We've had a really poor experience. So far have spent £180 for a dishwasher repair that despite two visits is still not working. Booking return visits has been arduous and time consuming, with appointments taking a further 2 weeks to come through. Wouldn't recommend read more

AVOID!!! WOULD NOT RECOMMEND NAC OVER £300 SPENT AND FAULT STILL NOT FIXED Please read other negative reviews before committing to this company, I wish we had! We are now over £300 out of pocket and our dishwasher still has the exact same recurring fault. Engineers have attended multiple times, and on each visit a replacement part has been fitted. However, the same part has melted again each time, clearly showing that the underlying fault has never been properly diagnosed or resolved. Despite this, we were required to make ADVANCE payments before knowing whether the repair had been successful -- which it wasn't, on any occasion. We are now in the position where we have effectively paid the cost of a brand-new dishwasher with nothing to show for it. The company has REFUSED to offer even a partial refund, despite repeated failed repairs and clear evidence that the original issue remains unresolved. All they can offer is for the engineers to come back and replace the same part AGAIN which we know is pointless and will be yet more money down the drain. Extremely disappointing service NAC!!! To clarify: we have no complaints about the individual (Newcastle based) engineers, who were polite and professional. Our issue is entirely with the company's repair process, repeated misdiagnosis, and refusal to take responsibility when the repairs failed! read more

This company base in Yorkshire tries to operate a service with one engineer for the whole of my region and a computerised system for allotting appointments. The first appointment to fix my washing machine was made within a week of my contacting them and the very pleasant engineer efficiently diagnosed the problem which needed a small universally available part and ten minutes' work. I paid for the part which was ordered immediately. Then my hellish experience with NAC began. I was given an appointment for Friday 5th December; I phoned to say that Friday afternoons were not possible, yet on the evening of the 4th I was sent an afternoon slot which, of course, I had to refuse. I was then sent my next appointment for the following Friday. Again I phoned and appeared to be speaking to a person (but perhaps I wasn't?) about the afternoon not being suitable. Again on the evening before came an afternoon slot! In utter frustration I telephoned to complain about this and was told the engineer would be on holiday for a few days and I could be offered an appointment for the following Friday! As there seemed to be a pattern, I refused Friday and was offered Monday 22nd December. The engineer came and did a quick and efficient repair. But that meant I had waited three and a half weeks for a 10 minute repair! Is this service? Anybody who would find it difficult to do without a machine for this length of time should be warned about how this company operates. They may attend initial appointments promptly, but once you've paid for a part they don't seem to care how long they keep you waiting for the repair. read more

If you're looking for an oven repair or SMEG repair service in the North West, avoid NAC Domestic Appliances Ltd and SC Appliances North West. We booked NAC for a SMEG oven repair. They sent Chris from SC Appliances. On 18th July 2024, he came to fit a fan oven element and SMEG oven timer. The timer failed immediately during installation. Chris admitted it might be due to not switching off the power and incorrect wiring. We paid £271.14 for this failed repair. After that, Chris ignored our messages for more than two weeks. NAC only sent automated replies and claimed they weren't responsible because he's a "service partner" -- something never explained when booking the oven repair. With family visiting from overseas, we were left with no working oven and had to spend £400 on a new AEG oven instead. Poor workmanship, poor communication, and a set-up that lets each business blame the other. This experience is now reported to Trading Standards and SMEG UK. read more

I called NAC for a dishwasher repair in the first week in June . An Engineer came out for the cost of £140.00. He told me not to use my dishwasher and that it would be 2 weeks for the part to arrive. I received an email saying they had located the part and I had to pay another £40 for the part . Weeks past with no contact . I have emailed and asked for a manager to call me back twice . The only response I am getting via email is AI generated. I have been told after 8 weeks of waiting to get the part , is I can get the money for the part back not the 10 minute engineer visit. I have explained i paid £180.00 for a repair on my dishwasher which to date still has not been repaired. I have asked for the part number to see if I can source the part but they have not given it!! I now have to report to ombudsman as I don't believe this to be a reputable company and feel totally scammed. Date of experience: 31 July 2025 read more

