We took my family visiting from out of town on the harbor tour. My family members visiting have…read moremobility issues after recent surgeries, so this was a low impact option for them. The tour we took was $25 per person. Picking up the tickets I preordered was easy. With boarding, no one told us when it was time to board though we were sitting at the dock, but we saw a group going and went along with them. Seating on the boat included an upper deck to enjoy the air; my family preferred the lower deck which was booth style. We found a booth together easily. There were large windows to look outside, but the narration was prerecorded and kind of quiet. Occasionally a crew member would chime in. The narration was always pointing out things on the starboard side, so keep that in mind. The interior seemed kind of outdated overall and most of the other people on the tour were on the elderly side, so it might cater more towards that audience. Overall, this was an okay tour of the harbor. The price was fine for what it was, but I wouldn't personally choose to do this tour again. I know there are other options that might be better through the company, so only speaking from my experience with what I described.

To start, we booked tickets online. Our adventure did not sell out so they called us and rescheduled for later the same day. When we arrived, we checked in under a tent that was set up at the end of small street along the water. The tent had some pirate themed items for sale. We waited there, on some benches, until our cruise was ready. Once on the ship tattoos and nicknames were given, stories were told, songs were sung and dances danced. There were battles with pirates, water cannons, treasure to be had all will cruising the waters of downtown Baltimore. Overall, a pretty cool adventure. Urban Pirates is definitely not cheap. My son, who is 8, really enjoyed the experience. My daughter, a middle schooler, had a little less fun. But there were kids older than her on our boat that were really into it. So, like a lot of things, you'll mostly get out of Urban Pirates what you are willing to put into it. Yaaaaar!

You can use the Bluetooth for the speakers on the boat. There are cushioned seats and a table in the middle which makes it nice for holding drinks. It's fun and you can have multiple people onboard. I plan to do this again! I went with a friend but I definitely want to do this again with a group. Happy this finally came to Baltimore and i think its better pricing than renting a full character.

Upon exiting our vehicle, we snapped this photo and then left. The park is a complete dump. Broken glass EVERYWHERE. Meaning you probably can't even take one step without stepping on some. I was not risking my dog's paws to stay more than the moment we did. And the activities going on around there (drugs and prostitution) were definitely not something any law abiding citizen wished to be around. I knew this park was in Baltimore City so why I expected anything more...I'm still kicking myself for even giving them the chance.

The kayaks are already lined up at the launch point until the day is over. Go play, then after you return your rental gear, go pay. The Susquehanna River is a gentle river...the water is more like that of a bay or a lake. There are beaches and islands to explore. There are marinas and and docks so there is some traffic areas with boaters and jet-skiers, but it isn't daunting...just stick to the river bank until you're comfortable...you will be paddling in the middle of the river, soaking up the view like a pro before you even realize it! The staff is really, really nice, friendly and helpful. I highly recommend spending the day on the Susquehanna and Shank's Mare. note: the launch point is directly across the shop where there is public parking, picnic tables, docks, fishing, duck feeding, etc.

The bathhouse was clean and had hot water. Most campsites only have lukewarm or cold water. There were also an abundance of toilet facilities and they were well maintained/cleaned. The view of the Potomac was breathtaking and the only downfall was that the camping sites are relatively close to each other both on the mountain and at the river's edge. I do recommend this center, however, and we will likely return when back in the area!

In our family, birthdays call for adventures. For my husbands recent birthday, we enjoyed a great…read moreday on the Chesepeake with Capt Dan and his speedy little Trimaran! A 3 hour tour was just right. Our son was excited to learn some sailing. The rest of us just relaxed to the sound of the wind and waves! To add to the great day, the sail starts and ends at the Deep Creek Restaurant on the Magothy River. To judge by the crowd, their Sunday Brunch is popular. We opted to take snacks on the sail and eat afterward on the patio. Everything was very good! Calamari was especially good. If you travel to Annapolis from west of DC through town, you will be happy to know the route is now fixed! The southwest freeway to 695 then to 295 north is open and marked! This is a really big deal! I'm a native, and this route has been broken all my life. In summary, a great day on the water! And an adventure to remember with cool pictures, no bruises, and good food!
