze. I had no problems, I would definitely recommend Myrtle Grand, just give Walter a call, he will help you out. read more

January of 2014, my husband and I signed a rental agreement for our townhouse with Myrtle Grand Vacations. We figured that we should leave renting our home to the professionals, since they do a thoro background check (much better than we could possibly do, I thought). I was informed in the later part of January that they rented my house to a 66 year old woman. Needless to say, the owner, Walter Pigg and I parted ways in May of 2014 due to discrepencies on his part (which I will not go into, but just use your imagination). On January 1, 2015, we came back to N. Myrtle Beach to have our tenant sign another lease. We had some problems during the course of the year with her but we were willing to resign for six months to a year, since the market wasn't that great to sell. I tried all weekend to call her and even drove by the house but she wasn't home. Before we left to go home, I tried one more time and noticed thru the back window that there seemed to be no furniture in the living room. We asked a neighbor and they said that she hadn't seen any activity there in awhile. I banged on the door and said landlord coming in. I opened the door and there was no furniture including items I had left in the house for her to use. She stole my tv, floor lamp etc. She shut off the electric and water and totally trashed my house. There were feces all over the walls, floors and cabinets. She destroyed my carpets (spray paint, magic markers, food and any type of liquid that they just spilled on my eggshell color carpets and left. She broke all electrical outlets, broke handles off cabinets, broke my screens and some were just missing. Broke my dishwasher, put plastic utensils and other debri down my garbage disposal in the sink. She let the water run upstairs and destroyed my ceiling. Need to replace my ceilling. My microwave was unsalvagable. We had to throw it away. I need a cleaning company to professionally clean my house (feces all over the bathroom and the tiolets were clogged and everyone of them (I have three) were loaded with feces smeared in the bowl. It hadn't been clean in a year. I can go on and on. Probably need all new carpets and we need to paint. There was broken glass in my kitchen and outside in backyard. All the walls and doors were disgusting and needed to be cleaned. She aslo had a dog which was against regulations for our HOA. She took off with our post office keys and storage keys. All need to be replaced. I called the police and they came. After the police officer was in my house for awhile, he realized that he was at my house on December 15, 2014 because the woman that lived there had a warrant out for her arrest. That is why she left (moved out) thru the back of the house probably at night because she is on the run. I googled her and she has a criminal record and has moved around so much from Virginia to South Carolina. Now, If I can find this out so could have Mr. Pigg. Obviously, he did not do a background check and now she has destroyed my house which is costing me money to fix up to sell. The police were paying a visit to Mr. Pigg to see what information he had on her (probably not much). BEWARE AND STAY AWAY FROM MYRTLE GRAND VACATIONS. We are disputing the amount charged by Myrtle Grand Vacations. Earlier this year, we booked a one week trip to a rental property located at 4314 S Ocean Blvd D-1in North Myrtle Beach, SC for the week of 7/18 - 7/25. On the days of 7/22 & 7/23 from approximately 8am to 8pm, the building roof was being replaced and since we were on the top floor, the unit was borderline uninhabitable due to the constant pounding noise and men walking across the balcony and using it for work space. When we called to complain about this disturbance, the property manager said it was just an emergency repair that they had no control over, however - it was not a repair but a total roof replacement and when I spoke to the job foreman of the project (he was standing on our balcony) he said the job had been scheduled months prior. In addition, when I asked for some kind of compensation credit for the inconvenience, either monetary or some event tickets or something to get us out of the house, I was told 'who is going to pay for that? Why should the owner pay you for a minor disturbance?'. It was clear that they didn't care that we had paid a PREMIUM fee of $2200 for our first vacation in FOUR YEARS with our 3 y/o son and family. I went to the rental office the following day to complain and ask why we were not informed of this work either when we booked the unit or when we checked in. I was told that they were just a rental office and they would voice my concern to the property manager but since I had already spoken to the PM, there was little more they could do for me. So in summary, imagine having two of a seven day vacation ruined by a MAJOR disturbance like this. I have photos of men walking across the balcony and using it as storage for debris (rusty nails!) - no privacy, constant pounding, etc. This is unacceptable and ANYONE would expect some kind of compensation for this. We rented this unit in good faith that we would have a relaxing time and by no means were looking for an impromptu reason for a discount or anything of the sort! These reviews have a purpose...if you're thinking, "Ah, just a few aggravated people that have left bad reviews - this place can't be that bad" Wrong!! Listen folks, stay as far away from this place and these people as possible unless you want your vacation ruined. I booked three months in advance, for an ocean front room for my family for 10 days in July 2015. I was called on my way to the beach and told there was a problem with my room. They either double booked it or it had mold in it...they said they had to move me to another hotel for the first 3 nights. I was told by Ken (management), this was all they had, no other choice or don't check in. After 3 nights I would then get moved again to yet another hotel for the rest of the week. Neither of which was the hotel i originally booked. To keep this review short - let's get to it...my wife and I spent the first 3 nights sleeping on the floor as the unit was not even big enough to use an air mattress and no way could we all sleep in this unit (it slept less people than what we booked), all while having a view of a noisy parking deck and a marsh swamp...which was capped off by then being sent back to another room mid vacation. In the second room I had to actually remove the pipes and fix an hvac leak myself (as well as spend 3 hours cleaning up 1/8 of an inch of standing water in the kitchen). Both rooms they put us in had a vomit smell in them, things were torn, dirty, ripped, several electrical outlets didn't work...lights that didn't work...i could go on but you get the point. I'm not really even complaining about the general cleanliness issues - i would have accepted that, just the lack of effort by Myrtle Grand to work with me on some sort of partial refund for the downgraded room as well as the troubles of the last minute room changes all while trying to salvage my vacation! Their advertised rooms are neglected...I feel sorry for the actual owners of these units that have them in their rental program (not surprisingly, some of them have left reviews here as well) .The staff/manager/owner of Myrtle Grand Vacations (Gina, Candi, Ken and Walter) which I dealt with, will lie to you. Gina and Candi seem nice...they probably are, but I have placed 21 phone calls to them over the course of almost 3 weeks and have gotten nowhere because they have to wait on management. Ken who states he is the manager can't make any decisions on his own so i'm not sure what his purpose is and the entire staff will just keep putting you off. Hopefully, if you have read this review to this point, whether you are a renter or a unit owner you will take my warning and go elsewhere - they have a very specifically detailed rental contract you have to sign that covers them carefully in all these scenarios...they have it this way for a reason! I predict a response to this review similar to all their negative BBB reviews along the lines of "the customer was offered a FULL refund"...that's just not true and it's not that simple, so don't let a response like that offset this review or their BBB complaints, if you do, just as I did, you'll be writing a similar review very soon. In the time it takes you to read the next review, you can easily search the internet and find another rental company with much better services and staff to handle your vacation...and probably at a much lower price...so I recommend doing that...save yourself the trouble, you are saving nothing by using Myrtle Grand Vacations. read more

