Located on…read morecampus in the newly renovated Koki'o 202, the stem center is a sanctuary for students who are working toward, science, technology, engineering, and math related majors. The stem center is open Monday through Thursday: 8:30 a.m. - 9:00 p.m. Friday: 830 a.m. - 3:00 p.m and Sunday: 12:00 noon - 9:00 p.m. The stem center offers a peer mentoring program for anyone who is interested in improving their academic skills, and emphasize a focus on math, biology, physics and chemistry. RESOURCES: The stem center is pretty spacious, and there is plenty of desk space on each of the tables. The stem center has computers available for student use at each of the tables, as well as a small collection of science and math literature, some of which is the same material used in the courses used at KCC. PEER MENTORS: Many of the peer mentors at KCC have already taken the courses they tutor in, and are very knowledgeable in the subject matters. Aside from having an extensive knowledge in their subject, many of them are majoring in the area they are tutoring, so they not only teach at the level required for the basic KCC student but also have done further research in upper level courses. If the peer mentors aren't able to convey the subject matter well enough. Many of the instructor offices are located in the stem center so they're also available to aid.

Purpose: Anybody doing testing for HPD this is the location to go to, NOT the actual station located on King St. Notes: 1) Spent less than an hour here to complete testing (on a first come first serve basis), 2) No phones or electronics allowed within testing rooms, 3) customer service reps there are SO nice. The building is a little confusing if you're using GPS, but once you find it, I suggest you find street parking. I parked in the wrong place, and it wasn't good. Bring quarters, and park along King Street (unless it's tow away time, then don't!). The Career Center is found by going up the elevator to the fifth floor, then turning left. There is a large wooden door that stays open during business hours. My sons have been doing Kumon - Reading with this center for a few weeks now and it's been a good…read moreexperience. They come twice a week and it's always pretty busy when we come, with a lot of other students enrolled. A tutor will sit with my Kindergarten age son because he can't yet work independently. My 2nd grade son is able to work mostly independently and a tutor will check on him. There's a cute little playground here that my sons like playing on afterwards. There's plenty of seating for parents who are waiting but you are also able to wait in your car if you like. I haven't had any issue with finding a parking space here either even though the parking lot is small. Ms Stacy is very responsive to emails and calls. You can set up a direct ACH from your bank account for the monthly payment. The time commitment is between 15-30 mins per day per child and per subject. Sometimes my sons do complain about having to do their Kumon but I think persistence and consistency is key I already see improvements in my Kindergartner and I think this is going to help him be reading a lot faster than if I relied only on his teacher at school to help him, plus I don't feel super confident in my ability to help him learn to read... this is more structured and easy to follow.
