There were six of us and we sat at the bar facing one TV she set up for us to watch the race on. There was one other group on the other side of the bar, about eight of them, I think. Everyone was eating and drinking and I, being the DD, was only allowed to have one drink per hour BOO. But, I made the most of it. Karen REALLY knows how to make an old fashioned and when I asked her to make one with her best Mezcal, she did and it was FABULOUS. My bestie, wanted a Mezcal cocktail, too and Karen made her one with apple and jalapeno that she loved. The boys drank giant beers. We also tried out some nachos, wings and my dad got a baked potato. The potato was the only disappointment in the experience because it was on the hard side, but otherwise, we had a fun afternoon and really enjoyed getting to know Karen. Its right next to Puerto Nuevo, so a nice place to have cocktails before your lobster dinner and ask Karen to make you something delicious. She really is awesome. I honestly haven't tried too much on their menu because I can't finish their generously portioned entrees after a cup of the poblano. I usually go for one of their salads, the Asian chicken or the spinach salad. Or I'll get a la carte street tacos, the chicken or pork. I like the salsas that come with their complimentary chips. To this day I can't decide between them. The salsa verde has more of a kick but not too much heat. The salsa rojo is milder and thicker with nice flavor. Lots of retirees in the area coming to dine. It can get busy, especially Thursday and Friday lunchtime, and then you have to be patient for your food. Lisa in the front always has a sparkle and a kind word, and Guillermo remembers my drink order.
