They were contracted to pack and ship for our overseas move. Only 2 people showed up, and I was concerned as it was a lot for 2 people to handle. I think there was some hesitation and they had to make some phone calls since it was more house than they expected, but they took care of everything. I think it was a lady, who's been there for years and a younger gentleman who packed everything. The people who came after them the next day and packed were efficient but after they had left, I noticed they missed a few things. They actually drove back using their personal vehicle, close to an hour, and picked up the items they missed. When we got to our destination overseas, only 1 or 2 things were probably damaged and this is probably how it was packed in the wooden crate. Like a wooden chair and a gash in a table. Yet, we were re-reimbursed by a different company and I'm not 100% sure they even handled the crating process. We were also missing our parts box. But I heard that happens with overseas moves, so we'll know for next time, to carry that on us. But, nothing high dollar value such as electronics or jewelry or purses was missing, damaged or lost. After my mother passed, I stored items with this company. When I was ready to move, I called and spoke to Mark (said he was the boss), who told me that I just send my movers to them and they can pick my items up. No other requirements were given. I have now called to give notice my movers will be coming on Saturday, and I have been told I may not pick up my things. The woman on the phone said this is due to them being closed on Saturday (their hours on Google have them open on Saturday). The woman I spoke to called me rude multiple times, said "I don't know you and I'm just trying to get rid of you". She changed her mind and said they could leave my stuff out on a dock for $45. When I asked what I would be paying $45 dollars for, I was told I was being rude by inquiring what a company is billing me for and she refused to tell me anymore. I was not allowed to speak to her superior, and then she hung up on me. I've stored my mother's belongings there for 10 months. I am trying to pick them up, with 24hours notice, during their business hours, and they refuse to give me access to my belongings. Whatever you do, DO NOT USE THIS BUSINESS! read more

There were 2 folks moving me and was careful with my items and better yet they were careful not to damage any of the walls, floors and banisters in the house. I highly recommend this company, especially having them pack for you. They were on time and labeled/packed all the boxes. It was a full truckload and it took them an hour and a half to do it. They used blankets to wrap the furniture, instead of using the plastic wraps most other companies have used in the past. I wasn't able to be there in person that day but they made it super easy for my fiance. When they delivered everything they put our boxes in the rooms that corresponded with the labels on the boxes, which made it to where we just had to unpack room by room. Nothing was broken or misplaced. They handled everything with care and overall they were amazing and I would use them again in the future. read more

I hired this company and have no complaints with the manpower who did the work. In fact, I want to praise them: they were courteous, professional, efficient, and solicitous to my moving needs. Our recent interstate move with NL Wilson was highly disappointing, and I hope this review helps others choose a trustworthy company for their move. NL Wilson was responsible for packing, and Wheaton Worldwide Travel moved us. We paid over 15K for the move, which included packing services. Our Keller Williams realtors recommended NL Wilson. We have used Keller Williams for all our property buying and selling needs over the last 15 years. Pros: The local movers in Arizona were very professional and could move all our furniture and electronics with great care. They took their time unpacking the boxes and equipment and were very careful. Despite the sweltering 100+ degree heat, they did a great job moving all the large and small boxes in the house. Though there was a 24-hour delay in delivery that they did not inform us about until the evening before, it wasn't a major issue since we were not going to start work right away. We took care of the movers, providing them with a good lunch, plenty of water, and rest. Cons: Sadly, the packing team in Kansas City lacked integrity. While we could have used other movers recommended by our company, we chose NL Wilson based on strong recommendations from our Keller Williams agents, who assured us that they would handle any issues occurring during the move promptly. Several items went missing, but a bag costing over 5K never arrived. Our relator and I contacted NL Wilson within 5 days of the move, but we kept getting a run around from them. Initially, they asked us to send pictures, and then they told us that they were discussing amongst the owners what to do about it; a month later, they asked us to fill out a claims form. When we fill the claims form, Wheaton World Wide Travel informed us that since we did not fill this in within 5 days, they wouldn't entertain our concerns; when we told them that it was within 5 days, then they tried to accuse our agent of possibly being responsible for the absent items who was present at the site during the move. Then they claimed that since we did not inform them about tampered boxes, they were not responsible for the missing items. The NL Wilson sent a couple of ladies to pack personal items; they are not interrogated in any way, but they again tried to blame it on the agents present there for the stolen items. To date, they have told us that they will contact us back. Still, all I have heard from the owner is that his brother owns the company, so he will need to talk to him first (it has been 4 months now) and then some representative from their company contacted us briefly and said they would circle back with us and no one has done that so far. While we take responsibility for leaving high-dollar items and trusting a packing company with those ( you live and learn), the fact that they are still giving us the runaround and shifting the blame on the realtor who recommended them is so unprofessional and disappointing. We still have a strong community that we are still connected to in Kansas City, and based on our experience, we absolutely cannot recommend NL Wilson for moving and packing needs. Many other reputable companies are available, and in hindsight, we wish we had chosen based on other recommendations. If the move goes well, it is fine, but do not expect a favorable response from the company's behalf; as you can see in other reviews, if something happened to the items during the move from the company, that lacks integrity. read more

