I pretty much grew up on the field and it within walking distance from my house so I still come back to throw baseball or whatever. And they do have a bathroom if that matters to you. Also, there aren't a lot of strange people hanging around the park, like you get at most other parks.

CLEAN floors, nice basketball rims and full glass backboards, bleachers are pulled out to sit on and to put your stuff. I used to play here back in my late teens and early 20s when I used to visit and had a great time back then and am happy that things haven't changed much. There is a good group of dudes not in their 20s (thankfully) that play on a regular basis and who all seem to know each other. I've been three times in the last week and will continue to come here as much as I can for the rest of my time here. I'm thankful to have free gym access. They keep the air con on in the gym to cool it down a bit and there are also bathrooms and a water fountain with a bottle filling option. Mahalo to all who keep the gym in great shape!!

My son loves coming here, we bring a big bag of oats and feed the ducks, chickens, and birds. Be careful though as the birds go CRAZY here. The moment you throw some food, they come flying in droves. Haha so if you are not a bird person, forget bringing feed, haha. Right now there are 3 cute ducklings and a handful of baby chicks. So tiny and cute. The pond also has a bunch of Koi fish and fat tilapias. Great little spot to relax, small picnic, and get some fun feeding animals. Across the street is also a park with a playground and basketball courts.

First review if 2024!…read more I brought my kids here just days after they saw the movie ' Migration'! They absolutely loved being here at the springs, I know, because they didn't even want to leave when I offered to take them to the playground just across the street. They looooved seeing the ducks and koi fish most! The pigeons were a bit much. We had sat in the little bleacher looking area, but had to move because all the pigeons started pooping after some kids fed them... I brought then to the Kunawai Springs specifically because I knew about the ducks, although I hadn't been here before! We had so much fun though! We're doing a 1000 hours outside challenge this year, 2024, so I've been looking into different outdoor activities for our family to partake in! We'll definitely be coming back here, the kids enjoyed it so much. Coming here brought back so much memories for many of our family members. I brought the kiddos here, took lots of pictures, and when I posted them, they all messaged me that they used to all come here when they were younger, and used to even swim I the pond?!?! A great place for a family…read morepicnic, for a stroll to do some casual bird watching or just to enjoy the beautiful plants in this huge Hawaiian garden. On the day we visited, there was a local art show exhibiting some talented local artists' paintings. The weather was perfect, and we spent a little time exploring the beautiful grounds. There seems to be lots of events here, including fishing in the reservoir and meetings in the garden's headquarters. I wish I had had a full day to explore the Hoomaluhia Botanical Gardens or lived closer to the park to visit more frequently. But even in the short time I had, I got a sense of things - the serenity and peace that envelopes you as you wander about and explore. I highly recommend a visit when you want some unwinding time. I came for the first time last Saturday to watch Bud play soccer. Last year they played their…read moreseason at a much larger park which had limited parking. This park is right next to a school so their parking lot plus another one with steps across the way are used or street parking is another option. If you lug a cart with your chairs, umbrella(s) and mini cooler of chilled bottled water and/or spam musubi, etc.it's more convenient to maneuver your haul by parking at the school. The good thing about this park is that only 2 games are going on simultaneously vs 3. Fortunately there is ample shade on both sides to keep the fans from overdose of UV rays or heat stroke. Our team's practice was after 11 a.m. so the kiddies were playing in the heat of the day. Amazing how they can run back and forth across the field in that temperature. Just so happened there was someone close by intermittently playing Jawaiian type music so that was cool. The field was not muddy or overgrown, just dry so that was appreciated plus close enough and easy to walk to. AUWE to the person from the team before who left their orangey peels on the ground without taking their OPALA away with them. Gotta remember to live aloha.

The parking lot isn't a long walk from anywhere at the park. There's many reasons why we like this park. The playground is small kid friendly. If you're a parent to littles, you know what I mean. There's basketball and volleyball courts, baseball fields, and sooo much space. Ready for my two absolute FAVORITE things about this park...? The SWINGS! And the biiig BANYAN TREE! Those two things are what makes this park so unique. The Banyan tree is amazing, and if you're someone, like me, that takes your kids to different park and playgrounds almost weekly, you'll know there are very, very few parks here that have swings. :)

Wide open field for teams to practice. I only saw owners walking their pets on the perimeter. We brought chairs to sit on to sit and watch their practice. To me it's so amazing to watch the sky change color and mood during sunset which on that particular day on 12/6/24 was between 5:45 pm and 6 pm. The end of their practice they played shark and minnow with another team 4 years older than them. They had a blast. Capturing that moment in time was very special.

6-5-21 E N O R M O U S park that can host several games at one time. Today was our first visit…read morehere as it was the last games of the soccer season for both of our grandkiddies. Bud's team and challengers played their hearts out and ran as fast as their little legs could go. Just having their feet make contact with the ball thrilled onlookers. Little Sweetie's team took champs and played two games after a practice practically non stop. Talk about stamina!!! By this age you can see who definitely has skill and the talent of both teams is amazing to watch. There are restrooms at the entrance of the park. The field is vast as it is hot and dry. These things came in handy if you are a spectator: chair, umbrella for shade, sunglasses and perhaps even a hat or visor. Definitely bring a cooler with chilled bottled water as the sun's heat is merciless. Don't forget the sunscreen cuz there are no trees to shade yourself on the perimeter of the playing field. What helped was those water spray bottles to mist your family or if you are fortunate to have an Air Wiz or two that runs on ice with 3 AA batteries to provide some cooler air like an electric fan. This park is well maintained, mowed and appeared rock or pebble free for any bumps or falls to the ground. Glad it was in a residential area with lots of parking. As soon as our soccer games ended with medals and trophies awarded, another set of youngsters were up at bat for their games. Hope all the kiddies stay safe and well as the majority of players and fans were maskless. Hopefully being outdoors in a close contact youth sport helps.
