The service we requested was to have our short driveway, patched and seal coated. The service we actually received was no patching, seal coating, covering sidewalks, landscape rocks, splashed up onto our white, newly painted garage door, seeping underneath our garage door and staining the interior floor. The day the work was done. It was overcast windy with low barometric pressure. Mehenna, who was the person sent to do this work called me twice to tell me that he "made a mess!" Thecontractor at the house at the time told me Mehenna was ruining the property, and I asked him to tell Mehenna to stop. He did not stop the work. Then it rained 30 minutes later and all of the seal coating washed off. Despite me relaying all this information to Nail It Handyman, they have yet to refund our money or pay for the work we had to have done on the garage floor to repair the damage. JOB: Cutting the front and back of a large 1.4 acre property 1. They claimed they would RENT a sit down mower in ADVANCE of the job. 2. Guy showed up without the rental mower. 3. Went home ( 1 hour each way) to get a small push mower that lacked gasoline. 4. David is said to be an apprentice and proved to me he was not skilled at caulking. Caulking was oozing out of his caulk gun. Got all over my freshly painted deck and carpet in my porch. This company was horrible to work with. They told me one price and charged me over double of the agreed upon amount, taking an additional $600 out of my bank account. Trying to get in touch with someone to rectify the issue was impossible. A call center is the only people that answer and they promise a call back within 48 hrs which never happened. To date I still don't have all of my money back and my only course of action was to put a claim in with my bank. I would never recommend or use this company again. read more

I contacted mail it handyman to put up Christmas lights on roof & shrubs. I contracted for 2 hours & if need be ,could extend. I had to reserve with credit card . I was told handyman would arrive between 8-9 am on Monday 11/13. I did receive text that morning that tech would arrive between 8-9, then another text at 8, saying tech on way . The link to track his progress wasn't working then . I texted eta? But no response . At 9:30, link worked & said tech 58 minutes away. Tech rung my doorbell at 10:30. I brought him to garage & gave him directions oral & written & 1st 3 sets of lights for roof. He received call from family member with a problem , then another few calls concerning personal problem. He started up ladder at 11. I called & left message stating my dis-satisfaction with lateness & personal calls while on the clock for this job. Over next 40 minutes , I checked on tech & he was standing still on roof & speaking on cell. I had to leave for an appointment, so I asked him amount to write out check for 2hours with tax & discount for paying with check. He had to call office to get amount. When I gave to him, he said aren't you going to pay for extra hours so I can do all the lights? I said no & left. By 12:20 , he triggered my ring doorbell as he was removing ladder to leave. When I got home to check lights placed, I saw that he didn't use hooks previously placed to clip on lights which resulted in lights not being seen & in other areas some lights are pointing up & some down. Nail It Handy Man Looks on the outside!; they're very persuasive; and talk a good game! I'm a disable senior citizen on a fixed income!; and I trusted them with my very last! They completed nothing on the invoice; and did shady work on my home! I was ashamed to let anybody in, because I was so embarrassed! They were supposed to paint my kitchen white; and painted half dark gray! then I said who paints a kitchen dark gray! I said leave the bottom gray; and make the top white! They couldn't do that correct! They messed up my ceiling with gray paint marks! They half did my dining room! Left that in a complete mess! This company took my debit card, charged it and did no service. I followed up because I advised, in advance, that I would have the work done sooner if I could. I emailed them and very nicely thanked them for their assistance but I was able to get the work done. They charged me $165, acknowledged that they charged me and that I had cancelled and now won't respond to any emails. Believe me it's not the money, but it certainly is the principle. I needed to have my deck door lock fixed, the door was hard to slide back and forth. I also needed the screen door fixed. The handyman (Andre) tried fixing the door but the door was still unable to be locked. The screen door had a tear, and he went to HD to get a piece of plexiglass to repair it. the plexiglass had to be screwed into the frame of the screen door. The plexiglass cracked due to the screwing it in - it looked awful. I complained and they send another handyman(Tom?), who tried to do the same thing to the door but he decided to go HD to buy new screen door which he did. However the main deck door is still not working. These guys go to Home Depot and take their time and never bring back a receipt of what they bought nor do they ask you for your opinion. However the company was fast to charge me over $733. Never again will I use this company. read more

STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. They are incompetent if not unethical as well. They booked me for 4 hours from 1-5 in the afternoon. Once they got my cc information, I got a video notice says that I should allow "up to 1 hour" for the handyman to arrive. At 2:30 I placed a call to Nailtit handyman (BTW Customer Service never answered the phone on 3 attempts) asking where was the worker and when was he going to arrive. He said he'd find out and call right back. At 3 PM I placed yet another call since I had received NO information. At that time I was told the worker was "just Leaving" his previous job in a city 45 minutes away. I told them to forget about it. That it was unacceptable and to tell the worker the job was canceled. Low and behold, the worker still shows up around 3:40PM. He was oblivious even to the nature of the work as I explained his company should have notified him NOT TO COME. I should have never signed vouching he was there since no useful work was done. I fought it with my credit card company and they say because I signed that he was there they could not stop funds to them. Who's ever paid for a dishwasher installation and never got it completed but was charged??? Unheard of! They made no attempts to remedy the situation, instead blocked my number, I think. Stay away from Nail It Handyman if you value money and quality of work. Nail It Handyman originally quoted 4 hours to install a door frame, door, and wainscoting to an already finished basement. The actual time was seven days and seven different workers to complete the job. The time to complete the job was way over the estimate we were originally told and way over the budget we anticipated for the job. The quality of work not only makes for an unsightly finished basement, but dangerous too. The finished spakling around the door frame looks like a bad case of acne with all the pits and pockets. The wainscoting was installed unevenly and the spakling left on it for me to take care of when the job was gone. As for workers, we had seven different ones over a week and half to complete the job. This required explaining the job over and over again. Also, additional time was spent by one worker to fix the sheetrock installed by another worker the day before. The egregious part by Nail It Handyman includes a wall socket and protruding nails. A wall socket removed to install the wainscoting was not secured to the wall after completion of the wainscoting. It came off the wall when I plugged in my vacuum to clean up the mess at the end of the day. When I pointed out the wall socket to a worker the next day, he seemed surprised by it and blamed it on another worker who was with him the day before. This response indicated to me that had I not found the unsecured wall socket, it would have remained that way after the workers were done. Just like the nails they left protruding through the woodwork. I am now left having to deal with these nails before someone gets hurt by them. DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY. I hired Nail It Handyman to replace a wall A/C unit. The young fellow that came had no experience whatsoever, couldn't co the job!. He called the company to get a technician. In the meantime the clock was ticking while we were waiting for the 2nd guy to come about 1 1/2 hours. Then they went both off to Home Depot to buy some molding to complete the installation, it took them over 1 1/2 hours to come back. At the end they over charged me instead of 2 1/2 working hours they charged 6 hours, a rip off! In addition, I was not satisfied with the job. Also, they used my signature that I signed off the job and inserted it into an invoice. They don't give you right away the invoice. You give them your credit card and they charge whatever they want. They quoted me one price which was agreed to be paid in cash at the time of completing the job. Our experience was horrible, we were told it would be a half day job no problem. The worker came and did extremely shoddy work that didn't meet the scope of work that was agreed upon - he was supposed to repair some drywall and prep it for tiling. The end result was unbelievable - there were screws sticking out of the wall, drywall was crooked and not level, entire areas had no spackle at all, other areas had spackle clumped on about 3/4th of an inch thick! He left and said nothing about coming back, but once we had a good look at his work we saw it was unacceptable. We contacted Nailit to let them know about the issues we had with the project and we were only given the option of them scheduling another TWO visits to the house to "complete" the project. This was supposed to be a half day project, and does not need three visits to our house to complete. It took use five hours to correct his work. Either the guy who gave the initial consult doesn't know what he's talking about or the worker is completely incompetent with no regard for good work. Either way these guys suck. read more