This is our second move with NL Wilson, most recently 2 weeks ago. Jordan and the crew were on time, hard working and careful with our belongings. They had to deal with a curved staircase, steep driveway and then a small elevator to the top floor. It was an all day move for all of us and they remained pleasant and respectful. You better hope they don't break any of your items. I had a move a month ago where the mover broke my TV before leaving the first residence. The mover advised he would let the owner know when he got back and they would call me to file a claim. No one ever called, when I called she immediately jumped to telling me it would not be covered if it was mechanical failure. I advised that was not the case, the movers shattered my TV. She then sent me the claim form. I have now sent over 15 emails to the owners and office staff, and called at least 10 times. It is a month later and every time they say they will call or contact me back they don't. I would give 0 stars if possibles. The three ladies that packed our house, especially Holly and Caitlin were amazing, after that everything went severely downhill. The loading team was supposed to arrive between 9-10 and ended up showing up around 1. There were soooo many loaders that communication and paperwork became horrendous. Our household goods became split between two trucks. We received half our household goods weeks later (on the last contacted date possible per the military). The rests of our household goods remain in a warehouse in Kansas City weeks later. They keep referring to it as "overflow" but those half our goods including a lot of our furniture, including our child's dresser and bed. The disorganization and illiteracy on the moving inventory was so horrendously awful that it was almost impossible to decipher what we had received and not received. As members of the military community, this is undoubtedly the worst move we've ever had. The most unorganized move ever. I would never, ever recommend this company and our critiques will be forwarded to the Air Force TMO. As of this date, we still don't have an estimated date for the other half of our goods. read more

This company moved my grandparents into a newly built house. When they moved they put holes in the walls and they scratched the walls and scraped the wood flooring and hand railing. They didn't say anything about it, also they started to put the table together for my grandparents and they didn't even put the bolts or screws in it. When they unloaded they weren't listening on where to go to place the boxes and furniture, they just took it in and set it where ever they liked. They put the light boxes on the bottom of the truck when they loaded it and they smashed countless glass items they have been handed down in the family that are priceless. We got all the paperwork to report what was broken and damaged and the owner isn't doing anything about it to pay for all of the damage. read more

