Naglee Moving & Storage moved my elderly mother from her home in Ithaca, NY to a retirement community called The Kendell in Ithaca. Tom the driver and his crew were amazing. They packed up everything including her antiques. When they delivered the entire truck, all went perfectly. NO DAMAGE. VERY POLITE WORKERS. Dispatcher Patrick kept me my mother informed every step of the way. The operations Manager even stopped by to make sure all went well. Very rude, after a reservation that was made weeks ago they said an attempt to call and let me know there was no truck available. Never got that message. Save yourself the time and rent a truck from a real truck rental place. read more

At the time I thought they were great, however when our shipment arrived, many of the boxes were busted, half opened, or just smashed and broken. They didn't wrap any of our couches or our child's beanbag chair. They put my signature on a document I never signed stating the condition of our furniture. I had an absurdly long review and it was lost so I'm going to boil it down. Pros -Friendly, on time, good communication Cons -Damaged walls, and said it wasn't covered by the contract -Refused to take apart furniture that I paid them for, and asked me to do it while they waited -expensive beyond belief. About 8000 for 4 hours of loading, 1 unloading, about 2-4 travel. And they made me take apart all furniture and pack everything. I have a feeling they charged for things they didn't do -repeatedly sat on my fabric furniture while covered in sweat -someone missed the toilet while going number 2 and left me to clean it up -some things were "too heavy" so I was asked to carry them myself, and I did, without issue. -when dropping off they dumped everything into two rooms because they didn't have time to put stuff in correct rooms. -Naglee driver was in the van most of the time and seemed to miss everything listed above Sorry, ran out of time so will have to add the rest at a later point. read more

This was my first time moving with a professional moving company and while I don't have much to compare to, I loved my experience and feel that it's incomparable. Naglee quickly did an in-home estimate that was accurate to the amount of 'stuff' I had, was efficient in packing the day of the move and was even more efficient when it came to unpacking the next day at my new residence. Their customer service is top notch. I couldn't be more happier with them and my move was stress free! read more

Like another review, my experience with this company on a cross-country move was awful. They no-showed on my moving day, and it took 3 more additional days for them to finally pick up my possessions. Though they had estimated my job in person, they were wrong about the size of the load and had to store a good portion of my goods. When the first of my household goods arrived, the driver did not employ a local crew and our son had to help the driver carry heavy items. Though I had signed up for a premium package, the late move reimbursement did not apply to me because they put my items in storage. Isn't that exactly what I had paid for? At every turn, the General Manager's response was that he had been doing this kind of work for thirty years. Evidently, totally failing a customer is negated by doing it for many years. Unlike the other review, I received only $1400 for my trouble, and that won't cover the damaged items or the two weeks of waiting for my household to arrive. I have never had this kind of trouble with a mover, and suggest you consider United Van Lines support of this local franchise's complete lack of regard for the customer. United Van Lines seems to be just as satisfied with poor customer service as Naglee Moving; choose your mover and moving company carefully. read more

Do not trust this company. Not reliable. Very customer unfriendly. Will keep changing delivery dates with excuses.

I have used them twice for domestic long distance move. Not happy about the fact that they had an ETA in their system for a particular day when my stuff was still in their warehouse, and no driver or pickup time was determined, let alone communicated. It eventually did all arrive, changing hands at least twice, with only 3 boxes damaged (all items fine). The local help is a bit of a hit and miss, some are great, others not so much. The ones that delivered were great and I would want to use them again. read more

DAMAGE EXTENSIVE - BUYER BEWARE!!!! I hired Naglee to move me on a long distance move. While packing, they ran out of time and had only packed about 3/4 of my home by 6:00 pm due to their underestimation of the amount of time and supplies it would take to properly pack my home . Instead of finishing the job the next morning, the packers were determined to make the drive that night and became very rushed with the remaining portion of my items. Consequently, when we unpacked upon arrival, there was $1,000s in damage. The items damaged were irreplaceable. Such a shame that people you pay above average market value to take care of your possessions treat other people's items with such an intentional disregard. read more

