As I was exploring some cities along the Rhein I found myself craving a really good cup of coffee at a really good coffee shop. I'm talking a third wave, artisanal, single-origin, bordering on pretentious, independent coffee shop. Yelp led me to Cafe Bretelles and I was not disappointed! Don't be turned off by what looks like a tiny coffee shop- there's a second level with more seating if the outdoor seats and first level are full. Just place your order at the counter and take a table number. We got an oat milk cappuccino (1 shot of espresso and steamed milk), an oat milk flat white (2 shots espresso and steamed milk), a hot chocolate, and a shot of espresso. The espresso-based drinks were just what I was after. They were rich, bold, and creamy. The hot chocolate was more like warm than hot, but packed on the flavor. Overall, this is a spot I'd frequent for if I was in Strasbourg more often. For now, it'll be a fond memory of a perfect cup of coffee in a sea of underwhelming hotel coffee.

Finally found it and was underwhelming. It was a micro place with seating for 6 people, one seat available and I sat there while my wife ordered. We were told we could not be served, we asked if we could wait inside and rudely told we have to wait outside in the cold. Don't come here there are plenty of bakeries that serve cappuccinos. I am writing his review while siting inside Secret De Table with plenty of seating where it is warm and drinking a great cappuccino.

While a bustling shop near the entrance to the village offered a convenient location, we wanted a relaxed atmosphere to visit and enjoy our drink. Just a few turns away and in the heart of Kaysersberg, we found La Table du patissier. Located on a street corner but still feeling intimate, La Table du patissier fit exactly what we needed. We walked in, said that we were interested in some coffee, and were immediately led to a table by a friendly and chic employee. The restaurant was quiet (we were the only ones there at the time!), and she quickly prepared our cups of coffee while also preparing the place for later meals. The decor was elegant, with neutral walls, modern photos decorating them, and a streamlined look to the tables, including the table setting and furniture. There was pleasant, quiet music playing in the background that added to the inviting ambiance. We happily sipped on our coffee and enjoyed the break in the day. When we finished up, we paid at the register before heading out to continue exploring Kaysersberg, this time with a little caffeine pep in our step.