Stay away from these guys, far away. I ask them to do two things. one was to replace a wooden white picket fence that had rotted with a vinyl one. The "handyman" had to do some cutting and needed a certain saw blade. The other job was to fill in around a concrete patio since it was crumbling. The guy obviously didn't know how to work with concrete. So the way they work is to have their people decide what materials they would need, go to Home Depot and get them. It was supposed to be an hour but it was closer to two which I was paying for. He bought the saw blade, 200 lbs of concrete for a job needing 25 lbs, chicken wire which he didn't need, trowels which he should have had, an energy drink and a 4x8 plywood sheet to lay on while he was doing the work. He ended up keeping almost everything he bought. I asked the company to have him come back and take the excess concrete, chicken wire and a few other things back to Home Depot and get my money back. I never got it back. And the concrete job? He lumped it on, hardly smoothed it and then told me if he did the whole thing, the patio would collapse. Really? I just wanted him to go. I emailed he company and told them about the experience. They said they were sorry I felt that way. No offer or attempt to make it right like almost any other company would do. I'm putting my house up for sale and now I'll have to pay more money to have the patio done right. Oh yeah, he didn't clean up after himself. Oh where do i begin. First off, I was drawn in by the weekly emails that gave 10-15% off. Spoke to the supervisor to schedule appointment and I gave the supervisor a list of things I needed done. I read the 4.9 Google reviews and thought I would be dealing with a reputable company. I should have checked other review sites. I hired Nail It Handyman for 8 hrs at a flat rate of $594 (approx). They immediately put a hold on my cc for $650 but was told it would be adjusted once work completed. My laundry list of items were: install bathroom fan, install recessed medicine cabinet, install vanity lights and hang interior doors. I was told this could be completed in the 8 hrs I paid for. Friday, 2/5/21 the tech from Nail It arrived at 9:08. Right away he told me he usually leaves at 2:30 on Friday because his boss is Jewish and closes the shop by 3pm. I said why didn't someone tell me this before I booked a Friday. The tech then said he would stay and finish the work. After agreeing to stay late, I asked the tech what bathroom fan we should get. We wanted a quiet one. I said my husband can run to Lowes if you let him know what kind to buy. The tech started reading the directions for the medicine cabinet and saw he would need 2x4's to recess the cabinet. He then told us he needed to go to Home Depot to get the 2x4's and he would pick up the fan at the same time. I reluctantly agreed. I knew this would all be on my dime. I suggested to the tech that he go to the Home Depot closer to my house and I thought that was where he was going. The tech left for Home Depot at 9:25am and returned at 11:18am and sat in the truck in my driveway until 11:24. Almost exactly 2 hours. I found out the he went to the HD in Paramus - 10 miles away, 20 minute ride. So this Home Depot trip and the 6 minutes sitting in my driveway cost me about $160. AND he returned with no 2x4's. Said HD did not have!!!!!!! Prior to the tech returning to my house, I called the office to find out what was taking him so long. Of course you get a call center who then transfers the call to the office. Several hours later and after the tech was already back at my house, the supervisor from the office called me back. I told him we called to find out where the tech was because he was taking too long at HD and that he wanted to leave at 2:30pm. The supervisor said no he could stay. Tell him. I said no, you tell him. That's your job. I was told if the tech doesn't finish we could send him back on Monday. I said absolutely not. I was told these items could be finished in 8 hrs I was not paying any more $$. The supervisor offered 20% off the 8 hr price. The tech then told me he would stay. It was at this time I tipped him $60 for staying past his work hours for a Friday. Well, he installed the bathroom fan. It was installed correctly but it wasn't the fan I wanted. Not quiet at all. Then he went onto the installation of the doors. That's when the problem started. As you can see in the pictures the doors where chipped away at when the tech was trying to install the hinges. He didn't finish the job and left at 2:30. So I was given a total of 5.5 hrs of work minus the 2 hrs at HD. No other work was performed. I noticed over the weekend that I was being billed $650. I assumed the hold was still on cc for this amount but I was going to call the office on Monday to make sure I was not billed incorrectly. I spoke to the owner Jacob and he got belligerent when I suggested that I should be charged for only 2 hrs of work. He said he would need to send a supervisor over to inspect. I said no need for inspection I could send you pictures. I told Jacob that tech left at 2:30 and he said no, he log out at 4:12. I told Jacob I have a doorbell camera that will show all proof of times. Jacob said there is GPS on all trucks. I said ok. But I still was not paying for 8 hrs of work when I