I started with an order of the zurek, a sour white rye soup served with a grilled sausage, half a hard-boiled egg topped with horseradish, and slices of a seeded Polish bread, all arranged on a wooden board. But my favorite dish was the bigos, a traditional Polish stew made with sauerkraut cooked with sausage, pork ribs, forest mushroom, dried plums, and red wine. As a whole, the dish was nicely balanced in flavor with the savoriness of the meat and mushrooms, the sourness of the sauerkraut, and the slight sweetness of the dried plums. She did not apologize for this nor express any sympathy about those missing items. I called the manager over to tell her the same issue, but surprisingly, she didn't offer an apology or any corrective measures herself. She didn't even bother to check up on this, so I flatly told her that we are canceling those two dishes and not to bring them as we are leaving now. The waitress ran downstairs to tell the chef to stop the orders, but I didn't care at that point anymore whether they were actually ready or not. When we paid our bill, again, the waitress didn't even say Thank You or anything else. It seems that neither one seemed to care about what had happened. I know it was busy that night and things like this happens. However that's why people like me leave honest reviews for others to read before they go to any restaurant. Oh, we didn't bother leaving a tip as a result.
