Nono and Cannon were awesome. We did the afternoon Napali Coast tour. Gotta snorkel on the south end of the island. Saw a couple turtles and some awesome fish. We went into a couple sea caves with were so cool to see. The navigation was impeccable. If you have a bad back or get sea sick, you may want to skip it. Otherwise, this is a great tour with breathtaking views.

Best thing to do in Kauai was this!!! Can't explain how amazing the tour was and how great Matt (the guy on the ship) was. Not only was the boat amazing, Matt did a great job of making everyone feel welcome. In my opinion, this was better than the helicopter ride. Beware, you will feel like you're on a 4 hour roller coaster with one hour snorkeling adventure. Wasn't promised but we got to see MANY fish while snorkeling, sea turtles, dolphin, whales (multiple) and the full Nāpali coastline.

This was the highlight of our trip. Capt knew were the whales were and they put on a show. The crew were informative and funny. Great music.

I was dreading getting up at 6 to make it to Captain J's super raft Napoli Coast tour as we needed to be there 45 minutes early for the @7:30 start time. But when we got to the store front, the dread went away when I saw other people looking enthusiastic to get going. There were 24 people (28 is the max) in our group and it felt like a perfect amount. Captain Andrew and Shane (the guide) briefed us quickly before we took off, and made sure we were well informed during the rest of the trip. Today we were lucky to have mild waves and crystal clear water. We saw many spinner dolphins which was exciting as they travelled in a giant pod. During the snorkeling session, we saw many colorful fish and some sea turtles. Captain Andrew and Shane were very patient and helped everyone get in and out of the water. Since everyone was on time and the conditions were perfect, we were able to go a little further north and see more sea caves, which was pretty magical. Overall, we had a blast and would totally recommend the tour to anyone.

Absolutely incredible!!! Nono and cannon were sick, this captain has skills. Cannons history lessons on the island were super cool. This is by far the best experience we've had yet on the islands. Will for sure be bringing family on this trip next time. But seriously these guys deserve a raise, and if your hesitating don't just book the trip 10/10

We had a blast with Captain CJ!! 10/10 recommend! We saw dolphins, turtles, tons of fish, waterfalls, sea caves you name it!! The boat was awesome and was comfortable without sacrificing maneuverability in tight spaces like the caves!

Had a WONDERFUL experience with Nolo and Cannon! My husband and I did another charter earlier in the week and this one surpassed it by far! Our first snorkel spot was too murky so they took us to their secondary spot where we saw plenty of fish and turtles! We got real up close to the cliffs and got in some great pictures. Would recommend to anyone!

What an AWESOME trip down the coast! Captain Nohili and Max were SO. MUCH. FUN! We partied the whole time! It was a thrill ride from beginning to end with great story. From entering the caves to getting soaked by waterfalls, topped off with some great snorkeling . Fun from beginning to end. The cherry on top was the music choices to fit the mood. We can add karaoke to the mix too! A MUST DO.

My first experience ever at the sea and on a boat. This place is fantastic. The captain Jay and his assistant Noah make this experience the best of my life. The boat was very equipped for an emergency. The tour shows everything you need to know about the island. Because the boat wasn't big, we can enter into caves to see how wonderful God is and his creation. They stopped and people snorkeling. Tour is aprox 4 hours in a half. The place has different tour options to choose from. I highly recommend this place.

Let me start by saying that this company, from start to finish, really helped create the best experience for us here on Kaua'i. Every crew member we had (6 different ones), and the front desk ladies were amazing. They created a great environment. This company really cares about you getting what you paid for - which is an awesome time out on the water & seeing the most you can. The boats are very nice, and while the trip doesn't have a lot of fancy embellishments - I preferred that. So here I go in my in-depth review of our 3 trips out with Captain J's! When we first landed we saw this advertised in the airport. I had done a lot of research on different boat tours, but hadn't seen anything that really fit the bill in my mind. I had some older members in my party that weren't interested in a "holding onto the raft" zodiac rides (which I love), and I wasn't interested in a overly expensive catamaran trip... When we saw that their boats were a nice compromise between the two, we decided to book with them! We started with a whale watch. Our first crew members were Landon & Matt. They were great, but the whales just were not preforming. In fact, we didn't see a single one! And you can't control nature! But then Captain J's really shined through... they worked with us to get booked again! I have never EVER had a tour do this. It really made an impression that they cared about you getting the experience you paid for. So we rebooked for later in our trip. It was at this point we decided we wanted to do a Napli Coast tour. Now while this may change, at this time, if you booked this tour with them and they had to reroute, you could choose not to go and get a refund. Based on the research I had done, I did not see this offered by any other tour! And winter in Kauai - the weather on that coast is very unpredictable, so I appreciated this! We then went on our second whale tour with our favorite crew!!! CJ & Nohili! They were absolutely fantastic and were so much fun. We saw at least 10 whales, and had such a great time. It really was a blast. The next morning we got up early for our coast tour. Now - let me say: the waters on the coast were serious. Ryan, our captain - handled the water great, but if you're wondering if you can handle the weather, I would suggest giving serious consideration to if you can handle this trip in the winter. The two older members of our party did not do this trip, and I think that was the best decision. As their website says, this is an adventure tour! So be prepared for one! On the coast trip we saw more whales, hundreds of dolphins, and the coast was breathtaking. In the morning, the sun starts filtering through the cliffs, and with the sea mist rising - the area looks fierce. It was quite a sight to behold. Afterward, they took us back to smoother water, to a nice area to snorkel. It wasn't anything over the top amazing, but there was plenty of sea life and more coral than I had seen in other parts of the island. Light snacks and drinks are provided, and you can always bring additional food. Like I said - no frills, but I wasn't interested in paying $75-100 more for a nicer lunch. Over take-aways: This is a no frills tour that centers on the adventure. The staff is great, and focuses on giving you the best experience possible. I am so glad we found this tour group, and booking with them really completed our trip to Kaua'i. Mahalo to the entire Captain J's team!