My brother and I rented Casa Del Sol from Myrtle Grand Vacations for the week of 7/9. The homeowner ended up leaving this real estate company and moving the management to Elliot Rental. I called in after making a full payment to confirm the stay and they had moved us from a private house to a cheap "resort" without notifying us. I was alarmed and immediately felt like I had been scammed. After talking with the customer service rep, she got the owner (Walter Pigg) to issue a refund for $2500 because of the mistake. 12 days later a refund showed up for $2350-$150 less than what was promised. I called & spoke with the owner (Walter Pigg) who was extremely rude and hung up on me after refusing to refund the $150 "cancellation fee" that he didn't mention 12 days before. He said it was used to cover credit card fees (there was a refund!). I didn't cancel my rental agreement with them to get another property, I just wanted the one that I had initially agreed upon. This company is a scam! 4/20/13 EDIT: I wanted to update others to warn them to stay away from this company. I made a complaint through the BBB and Walter (owner) offered to refund the $150 if I would remove all reviews online that I had left for his company. I booked the Barefoot Edge rental unit on January 27, 2015 for July 15-19, 2015 for a three bedroom unit on the beach with a pool. This was a family vacation planned for 7 people, including my 8 month old son. Driving from Ohio, I received a call from Candy 1.5 hours before arriving to the rental office to check in on July 15. She informed me that our unit had an "emergency" although she couldn't tell me what it was, and said our unit was no longer available. She also expressed to me that they were occupied, with the exception of a 2 bedroom unit which meant one of the three couples would have to go elsewhere. I asked how much we would get back if we switched to that unit. After Candy checked with management, she said we would only receive $200 back. $200 would not cover five nights of hotel expenses for the couple that could not stay in the unit, and the family would be split up. My husband asked Candy if they could refund us in full, but comp us one night in the two bedroom unit so that we could figure out a new plan. Management's response was, "Sorry to be blunt, but that's just not going to happen." Management instructed Candy not to help us search for other available units in the area. After a 10 hour drive with an 8 month old baby, our vacation was ruined very abruptly. My entire family spent the rest of the drive calling countless rental agencies, including travel agents, trying to find a new place to stay. The manager, who I assume was KEN DRAKEFORD, REFUSED to call us while we were still driving. Candy expressed to us that he would talk to us once we arrived to the rental office. To say that he was rude, was the understatement of the year. My husband asked him why he wasn't in the office if "emergencies" were occurring in his units, and he said that it was his day off and asked my husband if he got days off. However, my family spent their "days off" wondering where we would sleep for the evening after driving ten hours in the car. I asked Ken what he could do to help us, and he said that he would refund our money. Refunding the money was less than acceptable since they left us less than two hours before arrival to find a new place to stay, with little internet service on the road and reception that was cutting in and out. Ken abruptly ended our conversation by saying, "Just go check out. Good bye." However, I found checking out a little difficult to do since we were never able to check in. Unfortunately, everything was booked and we were not able to rent a place at the last second since Myrtle Beach was in prime tourist season. Hotels, including the Super 8, were also booked. We were forced to drive back with no where to stay. He wouldn't even comp us one night to stay in the available unit so that we could at least have somewhere to stay for one night and not have to worry about driving back with our baby. They refused to help us look for additional units and said that was "against their policy." They ruined our vacation, and the manager had absolutely no remorse. I'm sure he would be just as upset if this happened to him on his family vacation. His treatment to us was despicable. I would never recommend this company to anyone else and I hope the company is shut down for their horrible customer service and disappointment of how their business is run. read more