DREADFUL, AVOID AT ALL COSTS. When you first call and they want your money they are all smiles but after that the service is so poor its almost beyond words. On the 2nd January I had an engineer come out and said I needed a part. The messages I got said 1-2 days. After emails, WhatsApp's messages and failed calls, they finally got 'the part' and an engineer visit today. 1-2 days actually translates to 10 days and that was only because I was persistent. Despite fitting this part that took so long to arrive the fringe is still broken. The engineer asked me to sign a form. I refused saying I wasn't signing off for close to £160 when nothing has been fixed. He said it wasn't signing off the work it was to say that he had been here. I still refused so then he calls his boss and says I wont sign the work off - so that was a complete lie! His boss tells him to leave and then I get a WhatsApp telling me the work is complete and do I want to insure it. OUTRAGEUOS. If you are ever, ever looking for a fridge repair don't touch this company unless you have money to burn and time to waste. So the work IS NOT signed off, I'm stuck with yet another AI automated message and £160 less in cash and a broken fridge. read more

AVOID! Absolute scumbags and a complete rip off! They just refer you to anyone and take no responsibility. Sent me a Cowboy who had no clue how to diagnose the fault and didn't even examine the appliance. Charged me £80 and when I replied to the feedback request they just forwarded my comments and sent an AI generated reply referring me back to him! They don't care. You will see an identical AI generated reply to all of the negative feedback on here. Money for old rope. You are better off randomly choosing a company directly yourself and taking your chances! They claim to be family run based in Nottingham. Their head office is in Lancashire and their customer service is non existent! read more

Tragic service with zero guarantee or support. AI powered bot "customer service" that gets you nowhere. I booked with NAC, a "family ran" authentic and genuine business who immediately in the booking confirmation said they will match me with a random self employed technician instead. I was not made aware of this during my booking or when I was selecting NAC as the service fit for me. this self employed technician came to service my dishwasher thats leaking,a minimal amount, from one bottom corner of the door. the technician removed the door during inspection then refitted it and left, telling me the issue was not the dishwasher but the soapy residue that's travelled into the dishwasher thru my drains, as it's tightly connected to my kitchen sink and washing machine, basically sharing the same drain. he told me to run another quick cycle to clear it, refitted the door, and left. I paid £85 for this zero service, basically just for the callout. after he left, my appliance is much worse. it now leaks from both bottom corners, both top corners and all the way down the sides of the door including affecting my cabinets on either side. what was at first a single paper tissue wipe, kind of a leak, is now a bowl to catch water from EVERYWHERE situation. and I paid £85 for this experience. not only did the technician not address or thoroughly inspect the dishwasher,he made it run worse than before the visit. I immediately reached out to NAC since my booking was with them and it left me confused as to who is responsible here. I received zero support. they have a guarantee on their website to repair - yet their customer support is just an automated AI bot, circling through the same nonsense while completely missing the point, impossible to talk to a real person - blocked by AI bots - and the resolution they offered is for me to book another visit to have someone look at it again, and pay fully again. Not only did they send someone out who did not fix my appliance, they sent someone independent who made my appliance worse! and they want me to book and pay AGAIN to have someone else look at it, while hiding behind AI "customer service" and not taking any responsibility for the service they failed to provide. absolutely shocking. read more

If you want a company whose idea of communication is: * not showing its phone number anywhere and using a 'private number' to call you so that you can't call back * instead using a chatbot (a machine) that can't answer your queries and tells you someone will call you back (but at least half the time they don't) * when you express annoyance, being told condescendingly by the bot that it 'understands how frustrated you feel' ... and whose idea of helping with your repair is: * saying that they can't locate the necessary parts for 'warranty reasons' - you'll have to do it yourself * giving you inadequate information to locate them and (of course) no means of communicating to check whether you've got the right ones * coming to fit them for a £66 call out fee, and going away again because you've got the wrong part * repeating the process (although this time you avoid the £66 by managing to have a conversation with an actual person for the first time in weeks) * finding out from the parts supplier that the only way the part could ever have been obtained would have been by buying £400 worth of equipment to pre-programme the part * giving up after 6 1/2 weeks, £175 poorer and buying a new washing machine for £400 ... then NAC is the company you're looking for! read more

Came out, said that the appliance was fixable but they couldn't do it. Charged for it despite not covering that scenario in their terms and conditions. Their terms clearly list cases where a service charge was payable and this was not one of them. Rude and dismissive on the phone when discussed and refused to refund. Avoid them entirely. Also lied about the booking process saying the engineer would call to arrange a visit. Engineer said they don't work that way at all. Note they just work as an agency sending out contractors. Look to book local engineers directly instead. read more