should be charged only 2. I told Jacob that I would dispute the charge on the cc and he started yelling at me that he was going to put a lien on my house if I did that and if I wanted to "work with him" he would call me back in the afternoon after speaking with the tech. I never got the call. What I did get was an invoice for $577.79 ($109.81 for the fan and a charge of $438.90 (with 20% discount) for labor to install a fan/light and hang 2 doors incorrectly.) Jacob insisted that he was going to get a hold of tech and if I wanted to "work with him" to give him to the afternoon to get back to me with what he found out. I called my cc company and found out that the $650 hold was turned into a charge for services. So not only did they overcharge me for installing a fan/light but the invoice and charge does not match up. I tried calling and was told by the answering service someone would get back to me within 24-48 hours. I had a horrible experience with Nail it Handyman: 1. Ralph made 10 holes in the wall (when only 4 were needed) and when the mirror was hung, there were still visible nail holes left next to the mirror. 2. He installed the microwave crooked. 3. While installing the microwave, he scratched our laminate kitchen floors with the step stool, even though I had nicely told him beforehand that our floors scratch easily and to please be careful. 4. He hung up a large painting and it was not at all centered with the wall - and when I nicely told him that, he was unprofessional and kept making comments insinuating how over the top and anal I was being - as if asking for things to be hung straight was a big ask. 5. He hung up a mail holder for us and upon closer inspection after he left, it is also crooked. 6. He just generally had a negative attitude and gave us the sense that he didn't want to work too hard, said he was "too old to be doing this", and had a bad back, and he made it seem like we had too many requests and that he wanted to leave early. I had told Tom over the phone that we had a bunch of projects to be done, and I thought we were paying for a full 7-8 hours of work, but then Ralph said he was going to leave at 2:30, but by 1pm told us he already started saying he was done, and although he actually left by 1:30. Technically he came at 8:47 and left at 1:23 - so just under 5 hours of work even though we had more he wanted to get done! This was really misleading, not to mention over 45 of those minutes were him at Home Depot - AND literally he came back saying he didn't get everything he needed to hang our mirrors/painting properly! 7. Some of the things we asked him to do, he basically told us we should do ourselves, for example fix our leaking showerhead. I also asked him about replacing a missing toilet seat hinge and his response was to buy a new toilet, when clearly that was unnecessary. ...And after many voicemails/emails left, we never heard back when we requested a refund. read more

Had 3 fairly minor jobs - install a new mailbox, assemble and attach a headboard, retrofit and install an exterior vent cover. I don't know what qualifications their "handymen" are required to have, but the company clearly will hire anyone. All 3 jobs were sub-par. The screws in the mailbox are crooked, and one is missing (I found it on the ground), he didn't use any of the rubber washers on the headboard so it squeaks when I walk by it (it's a metal headboard), and the vent cover was attached with wires since he couldn't make it fit. This was after they were running over an hour late the day before and never called to let me know. I had to call them to see where they were and they seemed surprised I wasn't willing to wait. Terrible experience. Wasted so much of my time with phone calls, emails and text messages. All the work I wanted done was clearly discussed ahead of time and written in an invoice emailed to me. Some of the jobs were for the handyman to come to my home and take down old shutters and put up new shutters, go on my lower roof and seal the skylights and go on both roofs and clean the gutters. They pre-charged my credit card for almost $500 for four hours work. On the day of the supposed service, the very nice handyman shows up and tells me "I don't have a ladder so I can't do the work." I called the office and cancelled since no work was done. I gave the handyman a bottle of water and a tip for his trouble. A little bit later, he's at my door with a guy on the phone telling him to tell me he's "going to charge me" and that the handyman can go to Home Depot and get a ladder to do the job!! I told him him absolutely not since I'm on vacation and planned on all work being done in 4 hours and had to be somewhere. What a circus act!! Who sends a worker to a job without a ladder when the job is specifically for going on the roof?? I filed a dispute with my credit card company, I'm so upset at their scam practices, that if I have to I will go tot Court to get my money back, they are terrible...WASTE OF TIME read more

Dishonest businessmen!!! They give you one price then charge you a higher price at the end. Do not trust their quotes. Do yourself a favor and find a more honest handyman service. Trust me!! read more