Awful service. Booked a house and was notified the day before arriving that our reservation was already booked. Was told that we were "upgraded" but the condo didn't have any of the amenities of our original house. Complained to the lady Candy for some sort of a reimbursement and she told us there "wasn't anything she could do for us". DO NOT book with Myrtle Grand Vacations. It is a money trap and the worst service staff I have ever encountered. Nothing was clean, the unit was infested with ants, there were cough syrup bottles under all the beds, the carpet was wet and smelled like urine, there were holes in the wall, none of the games in the game room worked. ONE TV out of SEVEN worked!! No one would answer our phone calls or send the cleaning service to come over. The hot tub was broken for the entire stay and the pool was clean. WARNING!! DO NOT RENT FROM THESE PEOPLE!!! I rented a 3BR condo in Mar Vista in North Myrtle Beach from this management company, Myrtle Grand Vacations for the week of 8/19/2012. The apartment condo was in ok conditions besides 2 broken DVD players which I reported to these people. The linens are $25 per bed including bath towels. Today I checked my credit card and I was charged $200!!! FOR WHAT?? If anything I only used 3 beds!! $75!!! not $200!!! These people charged $200 without any notifications and worst of all NO BILL of to what I used!! So there's no proof what I used and they just made up a number and diducted $200 without my notification!! These people are a SCAM!! They are not trustworthy!! I had to submit a dispute with my bank center on these people and had to cancel my card and get a new one because of the fear that these scammers will take more money!! I can't believe this! This is very un-professional, this company has horrible management!! I'm not the only one that give these people a very low rating, look at other reviews "search on google" and you will be convienced on not to use them! My mistake was that I didn't read the review beacuse if I did, I would have never rented from this scammers. I wish there was a way for you NOT to give any stars! Trust me they don't even diverse the one star I had to give them! I would advise everyone to stay away from this company!!! The owner Ken and his staff cancelled our reservation. Charged our credit card an unauthorized amount and failed to communicate as requested. My wife booked a reservation through their service on 3/7/13 at one price and was charged accordingly. Then another rep called her back saying the original person did not charge enough. After speaking with a manager our card was charged more than authorized. When my wife called to uncover the reason for the overcharge the owner refused to communicate and cancelled our reservation. It took one week for the refund to process on our card. We called 3 of the next 4 business days to get a confirmation email stating they refunded the charge. On Thursday 3/14/2013 I specifically asked for an electronic confirmation of our conversation regarding the refund. She assured me she was typing it up as we spoke. I never received it! Very dissatisfied with this company, the owner and their customer service. read more