The movers were very nice, however, they damaged some of our items: A formal dining room table, large cherry credenza, front loader washer, along with a few other minor damages. I have filed a complaint with the BBB, and tried to work with Mark Drier, President, to reimburse me for the damages. He refuses to answer my emails, or phone calls. This has gone on for over a year. Don't do business with them! I have since talked to other people, including a furniture repair person, who say they are also owed money by NL Wilson. Our local, Kansas City area affiliate was super accommodating and friendly. The first red flag should have been that the representative did not return our phone calls as the move date approached and we had already signed a contract. On move day: Showed up late. The movers were impatient, very hurried and brusk. Reason for most of the damage; almost none of the pieces were blanket wrapped or otherwise covered. They carried everything down a flight of stairs (unprotected) and placed items out on the driveway before loading in the truck. Our neighbor told us that the movers dropped outdoor furniture off the roof-top deck, we guess so they wouldn't have to carry it down the stairs! We were given an arrival date in California. No show. When called, the dispatcher was extremely rude and stated that: "I don't know if the truck broke down or the driver had a break down." (You can't make this up!) The unloading was a bit better in that the California movers were more professional and careful. But, rushed and the head driver wanted us to sign all the paperwork very quickly, before the furniture was even in the house. (Beware, do not sign anything until you have examined every piece of furniture and box even if the mover demands it.) We had purchased extra insurance through Stevens, (at a very high rate.) Our claims for damage were met with: - Delay, delay, delay. - They claimed that our furniture had been previously damaged which is not true. - Stated on several pieces that damages were minimal and would not affect the use. (Broken chair or sofa back, missing legs and deep gouges are not minimal!) - For pieces that they would acknowledge had been damaged by their negligence, extremely low reimbursement was offered. So I have to give them a star. Is there a half. Terrible experience. Bid came in way higher than I expected. To late for me to look for another. No questions answered before moving day. No one in charge on moving day. Six men coming and going and no one telling me anything unless I asked. You would have thought I wasn't there. Refrigerator, washer and dryer loaded almost last on the second truck. I say almost because no one questioned taking anything out of the garage. First truck was unloaded first because it arrived at new place first. Therefore the refrigerator didn't get unloaded for quite a while. Of course everything I took out of it and put in coolers was left to warm up. Boxes brought in before furniture. They tell me, "you just have so many boxes." Then after putting the boxes in the garage so they could bring in the furniture they were going to leave every box in the garage, bringing in none. Two floor lamps had their bases broken because they were just tossed into the truck at the last minute. And, I gave one of the guys my lawn mower, then found out they took it but left the snow blower that was sitting right next to the mower. Worst of all is the pool table. They were paid to take it apart and put it back together. Arriving at the new home they realized they didn't have the puddy they needed. So their boss finally showed up late in the move and filled the holes. He tells me he has to come back the next day because it needs to dry. The next morning his boss ask me if it is OK to wait a few days before they had time to come back. I said sure. It took nearly 4 weeks to come back. In the meantime they had been paid, less 10% that was taken off because I was so mad. NO ONE RETURNS calls. I have filed with the BBB, and asked for a partial refund. DO NOT USE NL WILSON MOVING CO. I have never been so disappointed in a company that I had fully endorsed to many that were in need of movers. I have used this company both in a professional manner and in personal moves, I will never use them again and advise all not to in the future. My brother and I lost our father in early May and had to get my mom moved into a new place the first of July. I immediately called NL Moving to set up 2 moves - the first was moving items from my parents' home to my house in mid-June - it was great! The 2 movers made things so easy and professional!! The 2nd move was done on Monday, July 6. We had everything set in certain spots as to what was to be moved to my Mother's new place. In addition, we had things set out that were going into an ongoing online estate sale. On Sunday July 5 the estate team was finalizing the inventory numbers and details - so I had an exact count on every item in the sale and house. The move went smoothly, and I was quite pleased - the only people in the house on the move date and were my brother, nephew and my mom in addition to the 2 movers. Once they had loaded up the house was locked and alarm set. On Wednesday July 8 I received a call from the estate team that 12 pieces of my mother's sterling silver was missing. After going through each person that had been in the house the only 2 unaccounted for were the 2 movers. I immediately called NL Wilson to log my concern, complaint about the missing items. I spoke with the Office Manager who was less than helpful - but she took the information and let me know she or someone would be back in touch the next day. No call on that Thursday so on that Friday I called the office again to get a bit of the run around - asked for one of the owners to call me. A did receive a call from Chris, who told me he just didn't believe anyone of his crew would do something like this, but he would look into and talk with one of his brothers - the other owner. Then told me that I should really look around again because I or one of my family members probably put it into a drawer. I waited and again no call. The next week I called again to talk with the other brother who was not aware of this situation at all so once again I told my story and explaining again I hated to think that one of the crew did this but after deductions and well I was left with the moving crew - the brother gave me the run around again and had to speak with the other brother. Again a few days go by and no call - no point in trying to help rectify the situation. So, I again called and now spoke to the 3rd brother Mark, he and I had a decent conversation and he told me he would be back in touch. Guess what no call again, so on the 16th of July I called again and since they couldn't come up with an answer on how to compensate me or even come up with an explanation I said ok - split the cost of the move and refund me that amount. I thought we had made leeway - but a week later still no reimbursement check. I called again - left messages - finally after literally calling and leaving messages I kept calling finally getting Mark on the phone who assured me he sent a check - but was hinting that it was my fault somehow that I have not received the reimbursement. But he said he would issue another check, I asked for him to send me a picture of the new check and envelope, so I knew that it had been issued. No such thing happened. On Monday July 27th I called again to inquiry about my reimbursement and guess what I had to leave a message and no call back - today July 28 still nothing from this company. So, since they keep lying to me about issuing a reimbursement it only solidifies my case that someone from their company stole the items - why keep lying to me? I guess legal action is what they want. Or they quite frankly do not care about their reputation in the KC area - I will never ever trust or work with this organization again!! read more

