Initially, we were optimistic about working with SLH Weddings & Events, given the positive first month of collaboration for my destination wedding on 9/1/2023. As an experienced Event Producer with over 10 years of industry knowledge, I am compelled to express my dissatisfaction with the services provided by Sweet Like Honey Weddings and Events. As we delved into the intricacies of wedding planning, it became apparent that SLH Weddings & Events lacked the necessary experience and expertise. As an event planner I did the venue search myself and as a new planner we introduced her to new hotels and got her on two hotel preferred vendor lists. The shortcomings included the inability to handle fundamental tasks such as contract review, vendor negotiations, budget creation, and event design. These lapses in event planning basics, including misquoting vendor estimates and errors in the wedding budget, raised serious concerns about the competence of SLH Weddings & Events. In addition, she said to feel free to email or text for communication at any time. We received two emails and calls from her reprimanding us about emailing and texting her. We both work in corporate America, where you can respond and text back at the best time that is convenient for herself. Furthermore, the level of customer service provided by SLH Weddings & Events was disappointing. Communication was consistently subpar, with frequent reminders needed for essential tasks. The disparity between promised commitments and actual follow-through was a recurring issue. Regrettably, the situation reached its peak when a disrespectful email was received from Maurisa, prompting a contract cancellation by SLH Weddings & Events just 2 months into planning (out of the 2 months 1 week she was unresponsive without notice and for 3 weeks she was out office for an elective surgery) and a week before our scheduled second site visit and menu tasting. This abrupt termination left us in a difficult position, having to scramble to find a replacement wedding planner and manage the coordination of vendors ourselves. Of great concern was Sweet Like Honey Weddings and Events's failure to return our large pre-paid payment when she performed minimal wedding planner duties. The overall experience was marred by verbal abuse, inconsistent behavior, and unnecessary stress, compromising the joy we anticipated for our wedding day. It seems like she's only done small weddings but portrayed as if she could plan larger scale weddings. We believe she was in over her head and didn't want to admit it. I strongly advise against engaging SLH Weddings & Events for any event planning services. It is my sincere recommendation that individuals seek out a more reliable and experienced planner to ensure a positive wedding day and planning experience. I am willing to provide evidence and receipts to support the claims of SLH Weddings & Events's erratic behavior.If you still wish to proceed forward, here's legal advice we received: Document Everything: Keep records of all communications, contracts, and financial transactions related to your engagement with SLH Weddings & Events. These documents will serve as valuable evidence if needed. Review Contract Terms: Examine the terms of your contract with SLH Wedding, paying special attention to cancellation policies, refund procedures, and any clauses related to service quality.The wedding contract is not a consumer friendly service contract and written very one sided, particularly as far as cancellation goes. There are no provisions that protect the purchaser. For ex. If you don't pay on time (even one day late), she can pull the amount from your account and you can't dispute it with your credit card company. That irrevocable use of the credit card provision is dangerous. The repercussions of Maurisa's incompetence, from contract misinterpretations to delayed invitations, have had a significant impact on the overall planning process and our peace of mind. I hope that by sharing this experience, others can make informed decisions when selecting a wedding planner.

Ajani, the wedding officiant and Sophorn, the photographer were both warm, responsive, kind and just lovely humans to be around for our small elopement on the beach. We arranged the entire elopement in a week without fuss or stress. I wanted flowers and my partner wanted a ukulele player, those were the only things we wanted to add to the Pearls packaged offered by Infinite Bliss; Ajani and Sophorn gave us some local Kona-area recommendations that worked out perfectly to meet our needs and support local artists. The Ceremony: We were married on a beautiful beach that Ajani recommended and had an intimate ceremony with just us. The ceremony incorporated some of the beautiful Hawaiian language and culture without feeling like cultural appropriation and Ajani gave us a moment during the ceremony to talk to each other without any pressure of written vows. His words were personal, inspiring, hopeful and brought in a spirit of joy and love. Ajani consulted with us during planning by phone (not just email); he reached out and we were able to chat with him about what we were looking for so he could personalize our ceremony. His words on the beach, in the moment were touching, spiritual and personal - exactly what we had hoped. The Photography: Because our family couldn't be there, we wanted to pay for a photographer for our tiny ceremony; Sophorn did a wonderful job capturing the quite moments as well as the ceremony and beauty of the atmosphere. We were hard to photograph; neither of us is photogenic and we were both nervous. Somehow Sophorn captured photos of when we were most relaxed and being ourselves. She used the environment and beauty of the beach, sunset, lava, trees and ocean around us and made us feel comfortable while trying to help us relax. The package: We purchased the Pearls package with a ceremony, photographer, photo access, leis and personalized certificate and photo slide show. We had our first batch of photos and the slideshow within a few weeks of our ceremony, but Sophorn gave us two beautiful pictures to share with family within a week so we could share with family right away. We are still waiting for the full gallery of photos with more candid shots (also part of the package). They are taking a bit longer than I would have liked, but I am not concerned. Sophorn kindly shared the best photos with us in a timely way, so that we could bring our family into the moment. The slideshow she created was true to the feel of our wedding and the feel of Hawaii. Infinite Bliss Weddings is reasonably priced and though they are a small operation, they have everything you will need for a quiet and beautiful wedding on the Big Island.