Truly awful service from NAC Repairs. We had a cosmetic fault with our Smeg oven; it just needed new door hinges to help the main oven compartment seal fully when closed. After the NAC Repair engineer's initial visit, I noticed that I was unable to set the clock upon switching the oven's power back on. Our particular model of oven requires the clock to be set before the main oven will work at all. The buttons I had used to set the clock just a couple of weeks before when the clocks changed were now unresponsive. I reported this to NAC, along with the fact that their engineer had left after the first visit without switching the oven back on and checking that it worked, as well as not reattaching the splash-back to the wall behind our oven that he'd removed. I was told that the engineer would look at this additional problem when he returned to fit the new hinges. When the engineer came back a week later, I noticed that he was lifting the oven directly below the now-faulty button panel in order to pull it out of it's recess. As he was doing this, one of the oven's control buttons popped out of the panel completely. He offered to open this panel and have a look at what the problem might be, and discovered that the plastic housing at the rear of the button panel had snapped, meaning the buttons no longer made contact with the circuit board. When I asked whether the manner in which he had lifted the oven might have caused this breakage, he was evasive and tried to blame the breakage on the age of the oven, even though these same buttons had worked fine only 2 weeks previously. He made a note of the clock circuit part number and said he would report the breakage to his manager and that they would be in touch regarding next steps to get this fixed, as he didn't have a spare part with him. When I quizzed him again on the fact that this part hadn't been broken before his actions and now it was, he conceded that he could have broken it and apologised, and said he would write detailed notes for his manager. He then proceeded to try and fit the new hinges on our oven door, which he unsuccessfully managed to do on his own due to the strength of the springs. He explained that they had been shipped in a closed position and he needed them to be fully open to be able to fit them properly. I offered to help him with this, but also asked him what he would have done if I had been physically unable to help him, to which he didn't have an answer. After a struggle, we were able to properly fit the hinges together, and he left, again assuring us that he would feed back to his manager and the office would be in touch to discuss fixing the new fault. The next response we got from NAC Repairs was a bill for £250 for a replacement button circuit, without any other explanation. When I phoned NAC customer service to inquire about the engineer's report, they told me that all it said was that there was nothing the engineer could have done to the oven to break this part during the work he conducted. I told them that the engineer had told me differently in person, and that I had watched him do something that could have directly contributed to this; namely the way he lifted the oven directly below the damaged part. The phone operator very unhelpfully told me that they could only make recommendations based on the reports of their own engineers. When I challenged this and asked if they ever listened to the feedback of their customers, I was told that all they could recommend was that I write a written complaint to NAC's customer service department. When I asked to speak to the operator's manager, they told me that there was no-one more senior available for me to speak to. When I asked if I could speak to the engineer's manager or a manager from the engineering department, I was told that they don't speak to customers. So I wrote effectively what I have written here in an email to NAC customer services, and after 10 days I received a short reply which effectively said the same as I was told over the phone; the company would only listen to their own engineers' reports, they would not offer me any form of refund on the fees I had already paid, and there was nothing else they could do for me in this case unless I wanted to proceed with the £250 repair to the part that wasn't broken before NAC attended. I responded to this email urging them to reconsider their position and take onboard my feedback as a customer, but I've received no further response. 6 weeks later and we still have no working oven, and are now in a position where we will look to buy a new one rather than give any more money to NAC. Stay away! read more

i had a very negative experience with NAC. The engineer they sent came the same day but was not equipped to do the job. He placed my cooker hood precariously on the wall, held in place with the wrong sized screws and assured me he would be back the following day to put it right. I paid him the £80 call out charge and took the following day off work. He did not return as promised. He was almost impossible to contact and either ignored my calls/messages or hung up straight away. We eventually arranged a date for him to come back. I took time off work again but he didn't show up. This happened 3 times. I eventually called NIC and was informed that they took no responsibility forctheir engineers and the ownes was on me to sort out directly with the engineer...despite their claim that all repairs are guaranteed as standard. The oerson i spoke to from NAC was rude, dismissive and defensive and extreme lacking in customer relation skills. I will not use NAC in the future and would not recommend them read more

NAC - SCAM ! Unprofessional and Misleading Service I strongly advise against using NAC Domestic Appliances Ltd for the following reasons: 1. Misleading Sales Tactics - Their sales team assured us that they could repair the appliance, but this was not the case. 2. Unreliable Engineers - The so-called "engineers" conducted nothing more than a basic power check. They informed the tenant that a part was needed, but their official report falsely stated that the appliance had been fixed. 3. Lack of Communication - We were told to wait for a follow-up call, which never came. When I contacted customer service days later, they insisted that the issue had already been resolved--based on their incorrect report. 4. Unjustified Charges - After disputing their false report, I received a new invoice stating that a part was needed. However, they also admitted that even after replacing the part, further issues could arise. At this point, the repair cost had already escalated to £310--enough to buy a new fridge freezer. 5. Dishonest Practices - They took payment, issued a misleading report to close the case, and ignored further communication until I reached out. When I finally arranged a second visit to clarify the discrepancies, they failed to show up but still sent an additional invoice for £191! Conclusion: NAC Appliances Repair is unprofessional, deceptive, and exploitative. They take your money, provide little to no service, and attempt to charge even more for repairs that they don't know if that's correct practice! This company operates in a way that feels like a complete scam - BEAWARE ! I will keep filling this on all review platforms if I wasn't given a reasonable solution!! read more

