Captain Aaron was the best. He had us cracking up from the moment he got there. I love that it's a family owned business. He had so many stories and jokes, played great music, he just kept us entertained the entire time. If you are looking for a smooth sail ride this is not it. But if you are looking for a fun action packed tour with alot of activity and laughs this is your place to be. First of all, the meeting spot is at Kikiaola Harbor. Heads up there's nothing around like stores or restaurants so just come prepared. There are restrooms though. There were a few rafts companies around so we saw that these ones were packed with people where they are sitting on the sides on the raft but Captain Aaron's set up is alot different. He has 6 comfortable seats and for me I would pay the extra amount to enjoy this excursion with more comfort and less people. This tour was so much fun, got to see the caves, take lots of photos, saw several dolphins. Great way to see and experience the Na Pali Coast. My wife & I were on a cruise & decide to join this adventure! It was a 40 min Lyft ride to the port to meet the Captain, but it was so worth it ! The zodiac was a wonderful experience & a perfect way to see the island. We had pods of spinner dolphins all around us. The Captain was excellent , the boat was great & the views were legendary. This was an amazing tour! These guys took us along the Na Pali coast to see all the gorgeous views as well as had amazing skills with boat handling and maneuvering through the waves and caves. We had a fantastic trip with our Captain on Na Pali Odyssey today. We saw a lot of sea life that included Spinner Dolphins as we headed up the Napali Coast. It was a fantastic day and it was the most comfortable ride we have ever taken up the Na Pali Coast. The cushioned seats with a 6 person maximum allowed for a phenomenal experience. My husband and I dislike large crowds and were casting about for a *small* charter while visiting Kauai with no luck until I happened to pick up This Week Kauai, a tourist brochure, and spotted a blurb for Na Pali Odyssey. When I read that the tour was limited to six passengers, I reserved a spot immediately. We were joined by another like-minded couple and set out with Capt Taylor. Best decision ever! What Capt Taylor doesn't know about the Na Pali Coast probably isn't worth knowing. He took us into magnificent lava tube/sea caves, one with a large noddy tern rookery, another with a waterfall that cascaded right through the cave roof. We got into a large pod of spinner dolphins and saw numerous females with adorable calves. We watched red-footed boobies and white-tailed tropicbirds feeding on a bait ball. Capt Taylor showed us wonder after wonder, stopping at will for us to soak up the beauty of the Na Pali Coast while answering our questions. It was the highlight of our visit. I'm sure he is a great tour guide...however getting ahold of him is impossible...one of our family members had to get an emergency surgery while on vacation it was the day before our tour I texted...which he read at 630am and never responded...I called and left a voicemail...when I tried calling back his phone said it was no longer accepting calls... I figured he was on a tour...called again same thing....texted no response...message on IG no response....emailed asking him what our options would be since refund policy "Customers will receive a full refund or credit with 48 hours notice of cancellation. Customers will also receive a full refund or credit in case of operator cancellation due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances. Contact us by phone to cancel or inquire about a cancellation". Since emergency surgery might fall into unforeseen circumstances we might be able to get our money back. He cancelled and responded to the email at 745pm we get 50% back- after all day trying to figure out how to do it and making some changes and finding out surgery went well and we didn't need to fly back home ASAP we decided we could go- I emailed him about 30 mins after and no response. His phone still says he is not accepting calls and have had no response. I'm sure the tour is great but business side was horrible. Still haven't heard back. read more

Just had the most amazing boat tour of the Napali Coast with Captain Aaron and Lanie. Definitely the highlight of our trip to Kauai. I've been on zodiac tours before and despite the rough conditions today it was the most comfortable ride with the cushy benches that also had drink holders. We saw several other tour groups setting off from the marina and on the water and many looked packed on the boats. We had so much space and everyone got a seat on the benches so that you didn't have to sit on the side of the boat holding onto a rope. Captain Aaron was knowledgeable , funny, played great music, and did an amazing job navigating the waves. We saw so many spinner dolphins and a couple of turtles, got to explore several caves, and got to snorkel. The views were incredible and I will recommend this to everyone I know who is planning a trip to Kauai. read more

Spent the weekend on Kaua'i for my birthday with some friends . The highlight of my trip was being able to see Nā Pali with this tour. Capt Aaron and Matt made the experience so fun & thrilling . They sang happy birthday to me in front of the coast , it was so special, such an unforgettable moment. First off, Aaron is the man! Had such an amazing time exploring the Na Pali Coast. We saw a ton of marine life including dolphins, and a large variety of fish. Captain Aaron is a wizard in maneuvering into the lovely caves that are scattered along the coast. It was nice being on such a small vessel as we were able to get extremely close to the rocks. A friend of mine had recommended Napali Odyssey to see the Napali coast since the hike has been closed. I'm extremely glad they did! I used to feel that excursions weren't worth it, but man all of us agreed that this was the highlight of our Hawaii trip (Kauai, Oahu, and Maui)! What really made it awesome was Caption Aaron. He's a great guy, very chill, and he made it an epic experience. He has so many years of experience he was able to navigate the waters amazingly and we had a great time in the sea caves. I didn't get sea sick but one of the girls did, so you could bring some meclizine to make sure you get to fully enjoy the whole trip in case. We passed some other boat tours that were packed with so many people, my group was so thankful we booked with Napali Odyssey instead. Don't take part in this, it's just a joke about taking life. There were no seat belts, only 2 life jackets, and the driver drove a very rudimentary rubber boat, driving wildly in the wind and waves. We sat in front and almost fell to the sea several times. We have repeatedly asked for a slowdown, and the driver is disregarding our feelings and was enjoying it much. read more