On July 4th, 2025, my sister (Veronica) & I went on Captain J's Tour of the NaPali Coast (afternoon trip). It was excellent & I highly recommend it! Nono & Kahena were our captains/tour guides. They were extremely friendly, knowledgeable, funny, kind, & took safety seriously. We learned a lot & saw a lot! Thankfully, the weather & waves were great that day so we were able to also go snorkeling & go into the cave. The entire trip was amazing and the scenery breathtaking. I am extremely thankful for the trip & will definitely be using them again when I have out of state visitors. Mahalo Captain J's!

Cannon and CJ made the trip amazing! we learned about some Hawaiian history, snorkeled, went in sea caves, saw turtles, tons of dolphins and rocked out the whole way back. Awesome day even though it was a little choppy.

Honestly one of the best activities I've done . We had a ride scheduled with another company and we were canceled the day off . We called the receptionist of Captain J's so last minute and she was able to get us in . We were a bit nervous about it being a raft but I'm honestly so glad it was . Our captain CJ and guide Matt were so nice and knowledgeable. CJ somehow outran the rain all day and got us to every spot . Matt was so helpful and shared so much knowledge. They both made the trip so much better . Me and my partner both walked out thanking the other company for canceling on us because if they didn't we would've never experienced this . Forever will recommend captain J's !

Captain Max was incredible--his sense of humor kept us laughing even as the rain and mist rolled in. The two women on the crew (I wish I could remember their names) were fantastic, making sure everyone was comfortable and answering all our questions with a smile. The playlist on board was spot on, setting the perfect vibe. I wish I could find it on Spotify! Despite the weather, the views were breathtaking, and getting a little drenched just added to the adventure. The food was delicious, especially the smoked pork, salad, and fresh fruit, and my husband loved the mai tais. Even without the sunset, the whole experience was magical. After chatting with other travelers, I'm convinced we had one of the best tours available. especially after talking to a couple at our hotel pool who had paid more than we did and only got snacks limited alcohol. I can't recommend Holo Holo Charters enough, and I'm already looking forward to trying their breakfast or snorkel cruise next time. If you're looking for an amazing adventure, this is it!

Price was $250 per person and we booked a couple days before the tour date. (we went at the end of March - the weather was fantastic and not too hot, also not raining). Although it was pricey, I felt like it was worth the experience and highly recommend anyone do a tour, even if it's not with this company. We got back to shore around 7-7:30pm, so total time was 5 hours ish. Pros: - the Na Pali coast is BEAUTIFUL - the views were truly a once in a life time experience for me and I saw the fullest rainbow I've ever seen - The tour guide was super informative, we learned a lot about whales, and they also taught us a lot about certain mountains and waterfalls that we passed on the Na Pali Coast (like where Kauai kings were buried). - We stopped to watch whales multiple times and it was really cool! - The 3 staff working on board the ship were extremely helpful in answering questions, providing drinks, and instructing people from a safety perspective - Safety - I felt very well taken care of the whole time. It's a barefoot cruise but people can choose to keep their shoes on if they want. They provided bags for people feeling nauseous and gave good advice when people were feeling seasick. - Food provided - it's not fine dining or anything (chicken teriyaki, salad, etc) but it does beat having to pack your own food or go hungry around dinner time. Also unlimited alcohol or nonalcoholic drinks. - The staff helped us take photos and there's a lot of great photo opportunities at the coast - Champagne toast at sunset, which was beautiful to watch out on the water - bathrooms available on board - My husband didn't feel like eating on board due to the motion sickness so they were kind enough to pack a to-go box for us! - Parking was easy and the meet up location was easy to find - we stood outside for most of the ride since it felt better than sitting inside, so we did get a bunch of sea-spray and got super wet from the 10 ft swells, but it felt really fun! Cons: - I think they need to put a huge disclaimer with statistics or something to show people how common it is for people to get seasick and vomit. I think maybe 5 people from our whole boat got really sick and either fell or vomited during the trip (can feel a little weird enjoying the beautiful view while someone smells like vomit next to you lol). They do tell you at the beginning that you can walk away and get a full refund after hearing the captain briefing during the meet up starting spot, but I don't think they really emphasize just how many people get sick. I personally felt fine but I felt really bad for people who had to gut through the five hour round trip feeling terrible. bring Dramamine!! This was definitely a highlight of my first time in Kauai, I wouldn't necessarily do it more than once due to the price, but it was a fantastic experience for the views!