I wouldn't give them a star at all if I didn't have to. I called to book an appointment and was given one the next day: I received a message to arrange an ETA with the Engineer. Turns out that he wasn't due the next day but 2 days on!! Not happy! He eventually came but didn't look at the washing machine because there was a foot board, however he took a call-out charge of £75.00 and said he would be back the next day when the board had been removed - no show and no communication at all. I tried calling him but he did not answer my calls. I am still left with an appliance that doesn't work and I am out of pocket. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. read more

I would like to give NAC another bad review, there seems to be a pattern of customers in a similar position.I will cut my losses as it's cheaper to buy a brand dishwasher, than have your man fit and find yet 'another' fault. You should be ashamed of yourselves, ripping hard working people out of hundreds of pounds with no fix in sight. I gave you 1 star because it wouldn't let me continue but you really don't deserve a star at all. read more

Paid for a repair in order to clean the vents for my tumble dryer. They claimed it was impossible to access the vents so left without repairing my tumble dryer. My husband dismantled the tumble dryer himself, accessed the vents and cleaned them which was supposedly impossible and the problem has resolved. I'm not sure if the engineer was incompetent or lazy but either way I was lied to and charged for a service that I did not receive. They are refusing any form of refund and claim there is no escalation procedure. I am now taking legal action against them. read more

I paid over £300 for NAC to fix my dishwaher, it was clear from the get go that the engineer didn't know what the problem was, he kept fitting parts which i had to pay for. When he actually founf the fault after multiple visits he deemed the dishwaser unrepairable. Know what what the problem is, non of the new parts were ever going to solve the problem. NAC didn't want to know. Morral of the story is give NAC a wide birth and do not use this company. Customer service at NAC is very low down on their priorities read more

Paid £96 for a call out/repair visit and was told that my Rangemaster cooker needed a replacement spark generator and a part cost quote would be sent tomorrow morning. That evening, out of curiosity, I went on the official Rangemaster spare parts website and was told (via live chat) that a genuine spare part is priced at £111 (non genuine are a lot cheaper). Part cost quotation was sent to me by NAC the following day coming in at £340!! Spoke to NAC and asked why they were charging over three times the cost of a genuine part and the women got very defensive and stroppy and said that they 'don't get their parts from Rangemaster' and NAC 'never said their parts where the cheapest'. They also refused to fit 'self sourced' parts even if they are genuine parts sourced from the manufacturer. I suggested to NAC that this was nothing short of a scam but the women said that this was just my opinion. She said she would look into the cost but never got back to me. £96 wasted! NAC seem to rely on the fact that customers have already paid for the £96 repair/call out visit up front and then abuse their customers' trust and ignorance by charging them extortionate prices for parts. A complete rip-off! I would strongly recommend staying well clear of this organisation. read more

Absolutely appalling service from NAC. Based on my experience, I have serious doubts about the reliability of their Trustpilot reviews. Their engineer told me the heating elements needed replacing and confirmed that I could purchase the parts myself. I did exactly that, only for NAC to later refuse to carry out the repair. I then raised a formal complaint, but they have failed to provide a proper response. It appears NAC relies on outsourced engineers, and the focus seems to be on getting paid for visits rather than actually resolving customers' issues. This has been a frustrating, costly, and unacceptable experience. I strongly advise others to avoid this company. Do not risk wasting your hard-earned money on a service that, in my experience, does not deliver. read more

I booked an engineer and was told I needed to pay £114 upfront. They charged me immediately, but the engineer never showed up. I called them several times and spoke with three different people -- each one assured me the engineer was on the way, but no one ever arrived. I've since requested a refund three times, and every time they've promised it was being processed. A month later, I still haven't received my money or had my coffee machine repaired. This company is dishonest and unreliable. AVOID THESE THIEVES!!!!! P.S. The company's website shows only glowing reviews, but none are dated, and there's no way for customers to post their own feedback. This strongly suggests that the reviews published there are fake! read more
