Don't believe what you see when you look at the listings on their website. Units are awful, don't look anything like the pictures that they put on the listing. Some of their staff is very helpful but the units are in very poor condition and may take multiple calls to get a good person to come out and fix what your issue is. They will tell you that something is fixed when it isn't. Buyer beware when looking at the listing on the website. If you feel like rolling the dice, good luck. After booking last October for barefoot resort I was given a call hours before check in and told there was an ac issue and I was being upgraded to Myrtlewood. This was not an upgrade. I should have gotten a refund. There was blood on the light switch, many stains on the carpets, booger looking things on the outlet and wall in one room, dead bugs on the floor, no holder for the toilet paper in the bathroom, terrible pans for cooking, etc. the pictures I have aren't the best and I didn't photograph everything but did take some to post here. Do not stay here. Not at all worth the money. We left early. Couldn't sleep at all. read more

Run from this place. I booked through Expedia for my employee. There is no place to park a moving truck. I spoke with the office and they offered a parking spot 3 foot ball fields away and stated they have to follow HOA rules. I asked to have this room canceled and refunded so my employee can find a room some where else. She said she would refund me and to call Expedia. Expedia called the hotel and the same supervisor stated she would NOT refund the room. I then looked at my receipt and realized the 100.00 room also has a property fee of $156.00. For one night. We got a great room with two bedrooms and two bathrooms and everything was very clean on the main level. We recommend working with Ashley who was really easy to work with and extremely friendly. We may have gotten lucky with the rooms but overall great experience and we recommend it especially if you're going golfing it's near a lot of the courses and a lot of the restaurants. read more

