I could have gotten a Panera sandwich around the corner from my house. That is not the reason I came. I came expecting a professional and educational event, not a cramped, thrown-together sales pitch. It took over 25 minutes to get here. Paid highways and had to drive at night. It felt like they were trying to cram in as many people as possible just to see if one person might sign up for their program. The whole thing came across as careless, misleading, and money-hungry. Truly disappointing.

(absolutely nothing had changed) I got the blood work done but they won't see me or refill my prescriptions without me paying for the "cancelled" appointment. so I am now three months with no meds for diabetes, blood pressure or cholesterol. seriously? this is "patient advocacy?" they dont even post my results in the healthcare app either, essentially holding my results hostage. This is by no means an exaggeration as I have witnessed him not only care for myself but my entire family for years. He even made multiple house visits during the unfortunate time when my mother was fighting lung cancer and was too ill to travel, refusing to charge for them as well. The downside is that as of my writing this he is only in his office on Wednesdays as he still is a practicing ER doctor as well. He also tends to run behind on office days due to the limited appointments available as well as the fact that he spends a lot of time with each patient. It is my opinion that the level of care far outweighs any of the cons in working with him. Some people are just born to be and do certain things, "Dr. A" has found his true calling as a doctor. After moving back to Orlando, I am so happy to see he is practicing again and his office is near my new home. He is the primary doctor for my entire family. He offers solutions that are beyond medicinal and also offers holistic approaches for those who are interested in that path. He sits with you as long as he needs to in the room and listens to all of your concerns. He cares for your well-being and orders really detailed check-ups to truly see your condition and explore the core root of your problems instead of just masking them with medication. I am so happy to have landed again in this office and I am so happy he is our family doctor again. The only downside to his office are the wait times but I must say its worth it. It may get frustrating waiting beyond your appointment time but when you are inside and he is giving you that individual attention you are so thankful you waited. I always leave satisfied. I came in as a healthy, young male for a pre-employment physical. Working in healthcare, I get physicals at least annually, among other tests and screens. She could have easily performed a cursory physical exam, asked me whether I could physically work, and signed my form. Instead, Dr. Velez provided a complete physical exam, obtained a full medical and surgical history, and screened me for a few health conditions based on my intake forms and family history. Needless to say, I was impressed with her approach this visit. Not only does she provide comprehensive care, she also knows how to build rapport. She entered the room with a friendly smile, used little medical jargon, which improves communication for many, and was very approachable. If I were to stay in Orlando, she would be my primary care physician! Velez Family Health is located in Dr. Phillips in an office building. It's not visible from the parking lot, but if you walk down the hall of the north building, you'll find this clinic on the first floor past the restrooms.