Actual Stars: 0 The agency is a ripoff! The following is my personal experience with owner, W. Pigg, and his company, Myrtle Grand Vacation (MGV). They rent to anyone without doing a background check. They occasionally "forget" to send you your portion of the rental income collected. They do not check on your rental unit as agreed. They won't give you any portion of the security deposit when renters break the lease. They keep any monies when renters have completely destroyed your unit and all furnishings! I lost approximately $12,000.00 from damages incurred by renters (some not even on the lease) placed in my unit by MGV. W. Pigg offered to help me file a police report and court case against the lousy renters that he placed in my unit, but only if I would pay him for ALL costs involved. MGV provided no compensation for any of my losses. W. Pigg kept all monies that he managed to collect from those renters before they were evicted; I received nothing; not the security deposit or even the renters' names and forwarding addresses. I had to pay for private investigators to locate this information in order for me to file a police report. Bottom line: Do your Due Diligence. Research the Internet for information from real people before engaging in a life-altering experience with Myrtle Grand Vacations. [Note: the BBB lists my case with MGV as settled. I did not settle anything with W. Pigg and MGV. The BBB either received compensation from MGV or they became tired of the ongoing issues between W. I only give one star because it's the only way it would let me leave my review. I am in a battle now to try and recoup money owed from a reservation that never came about. I am out $150.00 for a cleaning fee on a room I never saw, after being told the owner decided he wanted to stay and therefore I no longer had a reservation, no warning, no I'm sorry let's see if we can help you, just you do not have a reservation here. I had made my reservation well in advance, and this was a business trip, for a convention in town so rooms were not readily available. The staff was not helpful nor were they polite. I finally found a replacement room on my own at a much higher price, I am also still waiting for my refund that I was told I would receive. I would advise anyone to stay away from Myrtle Grand Vacations, use someone else. I have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. read more

Only you can decide if you want to rent from them or list your unit with them. Here is what we experienced as a condo owner in their rental program 2011 to 2013! 1. Rental Manager Voice Mail box and Company Owner Voicemail Box full almost always throughout the year, including right now. 2. Rental Income Paid Late 10 of 12 months in 2013. 3. Waited more than 90 days to close out account and pay after we cancelled rental agreement. 4. Generated 1/4 to 1/3 in rental income as compared to Baywatch's own rental program in 2011, 2012, 2013. 5. Negotiates special vendor pricing for its rental owners significantly higher than fair market value like a $300 cleaning fee vs industry Standard of $100 or less. 6. Owners in their program expect to experience slow or no response at all from emails and voicemails left for rental manager. 7. You will experience a high number of Deliver Charges and Maintenance Charges on your owners statement, you will wonder if they are real. You decide if you want to do business with this company, this is my experience. read more

If you are an owner looking to rent out your property do not use this business. Our condo in Barefoot Resort was severely damaged from people who rented it for only 6 months. The carpet was destroyed, couch damaged, closet doors broken, the place reeked of cigarettes, lamp was broken, kitchen items taken and we found a plastic CRACK PIPE! We found the CRACK PIPE AFTER Myrtle Grand had done their cleaning. A CRACK PIPE that luckily I found instead of my small children. The security deposit was "burned up" we were told to steam the furniture and clean the place. They gave us no notice that this had happened. We arrived for our own vacation to discover this mess. They assured my husband that they did checks monthly on these renters which was an obvious lie. They obviously did no background check. If they had just googled the renters name they would have found drug arrests for the past 2 years. We have asked to terminate our agreement with them and Walter Pigg advised my husband that he has to "review our account for lost advertising costs." They have accepted NO responsibility for what happened. Besides the lack of screening renters, their cleaning service did a horrible job since there was still a CRACK PIPE left behind AFTER they cleaned. So disappointed in our reservations with Myrtle Grand Vacations! First time in many trips to Myrtle Beach but will be the last, I am sure. We arrived on Sunday to find that we had been placed in another townhouse that was much too small for our family. Our booking agent called Saturday before we left on Sunday but never mentioned that we had been bumped from our original townhouse. When I call the contact person on Sunday, she is on the beach and says we will have to come to the office on Monday morning to make any changes. We were told the place we booked was over booked and we had to be placed some place else. I went to the office before 10:00 Monday morning and was told that we could receive a refund without any problem! It's been over a month and no refund. I called and they promised to get back with me. As of today no call and no response! I will not give up. If they could not give me a refund, why did they say they would be glad to without any problem. read more

