For my birthday I received a 1.5 hour massage (£100). My therapist was Alexandria. She was amazing. Just thought I'd let ya'll know. The difference between a half hearted massage from a Groupon at some cheap place in zone 4 and paying full price for this make full price for a place like Cowshed totally worth it (especially if you're not paying!). It's hella indulgent, and I am highly in favor of that. Cowshed Shoreditch House -- tucked inside the famed (and trying-hard-not-to-be-fancy-but-is-anyway) Shoreditch House Hotel and Club, is a hip and stylish spa. I've now visited twice for nail services, and it's on another level of relaxation. And you'll pay for that, but it'll be worth it...a row of perfectly comfortable white leather reclined armchairs await you, where they'll prop up your feet or hands, and you'll ease in, while enjoying a ROMCOM (usually Sex in the City) via your own personal headphones. Throughout your services, you'll be offered water, tea...even wine. They'll ask you often if you are comfortable, and you'll remain in those chairs as long as they don't need them for the next guest. My friend and I enjoyed 30 minutes of drying, chatting and relaxing before we headed out...bliss. Appointments are accepted online but I find it much easier to do so via phone. I rarely say this, but in this instance it is true. All staff that I've had while being treated and primped have been the utmost professionals, very sweet and kind and made the overall experience that much better. This is true luxury. Entrance is just inside the lobby entrance, to the left. I have had higher expectation for a facial experience Cowshed as I have been researching for a good facial place to settle on in London. Yes, it looks trendy and luxurious and hipster for those who like to splurge on treatments, and cute TVs on mani pedi area, not to mention it's part of the Shoreditch house, but man have I been let down by my experience here. I was given a birthday facial from my friends a week ago and came on time for a Cowshed facial. There was a bit of a wait time, and no one approached after 15 minutes or so. I was then led to their basement where I'm advised to settle and get ready. My facial was done by I guess a rather young worker, and I have to say, the entire process of getting the face scrub to applying the facial mask was not relaxing at all. I could have done better at home I swear. Yes their products are nice, but you'd pay the extra for the service and care at a salon like this. There was no pressure points given, she did not ask about my comfort level, and the massage that comes with the facial was beyond mediocre. I do travel quite a bit, and wouldn't mind spending money on skin treatments/products. Having done quite some facials before, I would know what a £68 facial is worth.. Long story short, I expect much better service, and less product related selling at the end of the facial. If this was done right, it could have definitely been my to go spot. read more

I come here when I want some "Me Time". Located at the bottom of Shoreditch House, it feels quite special going there. You know you are in for a treat. I love the surroundings, the smells, sounds, lighting. Their Pedicure chairs are incredibly comfy. They provide me with a huge mug of coffee and a magazine and let me sit on my own for over an hour while they beautify my toes. I usually don't want to leave! I don't know anyone who is proud of their feet, but after my appointments, I always leave wanting to stop strangers in the street and show them mine, they do such a good job! read more

Coming from the land of $20 mani-pedis, it was hard transitioning to London, where cost and accessibility of beauty treatments left something to be desired. Luckily I found Cowshed early on and their Ultimate Cowshed Pedicure was easily one of my more preferred ways to spend 75 minutes. Super indulgent, with a leg massage AND head-neck-shoulder massage with your choice of essential oil. My pedicure would usually last for a month after, which is plenty decent. Not hugely easy to score an appointment at the last minute and a $90 pedicure is sort of over-the-top. But as an occasional treat or pick-me-up, definitely worth it. read more

I had the pleasure of having a nail procedure here. It was quite expensive but definitely worth it! There are some really good professionals working there but be sure to make an appointment beforehand - they won't accept if you just walk in and demand your nails to be done. Ah, my nails... they were so nicely done that I received lots of compliments from my coworkers. Cowshed Shoreditch House is conveniently located in the heart of Shoreditch and a short walk from a few bus stops and the tube. The spa shares an entrance with Shoreditch House but it does have its own reception desk to the left. The receptionist was very friendly, quickly retrieved my appointment details and even offered me a hot beverage. There's also a small shop in the reception area that seems to carry the full range of products. I went in for a high bikini wax which, at £28, is rather pricey. My "waxer" was very friendly and attentive, while the simple and clean decor added to my pleasant experience. The wax used here is the kind that solidifies as it cools, so the process is fast and pain-free. If you're overly sensitive, I highly recommend this type of wax. I was told that for small areas (eyebrows, upper lip) they do use strip wax, which is very common. I'm sure that I'll return at some point to try out one of their facial or body treatments. Overall, I highly recommend Cowshed Shoreditch House, if your pocket allows it. read more

