Are you in the Luray area, but have your beloved pet with you? Is it too hot or are pets not allowed in the sightseeing destinations you're intending to go to? Look no further - Mystic Pet Resort is about 2 miles out from the Luray area, and they offer day boarding, overnight boarding, dog socializing, grooming, as well as other pet supplies and accessories. The people are nice, they accept cash only, and the place is CLEAN and does NOT reek!!! The rates are quite reasonable, and my baby came out all clean with even a bow in her hair (and she's a pug!). Love this place, and I highly recommend it +pet boarding/spa in the Shenandoah Valley area read more

My 5 month old puppy day boarded here while my partner and I did some fun things in Luray. I was nervous leaving him since it was his very first time being boarded, but Gareth and Lena took such good care of him. He was very happy leaving. Clean facilities and nice people all around! read more

Traveling through Luray with your dogs (or cat!) and planning to do a day or two hiking Shenandoah, but don't feel like bringing the dogs for those "dog prohibited trails"...well this is your spot and the answer. I am SO glad I stumbled across this place prior to our trip as it really made for a less stressful time while planning our hikes for Stony Man and Hawksbill Summit. The owners and staff are very welcoming and even allowed us to see the kennel that the dogs were going to be boarded in for the day along with the outdoor area for them. As told, the dogs were let out at least 3x for a day boarding. As dog owners, we appreciate this! Also, reservations were easy to make over the phone-prior to the trip. Just make sure you have your dogs vaccination records on hand and ready. Lastly, for $20 a day per dog to have them boarded from 8am-5pm, it's priced affordably and the dogs needs are met. If we are traveling through Luray again with our dogs, we will definitely keep this place in mind as it allows the dog owners some "dog free options" while on vacation. read more

This place is amazing, the staff were all very friendly and outgoing. I took my dog, Coco (bichon/poodle) for a doggy daycare day and while there I added on a grooming session. They showed my daughter and I the kennels at drop-off, which were very clean and in working order. The grooming job was fantastic, Coco has never looked better, it was also very reasonably priced. I would definitely take Coco back for sure whenever I am in the area again and I would highly recommend this facility to others. Coco was very well taken care of and she was so happy! read more

We have been taking our pets to Mystic for four years for boarding and grooming. We have 2 English bulldogs which is a very high maintenance breed. Gareth and Lena treat our pets like their own. Our dogs are always so excited to go to "camp" (that's what we call it.) We know we will pick them up well loved and taken care of. Mary and Lena in grooming are just as amazing. I'd never take our dogs anywhere else but Mystic! read more

I want to tell you about my recent experience with Mystic Pet Resort and Spa in Luray, Virginia. It was only the second time I have ever left my four-year old kid with someone else overnight. Now it's important for you to know that I refer to my dogs as my kids because that's exactly the way they are treated. Mystic presented itself as a five-star facility in both appearance and their actions. This is the reason I specifically chose them to take care of my dog, Chance, while I was away for a week on a scheduled trip out of state. Well as things often happen at the most inopportune time, the camper I was towing broke a leaf spring leaving me stranded three states away from home. After finding a heavy-duty towing service and arranging the repairs, it was time to call Mystic and notify them I would need them to keep my Chance a few more days. Devastated that I wouldn't be able to pick her up as scheduled and knowing that it would be a few more days before seeing her, the next thing to happen simply took my breath away. When I called Mystic Pet Spa and Resort, they informed me that they were booked up and would not be able to keep Chance even one day longer. They also told me if I couldn't pick her up on time they were going to call the animal shelter and report her as an abandoned pet! And this is who I entrusted to take care of my Chance! I cannot even describe the feelings of frustration, abandonment, and betrayal they have caused. To make matters even worse, Mystic also informed me that they would not take my credit or debit card as payment over the phone even if I could arrange someone to pick her up. In addition to dealing with my travel difficulties, I have had to Money Gram funds to a friend who agreed to pick up Chance for me. After speaking to a kennel owner near Front Royal and explaining my situation, she told me she did not have any more room at her boarding facility, but would drive to Luray, pick up Chance, and keep her in her own home until we were able to get home in a few days! Score / Mystic = 0, Cavalier Kennels = 100. While many boarding facilities may look good on the outside and even on the inside, be very careful who you trust to take care of your children. That is unless you simply have pets. In which case, I guess it wouldn't matter much anyway. read more

