On our most recent stop, we found that the restaurant that was formerly here (Carnitas Y Birria Los Amigos) - was no longer here. After talking to the servers here, we found that the business was sold and this is the new reincarnation. The menu lost some favorites from the previous business such as Menudo, but gained a huge drink menu - which comes in handy when the servers mishear your order and pack a crapton of chili in your tacos! I ordered 2 Tacos with asada, and a burrito with asada, and my order came out within minutes. The food was fresh, the meat portions were generous, and they pack your tacos/burritos full of fresh, tasty, guacamole. There was also a bowl of salsa with CHUNKS of avocado on each table as well. The only downside was that the server must have misheard me when I requested "no spicy", as both my tacos and burritos were probably the spiciest thing I've eaten in a decade. My tongue was burning and the diet coke just made things worse lol. I'll have to be more clear next time we visit. I left feeling satisfied - the best part? My entire meal including my glass bottle of "Coca-cola Light" (which is the Diet Coke south of the border) - was a little under $6 USD. While seating is a bit tighter, they did add some chairs and tables, as well as a "bar" type of area. The restaurant also added another restroom - which is a plus, since the previous restaurant only had one working restroom. Parking is another story - you may have to drive around the block to find some free spots that aren't reserved for businesses. This restaurant is about a 10 minute walk from the pedestrian border crossing at Otay Mesa. Photos included: 1) Menu - they added a drink menu that the previous restaurant didn't have, but they no longer offer Menudo. Note: The prices you see are in pesos, not USD. The exchange rate at the time of my visit was 1 USD = 19 Pesos. 2) My meal: 2x tacos asada and 1x burrito asada.

If you're stuck on the border send someone down to get some tacos, tortas, potatoes, quesadillas or tostadas. Much letter than tacos Isabel on the corner cart.

The queso is a must. I loaded that on the tacos with hot sauce & it was ‍ ! The service here was really great from start to finish from recommendations, getting us more napkins, and refilling our hibiscus limeades to go. Super pleasant experience. The inside is very clean and comfortable.

We ordered a Tijuana panther, a picadillo taco, and a brisket taco. We added a side of their queso and a tortilla with butter. I love the big patio, booths inside, and service. It was pretty slow for not being very busy and what appeared to be overstuffed. The chips and queso were very good. The Tijuana panther taco was sopping wet and I could only finish half of it because it was so messy and hard to eat without asking for a fork and knife. My husband's picadillo taco is where it was at. It was tangy from the pickled jalapenos, meat was beautifully seasoned, and tortilla dry enough to hold. The brisket taco was overstuffed and messy as well. I appreciate packing them full, but when they're served rolled it makes a handheld food item completely inedible by hand. The employee working the register was delightful and I'd go back just for her.

We get there right before it opens and they sit us down right away. I thought that was awesome. Some places will wait until they officially open. Even while just opening it was a festive atmosphere and the employees were amazing. My wife had the Diabla shrimp plate and I had the three taco platter I choose the birria and Korean tacos and they were amazing and had a different twist to them. You get to choose from various ones. This place is very instagramic and you may be paying a little bit more but in my opinion it is well worth it. We had the Miche mango blended drink and I ordered the Cadillac Margarita. They were very good and reasonably priced as well. The grand finale was the churro cart. What a show. Definitely worth some social media posts. We really enjoyed this place and hope it makes a comeback

I believe this restaurant banked on the fact that it was in Little Italy within downtown so they could charge extra for everything. Nothing you would get food or drink wise felt it was justified and the food was really plain or didn't taste good. Ambiance was a bit of a mess too since it seemed to try and mix a lot of different themes together which didn't work out too well. I think it was for the best this business moved on. Let a new restaurant take it's place that can do a better job in the night life scene, or try something new and different.