I would choose zero stars if I could. PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS RENTAL COMPANY. We booked a North Myrtle Condo from them through VRBO?RED AWNING this year. They took our money several months ago and processed the payment. We made repeated attempts to get information from them in the past several months preparing for our family vacation. They never answer the phone or return calls. BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE! 7 days prior to departing for our vacation we get notification via email that our reservation has been revoked and we no longer have the condo. Several repeated calls to the company over the past two days have yielded no response. They do not answer the phone, you have to leave a message and hope they will call you back. Remains to be seen if we get our money back but I can guarantee you, I WILL BE MAKING A PERSONAL APPEARANCE IN THEIR OFFICE NEXT WEEK! This is no way to treat a client and put a family out of a vacation in less than a week's notice. BUYER BEWARE. I will also be filing complaints with the BBB and the South Carolina SCC. I rented a 3 bedroom condo through this agency. When got there they told me that the unit I had reserved was not available because the owner had decided to stay! We were moved to a comparable location and unit but with no regard to other people that in our group who were staying at the original resort. Felt as though they really did not care about the switch. we were about 2 miles away from out original location. Also we reserved a condo that slept 12 but the one they one they gave us one that slept 10. Again we had to make adjustments to our vacation. We also had an issue with the smoke alarm beeping late in the evening called there maintenance hotline and they would not come out and fix it. we had to deal with trying to get the smoke alarm to stop beeping( we did not have a ladder) and pull out the battery to get it to stop. Over all I would never use this agency again they were horrible and inconsiderate of our needs and really did not care. Beware! read more

I have never stayed in a vacation condo that was in such bad shape. The Unit is 1022 in the Avista and is managed by Myrtle Grand Vacations. First of all, check-in time is 3pm and the office closes at 3pm on Saturday. I asked what would happen if there was a problem. She said to call and someone would call me right back even if the office was closed. Well there was a problem as soon as we arrived so I called and got the answering machine. No one ever did phone me back. There was a large hole in the bathroom door, there was a large vent missing so that HVAC pipes and wires were exposed, the bedroom door handle was broken, two of the four stove burners did not work, none of the TV remote controls worked, the beds were so uncomfortable that we had to go to Walmart and buy mattress toppers to be able to sleep and there was no cable in one of the bedroom TV's. I reported all of these problems and no one cared and the owner didn't even offer a discount. I would never use this company or stay in this unit again. read more

I don't recommend going through myrtle grand vacations if you are a student group going for beach week. I went to beach week in 2010 for high school grad celebration. The condo myrtle grand vacations gave us itself was (apart from a little hidden trash here and there) was pretty decent. They charge entirely too much for a deposit fee and because we were a student group they tried to refrain from giving us our security deposit back even though we left our condo spotless, cleaner than we in fact found it. They're claim was that they kept the security deposit because of a an automatic "cleaning fee" , which was found nowhere in the contract. Luckily one of the girls in our student groups mother was a lawyer and we received our payment back in full. I just think they want to take advantage of the student groups so once again I don't recommend staying there for any type of student beach week, try somewhere else.. read more