The price was right, but in the end our experience was poor. There were damages and photos taken of some damage by the delivery crew. We were told we had "plenty of time after delivery to inspect everything" and make a consolidated claim if additional damages were found. There were more damages. Unfortunately when we did make that claim, Stevens Worldwide denied the claims "because there was nothing noted on the delivery paperwork/bill of lading." So the lesson here is don't listen to the "you have 6 months to make a claim reassurance." Instead examine and mark EVERYTHING that has any sort of damage on the bill of lading. You will be tired, and the delivery crew will be tired, but don't give in, examine everything despite how it may slow down the unloading process. They should have brought another pair of hands as the delivery went into the dark of night. I feel bad writing this, cause it will make a tough delivery job, even tougher and slower than it should be, but it needs to be said. Again, don't sign until you note damages because anything not noted at delivery will forever be your un-reimbursable souvenir of the moving adventure. Now that said, on a prior move, with different big national carrier, we had no problem submitting a claim for damages not noted on the bill of lading. So it's a Stevens Worldwide policy problem, but it's also associates like NL Wilson Moving & Storage that were responsible for the damage and the misleading reassurances on the claims process. What makes this even more frustrating is the fact that we paid more for insurance to be covered at the maximum level. That was money down the drain. read more

NL Wilson was hired to load an Old Dominion trailer, as I recently moved to Plano, TX. Upon arrival in Plano, there were numerous damages to my personal belongings. The company that I hired in Plano, Wildcat Movers, brought me into the trailer to view the damages. My desk has two large gashes in the wood, and part of the desk is broken. Also, there were damages to the foot board of my NEW bed frame. Sturdy Wardrobe Boxes were crushed -- as they placed an aprox. 60 lb coffee table on the boxes. I have over 30 photos of the damages. I contacted Mark at NL Wilson the day it occurred. He tried to blame Old Dominion not having air ride suspension. Air suspension has nothing to do with the poor loading job that they did. The suspension does not move coffee tables on top of wardrobe boxes. Mark said that he would submit my claim. The move occurred on September 3. Today is September 26. I have left four messages for Mark to follow up on the claim, and he will not return my calls. The least he can do is refund the $329.50 that I paid for the poor services rendered. read more