Definitely NOT the best Cowshed in London. I was given a £70 voucher from all my workmates for a birthday present and after carefully selecting a treatment for the exact amount from the website I went ahead and booked in for a 90 minute hot stone massage. The last time I had one of these it was absoultely divine and I was really looking forward to it. When I arrived, however, I was waiting for about 15 minutes before I was taken to the room and although it started off well it seemed like the girl didn't really know what she was doing. A hot stone massage is supposed to be a massage with the hot stones whilst others are placed over different chakra points of your body to help you relax due to the heat. But my therapist spent more time changing the stones and placing them around my body than actually giving me a massage and I think I must have spent about 30 minutes getting an actual massage and the other 60 just lying there while she sorted out the stones or left me to 'relax'. Needless to say I was a little annoyed and would have been more so had I paid! Then when I went to handvoer my voucher to the receptionist she tried to charge me an extra £20, a cost that wasn't shown on the website and finally she realised that it was an error in their system so I was allowed to leave. Not the best experience but it may be that their other branches are better! read more

I got a Hollywood​ wax done here (yup that means everything...)- was my first time getting it done and I was quite nervous but the aesthetician was super lovely and made sure I felt relaxed and comfortable. Yes, it hurts like a b**ch at some points, and you might feel pain like you never felt before for a few seconds and wonder why you thought this was worth it, but like I said it's only a few seconds. The aesthetician kept making conversation and it helped with distracting me from the pain and the final result was worth it. All that being said too, the pain was nowhere near as excruciating as I had imagined it to be and had built up in my head based on some experiences I had read...will definitely do it again read more

A lovely little oasis, with a few little hitches. The staff is kind an accommodating, especially considering the smallish space they have to work with at this location. But there were a couple sticking points that would have made this the experience I was looking for in a tension free message. First: for those with sensitive skin and allergies, I recommend you bring your own message oil, as their proprietary blends almost all contain soy, shea, almond, chamomile or a combination thereof. They do not have simple grape seed or olive, which is weird, but I get that they are doing their branded thing. Even though I've been to other "branded" spas and grape or olive were still on the offer so as to better serve their more sensitive clients. Because they didn't have an oil option for me, they offered me a message with talcum powder(ok??) or I could cancel my booking(really?). I went with the powder because I really needed the message. The Message itself was fine, but would have been much more soothing and probably a little more intensive with an oil. My technician was sweet if a little delicate, but again I put that down to the powder and not necessarily her skill. Though I did say I needed lower back as well as neck and shoulder focus and really only got shoulders with about a minute total spent on those other zones. Second: This is little picky, but I've been to several spas and I find it odd that they don't provide slippers here. So, you are barefoot on their ice cold cement floor before and after your message, which really takes you out of it. With all the other amenities they provide, a disposable slipper seems the least they could do, & it would be a nice finishing touch. Will I come back? I think I'll explore other London spas before returning here. They are fine, it's just the little details I mention above that don't really make it worth a second visit anytime soon. read more

I had high expectations since 1 hour pedicure costs £50. The place is lovely, very well decorated, cozy and they provide you with headphones to watch the series they are playing at the time (Ugly Betty when I went). The pedicure service was good but the massage was not impressive at all. I had leggings on and the girl didn't even pull them up to reach a little higher. The customers who were sitting next to me had their paints up to their knees (one was even wearing jeans) and they got a full leg massage. I just think it was not fair as we were all paying the same price and I didn't get the same service as the other costumers. Aside from the pedicure, all I got was a foot rub, which I could have gotten anywhere else, for half the price. read more