There were no batteries in the master bedroom TV remote control. The washing machine doesn't work properly. The dryer takes at least two cycles to dry no matter the size of the load. The egg chair on the back patio is dangerous as the main beam is bent. It fell over when someone in our party attempted to sit. The refrigerator doesn't work properly. The worst part of this vacation experience was the front desk staff. We advised them of all the problems the first morning as we arrived very late the night prior and the office was closed. The young lady trying to help us was new so needed help from her coworker. The coworker stated that these issues would be looked at before the end of the day. Condo was great. Management company not good at all. Never sent us check in information had to call multiple times and spoke to them 5 minutes before closing to get check in information or would not have gotten information to check in if I called. I stopped in the office in person and the male said we will send you everything as soon as good to check in but never did. Then door keypad died and took us over 1 hour to even get someone to answer the phone as the only number given to us said mailbox full. Finally we asked for 3 bedroom and 2 beds in 1 room but all three rooms had 1 bed, leaving 1 person to sleep on the couch. The original email for Myrtlewood Villas was your family will be talking about this trip for years to come, well, they were right. Probably not in the way they thought though. We arrived on June 24th to check in at Myrtlewood Villas. Check in was scheduled for 4 PM. We WERE early as it was 2 PM. I went in to check to see if our unit was ready, or if we could be notified as soon as it was. Imagine my shock, when the ladies at the front desk, stated they could not check me in because I used hotels.com and didn't book directly with them. Now, I would completely understand if had a question about my booking, they couldn't answer and I would have to contact hotels.com for the answer. This entire interaction was so unhelpful. I asked how do I check in then? Answer, we don't know you didn't book with us. How do I get keys to the room then? Answer: we don't know you didn't book with us. So you can't check me in, answer: you didn't book with us call hotels.com and see if they can get you a room key. EVERY communication I had up until that point had been to contact Myrtlewood, with their phone number etc. Myrtlewood themselves emailed me TWO days before check in, looking forward to your stay...this hasn't been the first, and I'm sure won't be the last that I use another booking site to book a vacation. Every time before this for years, we have NEVER had an issue. My flabbers were ghasted. I walked out to the car. In 100+ temps where everyone was waiting for me and said I don't know what to do, they won't check me in. We sat in the car for a few minutes and then I sent a chat message to hotels.com virtual help desk. I was immediately sent to an agent who then escalated the case within 5 minutes and had an agent call me. The agent tried several times to call hotels.com but they refused to answer their call. After being on hold for 20 minutes, the agent said at this point he was no longer going to try with Myrtlewood Villas and would instead try and find us a replacement stay. He was so apologetic, he didn't understand either why they wouldn't check us in, and stated that this directly effected their contract with the company. This entire nightmare ended up being a blessing in disguise. Hotels.com found us a new unit at Beach Colony Resort, which is oceanfront. MWV was several streets away from the ocean. I still, days later, am so blown away by the service at Myrtlewood. If they don't want to offer outside booking sites, then why use them? I am so thankful for hotels.com. The agent we had to fix things for us made sure to find us an equal place as far as kitchen, bedrooms, bathroom. Were there some issues with the new place, sure. They lacked in supplies for the unit BUT the location alone was a huge upgrade. We made due with less kitchen supplies than we were expecting. We had plenty of room in the unit for 3 adults and 3 kids. The hotel was steps from the beach. The pools were nice, the poolside bar was affordable and the drinks were good! Everyone at the front desk was helpful. So yes, this will be a vacation we talk about for years to come but not for the reason they originally thought. Anytime anything noteworthy happened on this trip, it was an immediate, thank you hotels.com. Bldg 4695 room 102. Why do people think this is a HOTEL? The condos are owned by people who rent them out while not in use. call a few days before and get specific on your needs (ie king bed, new building, need first floor etc) you are only going to be given the bare minimum things for your stay, much like if you rented a cabin for camping! Bring items you know you will need for specific cooking etc. our unit here had plenty of glasses and dishes for the maxium occupancy allowed. but pots and pans were cheap and crappy Any door you see that does not have the card slide on the door handle is someone's home- they aren't on vacation they live there, so be courtious and don't be loud and obnoxious and keep your children in check! We very much enjoyed our stay here. yes the 2 bedroom condo we rented was not immaculate, but it was exactlly what i expected. Fairly clean and it was nice that it was freshly painted (although the painters were lazy dummies). the hard flooring also looked new. the carpets in the bedrooms were badly stained- but when you get a bunch of YA-whos that don't give a crap about others propety that is what happens! The "rugs" in kitchen and under coffee table looked like maybe they were cut out leftovers from the replaced flooring of hard wood. the bathrooms fixtures were outdated and needed updating. the door leading to balcony in master bedroom had a keyed dead bolt and was unusable by renters (this did not bother me since there was a sliding door) we booked through expedia and were allowed the use of the indoor pool and lazy river. which those were far away from our unit. But there was a pool right outside our unit. Expect to do a little minor cleaning when you get there, I don't think that the cleaning people are actually employees of the resort but most likely contracted out by either the owner or by the resort on behalf of the owner. they do the minimum. And they don't remove items left in the refrigerator! so please throw away your stuff! I brought a few cleaning items with me, but the unit did have a swiffer sweeper along with a few cloths for it. broom, mop, vacuum. The condo had enough towels (thin white hotel type), wash cloths, hand towels for each person. They provided 1 soap for dishwasher, 2 bags for kitchen trash, many bags for bathroom trash. hotel type bar soaps and small shampoo and a small lotion. and a roll of paper towels and scratchy toilet paper. ******THERE IS A 24 hour Bi-lo and CVS very near by! ****** The beds were nice. 2 twins and a queen (they can push the twins together to make a king and should provide a insert for the center). there was the goose down type bed cover under the sheet that made it very comfy. there were a few extra blankets but the beds are typically sheets and a comforter only and 1 pillow per person. It's the beach and typically hot! so if you are cold natured bring a blanket from home.Also Remember the owner puts the furniture in here for their needs. There may be 4 