I've moved with a couple of different companies before through my jobs. Honestly, United Van Lines has truly been excellent as a company. The last movers I had not only broke things, but upon planning my move forgot to include my car. I ended up having to drive half way across the U.S. instead of flying like I had planned. The coordinator of this move was fantastic, the packers did an excellent job, and the people who physically moved my things were professional, timely and careful. I greatly appreciated their work and I'd definitely recommend it to a friend. read more

I have upgraded Naglee from a "1" to a "2", because I received a damage settlement check in the amount of $8,169 from Unico and it was processed relatively timely. This firm is the holding company that owns United Van Lines, and several other transportation companies such as Mayflower. I learned that once a damage claim exceeds $5,000, it has to be reviewed and authorized by staff at the holding company. Based on my past experience I have the following observations: 1) the damage incurred on this move exceed that experienced in eight prior long distance moves (and one of those was pretty bad); 2) The time to resolve the damage claim in this case was relatively speedy--about six weeks. The claims agent at Unico was courteous and relatively helpful. One of the lower level staff at Naglee was quite concerned about my experience, but the senior management and owner never contacted me to apologize, nor did the agent who initially visited my home and told me that Naglee would do a great job. So, I guess this ends up being a favorable review on how the holding company settled the claim and a negative review on the Naglee franchise. The moving business is fraught with poor service, but I think you can do better with another firm. read more

Just wanted to update this review because there has been a sequence of events after the posting of the first review that would solidify Naglee and United Van Lines as companies not to deal with. Shelly(sp.) in response to my first review responds by asking me to call her. Optics of this are great especially since she posts on yelp in response to my review. So I call only to find out she has nothing to offer other than to suggest changes to United and Naglee but offers no real value. Additional waste of more of my time! After I communicate in great detail the level of incompetency that I have been dealing with she offers to ask if there is more that Naglee or United is willing to do. Promises to get back to me asap the following week. Spoiler alert!!! She never called back. It wasnt until I called twice over a week later that she states, "I was just about to call you." Plausible....yes but highly unlikely. She then goes on to claim that I will be awarded an additional $100 and that she will send it out right away. Mind you I understand not life changing money at this point but I am content with moral victories at this stage of the game. Fast forward to the second week in February.......I have not received any additional check or correspondence. I have had to move several times and by far these guys treated me the best. The estimate for my latest move was almost spot on and I can't find anything that was damaged. My vintage stereo equipment made it in one piece and that alone was worth the cost. Thanks guys! read more

With a weeks notice, this company tried to tell us they had to move our date, and then when we told them we were unable to change our move date (we had already given out date three months prior to this), they told us "oh dont worry about it, we are all set to go". Or so we thought.....they handed our move to "Helping hands" out of ithaca, which is a college based moving company. They showed up with a small rented Budget truck. Clearly our three story home was not going to fit in this truck. We called our agent, Ryan Marsh, from Naglee moving company, and he would not answer our phone call, nor would he return our phone calls or texts. The college boys got two more helpers and rented another budget truck, and they just barely fit our house into the trucks. Ryan had told us our floors would be lined, our furniture would be covered, and that he knew these movers personally and that they were good people. These guys had no idea who Ryan even was. Everything Ryan Marsh from Naglee moving company told us, was a lie. He handed our move to a college group and then would not take any responsibility for what he did. He had been to our house THREE times!!!! The last time being a week before our move to tell us we were all set and "good to go". Needless to say, professionals did not move us, thus ending up with every pieces of furniture being damaged. Every piece! We have pictures of everything! Our leather couches are all torn up and have marks everywhere. Dressers are all scratched. One tables was completely destroyed. And to this day, we have not heard a word from Ryan. We contacted the Vice President of Naglee, who in the beginning was pleasant to talk to and told us he would get to the bottom of this, etc. He ever suggested that he may do a three way call with him, us and Ryan, so that Ryan could formally apologize for what he had done. We have not heard back from either of them. We are simply left with all of our furniture being damaged. I would NOT under any circumstances use this business! read more