I had booked a Cowshed Pedicure, but couldn't get out of work in time to make the appointment and was 15 minutes late by the time I got there (Sorry!). This was not a problem - the reception girl was super nice and offered to shorten the treatment to a Speedy Pedicure. The beautician was very professional and nice. She brought me tea and made sure that I was happy with what she was doing throughout the treatment. My toes still look perfect after two weeks. Great service and definitely worth the price. I will be back for the Cowshed Pedicure very soon! read more

I recently booked a pregnancy massage and manicure as a bit of a treat. The massage was great, relaxing, soothing and treatment room was lovely. It went downhill from there, after waiting 10mins for a mani (with lots of staff floating around looking at each other) I had to ask if there was a delay/problem! About 15mins into my manicure I was asked to move seats for a group that wanted to sit together.....fine, I hawled myself and my 31wk bump up and moved seat and mani continued. Then as I my mani finished and I was sitting back in super comfy seat to relax and wait for nails to dry I was asked to move again to communal waiting table - apart from a speedy mani taking 45mins instead of 30 - it was the least relaxing experience I've had in a long time. Left feeling not very pampered after dropping £80 and for what should have taken an hour took 1hr 30mins, not great when you have other plans for a Saturday afternoon. Won't ever return here - sticking to Primrose Hill Cowshed!!! read more

Realistically it's more like 4.5 stars. The massage is only average, I like my massage a bit more firm. However, the pedicure is definitely HEAVENLY! OMG! I have gotten many pedicures in my life, and this is one really great pedicure. Let's talk about why it is good.... 1. They use all Essie colors. I am a huge fan as long as the place uses Essie and / or OPI. (Sorry... Americans) 2. Fantastic chair. They have this strange looking pillow on the chair... at first I thought it was weird (like someone else's review also mentioned), but once you sit on it, you know you are dead wrong about being skeptical. It's fluffy soft... was it down filled?! 3. SUPER CLEAN. I will simply never go to these shady looking nail joint. I am a sanitary freak. 4. Smells super great. It's a spa... duh! It smells clean and like lavender everywhere. 5. This is a strange one - but they use an electrical callus file. I was EXTREMELY SKEPTICAL at first. I hated electrical nail files or callus shaver. But this one somehow worked really really well on my sandals -hardened heels. They didn't over file it too much. It's perfectly effective. (I am glad I didn't stop them from doing it). I debated going to this location or the carnaby location. They are both the same distance from me. I picked this one because you can call a cab and they can pick you up right at the front door. With my freshly painted nails, I just don't want to get on a tube. No kidding. The ladies were super friendly at the store. They said the Shoreditch house is recently renovated and is a bigger location compare to the carnaby one. I don't doubt it. You can make appointment online. I'll totally be back. read more

The building in which it's situated - Shoreditch House, is a member only club - but the lovely Cowshed spa located just off the clubs reception is open to all, members or not. I always have high praises for Cowshed, while it's not somewhere a normal jo could visit every week for treatments - it's on the higher end of the price spectrum - it's a wonderful place to visit for a pamper and a treat. The best value for money would probably be the full body massages, the least would be the manicures and pedicures... read more

Having arrived early, I had to wait until 15 minutes after the appointment time until I was taken to the treatment room. I have just recently moved to the area and booked in for the ultimate manicure and pedicure to mark a special occasion. I was slightly disappointed that therapist wasn't wearing any gloves while removing dead skin from my feet which I found unhygienic practice. The massage part of the treatment felt very rushed and no different to basic pedicure. My manicure was carried out by a different lady, I have requested oval and pointy shape however she struggled to meet my requirement leaving them square and uneven also split. The Ultimate treatments by Cowshed clearly appear to be just standard manicure and pedicure only at the extended time and therapists take extra long to complete it. I was expected to wait another 45 mins,so my nail varnish can dry and when asked for 'quick dry' spray used I was told that the Cowshed keeps their products only organic which I understand but the nail varnish they use isn't organic to begin with. If you have spare 4 hours and need a manicure and pedicure then it may be for you. read more
