The space is filled with framed photos, leather goods, clothing, accessories and lots of wooden signs. We took our time looking at the items as there is so much to see. We purchased some gifts to take home to friends and some clothing items for ourselves. The owner was friendly and engaging, too. We will definitely include this store on future visits to Leavenworth!

We visit Leavenworth often, and we always visit Jones Gallery whenever we're in town. The owner, Jim, is often in the store. He shot most of the photos that are for sale. If he's not super busy, he's happy to spend time to give you the background, location, and other details about where and how he got his fabulous photos. He's also happy to sign prints that you buy, too. For example, my young son is a cat lover and he found a 16" print of a bobcat that he just had to buy with his saved allowance. Even though it was a fairly small purchase, the owner spent time to answer questions and gave my son all the details about the shot (southern Alberta, 600mm camera lens, etc). This kind of personal attention and service is rare nowadays. If you love nature photography, then I highly recommend you stop by Jones Gallery while you're in Leavenworth. They sell a lot of art work, all mounted on the walls, and "unique clothing" (what their business card says). Taste is so subjective, so I'm sure there are lots of folks who would love the art here, but it wasn't my style at all. There were some nice clothing pieces interspersed with the eclectic clothing that was over-the-top out-there (for me, anyhow). There also was a lot of jewelry, most likely made by local artisans. The upstairs level is comprised of a small loft-like space. Here there were the sale items. There were some super nice zip-up jackets and hoodie sweaters on a rack for over 75% off! A steal, for sure. Limited sizes and colors, but if you can find the right size for you, it'd be difficult to pass up these deals. One thing I wasn't crazy about: before heading upstairs to look at the wares on sale up there, the store owner or clerk downstairs insists you leave all bags downstairs on the small table or sofa at the base of the staircase. There are signs posted that read the same thing, too, about this policy. I was uncomfortable leaving all my day's purchases downstairs, unattended. Sure, the store owner was watching them, but what if other customers came into the store and his attention moved to them, to assist other folks? I didn't like that. I understand this policy, if there had been a problem with shoplifting here, but I didn't appreciate being treated like a potential thief, nor did I like leaving my bags downstairs unattended. I did a super-fast walk-through of the upstairs area and then made a hasty retreat. Another issue I wasn't crazy about. On their business card, under the owner's name, it reads: Controller - a.k.a. "Control Her". What the heck does this mean? "Control her"? Perhaps it's meant as a tongue-in-cheek reference, somehow, about controlling women, but I took a bit of umbrage with it. Strange, all around.