twins, just depends on the owner- could be a single guy who comes and golfs with buddies! Expcept for the inconsiderate neighbor from NY who kept taking the only handicap van accessible spot out front- in which two spaces over was actually less walking distance to their door!! which made us have to back my huge van in everytime in order to use my son's wheelchair lift and we prayed no one parked next to us! we had a nice stay. SO TIPS**** Bring dish washer tablets, extra kitchen trash bags, bath soap, soft toilet paper, shampoo/conditioner, extra roll of paper towels. any pot or pan that you feel you may need or maybe some disposable casserole pans. (hand wash dish liquid and a scrubber of some sort for stuck on stuff). Dust cloths (i brought 2 swiffer sweeper dry cloths) laundry soap (purex laundry sheets are geat for travel!). Bring extra blankets, towels, pillows if you think you will need them. liquid cleaning needs(I brought a bottle of all purpose spray but wish i brought one with bleach in it) and you might want some window cleaning sheets or something if you want. lysol spray or wipes for disenfecting. also some bug spray this is the south we have Palmetto bug, and roaches! plus its a rental so someone may have been a nasty renter! Questions- message me! Pros- can save money traveling with family by bringing items you already have from home. and cooking your meals there. Its very close to Broadway at the beach and other activities! Beds were comfortable. Has a ice maker (but will take a day or 2 to fill up!) washer and dryer in unit so you can bring less clothes! Highly impressive! We travel A LOT for travel baseball, and have for years, and this is by far the WORST place we have ever stayed! We are only halfway through our stay right now (building 4823 unit 302) so let me share some of our "highlights" so far... 1. AC went out the 2nd night. Called maintenance and they were quick to respond. It has worked ever since. 2. Pillows all have some weird yellow stains. 3. Kitchen drawers being held together by tape. 4. EVERYTHING is old and outdated. 5. Stains all over walls and carpets. 6. Bathroom faucet drips 7. Headboard not even fastened together...just propped up 8. Closet door not attached/falling off 9. Beautiful view from balcony HOWEVER the smell of dog poop from the green space below makes it impossible to enjoy sitting outside. 10. Sparks shot out of electrical socket in the kitchen. 11. Lint trap in dryer was so packed full of lint not only on the screen but down inside it too, had to be cleaned out before using. Shocked there hasn't been a fire! 12. Sheets don't fit the bed. 13. Cabinet door had fallen off and not repaired. 14. Mysterious scuffs and stains all over walls. These are just a few of my dissatisfactions. I consider ourselves fortunate because some of our friends/family staying in other units have had problems with BED BUGS and roaches...so I guess it could always be worse. Based on what I'm reading from other reviews there really is no point in complaining to management/owners because this kind of thing has been going on for years and they've failed to do anything so far. Beware! This is one of the worst I places I have ever stayed. As you search for great value in accommodations, it would seem that Myrtlewood Villas would meet your needs but read the real reviews. First, do not believe what you see on their web site. Things are not as they appear and when we asked about some of the "complimentary" amenities listed on their web site, there said they are not really available.  Don't be fooled by the pictures of clean looking rooms. This place was the worst dump. The units are individually owned condos that are rented during the year. Some are much older than others. Out of 6 condo our family rented for a reunion, 5 were similar in extremely poor condition. The real scoop When we checked they gave us our keys and said the maids had just finished with the rooms. When we got our condo, the maids were still there but they were waiting on some extra bed linen because of blood that was in one of the bedrooms. The blood was not only on the linen that had been removed but on the carpet. They did not have proper cleaning supplies/equipment to clean/sanitize any guest rooms. They were using and old broom to sweep all the dirt on the carpet the a dustbuster type vac to then run over the debris that was then on the carpet. As they tried to hustle out, they left some of the blood stained carpet, and they used a Swiffer to wipe the floors (no mop) Please take a moment to look at the actual pictures. Beds that do not match, completely worn out sofas (you would not want to sit on these), thick dust on the ceiling fans, filthy floors and carpets. When we saw what the condo looked like, we went to complain at the office. When we asked for a manager, none was available and a sales associate was being unresponsive. Until we started discussing the blood in the condo in front of a lobby full of people waiting to check-in. At that point, a supervisor who had been sitting behind the counter asked us to step into another room and she would take care of us. She said the do not see the condos and the maids do not let them know the condition. She asked me to send her the pictures I had taken. The new condo that she moved us into was better but not by much. There were blood stains in the "clean" sheets in the second condo. BEWARE!!!!! Do not book here!!! This place should absolutely shut down!!!! When I got there I had to wait with my elderly parents in the car in almost 100 degree heat because my room was not ready upon arrival! My sisters room had nasty towels from the previous resident when she arrived. The floors had not been swept. There were somebody's hairs in the beds. There were stains in the bedspreads. My floor had enormous spots on it!! The trash from the previous tenants was still in the trash can. The front door was broken. We had to use a butter knife to get out the door. This was a safety issue at this point. The General Manger Nicole Hadad was absolutely useless and excruciatingly incompetent! This place needs to be shut down. First off I checked in 8/31 at 4pm to a dirty unit. Towels in the bathtub, beds not made, ants on the countertop, trash in garbage. Overly frustrating when you have been driving over 4hrs and guest reservation specialist call you at 12pm to get a card on file and Lie telling you that your unit is clean and ready for you. Then the second night after being out all day return to maintenance patrol and the owner of the unit below stating that his apartment is leaking from the ceiling. Once you open the door your unit is flooded because the washer doesn't work and is told not to shower because of damage. Poor tenant looked so disturbed and wanted to cry, I felt so bad for him because the service at the place was TRASH!! All this happened at unit 4687 #302. When I reached out to the RUDE front desk people the day of check out couple hours after the event also which was a holiday Labor Day they said that I waited to late to say something and didn't have anything on file of the mishap, even though you can see in my video the patrol guy and him taking pictures. The place was horrific from beginning to end I'm so glad we was only there for 2 days and checked into our other hotel. I wouldn't recommend this place to ANYONE! Nothing good came from this and I really hope they replace Tory & Mathew at the front office! I wish I could give a negative review because I would! read more