We've been to Kauai tons of times and always have a great trip. We wanted to try something we've never done before and my husband suggested NA PALI ODYSSEY. We had a huge group 3 families of 4 (middle and high school kids) one grandma, and a bonus kid. I get sea sick, so I was a little nervous (but I took a Dramamine and I was fine). I would say we were laughing and smiling for the whole trip! We saw turtles, whales, dolphins and the most amazing cliffs I've ever seen. My son said he thought the views were more spectacular than Yosemite. Captain Aaron and Matt were such a great crew! We loved the music, jokes, and the VERY talented navigation of the waves and caves! I would 100% say this is a MUST DO if you plan on a trip to Kauai. The Napali coast is a natural wonder of the world, and seeing it from the perspective of the zodiac was like no other. We've hiked the trail and seeing the tiny part that we had done in perspective to the massive coastline was breathtaking. You don't need anything special to go, just a swimsuit, sunscreen, glasses, camera, and some cash for a tip. The Na Pali Odyssey provides drinks, snacks and you don't even need shoes! No matter how many trips you've taken to Hawaii, this will be a highlight for sure better than any ride at Disneyland! read more

We went with a group of 8 and afterward we all voted this the best thing we did while we were on Kauai. We will definitely do it again. I recommend the morning tour. After meeting Captain Aaron and Matt at the Kikiaola Small Boat Harbor in the morning, we were first given a thorough safety briefing about the boat and what would be happening during our excursion. Afterwards I felt confident we were in good hands as my twin 10 year old daughters were along for the trip. In fact they rode in the front of the boat the entire time. Captain Aaron and Matt stopped along the way to view sea life and share their knowledge about the sea life and facts about the Napali Coast. Watch out for the for the dad jokes. My daughters' faces lit up when we were greeted by the large pod of Spinner Dolphins who swam around the boat to check us out. We explored several sea caves that only boats our size could fit into. The views of the coast from the boat were absolutely awesome. Captain Aaron had great music playing during our trip. We were able to take tons of photos and they had photo site suggestions and took photos for us so we could all be in the pictures. Spent time snorkeling in an awesome location were we saw turtles, rays and many different species of fish. Captain Aaron also provided drinks and snacks before we headed back. Captain Aaron also provided dry bags and snorkel gear. After the trip we had already left to drive back to our house on the North Shore. I got a text from Captain Aaron the we had left my daughters' hats on the boat. He waited at the launch ramp as we turned around and drove back to retrieve them. Captain Aaron even gave us some Napali Odyssey hats (thanks for the swag!). Little things like that separate Napali Odyssey Tours from the rest. As far as the negative Yelp review, it sounds like the customer should've booked a sailboat tour. It's hard to take the single negative ghost review serious when the reviewer has only written one review and it's negative versus the hundreds of positive reviews (TripAdvisor). Captain Aaron and his first mate Miguel were the best! They were very knowledgeable about the coastline, the different types of animals we encountered, Hawaiian history of Kauai, and even made everyone on the boat of all ages comfortable with their jokes and puns. We were able to go through sea caves, snorkel by the coast line and swim with turtles, all while getting amazing photos of it all. They went out of their way to make sure guests enjoyed themselves by riding along side pods of dolphins and chasing whales. They provided dry bags, snorkel gear, and snacks/water for the ride as well. I would definitely go again and recommend everyone to the Na Pali Odyseey while visiting Kauai! read more

Our experience with Captain Aaron and Na Pali Odyssey was easily the highlight of our trip to Kauai. My wife, 2 teenage kids (14, 17), and I had an absolute blast. We originally booked with another company because we were hesitant to do this trip on a Zodiac. Due to poor weather and conditions, our original trip was canceled and they were not able to reschedule us within our trip timeframe. We were extremely lucky to find 4 seats with Na Pali Odyssey on the last day of our trip. I'm confident we could not have had a better experience with any other company. Whatever apprehensions we had about a Zodiac were completely unfounded. It's the best way to tour the Na Pali coast. Aaron was entertaining, funny, and informative. He's also a really skilled captain. We stopped to view dolphins and sea turtles, went into all of the sea caves, snorkeled in the beautiful waters of a reef along the coast, and took in the incredible Na Pali coastline. The last 15 minutes of the ride back was a bit bumpy, but was like a super fun roller coaster ride and all on board had huge smiles. Great music and snacks were a bonus. The best thing we did in Hawai'i. An amazing tour of the Napali Coast by Captain Aaron. We saw dolphins, turtles, sea caves and more fish when we snorkeled than anywhere else on the islands. The boat we were on is a 24 foot zodiac which is perfect for seafaring adventure. It gets you there quickly and in and out of the sea caves. More importantly, you always feel safe and the Captain has amazing skills to make you perfectly comfortable. I have been boating for over 25 years and been the guest of many Captains. Aaron ranks up there with the best of them and knows the Napali Coast inside and out. The boat only holds 14 and that is a perfect size. Additionally, this is a owner operated business and Captain Aaron treats you like family. We were lucky to get a last minute reservation with him and it was well worth the price.