The strangers we rode with, all turned out to be cool. 2 boats go out (mini-catamarans, with cover from the sun). They expertly traverse the waves, and cliffs, and the caves, giving you some amazing first-hand visuals and photos. But yeah, that boat will be a rockin', during those up-close cave moments. Spoiler: You probably won't see whales, unless you're there before May. But we DID see a cute pod of Dolphins, who cozy'd up to our boat for a while. Our boat had Casey and Spencer. They were wise beyond their years, in all things Kauai. Funny and friendly. Spencer navigated the heck out of those waves, while Casey handled the nauseous passengers with MOTHERLY CARE. Spencer was 50/50 on allowing us to snorkel, based on conditions and a previous scare, a few weeks prior. But he ultimately made the call to GET IN THE WATER. He wisely kept us on a leash (not literally), whistling at swimmers when they got too close to a reef (with waves that could wash you onto the reef). It was fun and chill. Saw a HUGE, MASSIVE KING DADDY SEA TURTLE. He did not enjoy us as much as we enjoyed him and he bounced. Followed by a JR. Turtle, who stuck around a bit longer. Tons of fish. Spencer & Casey gave us good food and hike recommendations, and everyone treated us like friends / family. Highly recommend this team if you're going out. And you already know I highly recommend some Dramamine.

The captains were very informative, knowledgeable and engaging. They gave great background and history about all the spots we saw. We even saw some dolphins up close. We got to sit at the bow of the boat on the way back. They gave us snorkeling gear and allowed us to go out in the water and explore. We saw some amazing sea life and coral reefs. They gave us lunch, snacks and soda after. The ride there and back was also very smooth. I would highly recommend booking a tour with them!

From the lunch to the snorkeling to the vast amount of information... what a home run. Greg guided us perfectly through some rough chop and we came out on the other side ready for more. Greg is 6th generation Hawaiian so ask away... he knows everything. It is unbelievable !!! Would definitely do the tour again

After taking it myself now, I can see why! We met Captain Greg Baptiste and copilot Caleb at Kiki'aola Small Boat Harbor at 8:45 and ended about 2:45. We were supposed to end at 2:30 but got delayed by kayakers who caused boat traffic. A 6th generation Kaua'i kama'aina, Captain Greg was extremely experienced, confident, and relaxed so we felt very safe with him at the helm, even when the boat was slapping the waters and we felt like we were on a mechanical bull ride. Luckily I didn't get seasick, so it felt a like a real life Disney ride to me. However, I don't recommend this for those who get queasy. His first mate, Caleb, took turns with him at the wheel and dove in to achor us. Throughout the tour Greg educated us with fascinating facts and tales about the geography, history, and lore of the breathtaking beautiful Na Pali Coast. One of the lessons from the legend of Na Keiki a ono iwi that resonated with me was 1.Listen to your elders 2. Do not Steal 3. You are responsible for your children's actions. (Teachers, gotta love this one!!) Highlights were the open ceiling cave and iconic "Cathedral " cliffs. We stopped for about an hour or so of beautiful clear snorkeling where we got to see turtles in addition to some beautiful and large fish. They use excellent Mantis brand snorkeling gear which I really liked and will fit you for fins. After that we were very ready for lunch! They normally cater sandwiches but something happened so we assembled our own with fixings from Costco which tasted extra good at sea! The only suggestion I would have for this business is to do a better job of briefing folks about safety and how to treat the reef. Some kids in our group were sitting and stepping on the coral. Mahalo nui Capt. Greg and Crew for an incredible day trip!! Will definitely recommend this to everyone I know!