My family and I checked in at Myrtlewood villas Myrtle beach sc. into one of their houses. we spotted the sand and dirt on the floor once we opened the door. Went upstair, trash was in the trash can. The carpet wasn't vacuumed and every time you walk you could hear the floor cracking in every room. I politely went to front desk and showed them the pictures of everything that I had found wrong in the house. Top it off I'm a housekeeper director on my job. I won't be booking back again. This could be a good vacation experience but the lack of attention and customer service ruins the experience. We made the best of it for our kids but the ladies demanding a refund should have been a hint. Even still this was advertised as a two bedroom room & 2 bath condo. The bedding is old and the king bed is two twin beds pushed together. Furniture old and outdated. Fridge has rust spots and the cleaning is bare minimum from the onset. They don't allow ck in until 4 pm and rush you out at 10am. Pool is at the front it's also older and one of the pools didn't worked/ closed. My family and I went to visit Myrtle Beach, there were three of us; my daughter, my husband, and I. We stayed at Myrtlewood Villas from 9/25/21-9/28/21 to celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary. We ventured out for the first time to spend nights away from home since the pandemic started. This was not a good experience at all. If I could give zero stars, I would. It was so traumatizing that we left several hours before the checkout time (10am). Upon arriving to the location of the condo, LL 203, we saw a large cockroach crawl across the walkway. Absolutely disgusting. Following this, we entered the place. The decorations were nice, but it could not compensate for the lack of cleanliness. It felt dirty. There were smudges on the bar and counter, indicating that something had been spilled and not cleaned up. The toilets were not clean either, the poop stains in the hall toilet bowl, hair on the back of the toilet, and dirt in the shower made it clear that no cleaning had been done. The bed linens clearly had not been washed, changed, or updated. I am unsure of how long they had been there, but they looked dingy. The carpet in the living room and dining room had spots and stains, proving that it had not been cleaned in forever. I brought my own cleaning products, thinking about COVID. I cleaned the counters, bars, and toilets to our satisfaction. My husband sat out on the balcony and told me that he had to kill a cockroach crawling on the carpet under the table. This was not the last incident that proved that a roach infestation is growing in the entire set of properties. At 4am on 9/28/21, our last day, I got out of bed to get something to drink. I was walking from the master bedroom to the kitchen. The only light on was the light at the bottom of the microwave, so it was rather dark. But, as I was walking and looking ahead to the kitchen, I saw a dark spot moving on the wall next to the refrigerator. I froze out of fear, my mind starting to turn to prayers, "Please don't let it be a roach." I slowly turned to the kitchen light switch and flipped it, turning it on to illuminate the kitchen area. Low and behold, it was a roach crawling down the wall. In an effort to leave the pest calm, I slowly turned around to go to the bedroom to get my phone so that I could take a photo. My husband, confused, asked what was going on. As soon as I told him about the disease ridden creature, he moved quickly to exterminate it out of fear that we could bring roaches back to our beautiful home. He killed it, as you can see in the uploaded photo. After frantically leaving the property, I read all the recent reviews and decided not to complain to management because I noticed that nothing had been resolved with the other customers. This was our second time staying at Myrtlewood villas. The first time in 2016 was like a dream, all the appliances, furniture and bathrooms were clean. The view of the golf course was calming, there were no roaches to kill on the balcony. I did not have to cringe and overthink about wanting to sit on furniture or use appliances. Whenever I woke up in the middle of the night, I did not encounter anything out of the ordinary. Everything was kept up, I am unsure of when these properties and their quality started to rapidly decline. To pay $100-$200 or more per night and be on a splendid golf course, there should be a high standard and quality that comes with that. For Myrtlewood villas, this is no longer valid. It is the poor quality and standards that are offered to its customers. It is rather disappointing because it has such a high potential to be better as I described. That being said, my family and I will never be visiting this ghetto golf course ever again. Condo was not worth 2800+- stains on rugs, cheap bedding, disgusting box springs, dirty bathrooms, exposed shim under toilet, no curtains on curtain rod, broken blinds on patio door, dryer knob missing arrow, washer kept stopping mid cycle, dishes smelled, dining room table had 3 chairs and whomever was staying above us (renters or owners?) had TV blaring at 3-4AM, and stomped around starting at 5-6 am just making an already overpriced stay more disappointing. Only positive was location near local shops. Pools are all tiny, security guards were completely rude and told our 14 year olds who were playing wiffle ball, "no games". Don't partner with Ripken if kids can't have fun. of the 700 units only 100 are rented by the company we rented through and they had no idea what the HOA dictated. read more