My wife and I have hired NL Wilson on four separate occasions. For some reason the two most recent times which were 3 years ago and last week, respectively, were dramatically poor experiences relative to what we have previously come to expect. Both of our last two moves were nearly twice as expensive as we were quoted! When the movers finally left, after squeezing every last penny out of us, we had a number of nuisances due to their shotty work - including missing HDMI cables and power cables to hook up our TVs and PCs, washer and dryer that required a professional handyman to hookup properly at yet an additional charge because they refused for liability reasons, etc. Expect to be fleeced if you use this moving company and for a mediocre job done based on the low standards they are providing today. read more

NL Wilson was contracted to move our personal belongings. The pick up was efficient and professional. However, NL Wilson failed to deliver our belongings on the agreed upon date, due to mechanical difficulties. During that time, communication was less than ideal. They failed to update us when they stated they would and many of our calls/emails went unanswered. They finally delivered our belongings 4-5 days later than the scheduled delivery date. They did not notify us of their plans until the morning of the delivery. Although they stated that they would be completing the delivery that afternoon, they failed to arrive until later that evening. Worst of all, one of the movers lifted an antique sideboard by a piece that was decorative, not structural, and broke it. NL Wilson has failed to take responsibility of the delayed delivery, poor communication, of damage to our personal belongings. This has resulted in a great deal of inconvenience and expense. Our attempts to resolve these issues have been met with extreme discourtesy and lack of professionalism. They have failed to send paperwork for proffered reimbursement of lodging and meals during the delay. They have refused to pay for repairs to the furniture that was damaged. Credit card information was required when the contract was signed and they paid themselves before completion of the job. Their response to our complaints is hardly worth mentioning. This is the BEST moving company period! Hands down the very best. I had an emergency last minute move which I didn't think was possible, but was. The home I moved from was over 4K sq feet and NOT a single thing was damaged or broken. Not even the house I moved from. At first two men showed up mid morning and within 2-3 hours (4) more team members came to help out. The entire staff was very professional. Each staff member works extremely hard and fast, but carefully which is crucial in this type of industry. I would've lost it if anything got broken and thankfully not a single thing was. We contracted with NL Wilson to load and store our furniture for approximately one week the end of May 2018. A representative walked through our home, assured us of "bubble wrap", furniture, walls, floors, stair banisters all would be protected, professional movers, and any damages would be immediately and fairly addressed. On loading day, a truck came with two movers and two trainees. It was hot, employees had no water, so we provided. About noon, the man in charge got in the tractor and drove off, never to return, leaving one man and two trainees to finish. We still had an organ, a refrigerator, washer, dryer, and lots of other items. The one "mover" really finished the job, with very little help from the trainees. He should be commended. No supervision with items going onto the truck; ran out of wrapping pads (there was no bubble wrap), some items were not covered, just stacked in the truck. Took much longer than contracted for and the truck filled up. Another small van was brought in to finish loading items. Our delivery date to our new home was June 8, 2018, we personally went to office to verify. Their records did not even have us on the schedule. We had received no response to the email sent after the loading experience. Oh, yes, a representative assured us the email had been received and they were reviewing it. In the email, we asked for a professional crew, all entries, floors, banisters to be covered and the company accommodated for the unloading. However, the damage had been done. We pointed out the damage, have sent pictures, have talked to a representative, but no one from NL Wilson has addressed the damage issue. And, at this point, we are not holding our breath. This was an excellent moving experience! We moved from Harrisonville, Mo to the Austin Tx area. I was oh so concerned about moving my baby grand and several fragile antique pieces. All arrived undamaged! Awful experience. Movers were hours late on both loading and delivery dates. Took days to schedule delivery of my stored items, no one would return calls, or would leave me on hold for 15 min+, until I had to hang up. Office staff was rude, tried to charge me $700 more than my "guaranteed" quote, including the extra week of storage when they wouldn't return calls to get my items out of storage. I had crushed boxes that were clearly marked glass, gouged-to-bare-wood furniture, damaged pastry display cases, lots of broken glassware, etc. Can get no response from the office, the damage department, or the owner.