The folks at Mystic Pet are the best! I travel on an erratic schedule sometimes & always work to accommodate my pet. Lena, Gareth and staff are wonderful. read more

We love this place! Our dogs usually hate going to the kennel, but after staying at Mystic a few times it is a much less stressful event! They also run a small farm and the pastured eggs are the best I've ever had. Their forest raised pork and grass-fed beef is so good we fill our freezer whenever it is available! read more

We use Mystic when we're planning all day hiking or climbing trips now that our pup is getting too old to tag along. I've always been happy with the way they treat my dog, and the prices are very cheap compared to what I'm used to! I wish we had a place like Mystic in Pittsburgh. read more

Outstanding place to leave your pets. The owners are friendly and knowledgeable and our pup is well cared for - either when left for a day play date or for a week. He loves going there! As for their hours, their sign clearly states their limited opening time on Sundays. We find their hours very accommodating! read more

We brought our dog unexpectedly to Mystic while on vacation. They very kindly made room for her, and I was able to tour Luray Caverns, a chance I won't have again because of age and health. I was very grateful for this. The facility is spotless, and surrounding area beautiful. They could have easily charged twice as much and been within reason. read more

The guy owner was very unfriendly and unhelpful. We were not told there would be additional charges for picking up our dog during the 6-7 pm pickup time versus the 10-11 am one. When traveling these strict pick up hours are not very accommodating. Unfortunately we will not be leaving our dog here when we visit the Lurray area. read more

Fantastic place! The kids came home happy and well adjusted; groomed and smelling good! And the pick up and drop off hours work for us. Our boys will be back! read more

Horrible Experience.....owner (male) refused to offer service even though the shop was open...then physically STRUCK his customer repeatedly in the head. If this is how these people treat human....imagine how they treat your pets read more

Last visit was not a good experience. Rover's grooming was incomplete and almost twice as expensive as it has been in the past. Owner did not appear interested in what my dog needed... picked up the dog and took him into the other room as I was in the middle of explaining what was needed. She asked no questions, so I thought she understood. Apparently not, because I paid for a job half done. read more

Excellent experience with Mystic Pet Resort & Spa from the first phone call all the way through to pick up. This was our first time visiting Luray from Delaware and using Mystic Pet. They were extremely friendly, informative and accommodating and their prices are very reasonable. They gave us a tour as soon as we arrived and really listened to our concerns with our dog who isn't extremely friendly to other dogs and they confidently assured us they would be mindful of that, which they most definitely were. They allowed us to call and check on him and told us if we wanted, we could come by and walk him. We didn't do that because we were worried he would think we were going to take him home if we did but it was nice of them to offer that. We are very happy with Mystic Pet Resort and Spa and will definitely use them again when we come back to visit. read more

I plan my weekend trips to my friends and family in Luray around my dogs' grooming needs - just so I can take them to see Lena at Mystic Pet. Both of my small breed dogs can be nervous around strangers and weird situations, but the groomers here take their time with the grooming and take breaks if the dog needs it. I am always happy with the results here. If you are in Page County, this is the place to go. If you aren't, it is worth the trip I make every few months from Baltimore. Very reasonable prices. read more

Our two have been going to Mystic Pet for almost ten years! We love it! They always come back looking and smelling so good...although our pups aren't allowed to stay overnight because they don't have the flu shot (they're too old for that...) we still love the grooming service. Zoro F--the rates have only gone up slightly since last year, my dogs go there every month. When was the last time Rover had a visit? and did you discuss the incomplete service with Lena? Your experience doesn't even sound like the Mystic Pet Resort I'm accustomed to! read more

We had to bring our pups with us for a wedding weekend after Hurricane Matthew forced an evacuation and made it impossible for our typical dog sitter to watch them. I was nervous as neither of our dogs had ever been boarded before, however, we all had a great experience! I would HIGHLY recommend Mystic Pet Resort! You could tell that our dogs were well loved. They have plenty of room for your pets and make you, the pet owner, feel very comfortable when you drop your pets off. When we picked up our dogs, it was apparent that they had spent a lot of time with our dogs because they told us all about them and how they did (and the comments were very typical behavior from both of our dogs!). Our pups were happy and slept the entire drive home. They weren't extra needy or unhappy, like they sometimes are if our dog sitter isn't around much while we're gone. For the price, you really can't beat it. If you're in Luray, plan on leaving your pets at Mystic Pet Resort! read more
