They reopened after moving locations and everything is pricier and tbh the check out experience was unpleasant

BEWARE - of shopping for clothing here. You may find something you like at a reasonable price... BUT ... there is no place to try it on (common these days unfortunately) AND if you get it home and find it does not fit properly? Too ******* bad - No refunds, no exchanges, no returns, no store credit. I can buy into either ONE of the policies - no trying on, or no returns/exchanges. But not BOTH. Anytime you buy an article of clothing at this place you risk wasting your money. Oh sure, something you can try on over your clothing, give it a shot - a jacket, a sweater. Or even something that is very "forgiving" like sweats, or t-shirts. On Saturday, I found a few pairs of pants I was interested in, asked a clerk where I could try them on, and was given the standard response. I asked what people do about that, she softly recommended I go to a back corner "by the tools" and quickly/surreptitiously try them on. Fortunately, under my jeans, I was wearing not underwear, but a pair of shorts. Ones that are not "risque`" at all - less so than say gym shorts, or swimsuit, or even bike shorts. Even more fortunately, I found a rolling screen that I wheeled over to said corner to be even more discreet. Got one of the pairs on, and as I was about to try another when a very polite staffer came and stopped me, telling me that some vague "they" said it was making "them" "uncomfortable." Really?? Bike shorts - "Uncomfortable"? What's UNCOMFORTABLE is wondering if I am throwing money away buying something that wont fit and cant be returned or exchanged. It's so expensive!!!!! It's big bright and clean, I'll give them that. Lots of selection and organized by department. The staff is hit or miss but I guess to be expected for the environment? I greeted the person working with a smile "hello how are you" before asking a question about something in the jewelry case and she didn't respond and turned around lol read more

MyUnique Watchung - Lol really!? - Thrift Stores Near Me - Watchung, New Jersey

My first time shopping at a MyUnique thrift shop. Every time I come this way, the parking lot is always full so I was curious. So much larger than the places I go to so I was here for a good while. They had everything from workout gear to wigs, from pants to pans, from designer items to DVDs. That being said, everything was as neat as could possibly be and the workers were extremely attentive and helpful. I saw a lot of Walmart brands at Walmart prices BUT they DO offer a discount on the marked prices so I give them grace. There were higher end brands and I had my eye on but it's so hard when there's no fitting room. You just have to know your sizes in certain brands and just go for it. No returns and no exchanges. It's not the thrift shops I'm used to. Nonetheless, I found 3 nice work shirts and a hard-to-find DVD title that doesn't stream anywhere nor do they have it my library so I was happy about that. read more

Come here for good deals, especially when there is an extra percentage off certain color tags. Some items you'll find with the tag still on, some are out of style and older. Lots of clothing. Decent amount of bags. Also a great place to find books, decor, and a small furniture section. read more

Stopped in today and a cow hide rug caught my eye. It was approximately 7ft x 6 ft, good condition. It was $299.99. I walked to the back area where their donated merchandise is processed to inquire if the ticketed price was correct. The first gentleman I spoke with referred me to another gentleman, said he handled the pricing. The gentleman walked to the rug in question and I asked if the price was correct? He stated without hesitation that it was. I stated that I bought a cow hide rug a few months earlier from another retailer, brand new and the retail price was $300. This rug was not new, not in any packaging and was donated to the store for free. (All donations made to the store are free.) Why was it being sold for $300? He said ask the manager and walked away. I can respect Capitalism but this was GREED, used- car- salesman vibes on FULL display! read more

Prices are like in the store. Is a thrift store not a regular store. You could fine good stuff but some of the prices are the same price in Amazon. I believe everything in the store are donation so price the item accordingly. Used perfumes not even full for 100 dollars. They are crazy. read more

It's a shame how high their prices have gone. I used to be able to go in with $20 and walk out with a bunch of items and now they price single tops as high as that! The idea of shopping secondhand is supposed to feel good. A combination of saving money as well as saving clothes/household goods from going to landfills... but now when you walk in you quickly realize you might as well just go to the retail store and get it new for less. read more

I loved shopping at the old location in Watchung. My sister and I were so excited when we found out they moved to a new location. We went on Saturday 3/30/24. We enjoyed our shopping experience and found some fabulous finds. Our shopping experience turned sour when we were checking out. Most of the registers are self checkout. As we were scanning our purchases a woman stood behind us the entire time watching everything we scanned. She didn't do that with anyone else. Her eyes were directly on us the entire time we were at the register. She was so close that when I turned around to look at her I could reach out and touch her. Directly behind us. Didn't move. We're African American. There were several white customers checking out next to us on both sides and she never flinched or proceeded to stand behind them. I watched her behavior. I scanned an item and wasn't sure if it registered, so I asked her to check. It wasn't scanned, so I rescanned it and one other item wasn't registering after I scanned it several times. So she asked if I needed help, so I told her to scan it. We're very honest and proved so. That wasn't enough to convince her to step away and stop harassing us. It was very uncomfortable, annoying and disrespectful. We had two baskets of merchandise and as we were ringing the merchandise and emptying the baskets, they swooped in and grabbed them. Can you wait until we're done and we'll gladly return them to where they belong? We're not going to walk off with them and steal them. We felt like they were breathing down our necks. One of my items had a sensor, so I asked her to remove it after I scanned it. She handed it to another employee and continued to watch us as if she was afraid to leave us alone. After we finished paying, we proceeded to walk out and I heard them calling us to come back in. This woman walks over and asks for our receipt and checks it. The alarm did go off, but after we heard them calling us to come back. I gave my bag to her and she gave it back. I told my sister to walk through the system again to see what went off. It was the CD's and she said it was fine. Why are you checking our receipt when we were stalked the entire time we checked out? We will NEVER shop at this location again. This never happened at the old location. These women were Hispanic, which is even more upsetting because they are minorities as well and should know better. read more
