Today was my first time at NT Nail Spa. I came in a little nervous because I've tried a handful of nail salons in Modesto and have not been fully satisfied with any! The person that took care of me was OUTSTANDING! From service to accommodation, attention to detail and communication (because at most places they won't actually conversate with you, but amongst each other). His work was great, he helped me match the color from a Pinterest image I had. He was taking his time working on me even though there was a couple of other customers walking in, he didn't make me feel rushed. My 4 year old daughter had her hands painted with regular polish for $7 by a different person. At check out I was rung out by a different man, he asked "how much tip for two?" Which I didn't like because I'm a believer of tips being earned and not a mandatory from customers.. it just didn't feel right for him to ask directly like that. Mind you, I'm already prepared to tip both of them separately with cash, Besides the check out, I had a good experience and do plan to return! Called and spoke to front desk associate after being referred by coworker to see male tech for service. Was clear about referral, front desk advised this particular tech does not take appointments but only walk ins and was advised to come in. Upon coming in and being walked to chair, a few minutes passed and the receptionist informed me the male nail tech will not provide service because I am a male. After an uncomfortable and awkward conversation for clarification, I left while the nail tech was squatting in front of the building smoking a cigarette. I Have received service from both male/female techs over the years and it's a common service but called for this tech after a referral. I couldn't care less regardless of gender, but principle makes a difference. The owner responded implying it was a strange request. The nail tech & owner seem to sexual this basic hygienic service with their choice of words. Words that are both bizarre, alarming and quite short sighted considering we should look past the profession of a nail tech as a female associated profession. Nonetheless I would not want to receive a service from someone who feels uncomfortable doing their job. Awful communication, no accountability & extremely ignorant & shallow frame of mind in regard to running a business. I will not be returning and neither will the coworker who recommend him. read more

I had a really disappointing experience here due to how unprofessional one of the staff members was. I came in with my daughter for a manicure and pedicure. When it was time for my daughter's manicure, they assigned a staff member who was extremely rude and clearly did not want to do my daughter's nails. She made it obvious through her attitude and then told the nail tech who was doing my nails to do my daughter's instead. At that point, I told them it was okay and that we wouldn't be doing my daughter's manicure anymore because the experience had already become uncomfortable. Afterward, the nail tech who worked on me came out and apologized for her coworker's behavior, which I appreciated, but the situation should never have happened in the first place. I expect professionalism and basic kindness, especially when it comes to children. Unfortunately, this experience left a bad impression, and I will not be returning. read more

I initially came here a month ago, and they did a fantastic job by keeping the powder on my nails as I was trying to grow them out. But yesterday was a completely different story--they trimmed my nails down to nothing, making me look like a little boy. They removed all the powder and insisted I needed a full set with gel to achieve the look I wanted. When I asked if they could simply add a little powder and tips for my event and slowly transition my nails back to their original beds over time, I was rudely told, "No, we don't do that here!" What's frustrating is they did do exactly that during my previous visit! It's clear they only care about squeezing more money out of you and not about your happiness or the appearance of your nails. Then I told them I wanted to get a design (which was so simple and basic) and the lady doing my nails couldn't even do that. I told her it's fine to not bother with the design. I got them done Wednesday 07/02, and I drove by today 07/04 to get them fixed, of course it's closed. The tech was friendly, but all the stations and the entire place was unorganized and filthy. The tech used clearly dirty tools on my hands. The file still had residue from previous clients and all he did was tap the desk to dust it off the nail file. This is the second time coming here, and the first time I wasn't impressed and only came here because it was on my way home and decided to give them another chance. This was my first time trying this location. I went on a Monday around 5:30 and left at closing, with a gel pedicure & French tip acrylic manicure. I spend $121, plus tipped both women $10. So in total it was $141. I am a mom of 3 under 5 & I work on the weekends. So finding ANY time for me.. is rare. Anyways. I kept getting dirt, food I was preparing, everything & anything was getting stuck under my nails and ew! It was so gross and time consuming. Then I realized my nail & the white tip were not even touching in many spots of my nails! Practically all of them, my pinkies were fine. So I had my natural gap, between my skin & real nail. Plus, a gap between the white acrylic nail & real nail. Only time I could go back was 4 days later, Friday, around the same time. Surly, they would see this isn't right & take them off. I didn't even want them to redo them, just take them off, for free. I truly didn't think they would try to charge me again. I was very very very wrong. Completely different experience when asking for them to take off nails, for free. A younger man, who works in the front. He loudly asked me who had done my nails, so I could get them off for free. I looked directly at her and she literally gave me deer in headlight look. So I felt bad, got scared for HER. I have no idea.. he was mean, so idk if he is going to retaliate later ?? So I said I don't remember. He then got mad about that and kept asking. A lady had to come between us and talked to him and she looked at my nails. Probably saw they were lifting & he told me to have a seat. So I did. He then checked out another customer and the girl who did my nails must have told him it was her because he then went right to her. Talked to her and came back to me to tell me that my nails were "outgrown" After 4 days? I wish! Lol.. I wouldn't even need acrylic nails then! Anyways. I went back and forth with this man and girl.. about my nails. Getting them taken off for free... they kept giving me the run around, so big picture, I see did not want to help me at this point. And I sure as heck will not tolerate being treated like that... so absolutely will I NOT be paying them any more money from my wallet to just take off what wasn't put on right. I went down the street.. paid $20 to get them taken off $10 for the service, plus a $10 tip because they didn't turn me away & were nice! I hate confrontation of any kind. So I wasn't expecting the employee's here to treat me so bad at NT on sisk. I give multiple chances, and would have came back believe it or not. Because I know!! We all have bad days. Me too. I would have came back for pedicures.... But with the way I was treated? For $10-$15 ??? You guys should really look hard at who is running your business because this was handled very wrong. I usually get work extremely late and my girlfriend always want to come in late to get her nails done. It was 6:59pm and they close at 7. They took us in for both acrylic Fs and my manicure and pedi. They had availability. So they did same time. They always take care of us. This is the only salon I go to last minute because they are willing to.
