I came in for a relaxer NOT texturiser but I left with texlaxed/ very under processed hair so now my hair is two textures which is difficult to manage as I didn't want transitioning hair. The hair cutting is terrible too. I showed Talisha a pucture of ME with my hair in a layered bob and said I just wanted a TRIM not a cut. She lobbed half the hair off in one big move and left me with the ugliest, crude blunt cut that she had the nerve to call a bob. Icing on the cake: I had to pay £80 for this monstrosity and in hindsight I'm kicking myself for paying.It will take me 6 months to grow this out as well which sucks. For hair that's not in the texture or style you want: go here by all means!

I got the acrylic nails with gel polish and the chrome add-on and the total came out to £65.00, and I prepaid online so there was no hassle when my nails were done, I just walked out the door. I had a very nice experience with my nail technician who made good conversation during the appointment. I got exactly what I requested. Though during the filing, I was noticing that it seemed like my skin around the cuticle and sides of my finger were getting sanded too and it was a bit uncomfortable and left the a bit agitated and slightly red for a couple days after. There was also excess acrylic on the underside of the nail that made it not smooth and a bit of a hinderance around the sides of the undersides of the nail that I wish she had filed away before the end of the appointment. However, the nails are still staying on pretty good for a month's grow-out time. (the attached photos are fresh out of the salon). The ambiance of the salon was on-par for a normal salon; nothing that overly stood out or sparked concern. The salon is located in a convenient area, it's near the Tube station and Westfield mall.

We had a really good chat about what I wanted to have done with my colour and she really tried to understand me and give me advice on how to make it work. When explaining my idea for for my haircut, she listed intently, then looked through her phone, showed me a picture and said "Like this?" and just like that she nailed it. Amazing. She also was from Italy and many people that came in spoke Italian and it seemed nearly all the staff spoke Italian as well. It created a great European atmosphere and I just loved it. My colour BTW looks amazing and the haircut is still shining through my curls after nearly two months. Success.

At Marcela's 'you get what you pay for' definitely applies. I walked in for a Shellac manicure and walked out with an Artistic manicure (think they're similar). It was not cheap, £50, but for a manicure that lasts me three weeks and took over an hour to do, I think it is almost justified. My therapist did an awesome job. Very neat, very careful and she shaped my nails to the exact shape I asked for. The gel was applied very precisely with no ragged edges, something that has happened elsewhere when I've had shellac done. She also didn't hack away at my cuticles and the skin around my nails, which is a real bugbear of mine: I don't have a lot of excess cuticle, why cut for the sake of cutting? I rate this place in spite of the cost. Tip: they are always book up so worth calling ahead.

Regardless, I am now less than a week in and two of my nails have chipped and because of this the actual nail is broken. I don't know what standard gel procedures are like (perhaps they are better) but I wouldn't recommended SNS and won't be returning.