My family and I enjoyed our stay at Myrtlewood Villas. I was a little worried renting here due to the other reviews. We rented a 2 bedroom 2 bathroom condo. There was a king size bed in the master, and a full size and twin bed in the second bedroom. The unit was clean and up to date. There was no trash or stains like I read in some of the other reviews. Paper towels, toilet paper, dish washing cloth, small laundry detergent, dishwasher soap, hotel size shampoo, and lotion was provided. There were matching dishes, cups, pots,pans, and silverware provided. I was very pleased!!! I know some of the other reviews say things were dirty and not provided, but the owner of this unit is on point. I guess the other owners should take note. The only thing that needed to be changed was the shower liner in the master bath. There were no bugs in the unit either. There are bugs outside, but that's where they belong...outside. My only issue is checkin is at 4pm, and the amenities of the resort close at 5 pm. You're charged a resort fee of $15 a day, and not going to be able to use the resort amenities the first day there. Overall, our stay was FANTASTIC, and I would most definitely stay there again. read more

After driving 10 and a half hours to enjoy some time at the beach. The stay was the last of my worries. I have been in the car since 4:30 this morning and at 2:58 I pull in for my room key. Upon arrival we were told it is a high turnover day and they they do not have our room ready. It has not been two hours of being hungry and sleep deprived, we still have not been given our room key. We were told the people are cleaning it but they have no clue how long that would take and aren't able to give any sort of round about time. 2 hours 20 minutes and counting. Stayed here with my family for my younger sister's dance competition, and all I have to say is yikes. I'll start off by saying how unclean our condo was. Bugs everywhere, (which I get can be hard to control in South Carolina weather conditions) however with what we paid something could've been done about it. We even found a dead bug in one of the glasses upon entry. The floor was so filthy. You couldn't even walk around barefoot in the comfort of your own place without your feet turning black. Then, things just weren't functional. The shower in the twin bedroom was broken, you had the choice between scalding hot or ice cold, and whenever you went to adjust the temp, the pressure went down, like it was about to shut off. Bare minimum cooking supplies. We had no wifi the first two days (when it was promised upon arrival.) After leaving a voicemail about it, the wifi started working somehow (slow, but worked.) I should also say the entire complex was pretty much a dead zone. Things in the room kept breaking too. We were literally all in our rooms and one of the wall decorations fell off. Then, one morning we woke up to the curtain rod by the patio door slanted and falling downward. Overall just very rickety and dated. I will say that the location was perfect, and within 5 minutes between everywhere we wanted to go. The space was a true match visually to the photos we saw online when booking. The beds were comfortable, just the perfect amount of firmness. The pools were quite nice and well- kept, we all had a good time there. The outside of the property was pretty too. We survived the week, but it's safe to say we will not be staying here again. read more

Unit 4843, room 103. Absolutely disgusting! Extremely dirty (and 3 blood drops on the floor) to go along with the zero up-keep/maintenance. I ended up mopping the floor with just hot water (found a mop in the closet but no chemicals). The worst part was when I went to the office to show them the pictures and asked for a manager, I was giving the "manager will call you" but that person never did. I went there 3 times. I ended up leaving early because my son refused to stay (one night he wanted to sleep in the car). At checkout, I asked to speak to the managers boss (as they refused to even speak with me) and I was told that he person will call me. Been almost 2 weeks and still no call. read more