There should be neg stars! This company is a huge scam! WARNING!!! DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!! My husband & I booked a room through our membership through Westgate. I paid for a special room at a resort for my sons 2nd birthday. This was supposed to be a special weekend for my family because my husband was deployed when our son was born & on his 1st Birthday. We get there & they sent us to wrong address to get our key (never telling us that we don't check in at the resort). But they refused to tell us where we could get our keys until we gave them my credit card number. When I asked why did they need it because I already paid for everything, the rude lady replied "It's just in case anything in the room get broken. Like a broken lamp or something." When we finally get our keys, they had us at this other hotel (not even a resort) not the resort I paid for. They gave poor directions to that place (which was far away from family that came to celebrate this special weekend) once we got there it was really late. The room was absolutely disgusting! There was broken Christmas balls in the floor & other Christmas decor. There was nasty dark hair all over the bed (on the sheets, pillows & dirty comforter), there was pubic hair in the bathroom (on& around toilet, in the shower and on towels) The microwave had crusty old food on it & in it. There was a small loveseat that was absolutely disgusting! It was so filthy and gross we just put up our sons travel crib to let him sleep & my husband & I just sat up all night because we had no clean place to lay down! I got on my phone to call them back, they just said to return the keys in the morning & go stay somewhere else! So I we did. But Myrtle Grand Vacations already took $85 from my card. When we returned the keys & told the manager about everything, he apologized & promised to return my $85 "within 2-3 business days". It has now been a year & I still don't have my money back! I've even gone through the BBB to get my money back & have got no where because they claim they don't have me in their system (even though I still have pictures & receipts) & the BBB says they cannot do anything since I booked through Westgate cruise & Travel (even though they paid me back for ever cent they took for the trip) Myrtle Grand Vacations is far from grand! They steal your money and provide terrible service and are exremely rude. I've dealt with Grace (Myrtle Grands manager) & she promised to return my money as well, but never did. Then decided to refuse my phone calls & refused to return my calls! NEVER USE THIS COMPANY UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE RIPPED OFF & WANT SOMEONE TO BE RUDE TO YOU!!!! Do not assume your reservation with this site is valid. On June 13 I made a reservation and received email confirmation for the 'Sea Winds 708' condo in Myrtle Beach, SC. On June 18 we packed the car and were on our way with our 2 daughters when fortunately I called from the car for a GPS address. Guess what?? No reservation and nothing available. We had also purchased over $300 of non refundable Alabama Theater show tickets? After receiving this devastating news we pulled off the interstate and I asked the receptionist to let me speak to the manager. The manager gave me the same story which was basically 'you're screwed dude'. He nicely explained that the email confirmation I received (Res# 03072) also stated that a reservationist would contact me within two business days to confirm the booking and I would receive an email with the check-in information and directions. I told him I never received a call or an email and to be fair, I paid little attention to the email verbiage. I saw the dates and the rate calculations were correct and there was a confirmation number. The manager simply said they were not able to contact me so the reservation was cancelled. I asked how the contact was attempted since they obviously had my email address and I had included my phone number. He said they called but there was no answer. I asked why a voice message wasn't left but he couldn't confirm if the caller attempted to leave a voice message. I asked why they needed to contact me when they had all the credit card information and my personal details. He stated the confirmation emails are automatically generated and then they receive a notification. After they receive notification, their procedures are to contact the customer directly. What?? I've made hotel bookings hundreds of time on line and I have never had a problem. We eventually were able to get 2 adjoining hotel rooms by dealing directly with a hotel. Unfortunately the cost at that point was much higher and the quality of the accommodation left much to be desired. Bottom line, if possible try to deal directly with an owner but be aware that these realtors also represent a lot of supposedly 'Rentals by Owners' also. read more

We booked an oceanfront condo online and then the next day told it was not available. They put us into a "comparable" unit. Well if looking at the parking lot on your balcony that the doors will not even open to is comparable then I guess I had it wrong. The air conditioner unit was not working properly so we called about that, some of the electrical outlets didn't work (including where the coffee maker was set and that is just a nightmare right there). There was supposed to be an outside grill- again couldn't find that but Myrtle Grand just said, oops we shouldn't have advertised that. Then the kicker was something very brown on my 7-year old's comforter. Obviously it was not washed and I am just going to kid myself and say it was ice cream. I can't even take what we are pretty sure it was. We sent a picture to Myrtle Grand Vacations with this but of course no response. We tried to change locations but they would not. Luckily MY HUSBAND found us a new location. Both of my kids got sick a few days later- not saying it was from the condo but hmmmm.... makes you wonder. We turned our keys in to Myrtle Grand vacations after staying only one night and never did we hear "I'm sorry" or anything else. We tried to get a refund but after a month they just said they could not. My recommendation is to go with ANY other rental company because I know I will. read more
