After searching the area on Yelp for a nail place in the area we settled on this place. Located in the downtown area of Manistee so plan on street parking or if you are doing shopping and park in a lotted area you may have to walk to it. They do acrylic, gel, and shellac here. As per previous post they do have a Mani/Pedi special. Since I was only looking to have my nails doing opted out of that. We were seated right away. They had 5 nail techs on hand. The young lady who did my nails was very nice as well as the gentleman who did my daughters. They both were very attentive. M-FR it looks like they are open from 10 am - 7 pm Saturday until 5 pm. If you do have to wait there are plenty of shops to see that can take up your time. read more

Solid experience. Although the foot bath plastic kind of confuses me. They cover the pedicure bowls with plastic but it didn't look like the change them between clients? I called and made an appointment the day before. I walked in for my appointment and I was greeted promptly and very welcoming by Eric and Tina. The salon was buzzing... very busy. I waited just a few minutes and was taken back to have my dip removed by a very sweet lady. After that Jane came over to do my dip she was very quiet but sweet and extremely efficient. Jane did a very beautiful nail dip on me I was very pleased. The price was right on point. I am new to the area in Fountain. I will definitely make Nails2000 my new nail salon! Had gel nails done Saturday August 9th. One nail had small tear which employee put glue on. 2 days later, color off that area and tear open again. Went in Tuesday morning and they fixed it charging me another $5. Excuse was because they used powder on it which cost more. I told them I wished I hadn't given original nail tech a $5 tip. I called and asked if I could be fit in for a full set and gel pedicure and was able to be accommodated. Manicure was great. When it came time for the pedicure, I was left waiting for 30-40 minutes with no one updating me on when I was going to get service. Ok that's fine, I was a walk in. I put my feet in the pedicure bowl and the man in charge snapped at me to get them out until the water was filled up. Ok?? Pedicure ended up taking a full hour (plus the wait time) and the woman tore up my feet, ripped chunks of skin off my toes until I bled, painted them terribly and I left looking worse than I did when I came in. My two-year-old nephew could have done a better job. I didn't want to be rude so I paid and left but called after to request a refund on the pedicure because this was such a horrible experience. I was told I could get half of my money back because of the time and services that they provided which is fine with me, I should have said something before I left but I will not be back. read more

I am from California and my husband's friend recommended this salon. Pretty happy with the service. I had an appointment and 1pm and when I arrived they took me right away. The mani/pedi I had was well done. A decent selection of colors. I wasn't thrilled with the cleanliness. The mani area was not cleaned before I sat down. I don't think the instruments are disinfected between clients. When I was having my pedicure done she washed them in the water my feet were in and wiped with the towel my feet were on. Sometimes you need to send the menfolk off to do whatever it is that menfolk do alone (eat things, shoot shit, bitch about womenfolk, sleep, masturbate - all wild guesses). For women, alone time is often spent at nail salons, sometimes with other women. It's the perfect place to gossip and get pampered. For about an hour or so, you can step back from reality and be waited on hand and foot or, more accurately, have your hands and feet waited on. My friend and I spotted this nail salon and saw that services were reasonably priced at $25 for a pedicure and $35 for a mani-pedi combo. The salon is closed Sundays, so we popped in on Saturday afternoon and they told us they could see the both of us if we waited half an hour. We walked around town, returned shortly, and we were seated in the massive massage chairs moments later. As is typically expected, our nail technicians were Asian (Vietnamese, I believe). But as is not so often found, they spoke near-perfect English. I was able to explain what I wanted once and only had to be asked a few particular preferences a single time. It made the experience that much more relaxing, because neither of us had to strain to understand the other. It might be a small thing, but it made a big difference. I went for the mani-pedi and my friend simply had her toes done. My technician started on me first and my friend was able to soak her feet for an entire half hour. When they moved me to the manicure station, another tech worked on my friend. They did an excellent job of scheduling, because starting her pedicure later meant that we finished up at about the same time. We both agreed that Nails 2000 isn't the most modern or sterile of salons, but we weren't afraid of contracting anything. They kept it clean and tidy, and each tech had their own set of tools that were immediately disinfected after use. We also loved (and were embarrassed) that they used the cheese grater-like scraper to get most of the dead skin off our soles. I would have liked that they removed more dead skin from around my fingernails, but I admittedly have been neglecting my hands and don't expect miracles. Also, we felt the selection of nail polish was very good. They had a super selection of shades from OPI, China Glaze, and a few other brands. OPI's Magnifico México is the perfect polish for a magnificent summer manicure. read more

I stopped in as a last minute decision and was seated immediately, they did a decent job with my nails, though the thumb has a bump on it I noticed later in the day. The thing that irritated me and moved them down to a 3 is my nail tech talked on the phone almost the whole time, even while she painted my nails. Its bad enough when they talk w/ each other in a foreign language while doing your nails, but to talk on the phone the whole time is just plain crazy. I don't care what job you do talking on a cell phone should no be allowed while your working. SAVE IT FOR A BREAK TIME or step away if its emergency. read more

I love supporting local businesses, but this place unfortunately didn't give me the greatest manicure. The manicurist was really rough with my hands/nails even after requesting him to not file too much on *top* of the nails (lots of digging, pulling, etc. Nothing aggressive, but just a little painful at times). I got a gel/shellac manicure. While it looked great upon finishing, it started chipping and peeling off on 3 nails two days later. It's now 5 days later and I have two chipped nails and two other nails completely peeled off. Not sure if it was the brand used, but severely disappointed considering it's supposed to last 2+ weeks. For $30, I expected a bit better. Overall, everyone is very nice and accommodating (I unfortunately didn't have time to go back in for a fix). But I wouldn't come here again. I live locally and this is where my sisters have gone for years :) I get my nails done here everytime. I love that there is a reasonable waiting time if any at all! I always get a mani/pedi deal so i'm seated on these large massage machines first and offered a free beverage (soda, water, etc.). The ladies (or single man) who do my feet work always ask if it's too rough, hot, etc. They understand English and speak it very well so it makes it easy for a conversation. I enjoy watching the talking shows they put on the television just so it's not an awkward silent 30min if they don't talk. When I get my manicure I usually ask for Tina (she's been my sisters and I's favorite person working there) or the man. It's usually quiet with the man but the others sometime start a conversation ;) My nails look very nice when finished and the prices for the work done I feel is definitely worth it! Very child friendly as well so younger siblings or your own children may love this place. They carry many options! read more

Needed nails done for a job interview. Friends had turned me on to dip nails and came here for a neutral color. The brush the technician used to brush excess sip color off between layers had another color on it when starting. You could tell what finger was started first and follow the fade across rest of that hand. Said something to tech about the color and was ignored. I came in chose my shellac nail design which was blue with a 3D effect. nail tech did a great job removing my shellac and they painted my nails with pink sparkle gel. Don't bother to pick what you want because they'll apparently just give you what they want to, I gave them two stars because they're equipment was sterile and he did do a decent job on my nails. read more
