Did a little research, and sure enough, since 2022 it has been part of the PetVets network, owned by the private equity firm KKR. These equity companies are not in the veterinary biz, they are in the profit maximization biz. The service provided is secondary to them. No disrespect to the fine vets who work there, but I just can't afford the bills anymore. Even routine visits produce budget busting tabs, and I'm not a poor person. 2 motion sickness tablets? $52. That's not a typo. My advice? Go to privateequityvet.org to find vet owned clinics that have more leeway on prices.

We had a lot of interactions with the School of Vet Medicine at VA Tech and were referred to RAH. Dr. Odom has been wonderful with our two puppies. They love the attention they receive from the staff. They listen to our concerns and are great communicators. They are currently doing Curbside Service. They come out and pick up your pet for their exam. Once in the room the Dr. calls and goes over the exam. Payment is taken over the phone. During an appointment this week the temps outside were 95+. The clinic brought waters to the customers in their cars. It included information such as WiFi password to help pass the time. I thought it was a great gesture. If you are looking for a vet on the north side of Charlottesville or Ruckersville, RAH should be considered.

She is available for tours only on Saturdays...when she decides to work. And she is never at the location so I'm not sure who is actually caring for the dogs that people have entrusted to their care. When you call she is either rude or wishy washy. This woman has no business running a "professional" business or caring for ANY other living being. I appreciate that because we didn't all study to be incredible dog doctors, and sometimes it is hard to understand medical terminology and treatment information. We became a regular patient for a few months. I would call frequently to ask for help or advice on what we should do. Every single person there was just amazing. They listened, and cared deeply. They did their best to help financially and did absolutely everything in their power to treat our kitty. Tragically, we had to make the decision to put our baby down. We did, they saw my dog and gave us an ear solution to pour in and massage his ear and then he'd shake his head and try to shake it out after we were done. We did this with him time to time and eventually he healed up and was all good again. Vet said some dogs are just more sensitive to something's than others. What the vet prescribed for my dog worked after doing what they suggested. Good veterinary place. Thank you so much.