My overall experience with this place is a 2 star based on from the time of booking to checkout. It isn't solely based on the place itself, but if that was the case it would be a 1 star. My family and I just sold our home and was looking for a place to stay while our new home was being built. As we were looking (VRBO aka Homeaway) we came across this condo. It seemed like a nice place. All the amenities included and allowed cats. We then contact the owner of the unit to inquire about a quote for an extended stay. To see if the quoted price on VRBO was negotiable. It was and the owner gave a discount. It was all imputed on an invoice. We agreed and signed. During our stay, we had a few problems to say the least. Noise from neighboring apartments because there is no sound proofing between floors. We were told because of the HOA call security to complain about it and they will come into the unit to hear it and was supposed to have log it. So we did. They came, didn't stop in our unit, assuming they said something to them, and left. This happened multiple times. We contact the owner and said we were not pleased of the accommodations and will be moving and when we find an available place. During the conversation with the owner, she wanted to argue that we didn't tell her we found a new place or that we were looking to move. (But I have the text message between her and I as proof). She also told us upon check out our cleaning deposit will be refunded. Well that time came. We payed for an additional week, to which we ended up staying at a friends house over the weekend because of the noise. Now, my wife asked the owner about the cleaning fee. Her reply, "Since we didn't stay 90 days according to the Myrtle Beach Hospitality Tax of 13%, we owe her more money." Mind you, we still haven't signed an agreement with all the stipulations (Legal Documents) that list all fees. Okay, long story short. My family and I stayed here from July7th-July11th. This place is a dump. Apartments need to be updated, the cleaning staff did not do a good job, we had to purchase cleaning supplies amd clean. The sofa bed mattress had a huge blood stain. The tub fills up when you shower. The carpets have never been cleaned. Patio screen was hanging off, closet doors off track. There was an issue with the door not locking..then not opening! The mattress were horrible felt like you were sleeping on the mattress springs! Very thin comforters. The staff was unprofessional. You got different information from different people! The Wifi didn't work, dvd player didn't work and the TVs in the bedrooms were about 10 inches! read more

Location- wise it's great but other than that it's in need of major interior renovation. The cleanliness was poor and the furniture looks worn and smelly. It was disgusting. The remote controls did not have batteries nor were all the remotes present so we could not watch any tv for a few days. What bothered me the most is that I requested to have the roach we found removed and cleaned. The Roach remained in the unit throughout our stay. This is unacceptable! There is no excuse! How it happen that a roach ended up in our unit, I understand, but what I can understand is why the cleaning department didn't take care of this after I explained 3 times that we need the unit properly cleaned. I am very upset to have paid so much money for a week rental to live like this! The manager offered a minor discount to compensate but that's not what I want. I want a Clean room and comfortable unit that is in working order. I want a working and comfortable bed. Bathrooms that are updated and cleaned The unit should be completely remodeled. It's a dump. The public housing in Florida looked better than this unit we stayed in. They don't make you aware of the various restrictions when booking. For example they advertise that their are est 6 pools but they don't tell you that you are restricted to the pool in your exact vicinity. The only pool where there are no restriction is the indoor pool. (So technically you can only use 2 pools.)The indoor pool is not properly cleaned & has a strong chlorine smell due to them adding more & not cleaning it( murky water) etc. the bathrooms at the pools are also not monitored or cleaned. The lazy river also is also not a river. There is no a current so you have to push yourself along. When calling the front desk they also gave me contradicting information about the pool & its usage. The villas are individual owned so everyone's living conditions (decor, cleanliness) will be different. While our living conditions were not bad, the sleeper sofa was broken. So one of our members had to sleep uncomfortably. I'd look elsewhere read more

I give the establishment a ZERO. A reviewer earlier summed up the situation about the unit we stayed in 4833 number 302. Broken closet doors, disgusting carpets, broken furniture, ice maker leaks so it is clumped, dishes don't fit in cabinet, it did not appear to be vacuumed, junk under the beds, toilet leaks, master bath toilet bangs when you get up and does not flush correctly, torn patio door screen, patio door difficult to open and close, rusted dishwasher, bed linens too short and small for the beds, ancient mattresses, pool chairs locked up, master bathtub has a crack in the bottom that feels like you are about to fall through, touch up paint that does not match, trash on stairs that didn't move the entire week we were there, front door doesn't latch correctly (three strangers walked into the unit when we thought we had it completely shut and thankfully we were there) and we got charged $50 because one of the cheap rubber bracelets you get as a pool pass broke when it was taken off. People who were with our group stayed in that unit last year and it appears nothing has been done to fix it. Each bathroom had a partially used toilet paper roll. You are provided one dish towel but no dishcloth. The only good thing about this unit is that it was close to the pool. If I managed the property I would be embarrassed!!! read more

