Was clear about referral, front desk advised this particular tech does not take appointments but only walk ins and was advised to come in. Upon coming in and being walked to chair, a few minutes passed and the receptionist informed me the male nail tech will not provide service because I am a male. After an uncomfortable and awkward conversation for clarification, I left while the nail tech was squatting in front of the building smoking a cigarette. I Have received service from both male/female techs over the years and it's a common service but called for this tech after a referral. I couldn't care less regardless of gender, but principle makes a difference. The owner responded implying it was a strange request. The nail tech & owner seem to sexual this basic hygienic service with their choice of words. Words that are both bizarre, alarming and quite short sighted considering we should look past the profession of a nail tech as a female associated profession. Nonetheless I would not want to receive a service from someone who feels uncomfortable doing their job. Awful communication, no accountability & extremely ignorant & shallow frame of mind in regard to running a business. I will not be returning and neither will the coworker who recommend him.
