Nails 4 U is my favorite nail place in Dubuque. My bridal party and I went here before my wedding for manicures and pedicures and they were great. We made appointments beforehand and had plenty of technicians on hand to get us through quickly and efficiently. The no chip manicures I get form here last forever! When I get manis from other places, usually an edge will start to peel and before I know it that sucker is gone. But here, I can easily get 4 weeks out of a mani. My nails start to grow out and look bad before the polish comes off. Plus this place has walk in appointments and will always work to squeeze you in, if they can! Technicians are always friendly too! I don't live in the area anymore but I always try to get back here when I can! read more

Used to be my favorite place for nails in Dubuque. Went in October for my wedding party and was rushed through, no massage on feet at all. Decided to give it another try this week as a walk-in, front desk was very rude about not having an appointment, told she could take me but not my mother. This time the quality of pedicure was better but not very personable. After sat under drying light, never came back to let us know when done. What a great find. I am in from Chicago to visit the parents. My mom asked if I would like to get my nails done...umm..yes please. And I am glad that she did. This is an awesome place. First off they are incredibly clean. Who wants to go to a dirty place? Secondly they have amazing massage chairs. OMGosh I feel like I just had a swedish massage. Very disappointing bridal experience. Nails for U came very highly recommended from other ladies in Dubuque, so we made a bridal appointment for myself (the bride), my Maid of Honor and my mother (literally only 3 people). We made the appointment a month ago, and we made it for the longest amount of time they would allow (I believe two hours) for both pedicures and acrylic manicures. When we arrived, we were told that we did not make the appointment for acrylics but just for shellac, even though we explicitly discussed acrylics on the phone to make sure we had the longer time slot. They refused to do acrylics, saying they did not have enough staff even though after we were done the staff did not have any other appointments immediately after ours, and we were only there for one hour of our two hour time slot. They wouldn't even do acrylics just for me, the bride, and instead insisted on just shellac even though my natural nails were very short. Then, I asked if they could do an ombre style, and was told no because they didn't have enough time. After, I asked for my French tip to have a nude base to it rather than clear, and was told no because the technician thought it would look "dirty." So, they did just what they wanted and did plain shellac French tips, which is not what I (the bride!) asked for. The pedicures were sloppy and unfinished, especially on my Maid of Honor's pure white toenails, and the technicians were not pleasant or friendly at all throughout the entire appointment. Overall, a very disappointing experience for my bridal nails with the two most important ladies in my life. I would not recommend it, and I will not be returning any time soon. read more

I've been turned away more times than I care to count (at several different hours of the day and days of the week). I walked in for a manicure and after waiting 20 minutes for service I left. There were kids sitting in chairs, bored and spinning around. Clearly this place was barely staffed enough for five pedicures (two of which got seated before me but arrived after I did). Yes it was clean in there but I didn't think it was worth waiting 20 minutes for a manicure that takes 10 minutes. Also the TV was on the tennis channel the entire time. What the heck? read more

VERY clean and very friendly staff. They do get pretty busy so it helps to call ahead, but even if you walk-in they'll try to fit you in.

Normally they do very good work but lately they have been slipping in in quality of work and sanitary practices. Came for a 1pm appointment and they didn't even get to to me until 1:20. They use unsanitzed tools (my lady just rinsed them). She was very quick and rough making my pedi feel rushed because she was running behind which wasn't my fault as I was even early for my appointment. read more