The condo is nice and roomy, they have an indoor pool area with a lazy river, a 1ft baby area and a very small hot tub. The pool needs to be heated. The did not play and there. They loved the lazy river (bathtub warm) but the temperature in the building was very cool. They have heaters but they never were on. Temps outside were 30s. Also there were no bathrooms or changing rooms at the pool. Being in the 30s and having to walk to the van was not fun. They need to drop some money into this area. It is the only thing to do during the winter months when staying here. The staff was nice and friendly. read more

Myrtlewood Villas - Resorts Near Me - Myrtle Beach, South Carolina

A group of 8 of us spent 5 nights at the Myrtlewood Villas. We were there for a golf vacation and upon our arrival they had put our two groups a 5 minute walk from one another, the problem is that I had called a week before to ensure that our groups were next to each other as we had several older men in our group. I spoke to several people at the front desk and they said there was nothing they could do. We left a bit disappointed but excited for the vacation and we went to our separate condos. Both condos were extremely outdated and in our condo the refrigerator wouldn't close all the way. The garbage disposal didn't work in either of the rooms and both of the condos had broken coffee tables. I called the front desk to ask about extra pillows as one of our group members had a bad back, they said housekeeping would send pillows. I called each day and stopped by the front desk on 3 occasions to ask for the pillows and was told each time that housekeeping would send pillows. The pillows never came and the staff was less than helpful and appeared to be frustrated with our group asking questions and looking for help. There are an abundance of other options in the Myrtle Beach area and I recommend that you stay elsewhere. read more

The front desk staff are incompetent of doing there job my room had a pull out couch that had nasty dirty sheets on it the master bathroom toilet was running day and night the entire stay reported the issues to the maintenance staff and front desk staff and nothing was done about it they tried to falsely accuse me and bill me for damage done to one of the beds but they couldn't tell me which bed it was and they said they have no documentation of me calling them in regards to the issues I was having i will NEVER stay at this facility again and i would NEVER recommend them read more

I stayed at Myrtlewood Villas with my fiancee for 5 nights and 4 days. This was out third time saying there. Needless to say, we will not be going back. First of all , we stayed in room 305, bldg. 4773 from 8/19 to 8/24. The blinds were broken in some rooms, the toilet did not flush properly, and the kicker is that two twin beds were out together to make a queen sized bed. The sheets were washed so many times that it smelled of industrial bleach. The porch on the villas has furniture which was not working. The television in the master bedroom was like a 19 inch tv. I paid almost 800 dollars and when I asked to be changed to another room, the front desk said no. We were also placed in a remote part of the building. Needless to say, I will not be back. read more

KEY THINGS TO KNOW: 1. THIS IS NOT A HOTEL. They are condos that are privately bought and then rented to vacationers. 2. This a HIT OR MISS property because all rooms are not created equal. Fortunately for us, we lucked up and got a nice room. It was just my husband and I, so we got the smallest unit. I'm sure the larger units are a little more worn out since a lot of families come here with kids galore. My advice is if have 2-4 people, get the smaller room. Not only is it large enough to hold 4 people (there's a pull out sofa int he large living room area), but I think you increase your chances of getting a nicer less used room. 3. The best part is there is a washer and dryer in every condo, so remember to bring your own detergent and wash the comforter and sheets. 4. No regular house keepers or room service. Bring your own trash bags, Lysol sponge, and dish liquid to tidy up a little. And again, I say wash your sheets and comforter. 5. There is a CVS 1/2 mile away at the light if you forget. 6. We had Wi-Fi in our room, but I've heard that some condos do not. In all, this place was aiiiiight. I did my research so I didn't have too high expectations. The bathroom could have been a lil cleaner, but it is what it is...and what it is, is NOT a hotel. lol read more

This place was pretty nice for the price. The "extras" were is desperate need of updating (vhs, tiny tv, old furnishings etc). But, it was clean and quiet. There were no major issues. Instead of putting an extra bed in the master suite, there should have been a pullout couch in the living room. There were SEVERAL wasp's nests on the balcony. I took care of them myself as I didn't want to wait for maintenance. Show the units and property just a little more TLC and 4+ stars would be a cinch. read more
